Resolve SharePoint Central Administration Critical Issues

In the photo I have tried to fix the critical issues, but have had no luck.
The top three issues are the most important ones i want to get rid of.
Please provide steps to resolving these issues permanently.
"One or more servers not responding" is a stop/start timer issue with SPTimerV4 which is relating to a specific server of mine (Portal10A). I go to this server to start SPTimerV4 in the cmd. When I start the timer, this critical
issue goes away. However, the SPTimerV4 randomly stops again (4 hours later to a day later). Just starting the SpTimerV4 is only a temporary solution, until the SPTimerV4 stops again and I have to restart.
Thank you!

1. Ensure that SharePoint 2010 Timer Service is in Started mode under Start > Services.
2. Ensure your SharePoint 2010 Timer Service is running under your Farm Account. This Farm Account must be part of your admin group and ensure that this account has admin permissions to run services.
The farm account is also referred to as the database access account and is used
as the application pool identity for Central Administration, and as the process account for the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 Timer service.
Plan for
administrative and service accounts in SharePoint (This article is also applicable to 2010 version)
3. If both of above is already done and issue not resolved yet then restart the SharePoint 2010 Timer Service.
4. If all above does not resolves your issue then please re-run SharePoint Configuration Wizard and restart your SharePoint Application Server.

    Hi karabo,
According to your error message, it says that the ajax.dll (Version=5.7.20.2) assembly is missing.
As far as I know, SharePoint Central Administration web application does not refer to the ajax.dll assembly by OOB.
Do you have any custom solution which reference ajax.dll assembly? If so, please undeploy it before your solution is working fine.
Also you can try to copy the ajax.dll assembly to Global Assembly Cache or your Central Administration web application Bin directory.

  • Services missing in SharePoint Central Administration

    Hi,
In SharePoint Central Administration -> Application Management -> Manage Service Application.
I could see only the following services
    - Application Discovery and Load Balancer Service Application
    - Security Token Service Application
    - Usage and Health data collection
Rest all the other services are missing.
Please advise how to get all the other missing services back. The Sharpoint is installed on our build server and want to integrate it with TFS. As it is LIVE project server and CI is also configured on it, would reinstalling Sharepoint again on it,
will create some issue/problem for the TFS.
    Please help and advise
    Thanks
    Irfan Khan

    Hi,
I understand that you want to get the services on your farm. I can see from your first post that you are looking at the service applications page, not the Services on server page. You need to first check the ‘Manage Services on server’ page. Make sure that
the services you need have already been started. Then you can go to the ‘Manage Service Application’ page to create the service applications.
If you want to use the PerformancePoint Service, you need to make sure that you are using SharePoint 2010 enterprise edition. Check the SharePoint edition here:
Open Central Administration> Upgrade and Migration> Enable Enterprise Feature.
Here you can enter your enterprise version product key to enable enterprise feature.

  • Sharepoint Central Administration appears to not load css or scripts

We have SBS 2011 with Sharepoint and i'm currently trying to enable a few features in the Central Administration. Our companyweb site works great but when logging in to Central Administration all we get is what appears to be raw HTML and background javascript
errors which cause a number of the buttons to not work at all.
I have uninstalled the Central Administration and reinstalled it but the problem persists.
I have checked the permissions at
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\1033\STYLES
And everything seems to suggest files are available and security is set correctly.
I've also tried to run in Firefox and Chrome with the same results.
Does anyone have any experience of this issue or where to start troubleshooting it.

    Hi ,
Please try re-run the "SharePoint 2010 Products Configuration Wizard" for your SharePoint farm, see if it would fix this issue.

  • SharePoint Central Administration: High Availability and Load Balancing

Running Central Administration on more than one server in the farm is 100% supported and indeed a recommended best practice on SharePoint 2010.
Is Load Balancing on Central Administration

  • Ribbon options not working for SharePoint Central Administration

    Hi,
I am able to see the options on the Ribbon of Central Administration, but clicking on the options is not working.
Have tried, Starting the Central Admin with Admin account, Setting user account control to never notify, adding the site to the trusted sites, resynced the SP servers time etc.
    But nothing helped.
The ribbon is not working only for the Central Administration, it is working for web applications created.
I could not create a new web application, create a new service application, could not select a webapplication or simply i cannot do any thing on Central Administration.
Need help on this, Thanks in advance.

Couple of things, you can check..
    1) Run the Internet Explorer as Administrator and then open CA,
    2) make sure your Admin account is in Local Admin group,

    Please try below mentioned steps:
    1. Central Administration > Monitoring > Review job definitions > Look for following timer job "Application Server Administration Service Timer Job" > Disable
    2. Then open windows administrative services (services.msc), stop SharePoint Timer Service
    3. Clear SharePoint Timer configuration cache by following steps mentioned in below blog:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/jamesway/archive/2011/05/23/sharepoint-2010-clearing-the-configuration-cache.aspx
    4. Start SharePoint Timer Service and give it a few seconds so that the new XML files from the location you deleted then are re-populated.
5.Central Administration > Monitoring > Review job definitions > Look for following timer job "Application Server Administration Service" Timer Job > Enable

  • Team Foundation Server 2013 update 4 New Install - Error 503 Service Unavailable for Sharepoint Central Admin

    Hello,
I ran a new install of Team Foundation Server and let it install the built in SharePoint pieces on a single server setup. After the install i'm able to access the
http://teamfoundation:8080/tfs/ address without issue but am unable to create a project. When I attempt to create a project I get the following error:
TF30172: You do not have permission to create a new team project (when checking security i'm a member of the project collection administrators and Team Foundation Administrators)
This led me to look at the sharepoint central administration site where I receive the following error:
    Error 503 Service Unavailable
I've gone through and validated the identity is set correctly in IIS for the following services:
    SharePoint Central Admin v4
    SharePoint15AppPool
The SharePoint Web Services Root is set as LocalService instead of the domain user.
The identity domain user is setup as local administrator on the Team Foundation Server. They are all set to use .net v4.0.30319 with integrated Pipeline mode.
    Any help would be great!

  • SQL Server 2012 PowerPivot System Service not visible in Central Administration

    Hi all,
I want to test PowerPivot 2012 on the following configuration:
    - Windows Server 2008 R2
    - Sharepoint 2010 - Enterprise edition
    - SQL Server 2008 R2
    - PowerPivot for Sharepoint<o:p></o:p>
As such, I downloaded SQL Server 2012 Evaluation and tried to upgrade SQL Server 2008 PowerPivot for Sharepoint instance to SQL Server 2012 PowerPivot
for Sharepoint. It didn't work as it's not possible to upgrade from Enterprise to Evaluation edition without a pid.
Next, I uninstalled the existing SQL Server 2008 PowerPivot for Sharepoint and I installed the SQL Server 2012 PowerPivot for Sharepoint.
I started to configure PowerPivot in Central administration (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee210609.aspx) , but I got stuck at the 2nd step Create and Configure a PowerPivot
Service Application (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee210685.aspx) in Central Administration.
The problem is that both SQL Integration Service  and SQL Server PowerPivot System service are not visible in Central administration > Manage
services on server; however they are visible and running in Windows Administrative Tools > Services.
Do you think the services are missing in Sharepoint Central Administration because the Sharepoint configuration database is on SQL Server 2008, while the Powerpivot instance is on SQL Server 2012 ?

    Thank you for the suggestion.
Meanwhile I have managed to solve the problem. What I've done:
    - remove PowerPivot configuration using the Power Configuration Tool
    - uninstall PowerPivot
    - reinstall PowerPivot
    - run PowerPivot Configuration Tool - I still got the parent service error
    - remove PowerPivot configuration using the Power Configuration Tool
    - run PowerPivot Configuration Tool - this time I received another error regarding the user that runs SQL Server Integration services
    - check  Sql Server Analysis Service account in Central Administration > Security > Service accountsManage service account - it seems that it was running under Local System account, although in Administrative Tools > Services it appeared to
be run by my domain account
    - set a domain account for Sql Server Analysis Service in Central Administration
    - run the PowerPivot Configuration Tool - this time it went smoothly.

  • Central Administration not Available, STSADM password reset errors "job-admin-apppool-change" already exists

    Hi Everyone,
I think I've shot myself in the foot by not properly following set up instructions.
I have a two-fold problem.  Firstly, my Sharepoint Central Administration V4 site is showing
Service Not Available.  This seems to be related to the credentials the
Central Administration V4 Application Pool - hitting Test Settings within
IIS Manager for the site shows an Authentication and Authorization error for the credentials due to a bad password.
My reading indicates that I should run something to the effect of:
    %STSADM -o updatefarmcredentials -userlogin DOMAIN\username -password <new password as set via AD>
This runs into the following Error message
Error deploying administration application pool credentials. Another deployment may be active. An object of the type Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPAdminAppPoolCredentialDeploymentJobDefinition named "job-admin-apppool-change" already exists
under the parent Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPTimerService named "SPTimerV4".  Rename your object or delete the existing object.
I've tried searching out a solution but as yet have been unable to find a mechanism to resolve this error.  I have had a look through http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/sharepointadmin/thread/b7c17dac-1cd1-4f75-a031-e28e4fbfd2f7 but
it doesn't seem to relate to the same problems - as far as I know the account from which the command is being run is a farm administrator and the problem seems to be the existing job rather than permissions errors.
Your help will be much appreciated.
    Stuart

    Hi Stuart Weaver,
Firstly, please check if the SharePoint 2010 timer service is running. If not, please start it manually, then check the effect. In addition to this, you can try to
run SharePoint configuration wizard, then check the effect.
Note: when you start the SharePoint 2010 timer service, make sure you input the latest password. The steps are as follows:
Open services.msc, locate the SharePoint 2010 timer service, double click it, then click log on tab, input the updated password, then click apply.
    Hope this helps.
