Resizable Flash in html

Nowadays, I'm trying to make a website based on Flash. I
chose a site,
http://www.lissongallery.com/#/artists/peter-joseph/,
as a model. I'm wondering which action scripter supports resizable
and shows fixed stages when I resize my own browser. When size of
browser is increased than specific size, Flash movie is showed
entirely according to the browser. On the other hand, it is
displayed partly when browser's size is decreased than specific
size.
All I know is scaleMode of Stage class supports this
function, but it is not exactly samething like the site above.
Could somebody helps and tell me how to or some
advice??

  • Resizable Flash in iWeb

    Hi,
Is it possible to make the flash resizable in iWeb?
I published a resizable flash movie into a folder. It works fine when I preview it in the flashmovie.html. But then I embedded it into iWeb using the html snippet and it does not resize.
    Please help. Thanks!

A Google search for "code to embed flash" found this: http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=codeto+embed+flashcontent&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

  • Cropped Flash in HTML

I am testing a carousel menu and have uploaded the test pages to www.garynewport.com.
If I run the flash directly (http://www.garynewport.com/menu.swf) then it runs as I want it to.
If I run it within an HTML page then it is smaller, tucked to the right and is cropped.
If I create the HTML within Flash (Publish) then the same problem.
    Can anyone help me please?

    Hello,
I have just played around with CSS...and hopefully got what you are after.
I think KGLAD was correct in the beginning, your embed tag in the HTML is incomplete.
    Here's what I did:
enclosed the <embed> tag around <object></object> tag. (this is the correct way to embed, Google "embed flash in html" for more examples)
set the style of <object> tag to be <object width="100%"> (this is optional, I just do it anyway...can't remember the reason)
wrape the <object> and <embed> in a <div class="spinning-menu"> (this is the best pratice, objects should get wrapped by divs, beside, its lot easier to assing divs with CSS classes and styles later on)
create a CSS class .spinning-menu { margin: 0 20%; }, this will center your spinning menu, leaving 0% margin at the top, while 20% margin left and right. The % are respective to the window/browser size, so that when you resize the window, the margins are maintained.
change the width property of the <embed> tag to be 100% (this is to ensure your flash shows 100% of the widths)
Just a screen shot....making sure this is what you are after....the white border is just to show you where is the <div>, not included as part of the steps above. As you can see, the movie is not at the center of the page, and not cropped (I could only see 1/2 of the blue men in your home page)
    Hope this helps....

  • Resizing Flash Movie to Size of Site

I am developing a html Web site with a flash intro
and need help because I am learning all over again, not having done
    it in 3 years.
The screen is to start out white and fade to silver, which I
did quite nicely after many frustrating moments of relearning and
conditioning and realized it was quite simple. The movie is 600x400
and I developed the site at 1028x768 with my html layer for the
    site at: <div id="Layer1" style="position:absolute; left:125px;
    top:7px; width:686px; height:623px; z-index:1">. The flash movie
    layer is: <div id="Layer1" style="position:absolute; left:128px;
    top:-68px; width:602px; height:424px; z-index:1"> which I
changed to the html one and it did not work.
Then I went back to Flash and tried to change the movie size.
Well that was a trip. The stage is somehow off center to the right
and when I used the hand to move it, it did not work
Anyway, what I am trying to do is start the page off with a
white background full screen and have the flash movie start out as
white with a black dot and then fade to silver until the dot turns
into the logo. The flash movie does this, but I can't figure out
how to put it on the first page so when viewed the user will only
see the movie and not the movie with a white background. Also can't
figure what glitched when I was playing with it to get the stage
    off centered.
If you want to see the movie, I can show you and please no
jokes because the item my friend is selling is a bit different but
    highly used
    Thank you in advance...StarShine

Am I missing something or your long story has nothing to do
with "Resizing Flash Movie to Size of Site"?
If you want your flash file to be displayed full
size in browser window try setting the "width" and "height"
parameters in "object" and "embed" tag to "100%".

  • How to embed flash in html

I have been trying to embed a flash swf document in a free
website hosting site called Weebly. You can add html code to it and
i have been reading up about the ways to embed flash in html. I
have tried all the codes but when you first save the file where
does it have to be saved?

I'm sure weebly have instruction for it and would be best to
    try to search the site.
In most cases you upload the file to some folder and define
the path in your embed tag,
or upload to your hosting space and direct that path to the
    file there.
As I said, each company practice differently, check with
    them.

  • Resizing flash in safari

    Hi,
I deal with a lot of dynamic data at my company, so we
generally fill up the flash and then resize the rest of the
movieclip to what we need using javascript. I use swfobject to
embed my flash files. Anyhow, this was never a problem until I
started supporting safari, and there's very little on the web
regarding it. I've found this little tidbit of information
    regarding safari
    http://www.beyondstandards.com/archives/dynamically-resizing-flash-objects-with-js/
    - but haven't gotten much farther. The author states that you need
to resize both the object that contains the embed and the actual
embed object as well. However, I'm having a tough time finding that
information using the swfobject to embed the swf. Does anyone know
the safari DOM well enough or had experience resizing flash objects
in safari? Any help at all would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Robert

ClickToPlugin & ClickToFlash Safari extensions offer HTML5 versions of Flash & other videos wherever they're available, including much of Youtube, but not Wimp.com. They can be set to open automatically, or require clicking for the media to play. Flash adverts & other content doesn't always have an HTML5 version, so you'll miss many adverts/games unless you click, or whitelist the site. Streetview on Google maps also requires it, but again, easily whitelisted.
Mavericks ( & possibly Safari 6.1 ) looks likely to have something similar built in.
If a website only has Flash versions of their games/videos - you'll need Flash... although some can be coaxed into providing HTML5 if they think you're uisng a mobile device, by changing Safari's user agent in the Develop menu. Then, say wimp.com, will provide m.wimp.com with non-Flash versions.

It's a stupid way of doing it, but I got it to work using the

I send the user to a frame in the Flash movie. That frame has

Every time you open page, flash reload from scratch. That's
    how it works.
You can use frames and keep the menu in frame, which would be
    easiest solution.
Or you could use Shared Object, something like flash's form
    of cookies.
Make a record every time you press button, read that record
    every time you
open the page and based on result do something with the menu
    to indicate
that this is the clicked location, tho take note, it still
    will be loading
the file from zero, every single time you open new html page.

  • When is Firefox metro going to come to 32 bit windows 8? and can improve flash and html 5 performance!

When is Firefox metro going to come to 32 bit windows 8 and can you improve flash and html 5 performance it cant play 1080p videos smoothly I love Firefox but I'm using IE 10 for browsing and video, then Firefox for developing but want to use it for everything!

  • Advice on integrating Flash and HTML

I have googled and researched this topic on the web.
Integrating Flash and HTML seems like a popular topic but much of
the information is dated (using FS commands or solutions based on
2000-2004 coding and/or hacks) I am using Flash CS3 and Dreamweaver
CS3. I can use Actionscript 2 or Actionscript 3. Here is my goal
I want to use a Flash navigation in the top third of my page
and have it control and load new HTML pages in the bottom two
thirds of the page. Some of these html pages use SPRY code but most
are simple HTML pages. I prefer Flash over CSS because I have more
control and predictability. What I have found so far is three
    different solutions.
1.HTML Framesets. This seems like a really good idea but I
thought using framesets was a fading technique and should be
    avoided. Is this true?
    2. Using the ExternalInterface class to communicate between
Javascript and Actionscript. This also seemed like a good idea but
it is not clear to me how to implement. Do I combine this with
innerHTML or some type of AJAX technique.
    3. Keep everything in Flash and load different swfs into main
Flash page. I like this idea the best and it would work for most
pages but I still like html pages when there is alot of text or I
    want to use SPRY techniques.
When I have posted elsewhere I get references to articles
telling me why Flash is bad or framesets are bad or innerHTML is
not standard HTML. The only thing I am sure about is that most
people are pretty passionate about defending their own way of doing
things. I am hoping someone can provide some solid information
about what is possible and how to implement a solution.

It works when you put it online... :)1

  • Export motion to flash or html 5?

I like the creative possibilities in Motion but am wondering if there is a way to incorporate this into webpages via flash or html 5? Perhaps some sort of export or conversion?

Most browsers can handle H.264 files, or at least .mp4 files (nowhere as good.)  It's coding for the players that's the pain...
FFMpegX (ffmpegx.com) will convert video (.mov) to .FLV (but I'm not sure it would be the most recent type of flash file) — there are instructions how on the /flv.html page.
For HTML5 (webm format) there is http://mirovideoconverter.com (open source/free) which, I just found and haven't tried yet (but I'm definitely going to check it out!)

  • Code to resize flash content based on screen dimmensions? Already encountered problems.

    Ok Guys-
So I have put up a trial of my flash website-
    www.nicksdesign.com/flash
I'm new at flash- as this is the first project I've done in
    flash, and the problem is...
I put the file in a simple HTML file in dreamweaver, and i
published the files, tested them on my computer, and it's great-
the size fits enough so that no scrolling is needed.
    However-
I asked a friend to test it- and on his computer you are
required to scroll both vertically and horizontally in order to see
all the content on the 100% flash website.
    My question-
Are there any codes that can resize the swf file or the HTML,
based on screen resolution/browser [however- we tested in the same
    browser]
Any help would be SUPER appreciated
    Best Regards,
    Nick Smith

Hi Gorka, thanks for your post! Here is my problem in as
small a nutshell as I can manage! The site I'm creating depends a
lot on animation of characters around the screen so this all has to
be done in flash, I drew the Frame of the site in Flash and a lot
of the buttons etc will be flash although I have to use some jpegs
as buttons on the top of the site as well as a lot of other bitmaps
(product shots etc.) in the content welI. I had to reduce them (and
size all the other bitmap elements) in photoshop to exactly the
size they will appear in the content well in flash. Even the jpeg
buttons I created, I had to output two different sized versions of
the same image for each button, as if I enlarge the image even
slightly in flash for a rollover state, it looks awful.. now it
looks great but the resulting swf is huge! My main concern at the
moment as I said, is what way I can output the swf so that it will
fit perfectly into any browser window without having to scroll, and
keep the quality of all the bitmap elements, and the client is also
worried about having huge areas of white space around the frame of
the site. I'm very interested to know more about the 'stage class'
you mentioned, i haven't come across this before, just before I got
your message, I had found a link to this page:
    http://forums.ultrashock.com/ff.htm?http://forums.ultrashock.com/forums/showthread.php?s=& threadid=83535
is this what you were talking about? Your offer of help is
greatly appreciated, if you can help me understand what needs to be
done I'll be eternally grateful! Thanks, Eoin.

  • Flash and Html combined elements

I have a question, basically what I have is a flash site, and
one of those sections is a news section, when someone clicks on
that section i want it to open up html webpage within flash and
then be able to scroll up and down the page because i know it all
wont fit. I want to do this because it will be easier to update, i
do not want anything fancy perhaps a picture resized and some text
under it, when you select the picture it will open in a new window
full sized. Does anyone know how to do this?

Here's a good help article that should help to explain the process: Adobe Flash Platform * External API example: Communicating between ActionScript and JavaScript in a web browser

  • Fade in/out ; resizing; flash video on slides

I am trying to remove the fade transition between slides.
Even though I selected "no transition" the slides still fade in.
    How do I remove this?
Also, I tried to resize my project by going into the html and
setting the size tab to "auto." I was hoping this would make it
larger in my browser, but instead it make it miniscule. How do I
get the project to fill the browser?
Finally, is there a way to have a link on a slide that when
it's selected a flash video will play on top of the slide? And
after viewing, the user can close the flash video but remain on the
    current slide?
    thanks for the help!!!

    Hi Joe
Normally slides don't have a transition unless you
specifically add one. To check that, take a look at the Slide
properties. More likely you are seeing fade in and out transitions
applied to objects such as images.
You may try changing the size in the HTML page to 100%.
Perhaps that will work. Something else to try would be to link
directly to the raw .SWF as opposed to the HTML page presenting it.
Although I don't recommend doing so, some claim they like the
    result it offers.
As for the link to play a video, if you are using Captivate 3
you could accomplish it by using a Rollover Slidelet object. Insert
the video clip into the slidelet.
    Cheers... Rick
