Reset page number to '1 ' for each box of packing list in sap script

hi Gurus,
I am running a packing list for delivery note . Many boxes spread across more than one page. I Need to print page number in Packing list for each box like 1 of 2 , 2 of 2. In the new page for next box , I need to print 1 of 1, 2 of 2. and goes on.
can you suggest a method to achieve this in script.
thanks,
manoj

Hi,
Could you give me the reply for following question?
1. Are the boxes changing depends on the data? or static size? How many boxes would be displayed in a page?
2. Is it your own driver program / standard one?
3. Suppose if you have 5 pages and having 10 boxes, 2 boxes for each page, then do you need to display like,
>1 of 1 on 1st box on 1st page
>2 of 1 on 2nd box on 1st page
>1 of 2 on 1st box on 2nd page
>2 of 2 on 2nd box on 2nd page
>....
Is it so?
Once i get these details then I will let u know the way....:)

  • To reset page number after each new section in DeskI

    I have a master/detail report where the master is "Customer name". I have a requirement to reset the page number at each new  Customer name.
    i.e. If "Customer A" spans to 3 pages and "Customer B" spans 2 pages. Then for Customer A the page number should be Page 1 of 3, Page 2 of 3, Page 3 of 3. Then Customer B should have page number as Page 1 of 2,Page 2 of 2.
    1. The Page number can be obtained using PageInSection but only if I display it inside the section body and select "Repeat on every page" . But I need to display it in Page footer.
    2. I am unable to get the total No.of Pages per section unless I do some calculation using the no of rows per Customer. Is there any other way of getting this detail?
    Please help on the baove 2 issues. This is very URGENT.

    Dear Thendral A,
    The "PageInSection" function resets the page number to 1 at the start of each new section in the specified section level.
    For Example:
    you have a report with two section levels, Country and Quarter.
    You set every value of Country to start on a new page and enter the following syntax in a cell placed WITHIN THE SECTION THAT NEEDS THE RESETTING OF THE PAGE (it cannot be placed in the header or footer, as it can then not refer to the relevant section. It will give the value 0 instead), to restart page numbering to 1 for each value of Country:
    =PageInSection(1)
    where (1) is Country which is section 1 in the report.
    If there are any following sections these can also be reset via this formula with the use of the relevant section number.
    This option can be used effectively when you set each value of a section to start on a new page. To do this, check the Start on a new page option in the Section Format dialog box.
    Do remember that the result will only be seen in the report, when the option View/Page layout has been set, otherwise the result will be seen as a 0 at each section (this however does get correctly displayed in the Print Preview, and when printing without the page layout option set).
    I hope that these information help you to understand the functionality of the PageInSection function.

  • SQL help: return number of records for each day of last month.

    Hi: I have records in the database with a field in the table which contains the Unix epoch time for each record. Letz say the Table name is ED and the field utime contains the Unix epoch time.
    Is there a way to get a count of number of records for each day of the last one month? Essentially I want a query which returns a list of count (number of records for each day) with the utime field containing the Unix epoch time. If a particular day does not have any records I want the query to return 0 for that day. I have no clue where to start. Would I need another table which has the list of days?
    Thanks
    Ray

    Peter: thanks. That helps but not completely.
    When I run the query to include only records for July using a statement such as following
    ============
    SELECT /*+ FIRST_ROWS */ COUNT(ED.UTIMESTAMP), TO_CHAR((TO_DATE('01/01/1970','MM/DD/YYYY') + (ED.UTIMESTAMP/86400)), 'MM/DD') AS DATA
    FROM EVENT_DATA ED
    WHERE AGENT_ID = 160
    AND (TO_CHAR((TO_DATE('01/01/1970','MM/DD/YYYY')+(ED.UTIMESTAMP/86400)), 'MM/YYYY') = TO_CHAR(SYSDATE-15, 'MM/YYYY'))
    GROUP BY TO_CHAR((TO_DATE('01/01/1970','MM/DD/YYYY') + (ED.UTIMESTAMP/86400)), 'MM/DD')
    ORDER BY TO_CHAR((TO_DATE('01/01/1970','MM/DD/YYYY') + (ED.UTIMESTAMP/86400)), 'MM/DD');
    =============
    I get the following
    COUNT(ED.UTIMESTAMP) DATA
    1 07/20
    1 07/21
    1 07/24
    2 07/25
    2 07/27
    2 07/28
    2 07/29
    1 07/30
    2 07/31
    Some dates donot have any records and so no output. Is there a way to show the missing dates with a COUNT value = 0?
    Thanks

  • Create standby maximum number of logfiles for each thread

    The oracle doc states this equation for appropriate number of standby redo log file groups
    (maximum number of logfiles for each thread +1) * maximum number of threads
    How do you get the maximum number of logfiles for each thread and the max thread?
    Thanks!

    If you are running RAC you can, in theory, be running with a diferent count
    of Online Redo Logs in each thread (instance).
    However, normally, you would have the same number of Redo Logs in each
    thread.
    The theoretical max is prescribed at the CREATE DATABASE and can be
    changed with a CREATE CONTROLFILE. If you do an
    ALTER DATABASE BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO TRACE
    the sql script in the tracefile shows the maximum number of logs and members.

  • Maximum number of logfiles for each thread

    Hi all,
    When I configure a Standby Redo Log, to determine the appropriate number of standby redo log file groups, I should use the following formula:
    appropriate number of standby redo log file groups: (maximum number of logfiles for each thread + 1) * maximum number of threads
    My question is: how can I determine the maximum number of logfiles for each thread ? Is it the online redo log file per group? or total of redo log files in all groups?
    SQL> ed

    hi amruta,
    The soluti as an image into on to your problem can be to use the symbol icon as told , but this may show in preview not in print.
    I too faced the same problem.
    So what i had done is created a new window with the diemnsions of the chekc box with border thcikness 8 tw and inside that window place a checkmark symbol.
    if this checkmark symbol also does not show up in print preview/  doesshow in print preview and not in print then you can scan a chekcmark image and upload it into business document server as a BMP/ TIFF image and use this image in your checkbox window.
    Hope this solves your problem.

  • Reset Page Number for each Group

    I am currently creating a RTF template using XMLP 5.0
    My demanding boss gets back in town in five days, and he expects
    this report to be ready for production. :)
    But I haven't been able to figure out one last spec.
    The page number needs to be reset for each group.
    So for example, the total report is about 83 pages.
    In my RDF file (from Oracle Apps), I am grouping by a DEPT field.
    In my RTF template, I am page breaking on each DEPT.
    The page numbering should also be reset to 1 on each DEPT break.
    The reason for this, is that the report will be printed, then separated by DEPT.
    This way, each DEPT in the plant can receive their own individual report.
    Is there anyway to do this using XMLP 5.0?
    We would be willing to upgrade our XMLP,
    if this functionality is available in a later version.
    Thanks in advance.
    Mark K

    Hi Mark
    Yep, you can do this, you can even do it in 5.0 :o)
    For some reason it did not make the user doc in 5.0 ... an Easter egg if you like.
    So I'd recommend getting the 5.5 or later docs and using that for reference. Just search for "About Oracle XML Publisher Release 5.5" on metalink once you have that doc search it for "Oracle XML Publisher User's Guide" its a link to the PDF document.
    Then check pg 86/290 - Advanced Report Layouts > Batch Reports for details. This approach will work for 5.5. If you would like a sample then if you have installed the template builder there is an Advanced > Repeating Headers folder inwhich you will find an example.

  • Reseting page number in Word RTF template for BI Publisher PDF generation

    Hi!
    Apex 4.0.2, Oracle 10.2.0.4, BIP 10.2
    Bills are created based on Word RTF file with BI Publisher. Reszulting file is one big PDF file, which has many pages.
    Word RTF template is grouped on BILLS.ID field with page break option. So one BILLS.ID may have one or many pages (according data).
    How to create RTF template (for PDF BI Publisher generation) with reseting page numbers when grouping value change.
    Page numbers are in footer in format
    curr_group_page/total_group_pages
    where:
    curr_group_page is current page number in group (defined with BILLS.ID field),
    total_group_pages is total page number of pages in group (defined with BILLS.ID field).
    I need to reset numbering whenever BILLS.ID (group) change.
    Example:
    ID=1 (4 pages)
    1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4
    ID=2 (1 pages)
    1/1
    ID=3 (2 pages)
    1/2, 2/2
    ID=4 (3 pages)
    1/3, 2/3, 3/3
    etc.
    How to achieve that kind of numbering?
    Any help appreciated.

    Simple question.. Does your posting deal with an APEX issue or a BI Publisher issue? The posting you have deals with the RTF add-on for Word that builds report layouts for BI Publisher. I suggested in my response that you move it to a more relevant forum..
    If you feel that me alerting you to the fact your are VIOLATING forum policy is an issue, please feel free to ask others their view.. (posting to a 3 year old closed thread, creating MULTIPLE threads for a single issue..) You do NOT seem to get the idea that posting this in the Bi Publisher support forum would probably get you a BETTER response than here.. Asking pl/sql questions here will also get people to refer your questions to the PL/Sql Support forum..
    Also, here is a POSSIBLE answer from the BI Publisher Forum: http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=594805

  • Reset Page number in Smartforms

    Hi,
    I have a smartform with a page break when ever the ship to party of the line item changes. In the output I have page counter (e.g. Page 1 of 10). Currently the total number of pages is same as the total number of pages in the spool and is supposed to happen like that. But what I need is, for each ship to party the total number of pages must be calculated separately. For example, for the first ship to party if there are 3 pages, the page counter should be 1 of 1 to 1 of 3, irrespective of the total spool pages. For the next ship to party it should repeat the same.
    Can somebody help me on this please?
    Thanks

  • How do I create a chart of the number of entries for each date?

    I have a table which contains bookings for an event I am running, with one row for each booking and a column for the date of the booking.  I am trying to create a line chart which shows me the progress of the number of bookings over time.  So the X axis would have one label for each day of the month - even if there was no booking on that day, and the Y axis would have the number of bookings, i.e. the number of rows, matching the date.
    I have tried a few things without success, so I wonder if someone could help with this?
    Thanks,
    Nick

    The top table is titled "Bookings" and the bottom table summariese the bookings by counting how many bookings fall on each day:
    The bottom table:
    B2=COUNTIF(Bookings :: $B, "="&A2)
    select B2 and fill down as needed

    Hi,
    I would like to write a query on USER_SOURCE that can display the number of code lines for each procedure/function in a package.
    Is it possible to write such a query? Maybe by using analytical functions?
    for example in the following example i would like to count the lines between "PROCEDURE proc1 IS" and "END proc1;" and between "PROCEDURE proc2 IS" and "END proc2;"
    SQL> select text  from user_source where name='PKG_TEST' and type='PACKAGE BODY';

  • Dynamic Pie Chart: Counting the number of instances for each value

    Hello my name is Tim and I am at a roadblock concerning a chart for a dashboard design.
    I have a list with two fields:
    Platform and Status. The list is customized in InfoPath. The
    Platform field is located on the form as a drop-down menu with 6 entries.
    Status is a choice field with 3 selection that is updated through the lifespan of the project (once item created, it is updated to "In process", once the project is closed, the field is updated to "closed."
    My hurdle is viewing these dynamically in a Pie Chart. I am  trying to display the number of project's "In process" for each Platform. So, if Platform A has 6 projects "In process" and Platform B has 3 projects "In process"
    how can this be displayed in a pie chart?
    At the moment, I figured there are two options: Chart View WebPart or importing an Excel  worksheet.
    Any ideas or solution on how to accomplish this?
    -Tim Dempsey

    Three options:
    1. Create a list that holds your statuses. Then in your original list, create a lookup to the status list. In your status list, make a lookup to the lookup. This creates a circular reference which, for whatever reason, returns a count. You can then connect
    a chart web part to this. Repeat for the other column.
    2. Go to your sharepoint list and export to spreadsheet. Save the file. This is a query file that you can use as a data connection. From that file, set it to auto-update and then create a chart from a pivot table. Then use Excel Services Web Part to display
    the file.
    3. The other option is to use Google Charts API. Connect to the list, run some jQuery and JavaScript and then export out a chart. Pretty cool tool.

  • Equal Number Of Entries For Each Group

    Hi,
    I have been working on the problem off and on for a couple of weeks. I posted a simplified version of the question earlier and got good answers but the problem was not in the answers but how I asked the question.
    My issue is this: I have a large data set with many dimensions. One of those dimensions is line number. The way the data is enter if the value for line number is zero there is no entry for that line number. So say California has 40 line numbers and Alaska has 3. This layout will not work for a project we are doing. What we need it to have the same number of line entries for each dimensions. So California would have 140 line entries with zeros for the blank entries and Alaskia would also have 140 line entries with zeros for the blank entries.
    I'm using Toad and Oracle 10

    Hi,
    Sure, you can do that. Outer-join a table (or result set) that has 140 rows to your real table.
    Here's an example of a sub-query that has 140 rows:
    WITH    cntr  AS
        SELECT  LEVEL   AS n
        FROM    dual
        CONNECT BY  LEVEL  <= 140
    ) ...Later in the query, you can reference cntr as if it were a table. cntr.n will have the values 1, 2, 3, ..., 140.
    I hope this answers your question.
    If not, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all tables, and also post the results you want from that data. Simplify the problem as much as possible. For example, instead of needing 140 rows (when the actual data has only 3 or 40), say you want 4 rows, and post data that has 1 or 3 rows. You can change the numbers easily after you understand the solution.
    Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
    Always say which version of Oracle you're using.

  • Page number variable based on text anchor & referencing numbered list

    I've looked and looked, not only in Adobe's help centers but also just in Google, and I simply cannot find an answer one way or another to my questions!
    I'd like to do 2 things:
    1 - Use a variable to reference on what page more information can be found on a certain subject (i.e. To find out more, please see page ##.), though the page number will undoubtedly change as I continue working on this project and eventually build my book from the various documents I've created.  I can insert some kind of marker or text anchor or whatever I need to by the information I'm referencing, as long as it's not visible, of course.  I'd just like to have a dynamic reference so I don't have to go back through and try to verify that my page references are all correct.  The Current Page variable will not help me in this case.
    2 - I'd also like to reference some numbered tables I have; they are currently setup as being numbered by a custom paragraph style that is in number mode 'Continue from previous number'; another situation where table numbers will change as I continue working on this book and I'd like a dynamic solution.  If I need to insert a variable to calculate the table numbers, rather than use the paragraph style numbering system, that's fine; I'd rather do a bit more work now so that I can be assured my references are accurate when this is all said and done!
    Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

    Thanks a lot; I just didn't delve deep enough into that and misunderstood some of the relevant options that did exactly what I needed.
    Thanks again!
