Resource bundle in shared library?
Is it possible to create a resource bundle in a shared library so you can use the same resource bundle in different application?
We are creating different ADF application and each of them should use the same resource bundle.
I tried creating a new project that only contains the resource bundle and then add this to my jspx page:
<c:set var="res"
value="#{adfBundle['general.resources.generalBundle]}"/>When i do this, he can't find any entries. When i change the project properties and configure to use a single bundle for the entire project, this works.
How can i share a bundle so each application does not need to create or copy/paste the bundle?
Is it possible to deploy the bundle as a shared library? Even if their is nothing else, not even a single java class?

Try to create a JAR with the resource file in it (under /META-INF) and add it as a library in your project.
If it does not work, try to create a faces-config.xml file inside that directory that declares the resource file.
I think it gets merged at runtime with the config of your application and resource bundle should be available.

NoPermissionException when deploying a RAR inside a Shared library EAR.
Hello,
I have a deployment issue concerning a resource adapter in shared library.
I have an EAR containing a RAR. and an EJB jar with a stateless session EJB in charge of invoking the Resource Adapater (by lookup).
If I deploy this EAR as an application, it works.
But If I deploy this EAR as shared library and I link it to another EAR deployed as an application, I have the following deployment issue:
javax.naming.NoPermissionException: A Resource Adapter may only be accessed from within the same application from which it was deployed.

What is wrong ? Do you think it is a potential weblogic bug related to sharedlib deployment ?
Thank you for helping,
Best Regards,Hi,
I've defined my Shared lib EAR using its MANFIEST.MF file just like that :
Manifest-Version: 1.0
Ant-Version: Apache Ant 1.8.1
Created-By: 1.6.0_22-b04 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
Implementation-Version: 1.1.3
Implementation-Vendor: XXXXXXX Software
Specification-Version: 1.1
Specification-Title: xxxx
Copyright: Copyright (c) 2012 XXXXXXX
Weblogic-Application-Version: 1.1.3And I reference it from my plain EAR using deployment plan (for dynamic configuration of my solution)
<variable-definition>
<variable>
<name>xxxxSharedLibStatus</name>
<value>false</value>
</variable>
</variable-definition>
<module-override>
<module-name>classicalEAR.ear</module-name>
<module-type>ear</module-type>
<module-descriptor external="false">
<root-element>weblogic-application</root-element>
<uri>META-INF/weblogic-application.xml</uri>
<variable-assignment>
<name>xxxxSharedLibStatus</name>
<xpath>/weblogic-application/library-ref/[library-name="xxxx.ear"]/exact-match</xpath>
</variable-assignment>
</module-descriptor>
<config-root xsi:nil="true"></config-root>
</deployment-plan>I use this mechanism for more than 20 EAR shared lib linked to my classical EAR. it works well, everything seems to be well deployed but the lookup from EAJ to Adaptor raised this permission Exception...
Thank you if you can help.

IPhoto 9.4.3 Crashes when importing from Shared Library
I have an early 08 Mac Pro with Mountain Lion running iPhoto 9.4.3. I'm attempting to import a good nubmer of photos from a shared library which resides on my MBP also running 10.8.2 and iPhoto 9.4.3. It starts to import, but after about 10-20 photos (Nikon Raw) it crashes. Consistently. Deleted plist, didn't fix it. Created a new test library, same issue. I'm attempting to copy over several hundred at a time, which I know is ridiculous, but a) I have too many to import going one by one or 20 by 20, and b) it didn't have a problem earlier when doing the same thing. I was importing >300 at a time last week.
My library is large, >100gb if that helps.
Here is the crash report. Please help me figure out what is going on!!!!

Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If you can import a couple of times successfully the problem lies with your orignal library on the destination Mac.
If that's the case make a temporary, backup copy of your library if you don't already have one (Control-click on the library and select Duplicate from the contextual menu) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory. -
URGENT: RSL Stopped Working - Need to compile with Runtime Shared Library
I need this target to compile using the “Use Runtime Shared Library” option such that Flex libraries will be not included IN the swf, however I cannot get it to work. No matter what, mxmlc includes them. Oddly it DID work briefly for short time, however suddenly stopped again and unfortunately going through subversion revision history yields no insight whatsoever to what evoked this breakage.

</target>I really hate to do this, but I very much need someone from Adobe to chime in here. It is causing some serious headaches. Ant nor the straight Flash Builder 4 will build with RSLs properly enabled now and this is really a very urgent situation for me. It has doubled file size and made the application absolutely unbearable for users.
Thanks! -
Where is a shared library actually stored?
I am restoring a friend's Windows 7 PC after a hard drive crash. I installed iTunes 11.4 and used the backup we had created, but the music files in her iTunes library were not restored -- only the structure of her library with artists, albums, etc., but no music.
On my Macbook, I can see "Dianna's Library" as a Shared library in iTunes so long as Home Sharing is turned *off*. Screen cap attached. I can play music from that library. I want to find the path for that library so that I can copy it to her PC, but I can't find a way to view where it is actually stored. It doesn't seem to be on our NAS although another Shared library is "iTunes Server on NAS." Nor is it on the other Windows 7 PC on our home network. Can anyone advise me?That worked! However, most of the files are in the cache. One of the paths (/Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/MacOS/libgnsdk_submit.1.9.5.dylib) points to a "dynamic library." I will do some more research to find out if that might be the location.
Here are the other contents of the "Open Files and Ports" contents in case something jumps out at you. I am certainly not expected you to pore over these, however, and again, thank you.

PowerPoint Launch Failure - Shared Library
-------------------------
Application launch Failure
The application "PowerPoint" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "4<Microsoft PowerPoint><OpenGLLibrary><CFMPriv_AGL>"
- That is the message I get as soon as I double click on PowerPoint. Both Word and Excel work fine. All of the other apps I have seem to work fine. I am running 10.3.9. I have 1 Gig of RAM.
- SteveRidesSteel has an iBook G4 that also has the same problem. He is running 10.4.7
- Casey has the same problem.
- Several people all over the internet have had shared library errors after installing various games.
- There apparently is a Shared Library Error when updating to OS X 10.4.3
- There appears to be a problem with some applications due to a upgrade for Quicktime. This message .....
'The application "(Game Name) Install" could not be launched
because of a shared library error: "BaseInstaller Carbon"'
seems to be unique to Games. This is NOT the error message I get.
--------- This is what I've done ------------------------
---> I have reloaded the entire MS Office Suite.
---> and then reloaded all of the updates from MS.
---> Word (11.2.3), PowerPoint (11.2.4), Excel (11.2.5)
---> I've trashed all of the preferences
---> I've trashed all of the Caches
---> I've repaired all of the disk permissions.
---> The error code I get (I found it in the Utilities Console) is -2804.
which means, thanks to Mike Conniff:
cfragNoLibraryErr = -2804, /* The named library was not found
- this is a CarbonLibrary
---> Both Quicktime (7.1.3) and iTunes (6.0.5) updated via AutoUpdate
---> Someone has suggested that Fonts might be a problem but, I haven't
changed any Fonts since I bought the computer. I did turn-off a lot
of Fonts I don't use. None of them were related to any system Fonts.
---> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/842646/en-us
- I DON'T get a Carbon Library error message, per se.
- If there is a problem with a damaged or corrupted file,
wouldn't upgrading to a new version (OS X 10.4, for example)?
---> I've removed all of the .plist files and started over.
---> I DON'T have Internet Explorer or Entorage loaded on my computer
---> The last app I installed on my computer was FileMaker 8.0 Advanced.
So, I've attempted to combine a bunch of related threads.
------- Questions
Is there a way to watch the files (libraries) that are active and what programs are using them? Also, if I don't have any other apps running, would the OpenGLLibrary necessarily be shared by something else?Hi Rich,
I followed your advice. Here is what happened. The clip I've included is from the time I turned on the computer, opened Safari, connected to AOL for email, and then opened the posting from the Mac Forum. I haven't opened any pics, so not sure why I have jpeg failures. Then I opened PowerPoint.

How to use J2EE shared library in a team environment? Any help?
Hi all,
I've created two portal web projects one as a shared library to share my portal resources (a saparate project
containging all the portlets) rather than the portal project that containing the other portal resources (portal look &
feel & ...).
I've followed the steps to create a J2EE shared library (for portlets for example) by modifying META-INF/MANIFEST.MF file with the following variables added to it:
Extension-Name: MyPortalWebProject (as a shared library)
Specification-Version: 1.0
Implementation-Version: 1.0
and exporting the WAR file from the project that contains my portlets to be imported into the other portal project.
I can see the portlets available from the portal project but I can't use them as I get the following
error:
No such portlet with URI (Portlet Name).
Did I miss any steps to be able to use the portlets from the shared library into another portal project?
If anyone has another scenario for how to separate all portlets in a separate project and share this with the main
portal project, please advice.
Many Thanks in advance.
MohamedHello, did you attempted to use by Stream Portal?

Error: Could not find compiled resource bundle 'components' for locale 'en_US'
We are porting a fairly large body of Flex3 code developed under FlexBuilder 3 to Flex4 under FlashBuilder 4. Most of the conversion appears to be working fine, with one exception. When I launch the Flex4 version, all my data interchanges with the server works. Just as it is about to show the UI, the following error occurs:
Error: Could not find compiled resource bundle 'components' for locale 'en_US'
I am actually using a locale of fr_FR, but I assume it couldn't find that, reverted to en_US, failed again and then barfed. If I look in
~Adobe Flash Builder 4\sdks\4.0.0\frameworks\locale\fr_FR
I see a lot of swc files, and of course no 'components.swc'. I believe the problem is that our Flex3 code is using mx components, and the compatibility mode is not properly handling it for some reason. I think this is mostly from our in-house UI library. The properties for that library (and for my main app I am testing now) have:
- Use default SDK (currently "Flex 4.0")
- Use Flex 3 compability mode
- Use minimum version (Flash Player) required by the Flex SDK
- Enable strict type checking
- Enable warnings
I also tried putting the compatibility flag in the mxmlc compile line, with no change in behavior. This project is built by the following script:
ruby scripts/concat_properties.rb -o resources.properties ^
src/main/flex/locale/fr_common/res_myname_fr_common.properties ^
src/main/flex/locale/fr_common/scout/res_myname_scout_fr_common.properties ^
src/main/flex/locale/fr_fr/res_myname_fr_fr.properties ^
../../scout/common/src/locale/fr_common/mypals/resources.properties
mxmlc -locale=fr_FR -source-path=. ^
-compatibility-version=3.0.0. ^
-static-rsls=true ^
-include-resource-bundles=resources ^
-output src/main/resources/bundles/mypals/fr_fr_resources.swf
copy src\main\resources\bundles\mypals\fr_fr_resources.swf ^
bin-debug\bundles\mypals
What have I missed???You have two posts. I will try to answer each completely. Second one first. You say I should change my build to include the framework resources. I am afraid I am not sure which and what to do there. We combine all our properties file into one large one, then use the following build line:
mxmlc -locale=fr_FR,en_US -source-path=. ^
-compatibility-version=3.0.0. ^
-static-rsls=true ^
-include-resource-bundles=resources ^
-output src/main/resources/bundles/mypals/fr_fr_resources.swf
I am assuming you are telling me to change the "-include-resource-bundles" line, but what to add? The "sdks\4.0.0\frameworks\locale\en_US" holds 13 swf files. I tried adding that entire folder (along with the fr_FR folder) to the project library path (in the project properties dialog), but that made no change. I also tried reverting the library path tab back to "MX Only" instead of "MX + Spark", but again no change.
====================
For your first message, I did a search for 'spark' in the entire project. It only existed on 3 lines, each at the start of css files:
@namespace s "library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark";
I had put those in based on reading needed changes to naming in CSS. Since I was not actually using any spark ('s') components yet, I removed these lines. The entire project now does not have the word 'spark' anywhere in it. No change in behavior (as I expected).
I did a search for "s:" throughout the project. That does exist in probably 100 places, but all are legitimate. Things like (xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml") or variable names ("var matches:Object"). No reference to any s: object. (While on the topic, why does FlashBuilder still not have a "whole word" box to limit searches??).
Note that when I first reported this problem, the compiler was set to ONLY support fr_FR. In fighting this, I changed it to "en_US,fr_FR" hoping that would tell the compiler to load whatever en_US items it was looking for. We really do not want any English support in this version. (We do have another SWF created with only support for en_US, and another for en_UK, etc. Each language is a separate node on our server, so there is no need to mix & match at runtime)
The console shows a lot of swf loads that I do not understand...
The console output shows (my comments after ==> indicator)

Error resolving resource bundle "strings"
Hi
I'm trying to use Flex 3 to compile the Flex 2 PhotoViewer
sample project, and encountered this error: 'Unable to resolve
resource bundle "strings" for locale "en_US".'
I found the Flex 2 TechNote which suggested to add
"-use-network=false -library-path+=locale/{locale}
-source-path+=locale/{locale} -locale=en_US" as compiler options.
So I tried adding the above options into the build.bat files
I can find at:
a) C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flex Builder
3\sdks\3.1.0\samples\explorer
b) C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flex Builder
3\sdks\3.1.0\templates\automation-runtimeloading-files
but still the error persists.
Can anyone please advise where I should change the compiler
options? Thanks!

How to share a resource bundle throughout the faces application
adf faces 11g release 1
I want to implement the resource bundle as a java class extending the ListResourceBundle . That works fine for the local project.
I then made one global "resource project" that should be shared in all projects. I tried first deploying the project to a adflib jar file,
but i found that the resource class was not included ! I then deployed to a ordinary jar file and that works fine.
My question is : Is that the way to make a shared resource bundle ?
Regards,
JanHi.
Check following
http://andrejusb.blogspot.com/2009/12/reusing-resource-bundles-from-different.html -
Hi,
I would like to know where to put resource bundle file (it is, something.properties) to be seen in portal channel and background classes
more info and workabout
in my class I use resource bundle class Messages which loads resources from bundle "bundles.messages", (equals to file bundles/messages.properties).
I copies this under /etc/opt/SUNWps/desktop/classes and restarted amserver
then I created channe from JSPProvider, which displays one resource from this properties:
<%=Messages.getString("token")%>, but I get on output:
<pre>!token!</pre>,
which means properties was not found.
I havesame problem with third party .jar library which uses properties files. Even after copied oudsite the jar file (i know this must be done) they are not seen.
thank you in advance,
Petr GasparikThank you, vvlier, your advice helped me to move futher.
I discovered that resource bundles (.properties files) must be directly in `classes` folder to be managed by Portal Server.
I've put config.properties in /opt/SUNWps/web-src/WEB-INF/classes, then have run `deploy redeploy` command and in /var/opt/SUNWappserver7/domains/domain1/server1/applications/j2ee-modules/portal_1/WEB-INF/classes has appeared config.properties and config_en.properties, which means deploy somehow managed these files
But still I was unable to fetch records from this file through my own Messages class
Because this works from console, I have proof my code is working. Only that portal classloader is somewhat different.
I've red through manual and found this page: http://docs.sun.com/source/817-5319/ch27.html but it doesn't help me.
It even looks so that I have to use Portal Resource Bundle class?
So, summary, I have one question:
How to work with .properties files (Resource Bundles) in Portal?
thank you in advance -
Shared library for MyFaces Trinidad
Hello!
I'm having some trouble trying to create a shared library in OC4J 10.1.3.3.0. My goal is to deploy multiple applications that use MyFaces and Trinidad, but using a shared library that contains every JAR required.
This is what I've done so far:
1. I created the directory D:\workspace\oc4j_10.1.3\j2ee\home\shared-lib\sidi\1 and put there every JAR included in MyFaces Trinidad Demo.
2. Edited server.xml and added the following lines:
<shared-library name="sidi" version="1">
<code-source path="*"/>
</shared-library>
3.- Edited the orion-application.xml in each application that needs MyFaces Trinidad support and added the following lines:
<imported-shared-libraries>
<import-shared-library name="sidi" />
</imported-shared-libraries>
When I try to run any application that uses MyFaces Trinidad, I get this error message:
java.lang.IllegalStateException: No Factories configured for this Application. This happens if the faces-initialization does not work at all - make sure that you properly include all configuration settings necessary for a basic faces application and that all the necessary libs are included. Also check the logging output of your web application and your container for any exceptions!
If you did that and find nothing, the mistake might be due to the fact that you use some special web-containers which do not support registering context-listeners via TLD files and a context listener is not setup in your web.xml.
A typical config looks like this;
<listener> <listener-class>org.apache.myfaces.webapp.StartupServletContextListener</listener-class>
</listener>

If I place the JARs inside each WEB-INF/lib the applications work, but I'm trying to avoid doing this to have smaller EARs when the applications are packaged for deployment in the production servers.
What am I doing wrong? Hope you can help me with this.Hi Aram,
The default behaviour of OC4J is to NOT run the listeners provided inside the taglibs. As for java server faces, tomahawk and trinidad use taglibs that rely on the listener configured in the tld file
You'd need not only to deploy the "shared library", but also, drop the jars in the $OC4J/j2ee/home/taglibs directory
And, make sure that in your "global-web-application.xml" you have:
<orion-web-app
[... whatever ...]
jsp-cache-tlds="on"
jsp-taglib-locations="../taglibs"
>
that means, the attribute "jsp-taligb-locations is defined for the orion-web-app tag. With that, the listener is going to be loaded, and you'd not need to configure it in the web.xml
