Reset IPOD but fails to synch with iTUNES
Sir or Ma'am,
I've had my iPOD for 3 years. Now, I can't synch my 40GB iPOD, serial #jq3370d2pq6, with Windows iTUNES. I tried hitting the MENU/pause-play button simultaneously to reset it, then recharged it. My battery discarges before the iTUNES can recognize and load the iPOD playlists. Has my battery reached end of life? How do I replace the battery if has reached end of life?

replacing the battery is easy. just google the info needed to replace it there are quite a few sites that give you step by step, pic, even video info on how to do it. did mine in less than 5 minutes.

I've downloaded an audiobook from my local public library and have already listened to it. It still shows up on my IPod, but when I sync with iTunes, I can't find it our delete it. Please advise?
Sometimes simply restarting your iTunes, the computer and the iPad is all that it takes to correct an issue like this so try that. Quit iTunes, reboot your computer, and restart the iPad. Then try the sync again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. -
I have purchased recent songs on iTunes within the last week and now my iPod is not synching with recently purchased songs. I have all the current updates. Help!

HT203180 Videos can only be imported to iPad but failed to sync with itunes.
This article does not solve my issue.
My problem is: I can import and view the videos by importing them directly from my camera (Canon 5D Mark II). However, it fails to sync when I import them into iPhoto first.
Import from camera:
I have imported videos from my Canon 5D Mark II directly to the iPad using the camera connection kits. It works perfectly. I can view them in Photos and iPhoto (iPad). I can edit them in iMovie and Avid Studio. It works just like those video I took with my iPhone 4S which were synced to my iPad using iTunes.
Sync with iTunes:
However, it fails if I use the iTunes and iPhotos (Mac) to do my job. I imported the photos and videos to iPhoto (Mac) and then put them in an album which is to be synced to iPad. Then, I connected my iPad, started my iTunes and checked that album under the photo tab. After that, I pressed "Sync". When sync was finished, it reported to me that those files, which could be imported, played and edited, could not be played on iPad.
It is clearly a software bug in iTunes. Please fix that.By the way, I have seen many replies in this thread (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2398865?start=15&tstart=0) that describe the same problem. (Please note that I am talking about the replies, not the captioned question in the thread).

Downloaded IOS5 to my Ipad and now cannot synch with itunes - I get no messages
I have downloaded IOS5 and the IPad works fine but I cannot synch with itunes and all of my Ipad music, videos and photos are gone. Tough to tell wher I went wrong since I can run wireless synch and it gets to stage 7 but then nothing happens. I hope someone else has encountered and solved this already.
ios 6 requires itunes 10.6.3 or higher which requires Mac OS 10.6.8 or higher

What happens when you try? Does the iPod even appear in iTunes? Have you tried a different cable or different USB ports on each PC?

Hi, thank you for the reply, unfortunetly i have tried all the suggestions on that link (and quite a few more).
The message is completely random as to whether its a download from the itunes store or something i have imported or a cd that i have added to my itunes. I have got to a point now where it will synch a certain amount of tracks (or photo's, books, etc) and then just give me an -50 message regardless of what it is i am trying to synch, my 80gb classic has now become a 50mb classic! -
My ipod no longer synchs with itunes
My ipod no longer syncs with iTunes and my computer. It shows up under devices, but not in itunes. I installed an update from Apple yesterday. Could this be causing the problem (their updates have caused issues before), or is there something I need to do to get the iPod to synch with iTunes? Thanks. JP

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
New cable and different USB port?

When I got my ipod I made an account with iTunes right from my ipod.Yesterday, I made a password lock to get into my ipod and I couldn't get into it even though I did the correct one. Now it says"connect to iTunes" BUT I can't because I never registered on the computer. I've tried holding the home and sleep/wake button for 10 sec and then only the home for 5sec and that might have reset it, but it didn't help. If any of you guys know what to do so I can unlock it I would appreciate it VERY much.

i am syncing my ipod but it comes up with a error saying itunes could not backup the ipod because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the ipod, what do i do?
As I said the iTunes program on the computer. You open iTunes on the computer and go to the View menue in the upper rightand then click on preferences. Go to Devices and delete the backup.

How can I synch my ipod & iphone music (purchased from itunes on my old laptop) to my new laptop? I keep getting the same message on my itunes on my new laptop: " The ipod/Iphone is synched with another itunes library. An ipod/iphone can be synched with only one itunes library at a time. A couple of other items:
1) I am guessing Apple does not keep a history of all my music purchases? As I did not have my entire library backed-up anywhere, and relying on the music I have on my ipod and my iphone as my only source of itunes music....I have lost over 500 songs!!!
2) I used to have an Apple account under another account name, and since have switched to a new account name. Is there anyway to find the history of purchases from my old Apple account name and transfer these over to my new account name and onto my new laptop?

You can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone/ipod to your computer:

New ipod touch won't work with itunes 10.6.3, says it needs 11.1 or newer but I cannot load that onto my MacBook running on OSX 10.5.8 - is there anyway around this?
No. If your MacBook has an Intel processor you can update to OSX 10.6.8 and then install the latest iTunes.
A 5G iPod with iOS 7 requires that if you have a Mac you have OSX 10.6.8 or later.

My iPod Touch Gen 5 will no longer synch with iTunes on my computer. Only change since this happened is update to iPod to OS 8.1.1 iPod synch remains stuck in "Step 8 of 8"
On your computer go to the control panel (hover in the lower right corner) then programs, add/remove programs
Uninstall iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Service, Apple Application Support then go to apple.com and redownload and reinstall iTunes and try again.
You won't lose any content, you're not deleting that, just the programs that access them.
What is thought to happen is that sometimes a new version of itunes doesn't update the drivers in those other two programs. The only way to update the drivers is to force it by uninstalling the programs which allows itunes to write the correct ones.
My iPad and iPod did exactly the same thing and this is how I fixed it. -

Message from Itunes when I connect Ipod Classic 160 is "Software required for communicating with the Ipod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall Itunes" I have reinstalled 7.6 several times and tried 7.5 but nothing works. I have tried the 5R's. Nothing. Also you might try forcing the iPod into disk mode first, then connecting it to your computer and see if that makes it show up in iTunes...
