Check Output Determination configuration in SPRO.
SAP default is A4 for print. You can change this with the help of ABAP scripts to change the attributes of Smart Forms.

  • Can I stop the Officejet 6000 from calibrating after each print job?

Is there a way to prevent the Officejet 6000 from calibrating after each print job? The process is loud and prolonged. The print quality is fine but it makes too much noise. I have not seen an answer to this in any forum. I hope one of the pros or expert can help.

This servicing will occur after every print job. There are no methods to stop it or decrease its cycle time.

  • Print job best setup - inside edge bleed from facing pages?

I'm putting together a 32pp A4 report with InDesign CS3 that will be printed from PDF in China.  I'm UK-based and I will be passing the file to the printers electronically.  I speak no Chinese, yet my client has an office in China and one of their staff (non-graphics expert) will be the middle man.
At the moment I'm setting up my document with facing pages and 5mm bleed.  I recall from a recent UK print job using the same document setup that when I output to PDF with Use Document Bleed Settings ticked, the print bureau complained that images which filled one side of A4 and bled off outside/top/bottom of the page did not bleed off the inside.  I asked them how to give them what they needed and they said the facing spreads needed to be 'separated into single pages' before I made the PDF - this would enable bleed on all 4 sides. I didn't know how to do that and maintain facing pages to allow me to design on a spread-by-spread basis, so I asked them.  They couldn't tell me, so I left it as it was.  In the end they had to trim the pages slightly more on the inside to get rid of any white paper.
I'm very keen to avoid any problems at all with this print job, so I want to get the setup and process right in my head from the start.
So my question: how can I set this document up to minimise problems for the printer?  I don't mind if that involves another process before exporting, I just don't know what that might be.
    Many thanks.

The way you have it setup is the correct way for Perfect Binding.
The image that appears on the right hand page in the picture posted, that area actually goes into the spine area - look at any book that has a spine and see how deep the pages go into the spine.
You will also notice that the image on the right hand page does not go past the crop mark - so in reality it's actually cropped off the page altogether, so there's no need to worry about it.
What you have is perfect - for perfect binding (or saddle stitching)
Don't worry about the script posted earlier - that is for a different type of binding.
    Sidenote
When you make a PDF for printing make sure you offset your Crop Marks further than your bleed
Bellow I've used points and pica (but you can use 5mm bleed and offset by 6mm)
    Reason:
    Crop marks
are needed to trim the page to size when printed. As printers can't
print right to edge of a sheet, and that it's near impossible to trim a
sheet of paper right to the edge of a colour - the colour needs to
extend past the crop line, this is called
    bleed.
When you bleed the document, i.e., extend any item that is tucked right
against the foredge (the edges opposite the spine), then you need to
extend this object off the page into a "bleed" area.
This allows for human error when trimming the paper, as each sheet is
not trimmed individually (that would take forever!) they are stacked on
top of each other and trimmed in stacks. It would be impossible to stack
all the sheets exactly even, and there is movement on the press, so
compensating for the movement and the fact they can never be stacked
exactly even - for this reason you need objects to extend past the edge
    of the page.
    The crop marks
tell the guillotine operator where to trim the sheet. Once they have
the measurements in their guillotine machine it's a simple matter of
rinse and repeat with as many stacks of paper there are.
And printers can sometimes fold and trim a print job folding machine,
and since it's a machine and you have to account for mechanical errors
and human error, you need bleed too.
Bleed is important - If you don't add bleed then the object stops at the
foredge of the paper. And if the blade trims/crops close to the object
but misses by a sliver - then you have a sliver of white on the printed
    piece, which is highly undesirable.
    So you need crop marks
so the printers know where exactly to cut the paper, and to cut into
the bleed so that you don't have slivers of white.
And yes you need crop marks even if you don't have bleed, if you
don't have any bleed it's likely that the edges of the paper are just
white, so there are no markings where to cut to give the correct size
that you want. So crop marks need to be included no matter what.
And the placement of crop marks is important. As I said earlier, crop marks are
for letting the guillotine operator know where to trim the page so that
it cuts into the bleed area. The bleed area to allow for mechanical,
physical and human error. And seen as the bleed can sometimes be
included in a final printed piece it is not desirable to have anything
other than bleed objects in the bleed area.
For this reason you offset your crop marks to be outside the bleed area. As I'm in
Europe I work mainly in millimeters, so I would set my Bleed Area to be 5
mm and I would set my crop marks to Offset by 6mm.
This ensures that the crop marks do not encroach the bleed area. If your crop  marks do
encroach the bleed area you run the risk of the crop
marks appearing on a final printed
    piece.
    So in Summary
Make sure you have bleed where necessary on your document.
Add the desired amount of bleed - in my case 5mm.
    Offset the crop marks
so they don't encroach the bleed area - in my case 6mm.

  • Wireless print job stuck in queue

C5180 print jobs from network are stuck in queue and won't print.  I've reinstalled driver, etc.  Does print from a USB cable connection.  Any ideas?

I've got a similar problem with the officejet 5510 (multifunction) attached by USB to XP computer.  I can print direct (connected by USB) and wirelessly from my windows 7 laptop.  I can print direct (USB) from my Mac OS 10.4.11  However, when I print wirelessly from the Mac, the print job shows up in the que on the XP machine with the 5510 attached, but wont print.  I have to clear the spool from the command line.
I've set up the 5510 wirelessly by using the advanced windows printing via Samba, by Lpd to the IP address, and by simply adding the printer in the work group.  All three ways result in network traffic (I see it on the firewall log) and result in a document queued.
since there is no 5510 officejet (mutlifunction), I have set up the printer with the cups/gutenprint 5.2.7 profiles using several different printers - generic officejet, deskjet 950c, officejet 5110, designjet 5500ps, designjet 5000PS HP 9085MFP.
I can't get the print job out of the queue/spool and into the printer.
    Any thoughts?

  • Officejet 4620 prints from HP Printer Assistant but shows as offline for normal print jobs

I just purchased an Officejet 4620 to use wirelessly on our home network -- we have two Thinkpads running  Windows 7 64-bit.  I followed the installation instructions and successfully printed out test pages using both the Printer Properties page in Windows and the HP Printer Assistant (which, by the way, shows that the printer is online and ready).  However, when I try to print from any other program (Word, Chrome, etc.), after a moment or two I get an error message saying the printer is offline and asking if I want to cancel the print job.  Yet when I check the online status, it again shows that it is online and I can, again, successfully print a test page.
What could possibly be causing this?  It makes no sense to me.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    Hi oyfpro,
The Xfinity router may need some tweaking.
Login to your router using the provided instructions by Xfinity and navigate to the wireless settings.
Change the channel to 11 or something less crowded.
Change the network encryption to WPA2 as it is the most secure and most reliable.
Last but not least, update the firmware on the Xfinity router to make sure it's fully up to date with everything.
    Thanks.

  • When I try and print an "Approach Plate, or Departure" from ForeFlight to my Epson Stylus NX430 using AirPrint the image is resized. How can I print without it resizing. I want to have the plate print in the original size so I can use it.

When I try and print an "Approach Plate, or Departure" from ForeFlight to my Epson Stylus NX430 using AirPrint the image is resized. How can I print without it resizing. I want to have the plate print in the original size so I can use it. Is this an Apple, Epson, or Foreflight Issue? I just purchased the printer so I can return it and get a different model or brand. I spoke to Epson and the suggestions given did not resolve the issue. I have cut the paper down to the size of the plate roughly 5.5x8 and it still try's to print at 8.5x11. I have also requested help through ForeFlights Tech help but have yet to receive an answer.

  • Prob. exec. print job from RFC which im calling Web Dynpro java in Portal

    Hi,
Ive got a problem executing a print job from an RFC which im calling in Java web Dynpro Application in Portal. Im using an Acess Method G: for Front End Printing but Order gets stuck with the Status "Waiting" "Front end unavailable".
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!!!

    HI,
I dont think you would be able to do this. Instead, you need to get the content from RFC into WD java and print from the browser.

  • HP LaserJet Pro M1217nfw Multifunction Printer –job prints repeatedly by AirPrint from iOS 6 devices

HP would like to make customers aware of an issue with its LJ M1217nfw and LJ M1218nfs printers. When using AirPrint from an iOS 6 device (e.g. iPhone or iPad) with the iOS 6 OS, the print job will print continuously unless the customer cancels the job manually.
The reason: the latest FW available on HP.com (version 20120901) does not support AirPrint from Apple iOS devices (e.g., iPhone or iPad) with iOS6 OS. This will be fixed in the next version of firmware.
To avoid this issue, please use this workaround while waiting of the fix in the next release of FW. The previous verion of FW (version20120206) for M1217nfw does not have this issue.
To deal with this issue, customer can select any one of the operations to terminate the print job:
Cancel job manually in ‘Print Center’ from  iOS device
Double –click the Home button to display recently used apps
Swipe left or right to find ‘Print Center’
Tap ‘Printer Center’ and click ‘Cancel Printing’
Another option is to Power Cycle the printer.

  • How do I cancel a print job from my computer to my HP Photosmart 7510. Touchscreen is unavailable.

    HP Photosmart 7510 All-in-One CQ877a Model C3112; Operating system Windows Vista 64-bit.
Can't find how to easily cancel a print job. The touch screen is unavailable during the printing process (just shows the HP icon spinning around during the print process). There isn't a "cancel" button or touch area to cancel. We're wasting ink and paper by not being able to cancel jobs easily. Read the 24-page manual and it doesn't mention it. Looked on line for an answer, can't seem to locate one. Can always go to Start, Printers, and select the printer and then cancel from within there, but by then, the job is finished.

There should be a cancel button (X) on the printer. Check out the pic below taken from page 7 of the User manual for your printer:
    http://goo.gl/mW7Fy
Alternately, instead of going the Start button route, did you check out the Final tip at the bottom of the article?
    "Final Tip (Shortcut)
Before using the method above to open the print queue, look for the printer icon in the notification area. If you see it, double-click it to bring up the print queue. "

  • How to include the URL in the name of the print job when printing from FF

We log all print activity in our company and it would be helpful to be able to identify print jobs from Firefox, however as only a web page's <TITLE> content is used as the print job name, I was wondering if there was a way to either use the URL as the print job name, or even prefix the print job name as "Mozilla Firefox" to identify jobs from this application?

Thank you for your reply but that's the print job content, i.e. page header / footer will have the URL typed into it. I'm after the name of the print job, i.e. as it appears in the print queue. For that I cannot find an option.
I'm wondering whether a plug-in could do this, replace the normal print function with an identical one that uses the URL as the print job name.

  • Page Count Missing From Print Job Status Window

When I print a multi-page document from TextEdit or AppleWorks, the Print Status window does not show the page count. Instead it always shows "Sheet 1 of 1".
Both TextEdit and AppleWorks show the document as having four pages. A print preview from AppleWorks confirms the document does have four pages. Yet when the document is printed the Print Status window continues to show only "Sheet 1 of 1" with no indication that the document actually has a total of four pages. Nor does it show which pages is currently printing.
I am running Mac OS X 10.5.8. If I recall correctly, previous versions of Mac OS X showed both the total page count and the currently printing page number, which incremented as the job printed. As it is, there is no way to know the progress of a large print job.
    Any idea what is wrong?
    Thanks.

Could some check their print status window while a job is printing? Does it always show "Sheet 1 of 1" or does it show the page count that increments as the job prints?
    Thanks.

  • Why do print jobs from Firefox create paper jam in my HP printer?

Running v3.6.13 in Win7 64-bit OS on HP laptop. Printer is a wireless networked HP Photosmart C7280. Print jobs from web pages result in a paper jam every time. Print jobs of documents from other applications as well as web pages from Internet Explorer all print normally. Jobs sent from 2 Macs in same network print normally. I think I've narrowed this down to Firefox being the only app to cause this problem.
The print jobs sent from the HP laptop send one blank page through the printer in front of each printed page. Printer properties, advanced, for the printer show a "separator page" for each print job which cannot be changed or disabled, AFAIK. The Firefox print jobs send the blank page correctly but the next page on which the job should be printed is the one that jams and stalls the printer. I remove the jammed paper, reset the printer and nothing more happens - the job is ended, nothing in the queue.

    Hi @annmade ,
I will certainly do my best to help you remove the rest of the paper jam inside the printer.
I have provided some documentation for removing paper jams.  Please go to page 69 of the manual.
HP Color LaserJet CP1210 Series Printer.
I would suggest to try running a plain piece of paper through, by running a cleaning page through the printer. It might help since you are unable to access the rest of the pieces of paper inside the printer. Resolving Print Quality Issues. Go to Solution six: Clean inside the product. I don't have any documents for disassembling the printer.

  • "could not start print job" when printing to PDF from Lightroom

Any body else had this problem and fixed it??  When I print from Lightroom to Adobe PDF I get "could not start print job" and the print job hangs.
    I have:
    Lightroom 2.5 64 bit
    Acrobat Standard 9
Windows 7 Ultimata 64bit but I had this problem with Vista 64 bit. Somtimes it would work sometimes not - now with Windows 7 Not - always.
I can print to acrobat from every other application, even Photoshop CS3 - just not Lightroom.
It's terribly frustrating.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Andrew,
I can print from other apps, just printed a doc from open office.
OS Windows 8.1. Have been printing from this computer and setup previously, it seems to have been an intermitent problem that has now become a consistent problem.
I've updated the printer firmware, and Windows is up to date.
Seems to be a lightroom issue, and I'm getting a bit nervous because I have a show opening on February 15th I need to print for.

Why is the printed font so small on a print job I send from my email to my new HP Photosmart C510? I sent it via HP ePrint from a lotus notes based email account. It was just a text message but it was so small on the print out I could not begin to read it.

At the document you plan to print, go to "file" in upper right corner.  Select "print preview".  Atop that window, select font size.  Recommended minimum 60%.  May need to adjust with different documents.
