Resizing RoboHelp Webhelp Screen Size

Is it possible to apply the following setting to a webhelp project within RoboHelp, not to the internet browser)?
Set the webhelp project to open in a separate internet browser window rather than opening on another tab in the same browser session.
Set the webhelp project to open to a specific, pre-defined size rather than opening at full screen resolution.
My customers want to see the webhelp window open in a separate window and be resized so that they can read the Help and view the application at the same time.

That cannot be defined from RoboHelp, it is dependent on how the help is called.
Willam van Weelden has some excellent information about calling help on his site at http://www.wvanweelden.eu

  • How can I get my movie clip to resize according to screen size?

    I have a movie clip (startMenu); inside it there are buttons, text, and graphics. This is a game I am making, and it will be played on different screen sizes of Android. This is the code I have so far:
    stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE;
    stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT
    startMenu.addEventListener(Event.RESIZE, resizeLayout);
    function resizeLayout(e:Event):void
        setPosition();
    function setPosition():void
         startMenu.x = (stage.stageWidth - startMenu.width) / 2;
            startMenu.y = (stage.stageHeight - startMenu.height) /2;
    When I run it on different phones using debugging, it locks on the left hand corner, but does stretch out to fit the whole screen. What should I do?

    try changing
    stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE;
    to
    stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.EXACT_FIT;

  • Resizing image to screen size..

    Hi Guys,
    I m writing kind of a map information program in which I need to send back an image to the user on their mobile device. Being a novice I found lot of information as to how to do it. I also got the screen size using canvas methods. But, now I m in a dilema wherein I need to decide whether I should compress the image on server side or the client side ?
    I presume client side will take away a lot of space since I need to implement a routine for that.
    So my question is, what should I do ? implement on server side or on client side ?
    Thanks for ur help,
    --siddhs

    You can resize the images using JAI on the server side. Add caching and you will have decent speed. When the client connects, it should send the width and height. The server uses the width and height to scale the original image. The server stores the scaled image for later use before send it to the client.
    The slideshow example application uses server resizing.
    The midlet requests a image using the form below:
    http://fotomica.astrientlabs.com/slideshow?c=cars&li=13&h=200&w=100
    Hostj2me.com has an image proxy. You can get scaled images suitable for display on a mobile phone by adding the length and width to the URL. For example:
    http://www.hostj2me.com/imageproxy?u=http://static.flickr.com/26/45983803_08b3658ad8_b_d.jpg&h=250&w=400&key=<your api key here>
    You can also specify the output format.
    http://www.hostj2me.com/imageproxy?u=http://static.flickr.com/26/45983803_08b3658ad8_b_d.jpg&w=400&key=<your api key here>&f=PNG
    I think the format choices are PNG, BMP, JPEG, and TIFF.
    To get an API key sign up at hostj2me.com and go to the my profile page. The key is listed as the last item in the first paragraph. Copy and paste the key to the URL.

  • Whenever i am using my laptop and my palms are on the base of the laptop and i am typing all of sudden... my screen size keeps resizing bigger or smaller

    i try to keep my thumb palms off the mouse pad when i am typing but every now and then my screen resizes larger or smaller until i take my left palm off the keyboard base its only when my left palm is resting on the base next to the touch pad. i type pretty fast so it gets annoying and yes it also jumps screens or reverts back to previous message and i have to choose ctrl z to undo and get back to my message i was typing... it also switches tabs on me as well... not sure why my palm being on the left of the keypad on the base should effect anything but it does after a while. and i have to stop what i am doing...and go to the firefox menu and change the screen size back down to 100% sometimes it goes up to 200-300 other times it goes down to 70-80% i find it annoying i i wish there was a way to turn off the screen resize in the setup panel. if its just left to be 100% i am happy with that... i don't need it to be bigger or smaller... there should be a way to LOCK it down... i understand that there are people out there with eye problems and needs to have the screen size increase using the + or - but there should be a lock so it just stays no matter what is happening on my keypad or touch pad or base of the pad... that screen size will not increase or decrease. unless i turn off the lock... perhaps this is something they can implement in the next version or do a quick update of the browser

    If the Screen size 1024*728 then JFrame will be visible a the corner of the screen.
    I would like to resize by JFrame screen dynamically as per the System screen size.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Pradeep.

    use this :
    jframe.setBounds(new Rectangle(Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize()));

  • Resizable page for different screen sizes but with static image content. Shall I use media query?

    I’m making a page that has of mostly image content. It’s a large circle in the middle so I want it to be centered vertically and horizontally. I also want it to stay centered and resized proportionally for different screen sizes. I’ve read about media query but it seems to me that the elements just become fluid. Can I make the elements stay in place using the media query?
    I’m working in Dreamweaver CS5.5

    Here's the code I'm working with now, I've taken away the things that I don't really understand.
    It's working but I guess it won't hold when I start with the media queries.

  • PSE 7.0 Editor - Screen Size 1680 x 1050 Resizes

    I have a Fuji monitor with 1680 x 1050 screen size (20"). When I open the Editor the display is always smaller, like 1280 x 1024. For work I maximize the screen. Next time I start the editor it is again at 1280 x 1024.
    The Organizer remembers the large size - no problems here.
    Any ideas what is wrong?
    Thanks,
    Alexander

    There is some evidence that PSE 7 gets mildly confused by higher-resolution screens. A number of people have reported that the scroll bars for the Editor's font list and ICC printer profile list don't always display at 1680 x 1050. If that's the case, then probably the only think you can do is delete the preferences and restart.

    APDivs cannot be resized.
    APDivs in primary layouts won't work in Responsive Web Design.
    APDivs are a very poor layout method.
    For this reason, Adobe removed APDivs from Dreamweaver CC.
    Example of Fluid Grid Layout with floats & margins, no APDivs required.

  • Screen size smaller than 1024x768?

    Hi all,
    I'm working on a project that is being done on 1024x768
    screen size. I don't get to resize the screen as with widescreen
    monitor it gets a bid odd when resized for a non-native resolution.
    So my questions is, do you reckon that there are many computer out
    there with screen res less than 1024x768? The project is going to
    be sent to an target audience in England, medium to large company
    sized. Thanks for your input

    thanks. Went back for a second look and they are indeed the same size. I was thrown off by how the menu in the newest version is structured. Is that new menu style available as an update, or only specific to the new classics?

    I developed an application considering my monitors screen size. When my application was run on another machine whose monitor was set to a different resolution, parts of the application when off the screen. How can I make sure that when my application runs on any machine it will fit onto that screen.

    Hi,
    select File/VI Properties. In VI properties window select Category->Window Size. Select 3-rd option "Scale All Objects on panel as the Window Resizes".

  • Most efficient way to handle Image sizes with respect to Mobile Screen Size

    Hi all,
    I and trying to find the best possible way to manage Images with respect to the size of mobile screen.
    If I have an image that is best fit on mobile screen size (176 x 144) then how can I make it best fit for (128 x 128) screen size ?
    rizzz86

    Hey Rizzz86,
    You could also scale down a higher resolution image to fit smaller screens, however you will find that resizing by factors other than 2, 4, 8 is harder to achieve with a decent quality and much slower on lower spec devices.
    You could also display 128x128 image centered on 176 x 144 screen with black borders around it.
    It will look not that bad (i.e. borders of 24 pixels top and bottom and 8 pixels left and right) and will cost you nothing in terms of space or processing.
    In the end having an image in 3 different sizes will not increase the MIDlet size by much, unless you are having tens of such images (for example custom UI elements).
    Best solution is to have a bit of both I think. Personally I use scaling down by factors that are powers of 2 and displaying with the black borders.

  • TOC, streaming video and screen size

    Hello,
    A recent project is shaping up to be a video based course.  The purpose of the project is to introduce and explain a sales software package.
    Before I start to work I need to ensure Captivate 7 can cover three basic requirements;
    1. The end user needs must have access to a table of contents so they can switch between slides/content and have the freedom to move about.  I know that Captivate 7 can accommodate this.
    2. To be able to embed streaming video.   It is important  that the video appears to be a part of the content and not open to a new window at anytime.  Also, the rewind and pause buttons for the video are controlled by Captivate 7 inbuilt buttons and not those of the video streaming host.
    3.  Ensure the screen size for the learning package is restricted to a specific size.  Reason being, some users will have desktop screens at 1920 x 1080 and this will "blur" the video content if stretched to that size.
    Might Captivate 7 fulfill items two and 3?
    Your feedback and thoughts are most appreciated!
    Sincere thanks

    Hate to answer my own question, but I figured out a way to do what I want.
    1. open movie file in QT.
    2. Resize it and save.
    3. Open file with skin movie (see link in my orig post).
    4. then view < normal.
    It basically fits it to the screen which is the exact dimensions of the movie. If I do not view<normal then the movie is offset I can not even see it. And resetting the offset does nothing.
    If anyone has a better way (less steps) to get a borderless movie to resize and fit to screen, please let me know. This works but it is cumbersome.
    Thanks.

  • How To Make Website Resize On Different Screens

    Hi, I created a website on Dreamweaver CS3. The website is great and all but whenever I see it on my laptop it fits perfect on the screen but when I use a larger monitor the website looks a bit small.
    I did some reading and apparently I made the mistake of using ' <none> as my layout so everything is measured on pixels. How can I make it so that the page resizes depending on the screen size?
    I will post my code. and website on here!
    Website: www.auto-republic.com
    Code: http://pastebin.com/h8DLq7VK
    Thanks in advance!

    Actually, your mistake was using Absolute Positioning for most of this which removes content from the normal document flow.  You should rebuild without any positioning.   Here's why APDivs are pure poison in primary layouts.
