Restoring Backup Error message

Hello,
I´m restoring it NOT from Time Maschine Aperture excluded by Time Maschine,
I use a specifiec harddrive 500GB only reserved for Apertures backup.
I just tested it again. Backup - Restoring - Aperture Error during restoring if creating the project. * Send error report to Apple.
Can someone recommend to delete and install the software new ?
Of course first I make a copie from my Labrary.
Or should I give the iMAC to the Apple Service provider, because my display must be changed anyway ?
Does they handle SW too ?
- Aperture without a safe Backup system is worth nothing.
- My iMAC without well working Aperture SW would I give away anyway.
Have fun more or less

    >> Interesting, any specific functionality you know that uses the text or xdb?
Indexing of online help in the application development environment requires Oracle Text. Anything that uses XML (translation XLIFFs, XML data import, Web services, probably others) uses XDB.
    >> so if I wanna redo the step in my test enviroment , do I just drop the new 3010000 user and retry the installation? (after installing text and xdb).
    Documented here:

Keep in mind - you may not need to nuke your APEX 3.1 installation. It may be as simple as installing these missing dependent components.

  • Backup error message

I cannot solve backup error message. I've tried chkdsk on both internal and external drive to no avail. I have a Pavilion dv6 with windows 8.1. Any suggestions?

That iTunes backup does the whole library. One idea...not sure if it will work....uncheck the box next to the movie, and maybe it won't try to include it.
Just a word of caution. Make sure these backups actually work BEFORE you need to use them. I spent hours making almost 30 DVD backups of my itunes library, and when I tested my restore plan, it failed at about disk 12. I have since changed to an external hard drive for more reliable backups of my music.
Also, if you value your ratings, playlists, etc....back up the itunes database file
    iTunes Library.itl
Here is a pretty good iLounge article on it.

  • Backup-error message 2615

Every time I try to back up my library it gets so far then cancels with error message 2615.Can anyone please help.

    Thank you for responding.
I followed your suggestion but it did not work.
It would appear to me that it is an error within Photoshop Elements, and I don't know how I can contact Adobe to see what can be done.
    The error message reads
    "Error encountered while writing files."
    C:/Program Data/Adobe/Elements Organizer/Catalogs/Family Photos/Catalog.PSE 12db
Note,All forward slashes are actually backward slashes in message.

  • Attempting to use "backup and Restore" giver error message

In November 2014 I backed up my PC ( see below ) onto  a 2TB ecternal drive ( Lacie).  This ok and can restore.  Spare space 1.2TB
Now when I attempt to Backup again, using Windows Backup and restore, with same settings  I get an error message :
"The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open"  This appears after some time of activity. There is no mention of WHICH file causes the problem.  I have repeated with different settings ie with
part backups only, or just one drive only.
The PC runs Windows 7 ( 64 bit) there is an SSD c: drive and a d: drive mostly data with some programs installed here.
I would very much appreciate some advice.

    Hi and thank you Mandy.
After many failed attempts - even backing up a few files to test - I was getting nowwhere.  Eventually I succeeded after disabling start menus and uninstalling some programs.  I also disabled my Kaspersky anti-virus completely and disconnected
the internet!!  This time the backup and system image appeared to be OK .
You have helped, Mandy, by identifying the anti-virus as a possible culprit!!  Thank you.  Next time I backup I will just
temporally disable it and see what happens.
    Kind regards
    Malcolm

  • "Cannot Restore Files" error message while attempting to restore entire HD

I have searched this forum and can't find any help on this particular problem. I tried to uses a program (FileVault) to protect some very large directories. It really scrambled all my files so I decided to "simply" do a full restore from my Time Machine. Normally it is connected wirelessly to my iMac, but I physically moved the Time Capsule down to next to the iMac and connected them via Ethernet cable. I wanted a clean HD so I also did a reinstall of Leopard from the installation disc asking it to NOT archive but wipe the disk clean (I forget exactly what the technical phrase for this is)
I then booted the computer off the Leopard Installation DVD and then went to "restore system" and selected the Time Machine.
It had NO problem finding the Time Machine. It gave me all the previous backup points in time---I selected one about 24 hours before I ran into problem.
It started restoring with no problem other than it was predicting about 80 hours to do the whole restore (have 900Gb on the HD so this didn't seem too unusual).
After about 2% of the restoration was indicated on the progress bar, suddenly the restore stopped and I got an error message that it could "Not restore files" and to "Restart the computer and try again"
OUCH! At least it didn't wait til 99% of the restoration was done and THEN crash!
    Would anyone have any ideas?
One thought I had--I had updated the operating system whenever an update came out but since I did a re-install before going to the restore option my iMac is now running 10.5, whereas Time Machine has a 10.5.3 (or whatever) version on it. Should I update the OS on the iMac first?
    THANKS!
    Jim

This has solved loads of people who have this issue and have used an alternate DNS setting.  Below are instructions for both iPhone OTA and on you Mac
If you are getting the error message "Unable to check for update" when you try an OTA (over the air update)
    Change DNS Servers
    Settings -> Wi-Fi
Click the blue arrow on your connected network
Delete everything in DNS and replace it with 208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220
    Try again
If this works, you will probably want to remove the WiFi network using "Forget This Network" and then reconnect to it to get your original DNS servers back. Alternatively, make a note of the original DNS servers before deleting them and replace it after you are done.
If you are getting the error message "Unable to check for update" when you try through iTunes
    On your Mac
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click Network.
Select the network connection service you want to use (such as Wi-Fi or Ethernet, unless you named it something else) from the list, and then click Advanced.
Click DNS, and then click Add at the bottom of the DNS Servers list. Enter the IPv4 address for the DNS server.
    You can use OpenDNS
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
    or
You can Google Public DNS if you want
    8.8.8.8
    8.8.4.4
I have actually repointed my routers DNS so all my devices now point to OpenDNS servers

  • Restoring Backup Error

I just decided to finally update my iPhone 3G software to the iOS 4.1. I backed up my existing iPhone data, installed the new OS, and now when I try to restore from the backup, I keep getting messages like "iTunes was interrupted while restoring the contents of this iPhone. Would you like to restore again now?" "The required file was not found" and the error number that I keep getting is (-34). I tried to restore factory settings and restore from the backup, and still encountered the same problem.
I am currently running the newest version of iTunes, and have tried restarting my computer and syncing through another USB port. I have not done anything other than locate the backup file on my computer. Could anyone offer some advice on how to fix this error message?

When I first encountered the error, after updating the OS, I still had most of my old apps/settings/info. My songs hadn't automatically synced, and when I tried to manually sync them, I kept getting the warning that my iPhone was synced with another iTunes library, thought I have never used it with another computer, and I was asked if I wanted to erase the existing library and syncing it with my current library. When I tried to restore again, hoping it would fix this problem, I encountered the same error as above (again) and now it hasn't restored any of my apps from before the new OS update. Is this a related issue, or will I just need to "erase the existing library" and manually sync my apps and music again?

  • Can't restore backup - error 32

    Hi!
I can't restore a backup to my iPhone. I'm trying since two days now and my nerves are on edge.
I try to make a long story short:
I had broblems with the wi-fi and made a backup to restore the iPhone. It seems like everything worked fine until I connected my phone to iTunes to restore the backup. Then the following message occures:
"iTunes konnte das iPhone "+name iPhone+" nicht wiederherstellen, da ein unbekannter Fehler aufgetreten ist (-32)"
translation: "iTunes could not restore the iPhone "+iPhone name+" because an unknown error occurred (-32)"
I tried the following things to solve the issue:
    - restartet iTunes, PC and iPhone
    - used different USB-connectors
    - reinstalle iTunes
    - downgrading to iTunes 9.0
    - installed iTunes on a new PC and transferred all iTunes-date incl. backups into the corresponding directories
    - cleared sync history
On the "old" PC after the restore I had also the messages:
"iTunes konnte sich nicht mit diesem iPhone verbinden, da ein unbekannter Fehler aufgetreten ist (0xE800000A)"
translation "iTunes could not connect with this iPhone because an unknown error occurred (0xE800000A)"
    and:
"iTunes konnte die Anbieterdaten nicht von Sync Services abrufen. Stellen Sie die Verbindung neu her und versuchen Sie es erneut"
translation "iTunes could not retrieve the provider data from Sync Services. Reset the connection and try again"
    I would urgently need assistance!
    Thanks and regards,
    paraglider

Today I got a new iPhone. Wanted to restore the backup I made from the previous iPhone (same OS version, same iTunes version) but receive the same error message:
"iTunes konnte das iPhone "name iPhone" nicht wiederherstellen, da ein unbekannter Fehler aufgetreten ist (-32)"
translation: "iTunes could not restore the iPhone "iPhone name" because an unknown error occurred (-32)"
PLEASE HELP! The are some data in this backup I haven't elsewhere (pictures, memos, voice-memos). Besides I don't want to configure everything again (would take me hours).
    Regards,

  • External Hard drive/Time Machine backup error message

On a sidenote, I posted a question a week ago about what external hard drive would be compatible with my Macbook, and I so happened to get a WD My Passport Studio hard drive as an unsuspecting gift, so I didn't have to buy one.
Anyways, I started the backup on this hard drive and I had an error message: "Unable to complete backup. An error occurred while copying files to the backup volume." I searched this on the Apple Support Communities and found that I wasn't the only one who had this problem. So, I came upon one discussion that suggested downloading Time Machine Buddy (link:http://pondini.org/TM/A1.html) (link that prompted me to download: http://pondini.org/TM/C3.html). I downloaded it and found out that the error was occurring in my Library folder, specifically in the folder entitled "db" in the "Receipts" folder. There's one file in the "db" folder entitled "a.receiptdb" <----can someone please explain what the heck this is??? Lol. Anyways, I decided to exclude the whole "Receipts" folder from being backed up and now my external hard drive is backing up my files fine. My MAIN question is this: What is wrong with my receipts folder that is causing the error?
P.S. here are the error messages in the Time Machine Buddy log:
    Error: (-36) SrcErr:YES Copying /Library/Receipts/db/a.receiptdb to (null)
    Error: (-36) SrcErr:NO Copying /Library/Receipts/db/a.receiptdb to /Volumes/My Passport Studio/Backups.backupdb/Josh Brew’s MacBook/2012-01-29-162450.inProgress/D9F83053-7FE1-4EBE-991A-F400C35D37CC/Macin tosh HD/Library/Receipts/db
    Stopping backup.
    Error: (-8062) SrcErr:NO Copying /Library/Receipts/db/a.receiptdb to /Volumes/My Passport Studio/Backups.backupdb/Josh Brew’s MacBook/2012-01-29-162450.inProgress/D9F83053-7FE1-4EBE-991A-F400C35D37CC/Macin tosh HD/Library/Receipts/db
Copied 246 files (277.4 MB) from volume Macintosh HD.
    Copy stage failed with error:11
    Backup failed with error: 11
As you can see, iy is located in the "db" folder. I have no idea what's wrong. Thank you for your time! It is MUCH appreciated.

The connection to 10.6.7 may just be a coincidence.  I had a similar problem with a disk and was about to throw it out but decided to try a different USB cable.  That fixed the problem and the drive is still in use.
Try a new cable if you have not already done so.

  • HT3275 Time Machine backup error message: The backup disk image "/Volumes/Backup Files/Burke iMac.sparsebundle" is already in use.

I'm getting the following error message from my Time Machine for two days now:
"The backup disk image “/Volumes/Backup Files/Burke iMac.sparsebundle” is already in use."
I haven't changed anyting lately and can't find the problem...

Try just rebooting the TC.. or restart of the whole network, in correct order.. modem.. router/TC.. clients.
    Read C12 here.
    http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html
Look at the more like this on the right. it is a very common problem.. especially since ML we have this question 5 times every day.

  • Time Machine backup error message

I am making a second backup with a new HD. It made the first Time Machine backup, but ever since, I get the error message "unable to complete backup".
The Time Machine buddy gives me this message:
    Starting standard backup
Backing up to: /Volumes/DIANE EXT HD 02/Backups.backupdb

Can this be fixed? If so, how?

  • Can't add music. Can't restore. Error messages galore.

A few weeks ago my husband plugged in his iPod Classic 160GB into my iBook. It began to sync music, as per usual. After a short time there was an error message basically saying it couldn't sync "cannot create/read/write" or something to that effect (says my husband who is driving me up the wall for weeks about this but won't post here and ask for help).
There are other messages that (he says) say things such as "disc cannot be found" and another saying "file is being used/busy", also getting "cannot restore iPod/files not found", and a plethora of related messages. We own three other iPod's which are used with the same iBook (nano and shuffle's). All three sync, and are working, perfectly fine.
It was not dropped. Not exposed to harsh elements. It has not suffered any physical damage. Please, please, please help, if you can. Thank you.
    * He just decided to share with me he has tried resetting it many times and received error messages on those attempts.
Tried restore and after an hour into synching error messages would begin and only 1/3 of the music would be on the iPod.
Tried enabling disc use, same error messages.
Tried the suggestion of plugging another device in an open USB port while trying to sync, still error messages.

Why not? We would need to know what you mean in order to help you....

  • I am receiving a backup error message" ther backup was not performed because an error occurred while copying files to the backup disk"

I am receiving an error message: " the backup was not performed because an error occurred while copying files to the backup disk". I have used the Disk Utility tot "Repair Disk" and it appears that there are no problems with the back up file..
I continue to receive the error message. What can anyone suggest I do?

    One of Apple's less-than-informative messages.
Most likely, there's a damaged file on your system; see #C3 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.  It will show you how to locate the message(s) that describe the problem, then help you fix it.
