Reset firefox. can't access gmail. works in safari. annoying.

I reset firefox on my Macbook. Now I can not log into gmail, blogger or you tube account. It won't recognize my gmail password either.
Everything works fine in Safari.
Installed Opera. won't work there either. Firefox 33.1.1 version.
Is there a way to change it back. Also older version of Firefox continually gave me spinning wheel. Was continually having to force quit even with emptying cache and restarting Macbook.

Here's a guess:
Have you noticed any security certificate related issues after your reset? If your security software filters your web traffic, you usually need to set up Firefox to trust your security software again after a reset. There could be a similar issue with a new installation of Opera, but I am less familiar with it.

Thanks, but I tried that and was directed to set up a new password which I did. But, it still wouldn't let me go to my existing Gmail. I was asked to set up Gmail account. I also tried accessing my Gmail from Yahoo. Failed. Someone suggested setting up another Gmail address so that when you logged on it would ask you which Gmail to open. This didn't work and only made the problem worse. Google Help is no help. I guess the only way to access Gmail is with my iPad, but it just isn't right!

all works fine on the desktop machine through the ethernet port on the base station.
any advice?

If it works through the Ethernet port on the AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) it probably has nothing to do with the AEBS. There must be something about the configuration of the computer connecting wirelessly.

I upgraded to iOS 6.1.3 and now I can't access gmail

I upgraded to iOS 6.1.3 and now I can't access gmail- it tells me that the connections to the outgoing server stmp.gmail.com failed. Additional outgoing mail servers can be configured in Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Anyone else have that problem? What should I do?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Repair permissions.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the menu bar, quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.
If that didn't help, install the v10.5.8 combo update.

Captions of photos in Yahoo cover the bottom part of pic. Makes it hard to read text and also can't see whole photo. Tried reset Firefox but that didn't work.

When going through photo galleries on Yahoo (in news, omg, etc.) the caption is displayed on top of the bottom 'fifth' of the photo. (The caption should be below the entire photo.) The way the pations are overlayed makes it difficult to read the text of the caption and worse, it makes it almost impossible to see the lower fifth of the photo. I tried resetting Firefox but that didn't change anything. I can't find any yahoo settings or OS X display setting that changed this. I'm using Firefox 25 on a macbook air running OS X 10. Are there any firefox settings that would improve this? Thanks.

You can also try to reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.

If you have made changes to Advanced font settings like increasing the minimum/default font size then try the default minimum setting "none" and the default font size 16 in case the current setting is causing problems.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.

I have malware only on Firefox and only on retail sites. Used spybot, reset Firefox and reinstalled. Nothing worked. What can I do?

Recently I must have downloaded a virus. On Firefox when I go to any commericial site I am bombarded with pop up ads. Facebook, PDFs and search engines there are no pop ups.I have downloaded and ran Spybot, reset Firefox and reinstall Firefox. I tried using IE and I don't seem to be having the same problems. I do like Firefox, especially for using my RSS feeds. Hopefully you have a solution. BTW I have an older PC running XP.

Flash is notorious for not cleaning out the older version as part of an update.

Can't access Gmail website

I can't access the gmail website: mail.google.com/mail. I used to be able to but not anymore.
I even downloaded Mozilla Firefox but even that won't open it anymore. I tried resetting Safari and emptying the cache but even that didn't work. I tried opening the gmail website on another computer through the same internet connection and it worked. So, I don't know what's up with my computer. If anyone's got the answer please reply. I am having the same problems starting today. The difference with me is I downloaded Mozilla and I could open Gmail. I'd prefer to open it with Safari, though, which I have been able to do for almost a year now! Why today? I did download then uninstall Symantec Internet Security 3.0. It seemed to cause my computer to slow down so I uninstalled and returned it. Could this be the culprit?

I use Gmail myself and I seem to recall getting that message once. I'd delete any mail accounts on your phone, reset it - holding down the Sleep & Home keys until Apple Logo is displayed, then run the Mail App - it should present you with logos of various email providers now - if it doesn't there is an issue - if it does select Google and enter your details.

Firefox can't access a specific web site. WHY?

At home and office I can't access a specific web site with Firefox.
I have tried everything I was able to: cleared cache, deleted cookies, deleted firefox prefs, flushed DNS, tried to log with IP instead of domain, created a new user account in Mac OS, repaired permissions, but nothing happens!
The strange thing is I can access the web site trough a proxy. And I don't have a firewall or similar, my Mac is conected directly to the web. And the problem is the same in any browser I use, like Safari or Firefox or Camino.
Anyone has any idea about what is causing my problem?
Just in case, the site is demonoid.com.

How can i access gmail's smtp server using java mail api

i m using java mail api to access gmails pop and smtp service to receive and send mail from ur gmail account. I m able to access gmails pop server using the ssl and port 995 , but i can not use its smtp server to which i m connecting using ssl on 465 port. It requires authentication code.

There is no problem with Gmail and iPad; I use it all the time.
Check to make sure that you have entered the correct information in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars for your Gmail account.
