REST API - Create Job

Looking at the documentation it states "The Job object provides the create method. The method has many parameters, but not all are required. Default values can be used by TES 6.2 for optional parameters."
Is there documentation anywhere on what parameters are required?
I'm trying to create a job but get back a generic error : TES_010020:Error creating the Job/Group record

The bare minimum for creating a job is Job Name, Agent/Adapter and a command. With REST API, I don't know if creating the job would allow you to inherit the Agent/Adapter from the parent or if you have to explicitly define it.

How to create a campaign based on a template using the REST API

Hi CodeIt-ers,
I'm using the REST API to create campaigns in Eloqua 10, all works well except for 1 thing: I can't seem to create a campaign based on an existing Campaign template.
Based on the documentation on REST API - Accessing Campaigns I've tried using "sourceTemplateId" (code snippet below) but that did not do the trick.
Does that functionality simply not work or am I missing something?

Unfortunately no. I reached out to support, they informed me "sourceTemplateId" could not be used to create new campaigns based on a template, instead they advised to use the "Elements " property as shown in this example: Eloqua REST API - Create a Campaign with a Segment and Email

Can not create Azure Scheduler Job Colloection correctly via rest API

I am trying to create a Azure Scheduler job collection via the rest API using Azure Ruby SDK
I created the request following the API reference. Request body is as follow:

Creating Job material using public API from WIP

Take the entered component part number and search in the WIP job material requirements. This should use a WIP API. If the material is found, increment the quantity. If material is not found, create the job material using public API. (Provide WIP API details)

What is your SBO version? I've seen several cases in which the login/connection procedure (both in the client and via DI API) has become much slower after upgrading to SBO 2005.
Do you experience the same slowness when connecting via DI API in a non-WebService setting?
I would not recommend using DI API in a web service context in the first place. DI Server would give you a much more robust, stable and scalable infrastructure to build upon.

How to create list items with multiple attachment files using rest api javascript

In one of user form I am using javascript rest api to create a list item with multiple attachment files. So far I am able to create list item and once created uploading an attachment file. But this is two step process first create an item and then upload
a file.
It create an additional version of the item which is not desired. Also I am not able find a way to attach multiple files in a go. Following is the code I am using.

But this does not solve the core of the issue. You are uploading attachments after creation of item and multiple files are being attached in loop. This is kind of iterative update to an existing item with attachments. This will end up creating multiple versions.
What I am trying to achieve is to create an item along with multiple attachments in a go. No item updates further to attach a file.
Please suggest how this can be done in one go. SharePoint does it when one creates an item with multiple attachment.

Post/Create a poll using Yammer REST API

I have been working on a project where there is a requirement to develop a custom web part that displays the feeds from Yammer. Also, the logged in user should be able to post messages, attachments, polls from the web part.
I was able to post messages and attachments using rest api and with yammer embed. But I couldn't find any information/documentation on how to post/create a poll via Yammer API using JavaScript. I've browsed through the documentation provided by Yammer( https://developer.yammer.com/documentation/ )
and googled a lot, but couldn't get any help.
Any suggestions regarding this would be highly appreciated.

I have managed to add a project using REST call https://<domain>.sharepoint.com/sites/pwa/_api/ProjectServer/Projects/Add
However when I try to add Task or a Resource to the created project it gives me errors. Could you please let me know what I'm doing wrong.

This helped, I'm now successfully calling REST APIs using POSTMAN rest client.
I'm trying to use curl command to call the APIs with Windows AZURE ACS. Could you please point me how to get access Token using a POST request. Most of the examples I found on the web are using TokenHelper.GetClientContextWithAuthorizationCode
but couldn't find anything that uses CURL.
Note that I cannot use the TokenHelper
as my application is Linux.

Newly created Image not listed via REST API

I have created a image in azure console .Its created successfully and i could see the created image under "Image" tab in console.Also, the image created with the name appending current date, it was not before.But when I am trying to list images by
using the below REST API its listing images except the newly created images that have the name appended with current date.

From the error, your request parameter was incorrect. I guess your image name may be wrong. How did you write your Image name and url? I suggest you don't forget the '.VHD'. Also,if you use the
VMImageName element which is only available using version 2014-02-01 or higher

[Application Insights] Fail to create new application using REST API

I'm trying to create new application in Application Insights using the REST API.
I followed the instructions on
this page, but keep getting '404 Not Found', with the following error stream:

The http method I'm using is: PUT

Few things:
I tried both with existing/non-existing resource group.
I set the Content-Length header to '0' (otherwise the server returns an error the the length is required).

Try the API Version "2014-08-01" and also make sure you are sending a location of "Central US" (its the only location available right now). An example of a PowerShell call that works is below. I would also suggest checking
out the new https://resources.azure.com/ which can help you construct the REST call.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to create, delete and edit SharePoint alerts using Client Object Model or Rest API.
In SharePoint Client Object Model, there is very little that you can achieve when it comes to alerts.
For changing alerts, there is a ChangeAlert class:

For Deleting alerts, you can call deletealert web service:
DeleteAlerts
For creating new alerts, it seems no such API support this, a workaround is call the new alert form "SubNew.aspx" using JavaScript to achieve it.

Restful API add role not working - receve 202 accepted but not VM was created

I am using the Windows azure restful api to add a new role to my vm deployment.
I have already added a cloud service and a deployment, I can list the deployments fine with the https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/ee460804.aspx and is all OK , but when I want to add a new VM to this deployment and I call the api using https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/jj157186.aspx
I get a 202 Accepted, but nothing happens, no VM was created , I dont know what I am missing .

For called the REST API, I suggest you can use
Fiddler to catch and monitor your error message. If you got 404 error, it is possible that your authentication has something wrong. I suggest you can try to use fiddler to troubleshooting.

Best practices for cleaning up after a Bulk REST API v2 export

I want to make sure that I am cleaning up after my exports (not leaving anything staging, etc). So far I am
DELETEing $ENTITY/exports/$ID and $ENTITY/exports/$ID/data as described in the Bulk REST API documentation
Using a dataRetentionDuration when I create an export (as a safety net in case my code crashes before deleting).
Is there anything else I should do? Should I/can I DELETE the syncs I create (syncs are not listed in the "Delete an Entity" section of the documentation)? Or are those automatically deleted when I DELETE an export?

I met the same problem as pod
It happens when I tried to load all historical activities, and one sample is same activityId was given to 2 different types (one is EmailOpen, the other is FormSubmit) that generated in year 2013
Before full loading, I ever did testing for my job, extracting the activity records from Nov 2014, and there is not unique ID issue
Seems Eloqua fixed this problem before Nov 2014, right?
So if I start to load Activity generated since 2015, there will not be PK problem, or else, I have to use ActivityId + ActivityType as compound PK for historical data
Please confirm and advise
