Resizing tab controls

Hi ,
is there any way to resize controls on a tab that is attached to a splitter when operating splitter (the mode "splitter sizes control" is selected).
Splitter only resizes tabs itself, not the controls on the tab. Some controls on the tab, for instance, are disappeared when splitter scale the tab down.
thanks for any help.

Associate a panel to that tab with GetPanelHandleFromTabPage()
Maybe that's enough for automatic resizes (which I don't use).
Otherwise:
Then give that panel a callback: SetPanelAttribute(Pnl,
ATTR_CALLBACK_FUNCTION_POINTER, cbp_Something);
Then within that function catch the EVENT_PANEL_SIZE event and do what you
want.

  • When I resize the font for the Page Labels on the tab control in LabVIEW 7, the Increment/Decrement size gets messed up. Is there a solution to this problem or is this a bug?

    I have noticed in LabVIEW 7.0 and 7.1 that when the text in the page labels display is enlarged, that the arrows enlarge but the top arrow enlarges more then the small arrow but then when you decrease the text size, the arrows stay remain large. This is not a problem in 6.1 because the arrows aren't available. Is there a work around for this bug or do I have to use small text for these page label arrows to look right?

    I must admit that I've never used the page labels display and it does look like a bug. You can fix it however. Select the tab control and choose Advanced>Customize. In the control editor, select the page label control and do the same thing. You should be in the control editor for the numeric control and then you can go to edit mode and enlarge the decrement arrow to make it the same size as the increment.

  • Scaling of Tab-Control do not work correct

    When I use the option "rescale objects on the front panel when resizing" in the "window size" category inside the VI properties, then my tab control has a wrong behavior. When I increase my window size, the tab control increases correctly. When I decrease it again, the tab control do not decrease and overlays the other controls.
    Also a horizontal decoration line becomes a transversal line and my string control seems to scale different from the other controls so I get overlay effects again.
    Does anybody know some hints how I can fix this ? If not this feature is not usable and I get some problems with customers with different monitor resolutions.
    Many thanks for any idea
    Thomas

    Yes, there is a known issue with the scaling of tab controls with the window size. This will be fixed in the next release of LabVIEW. For now there is a workaround that might help:
    Only scale the tab control as the panel resizes. Leave the "Scale all Objects on front panel as the window resizes" unchecked. Select the tab-control and go to edit->Scale Object with panel. This will not scale the objects within the pages.
    In general please refer to this document for further information about misplacements that may occurr with the rescale option.

  • How do i set tab control page size programmatically?

    Hi,
    I have a tab control in my program and each page has different amounts of controls on it. I would like to know how I can make the tab control pages resize automatically, only to fit the controls on the page and not have extra space underneath that other pages require.

    You can use the tab control property 'PaneDimension' to
    programatically change the size of the tab control. To
    programatically find the areas occupied by the controls on each page:
    Use the 'Pages' property of the tab control to get a reference to the
    desired page; wire that to a property node and select the
    'ControlsOnPage[]' property; iterate through all the control
    refere
    nces, getting the position and bounds of each control, using
    'Max & Min' and shift registers to find the extent occupied by the
    controls.

  • PDA tab control refresh?

    I am using a tab control on a PDA app (Pocket PC 2003, LV 7.1). If I resize or replot to a graph on an inactive tab, the graph is pulled to the front regardless of what tab is selected. The graph will cover text and some of the controls/indicators in the currently active tab.
    I tried using the show/hide control VIs, but it happens even with the graph indicator set to hidden.
    Anyone else experiencing this? Workarounds?
    Thanks,
    Ryan

    I built a similar VI and came to the same conclusion. The attached VI demonstrates the issue I reported in my initial post. It is related to the Configue PDA XY Scales VI.

  • Design a WPF Tab control similar to the Wpf Ribbon

    Hi,
      I have a requirement to show the list of tools similar to that of a Microsoft word's Ribbon, but then i find some limitations in the Wpf Ribbon i..e it can not be completely customised, for example- The Ribbon tab header's height has to be increased
    when selected as shown in the figure, but I couldn't  find any relevant solution to accomplish it, so I have decided to use the native Tab Control and make it look like a Ribbon bar as suggested by  Andy
    ONeill
    Expected Ribbon Tab header Style(Done using native Tab Control)
       But the issue here is I'm not able to handle the resize behaviour of the Wpf tab control.. when the tab control is resized it has to arrange all the elements in the same way that the ribbon bar does
    on  Dynamic Resizing..
    can you help me building a Tab control with this feature...
    Thanks,
    Sai Kiran Reddy

    Thanks for your valuable reply Mr. Andy ONeill can you please tell me how to mimic the Dynamic
    Resizing behaviour of Ribbon bar using the WPF Tab Control..
    There is an awful lot of functionality in a ribbon.
    And it's pretty tricky to use.
    Personally, I usually go with a tabcontrol and then add functionality I need from there.
    Often two tabitems with horizontally arranged listviews are sufficient.
    You can see that approach in use in my article:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/28209.wpf-entity-framework-mvvm-walk-through-1.aspx
    <TabControl HorizontalAlignment="Left" x:Name="CommandTab">
    <TabItem Header="Navigate" FontSize="10">
    <ListView ItemsSource="{Binding Views}" BorderBrush="Transparent" FontSize="12" FontWeight="Bold"
    ScrollViewer.CanContentScroll="False"
    >
    <ListView.ItemsPanel>
    <ItemsPanelTemplate>
    <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"></StackPanel>
    </ItemsPanelTemplate>
    </ListView.ItemsPanel>
    <ListView.ItemTemplate>
    <DataTemplate>
    <Button Command="{Binding Navigate}"
    BorderThickness="0" Height="32" Width="100"
    Background="{StaticResource LightBrightGradientBrush}"
    Foreground="{StaticResource DarkDullBrush}"
    >
    <TextBlock Text="{Binding ViewDisplay}"
    TextAlignment="Center"
    />
    </Button>
    </DataTemplate>
    </ListView.ItemTemplate>
    </ListView>
    </TabItem>
    <TabItem Header="Edit" x:Name="EditTabItem" FontSize="10">
    <ListView ItemsSource="{Binding Commands}" BorderBrush="Transparent" FontSize="12" FontWeight="Bold"
    ScrollViewer.CanContentScroll="False"
    >
    <ListView.ItemsPanel>
    <ItemsPanelTemplate>
    <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"/>
    </ItemsPanelTemplate>
    </ListView.ItemsPanel>
    <ListView.ItemTemplate>
    <DataTemplate>
    <Button Command="{Binding Send}"
    BorderThickness="0"
    Margin="0" Padding="0"
    >
    <Path Data="{Binding IconGeometry}" Stretch="Uniform"
    Style="{StaticResource PathOpacityStyle}"
    Fill="{StaticResource MidDullBrush}" Width="32" Height="32"/>
    <Button.ToolTip>
    <TextBlock Text="{Binding CommandDisplay}"/>
    </Button.ToolTip>
    </Button>
    </DataTemplate>
    </ListView.ItemTemplate>
    </ListView>
    </TabItem>
    </TabControl>
    By the way.
    I think if you really work at it you can customise the ribbon by re templating the thing.
    On one project I ran  that work and wrangling the riibbon generally turned out to pretty much eat up all the time of one of my guys though.
    Hope that helps.

  • Scale Object with Panel, but what about inside a Tab control?

    The Scale Object with Panel option works very well for simple UI
    objects.  I like to use it for VIs that display tables or
    multicolumn listboxes, etc.  I am finding a limitation when I use
    the Tab control.  If I have a table or listbox in each tab, I
    would like them to scale with the panel.  I would also like the
    tab to scale.  It should look like an Excel workbook where all
    sheets scale with the window even though they are each on their own
    tab.  If I could only Group the various tables / lists with the
    Tab itself....
    This wouldn't be such an issue if the Bounds property of the
    multicolumn listbox was writable.  I can set the number of rows
    and columns, but column size can be variable and not uniform across all
    columns.  Also, that solution looks and behaves much different
    from the Scale Object with Panel approach.... not to mention the extra
    coding required.
    I'm guessing that this amounts to a feature request, but if anyone has a present-version workaround, I'd love to hear about it.

    Hi Kalin T,
    Thanks for your prompt reply. I am running version 8.01. My problem is that i cannot select "Scale object with pane" for the controls inside a Tab control if the Tab control "Scale object with pane" is turned on. I want both the Tab control and the controls inside to be scaled, for instance an Waveform graph or an textbox  when i resize my main window.

  • Customizing Tab control and Enum

    I am trying to do two things here regarding customizing controls.
    The first is to add a down-arrow decoration to an enum so that it looks kind of like a menu ring (click the down arrow to drop down the selections).  If I simply paste it on top of the control, the decoration will intercept the click and not drop the selections down.  I want to have the control colored, so putting it behind and making the ring text background transparent doesn't really work either.  If I make it part of the "Ring Text" background element, it's fine for that one size, but if I resize the control it gets all stretched out.
    The second is to modify the "Page Labels Display" in a tab control.  The only selection allowed when attempting to customize the tab control is to "replace" the page labels display with a different control type.  Every enum or ring that I've tried has simply beeped at me with no replacement.  I would really like to get the aforementioned Ring-styled enum in this box as well.
    One other quirk that I haven't noticed before (Maybe since I haven't done a lot of work with tabs in the past), but when I'm trying to get context help for anything inside of a tab, the only thing that shows up is the context help for the tab itself.  Is that "working as expected"?
    Regards,
    Mike

    hi Mike,
    there is another discussion forum covering your first question, but it sounds like your best bet would be a ComboBox:
    This will give you the appearance you want, and behaves the same as an Enum.
    In order to set up a similar drop down menu of the pages of a Tab Control, it will be a little more indirect. Take a look at the attached example, which populates a combo box with the pages of a Tab Control.
    That quirk you mentioned with the Context Help and Tab Controls is a known bug, and is fixed in LabVIEW 2011. Hope this helps!

  • How can I set the tab order of text box controls on each page of a tab control?

    I need to be able to select the tabbing order of individual controls on a single page of a tabbed control. How??

    In LV 6.1 an up you should be ablel to right click on the edge of the tab control when the tab-page in question is selected.
    The bttom selcetion in the pop-up is "Reoder controls in page..."
    selecting this option will switch editing modes to allow you to specify the ored, just like in a cluster.
    I seem to remeber in older versions you had to drag the tabable controls off the tab control, specify the tabbing oder and then drag them back on. The oldest version I have on this machine is 6.1 so that all I can speak for at the moment.
    I hope this helps,

  • Can you print all the tab control's contents and include the tabs?

    We are trying to generate a report that includes the contents of a tab control (graphs, text).  Using the Append Control Image to Report.vi, we are only able to print out the active tab and the tab is cut off of the image. How can we generate reports that include all the tab pages and their contents and include the labeling tabs?
    Thanks in advance.
    Jim

    I do have a workaround for makinging the prints but it looks like some sort of cropped screensave that cuts off the tabs.  In my sample I was printing out 3 of the tab controls and you can see there are three by the cut off tabs.  Is there a setting to allow for more of the graph and its surroundings to be "captured"?

    Make the tab control a control and not an indicator. If you want to write

  • Data Origin Types not filled in the tab "Control Data" of BP interface

    Hello experts,
    I have loaded the clients from ECC6.0 to CRM 4.0.
    Before I have loaded the clients I have maintained the data origin type for the BP in spro -> cross application components -> SAP Business Partner -> Business partner -> Basic settings -> Data Origin -> Maintain Data Origin Type.
    After I have done the load initial of clients, the field  "Data Origin" is empty in  the tab "Control Data" in BP interface. If I do F4 in the field appear the configuration that I did in spro appear.
    For this field will appear filled I'll need to do more configurations in spro?
    Best regards,
    Mary

    Hi Mary,
    The middleware does not fill this field in BP master data. You can maintain data origin type in SPRO, however the mBdoc does not use this customizing in order to fill this field.
    Please try to use the BADI CRM_DATAEXCHG_BADI in order to fill this field during master data download.
    It hope it helps.

  • Horizontal tabs when they are on the left side of tab control

    I have a tab control for a touch screen where I was going to use buttons along the left side to change tabs, and hide the tabs. However, I realized I can put the tabs on the left side of the tab control and remove my buttons all together. It's a really poor design aspect of tab controls that the text is sideways when the tabs are on the left or right side.
    I've looked into it and found no way to re-orient the text.
    However you can put images on the tabs instead of text, and the images can be of text (correctly oriented of course).
    The attached code can be used to generate such a tab control.
