Response time https/http using CSM+SSL versus CSM

Im using C6K and CSM for load balancing and an SSL module for https termination. That means clients can access the serverfarm through https/http and compare response time values.
What should be the expected delay generated from SSL(https) compared to cleartext(http) ?
My customers are complaining about to much delay...
Thanks in advance for your answer.
Volker

it's difficult to answer.
There will be an initial delay required to establish the ssl session, then for each packet there will be additional delay to encrypt/decrypt the packet.
It also depends on load.
An CSM can handle lot of traffic but not an SSLM.
So, if you see something wrong in a sniffer trace like packet drops, retransmits, huge delays per packet [like 300ms], then we need to investigate what is going on.
Otherwise, this would be normal.
Regards,
Gilles.

  • Slow response time for HTTP requests

I have an 8310 Pearl. For the past week, I've noticed that the response time using the Internet browser was very slow. One work-around was to cancel the request and then submit it again. The second request returned the page MUCH faster.
I cleared my history, and this seemed to have helped. Has anyone else noticed this? Thanks

    Try a Battery Pull:
    1. Remove the battery while phone is turned on
    2. Wait a few seconds before inserting it again
    3. Allow the long boot up process to finish (takes a few minutes usually)
This clears most software issues that occur on blackberries from time to time. You could also use Quickpull, a free app that simulates a battery pull without physically removing the battery: http://software.crackberry.com/product.asp?id=27660
A battery pull reclaims memory lost during application usage and clears minor software errors that creep in over time. The blackberry runs an OS just like your PC runs windows and the battery pull is the equivalent of a reboot/restart on your computer.

  • How to get the number and response time of HTTP request through Weblogic?

    hi,
does anybody know how to get the HTTP request information through Weblogic server, such as the number of HTTP request in 1 min and the average response time of request in 5 mins ?
Or is there anyway i can do it through monitoring and get these data then? If so, please help tell me.
    Thanks in advance
BTW, we don't have the 3rd-party monitoring tool here.

  • Problems with n8-response time , stability and use...

ive been using n8 for a couple of months now and some times i really think this can do better
the text editor for messages has the keyboard options just bellow space. i so want that to change because space is a very frequently hit and if i type fast then almost always end up getting the keyboard changed to qwerty .i use alpha numeric off course but why cant this be the same as the s60 one....used to work great on my 5800
2nd the response gets annoyingly slow if i hit the applications folder
and again by instinct i end up pressing it double and entering the video editor. i know it can be optimized and would love to see it in the update cause its a matter of quick response. applications and folders should open quick and stability still needs work after the 2 minor updates nokia gave
3rd its not stable. some times the notification widget stops notifying although there have been missed events. the WLAN connection widget is bonkers , i was at home and it was showing connection to my uni's AP which is miles away. and it has a mind of its own. also the connection is some how suspended and pages just wont open, same in the case of ovi store. Nokia need to fix that
if nokia just work on the interface so the fone just flows with fingers then its a damn good fone. im having issues but dont want to let go of it
camera is great but the interface needs work
symbian3 is new and the is room for a lot of improvment

the N8 is a great phone and I'm happy whit it but I must agree with the 2nd part....the respons is sometimes really slow but not painfully and it's really not that offten..
and I fully agree what you said about camera interface, the camera itself is a great, picures are great in the dark sometimes can be better but the interface is not that good and the cameraphone as N8 shuld have a interface that match camera
    sorry but bad english

  • CCMS Monitoring for Average HTTP response time

    Hi guys ,
Is it possible to monitor Av. response time for HTTP(this is based on ST03) using CCMS ?
    Thanks in advance
    George

    hi
As per my understanding you tried to view the responsetime comp as same like in sto3 by ccms, the way as below, RZ20-> SAP CCMS montior templates- >Entiresystem-><sid>->application server -><server>R3 services ->  DIalog you can get all the response time as same in the ST03.
else in otherway if you looking for monitoring Java and webdynpro, you can do this by GRMG.chk this for to knw http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/45/4ee37fea5917eae10000000a155369/content.htm|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/45/4ee37fea5917eae10000000a155369/content.htm]
    for configuration,[GRMG-config guide|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/106a4d88-2a36-2c10-549b-dc549d00b8b9?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true]

  • Average HTTP response time going up week by week as said by SAP

    Hello All,
I was looking into our SRM earlywatch report,SRM is on windows SQL server 2005 with Windows 2003 server
In the performance indicators, there is an interseting trend though nothing is in yellow or red
The values of following parameters : average response time in HTTP task, the maximum no of HTTP steps per hour and the average DB request time in HTTP task  are going up
I understand that as the no of HTTP steps are increasing, the response time is becoming more which is quite obvious.
But how to balance this load out so that the average response time comes down?
what steps should be taken so that I can get this response time to come down though the load on the server is going up
    Rohit

    Hi Rohit,
Is you system in High Avalibity setup? If yes, then try to load the balance on Node A and Node B. If this is already done or if your system is not in high availability then plan and install a Additional application server (Dialog instance) for load sharing.
    Regards,
    Sharath

  • Performance Tuning: Http Task Time Response Time Threshold

I must analyze the response time of HTTP task on my instance and I found any value from tcode ST03.
For HTTP task with my user I have these values:
    N. Step   T resp.time    A. Resp.Time   T. DB Time   A. DB Time
    3405         3072              902,1                1436            421,7
Now I would like to know if these values are correct or they are very high.
Is there an OSS Note which explain the threshold of all task type??
    Thanks in advanced.

    If its an external ITS,
    here is one note:

  • Slow response time Java 2 (Standard Edition) v1.4.2_13

Hello all, I'm a new user to Java and not a developer or a programmer, but I thought this forum might be the best place to start seeking answers to my questions.
The organization I work for uses a centralized web-based Oracle (v10g) accounting program to monitor its worldwide inventory. Our network has very strong firewalls and uses a lot of security software to insure network integrity. Users navigate to a portal website and login to their account where they post transactions and such. When users login and initiate a session we use Microsoft VM to create the virtual environment where we communicate with the accounting program. Microsoft VM works well in our environment and provides quick GUI response times (seconds) as transactions are posted.
Understanding the real possibility that Microsoft VM might go away in the not so distant future we tried using Java 2 (Standard Edition) v1.4.2_13 (build-B06) to create the virtual environment and connect to our accounts. The response time was incredibly slow, it took minutes for the GUI transition from screen to screen or provide any response to input.
As a test I bypassed our network and used a standard commercial ISP (cable) connection and Java 2 (Standard Edition) v1.4.2_13 (build-B06) to create the virtual environment then logged into my account. The GUI response time I experienced using this connection was very fast.
Our internet browser is IE 6 or better, changing to a different browser is not an otion.
My question is: Are the security settings of our network affecting the system response time when using Java to create the virtual environment? Or could it be something else?
    Thanks for your help

RC4 algorithm is patented by RSA Security and it does NOT included into J2SDK 1.4 (there are Blowfish, DES, DESede, PBEWithMD5AndDES and PBEWithMD5AndTripleDE ciphers in SunJCE provider). You can download a free and JDK 1.4 compliant JCE provider with RC4 (and many other ciphers) from http://www.bouncycastle.org/ But keep in mind you may have to pay some royalty if you are going to use it in the production.

  • Alert based on response time of user possible?

    Hello,
I'm just wondering if the following is possible in SAP (R/3, CRM, BW, etc...)
Lets say I have a user that is getting poor response times on occasion.  Normally, I would run a trace in ST12 when they are having a problem.  But what I'd really like to do is have the system watch said user, regardless of the transaction(s) they are running, and then, based on their response time, initiate a trace for that user for the duration of their problem and then send me an alert that a trace has been captured or is currently underway.  Is this possible, whether through CCMS or some other function?
I ask this because oftentimes, when a specific user is having a problem, by the time I'm notified, 9 times out of 10 the problem has resolved itself and it is difficult to go back and see what happened.
    Thanks,
    Tom

    Hi
It is possible through CCMS alert monitor. In RZ20 you have dialog user monitor in which you can monitor response time too.

  • CRM_DNO_MONITOR field: initial response time

    Hi,
In CRM_DNO_MONITOR we were able to see all the data except 'Initial Response time' of Service desk message.
Kindly let us know, how to configure so that 'Initial Response time'  should be displayed in CRM_DNO_MONITOR.
    Thank you!

    Hello Jerome,
understand better... sorry. Well unfortunately this value is not available in report CRM_DNO_SERVICE_MONITOR cause when you take a look to the structure used for the display table no field was created for that.
If that's something YOU NEED to implemement: here is the procedure
    - do a structure append of CRMT_DNO_SERVICE_MONITOR to add field Initial Response Time - ZINITRESPTIME
    - Then Use Badi CRM_DNO_MONITOR to fill the column Initial Response Time for CRM_DNO_MONITOR Transaction
In this Badi you can use Class: CL_DSMOP_REP_CRM, method:  get_first_react_time as done by SOLAR_EVAL.
You should put a breakpoint in CL_DSMOP_REP_CRM->PREPARE_SIMPLE_OUTPUTLIST to see how standard handled that. That will definitely help u or the developer you might need
    Hope that helps,
    Regards,
    Khalil

  • Avg iview response time

At Workload Analysis (Sol man Diagnostics) why I have u201CAvg servlet/webdynpro response timeu201D and u201CAvg iview response timeu201D?
I mean, the request time of the iview is calculated separated from the request time of the servlet (In case I have an iview with a servlet inside), if so I have to sum both to have the complete time request? Or the KPI u201Cavg iviewu201D is for the iviews that does not have a servlets or a webdynpros inside?
I am a little confused with these concepts, someone can explain to me or show me some document that explains this?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Walde Requena

    I don't understand the question.
Do you want to know how to display dialog response time in ST03? If so, your instructions tell how to bring up that screen. It will show Dialog response time providing there have been Dialog steps executed.
Or do you want to know which function module you call to get dialog response time data? Use SAPWL_WORKLOAD_GET_STATISTIC to get hourly, daily, etc. data (for a given day and instance) for each task type.

  • CPU bits and Moniter response times

Do the G5 iMacs have a 32 bit CPU or 64 bit?
What is the response time for the monitors on the G5s?
Answers would be great! Thank you.
super duper di duper scooper pooper in your face   Windows XP

    Welcome to the discussions!
All G5s are full 64-bit CPUs.
As far as pixel response time goes, that is not something that Apple has ever published, but AFAIK the iMacs use the same LG.Philips LM201W01 panel as the 20" Cinema display. Depending on who you believe, that panel has either a 16 or 12 ms response time.
Apple uses S-IPS panels for their superior color matching capabilities due to the fact that so many people in creative careers use Macs. Response time is not as important as color accuracy.
The TN panels used by many manufacturers have a much better response time and contrast ratio, but are clearly not as good as S-IPS for color.

  • Can I get a response back when I use HTTP adapter

    Hi ,
I am doing a integration between SAP and ThirdParty Product using PI 7.1.
The scenario is ThirdParty -> PI -> SAP ,using HTTP adapter between ThirdParty and PI , and IDoc adapter between SAP and PI.
So,its a HTTP sender and IDoc receiver.
So I was just curious to know if the IDoc posting failed in SAP ,can I send a response from SAP to Thirdparty regarding the failure along with some error message.
    Thanks for your responses.
    Venu

    Hi,
It may lead to some timeout problems if you design your scenario as synchronous i.e sending response back to HTTP..
as SAP may take time to process idoc and need to provide response back to PI ..by that time the connection may become invalid and thirdparty may receive response as timeout error...
As anyway PI has the option of Alert managements..you can trigger the error mail to the third party recipients for letting them the status...

  • HTTP Response time

    Hi
I try to log the response time for my http request
having enabled it with LogResponseTime Property in service HttpProvider (setting it to true)
(using SAP Web AS Java 2004s SPS10)
in the responses.trc file I see the following output (here is an sample)
    [Nov 1, 2007 1:49:41 PM   ] - 111.111.111.111: POST /webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/pb/PageBuilder;jsessionid=..... HTTP/1.1 200 29497 [19140]
Could somebody tell me, which field is related to the reponse time, and which unit is used to measure the time (seconds, milli seconds)...
    Any help is appreciated
    Regards Karin

    Hi Karin,
    The time is in milliseconds:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/52/46f6a089754e3a964a5d932eb9db8b/frameset.htm
I believe it is the value in brackets:
    [19140] = 19 seconds
Does that correspond with the times you observe?

  • Slow response time HTTP= XI= RFC

I have a HTTP call to XI BPM which makes a sync RFC call to another SAP system via SA bridge. The BPM is working fine. However, the time taken to process a transaction is about 6 seconds (not much data – about 2 lines).
The party initiating HTTP call is not satisfied with this response time.
Their current system (C program to SAP via API/RFCs) take about a second to respond.
Here’s how my response time is distributed based on the WF analysis of the steps
    InfoLink_To_SAP_BPM urn:abc.com:InfoLink  Workflow started            4s
Start Message: Receive XML from InfoLink
    Initialize System Element
    Mapping      Step completed        0s
Process control record read in XI
Send Message Synchronously  Step completed    1s
      Mapping      Step completed        0s
Send Message Synchronously    Step completed     0s
        Mapping       Step completed    0s
S/A Bridge: Response to Synchronous Request   1s
It seems like the first step takes 4 sec.  Does it take this long for HTTP connect? Or is this to launch or initialize WF / BPM?
In SAP, the RFC look .0027 secs to complete.
Does anyone have any idea on how to improve my response time.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
In a BPM with sych-asych bridge we did observe a 3 -4 sec processing time, its just initialization time on the workflow.
when we approached SAP Workflow team, we were told that was the optimal time. Unless something has changed in the new SP packs!!
    cheers,
    naveen
