Restore default event queue
hi all,
I'm installing my own Event queue using
Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getSystemEventQueue().push(
new MyEventQueue());
How can I restore the default event queue after i'm done monitoring?
[not sure Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getSystemEventQueue().push(new EventQueue()) will work]
yes this can be done. Once I install my custom queue is this used for all event processing until I pop it off?
Also when is a new event queue created (nextQueue).
I've notices that if an awtevent takes a long time it is executed in chunks. Is this the case? Any help will be deeply appreciated.

});what is the use of adding an instance of the event queue to the systemEventQueue as shown in the code above.O.k. - I am not experienced in spite of many years of using this turkey. First of, the sync/don't sync button in preferences - forget it. iCal syncs with MobileMe no matter what the setting. Bummer - except that once the hundreds of duplicate, repeat events are transfered to MobileMe, you can delete them from the web interface - unlike the iCal application that forbids deleting unwanted events.
Second new discovery. You can put in a repeated event on the MobileMe website with no trouble but, bummer again, the new event on MobileMe does not sync back to the iCal on the iMac.
Final and most important discovery. I got the problem in the first place by blindly supplying the information asked for and, I kid you not, iCal 4 asks for the end date of a repeated event twice. If you answer the question twice, as I did, you get N * N events. So I hope I can avoid the problem in the future. But really, iCal needs methods to delete repeated events. Also as a former long-term Palm user, I sorely miss the option to restore a calendar from another machine. (the ability to sync or overwrite the local application). -
How do I set the default event alarm to email in iCal 3.0?
Anyone know? The default event alarm (an alert with a noise) in iCal 3.0 doesn't do me the slightest bit of good if I'm not sitting at my computer, which I'm often not.
I'd like all new events to have a default alarm of "Email" so I get email reminders without having to edit every single new event I create. Frankly I'm amazed this isn't a simple Preference optionYes yes yes yes yes yes yes. I have scoured the internet looking for exactly the same answer! I've asked everyone at my office (all mac users) and no one knows (but I got several "Yeah, that's annoying - let me know when you figure it out). I, too, can't believe it's not a simple preference in iCal. Someone PLEASE answer this incredibly basic question because there are obviously more than a few of us hung up on this. Thanks!

Is it possible in iCal to set default event name per calendar, so that when I put in my work schedule each event is titled "work" without me having to type it in each time?
No (unless you use Automator), however, you could create an additional calendar, one that would represent your work schedule.
You could also use the (32 year old) Copy-Paste feature.
If you really have big schedule, you should consider making an automator workflow which would create events with a default name

My IPOD Touch initially had a white screen. I tried correcting this by restoring default settings via ITunes. The Restore Failed with error 1602 and now the IPOD touch is completely dead. It will not power on or respond when I plug it into my PC via USB. I get an error on my PC stating that device attached to USB port is not recognizable. Can anyone help?

E72 : "Item no longer available; Restoring default...
Hi all,
Has anyone seen this message on E72 ?
I have had my E72 for abt a month. After much struggle and trial/errors I had got most of the stuff working (email etc.).
HOWEVER, I made the big mistake of accepting the firmware v 023.xx upgrade. It never completed the update successfully (the USB connection kept getting lost).
But the worst part is I am now getting these random messages when I am simply scrolling thru' the menu items.
"Item no longer available. Restoring default key setting".
Has anyone seen this message on E72 ? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
When I check the firmware it still shows 021.024 dated 17-Oct-2009.Did you upgrade using OVI or NSU? I did upgrade mine to 023.002 with NSU 2.4.1. If you use Vista or 7 as OS, make sure you have Administrator right while installing OVI, PC Suite, or NSU.
During the installation, the phone disconnected. I remove the USB connection and the battery as well, then plug the USB and battery in then click Retry. It worked after 2 times remove and plug-in.
I never seen the message you have before. I think it is because the firmware upgrade didn't finish successfully. And for USB keep disconnected, try use other USB port and make sure it is direct connection from PC to E72 without using any USB hub. -
I found this (TS3579: If the wrong date or time is displayed in some apps on your Mac Learn about If the wrong date or time is displayed in some apps on your Mac) useful because I did not know about the effect of typing in data and that you could only drag to rearrange the data. I had typed in data before and this had caused problems but restoring defaults did not cause correct dates to show up in Finder.
It sounds like there are a couple things going on here. First check if you have a successful install of SQL Server, then we'll figure out the connection issues.
Can you launch SQL Server Configuration Manager and check for SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) if default instance or SQL Server (other name) if you've configured your instance as a named instance. Once you find this, make sure the service is started.
If not started, try to start it and see if it throws an error. If you get an error, post the error message your hitting. If the service starts, you can then launch SSMS and try to connect. If you have a default instance, you can use the machine
name in the connection dialog. Ex: "COWBOYS" where Cowboys is the machine name. However, if you named the SQL Server instance during install, you'll need to connect using the machine\instance format. Ex: COWBOYS\Romo (where Romo
is the instance name you set during install).
You can also look at the summary.txt file in the SQL Server setup error logs to see what happened on the most recent install. Past install history is archived in the log folder if you need to dig those up to help troubleshoot, but the most
recent one may help get to the bottom of it if there is an issue with setup detecting a prior instance that needs to be repaired.

How to restore default OS X Lion theme?
Recently, I downloaded an app named "Cloak" which changes the color of your Finder, but it didn't work so I uninstalled it. After I did that, it changed the buttons around. For example on Safari, when I press the red exit button it goes full screen instead. Other things happen too (Look at the photo) How do I restore default OS X Lion theme so that it goes to normal? It's really ******* me off, help me pleaseee?
An example of the 3rd party programs that people insist on installing and wonder why their systems go haywire.
I would suggest going to the developers site and seeing if they have a downloadable uninstaller.

Workflow in event queue based on a deleted object
Hi all,
I'm facing a problem with a workflow that goes to the event queue, meanwhile the object is deleted and then the WF is released from the event queue in Error. The WF is based on the BO BUS2032 (sales order).
Here are the steps:
1-Sales order created or changed --> event generated --> WF linked to that event goes to event queue
2-Meanwhile the WF is the event queue waiting to be released, the sales order is deleted
3-The WF is released from the event queue but in ERROR status (this is because the BO instance does not exist anymore)
In this scenario, is there a way to end the WF with CANCELLED status instead of ERROR? is there anyy FM or exit you know ehere I can check if the BO still exists once the WF is released from the event queue?

1) How/why does the WF go into an error exactly? Does it try to complete the first step? What if you put a condition step as a first step in the WF and check whether the object is initial and if it is, then cancel the workflow.
2) How about deleting the event from the queue from some user-exit/badi in the sales order deletion. If I remember correctly the events when queued are in table SWEQUEUE. Probably you can find some function to delete events from the queue. Take a look for example function SWE_EVENT_QUEUE_DELETE to see the idea. Or take a look into transaction SWEAD. There you can delete events from queue. Check what it does and do the same in your code.
3) Is this really a big problem? Are there so many sales orders deleted?
In general I think that the whole event queue seems to many times cause lots of problems (the event queue job disappears, WFs will not get started, and whatever.). I try to avoid using it.

Message not moving to default exception queue when max retries reached

I've set up an advanced queue with max retrie of 5 but when the dequing fails the retry count increments but it never goes to the exception queue. The retry count stays at 6, msg_state = READY, deq_txn_id = RETRY_EXCEEDED. Any ideas?

Flush Event Queue doesn't work with "Key up"
Hi,
probably just a simple thing I am missing here. See the attached VI (including SubVI). In case 1 I fetch the Key Up event for ENTER and issue a Value Change on the Stop Button. This results in a check for the string length and in case it is too short brings up a dialog telling you the ID string is too short and brings you back to the ID entry. Unfortunately - when confirming the dialog with ENTER instead of using the mouse on the button theKey Up event fired again and therefore fetched by the Event Structure.
So I thought I just flush all events in the queue. To be sure, I put a time value on the flush function which proceeds AFTER the dialog is completed, so the ENTER Key Up should be deleted as well. Bummer is - it doesn't work. Anyone know why?
I tried as well with the dynamic event, which I unregistered right after the Stop Event is issued in the Key Up case. I then "re"register for the Key Up event at the same time/position as the flush event queue function is positioned now in the VI below. Still no joy.
What is my mistake? Thanks a lot.

Because you are slow. Not you personally. But compared to the computer, you just don't stand a chance. So you hit the Enter button on the dialog. That dialog's OK button activates on the key down. So the dialog is long gone by the time you manage to get your finger off of the Enter key. In fact, you loop should be back around to be waiting for an event first. So it is waiting for an event when you finally get your finger off of the button. Hey, we have a Key Up event!
Your current checking for the validity of the id is just flat out annoying. Use the Key Down? event to check for a valid character being entered. Notice the '?' in my choice of event there? That means it is a filter event. This means you can throw away (discard) the character being pressed before the control even sees it. You could also discard if there are already enough characters (Greater Or Equal, not Equal).

Error "Event Queue Overflowed" with the "Write file to Citadel Server"
Hello,
I can import data from a file and I can see the data
in the historical database without troubling.
But I always have this error "Event Queue Overflowed", that don't perturb my data and my application (I have just this boring message).
I have tried many things :
- increasing the size of my input buffer (-> 1.000.000, no change) : I don't think so that it's important because I've tried with a value of 100 and anyway sometimes my application works with this small value of 100.
- increasing the File_location tag size (-> 260). No change.
- My write to Citadel.cfg is in the LabVIEW folder.
Can you help me ?

I'm using LV6.1 and I got a little problem with events. How do I make a continuous event queue for activex component, that means LV will respond every time when mentioned event fires instead of it responds just once. Does anyone have an example ?
