Restrict number of business processes

Hi everybody
Can some one give a hint on how to restrict the start of a business process. I have a JDBC Adapter configured, which is pooling every minute on a small table. A soon as certain entry a given by the polled message a business process starts. I would like to avoid that during the processing of the business process the next polling sequence is starting the next buisness process, because it could be that the next one accesses the same data.
I belive this question is not new, but obviously my search criteria are not sufficient to find the answere in the forum. ;->>
Regards Oliver

Hi,
don't you think you need to recreate your JDBC query?
do you use update statement (in the JDBC sender adapter)
to make sure that:
>>>>because it could be that the next one accesses the same data.
this does not happen?

  • Authorizations | Restrictions on Business Process

    Dear experts,
is it possible to implement restrictions on Business Process by using the default functionality (and hence not on the higher levels Solution or Scenario).
    Thx!

    Hi Kraell,
You can restrict access to the business processes nodes via administration tab, you select there the users who will have access to this node and assign them.  These users must be assigned to the project in the SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN in the tab Proj. Team Member.

  • External number Business process

    Dear SD Experts
First of all if it is generic question please Forgive me ..Sincerely  ..I Have tried to find it Google But exact Information i have not found it .
Dear i know exact use of External Number range purpose in sap but thing is exact  business process is If customer wants same number ranges in Legacy system and sap system we can use this option ( This is just my basic knowledge )
But my doubt is we can achieve this by using Internal Number assignment also
So if you have worked on this business process please Elaborate
    Thanks a lot

    Hi,
External number range are mostly used when some other system is sending information to SAP system and they want same number order number is SAP as well. So in that case we use the external number range.
In case of internal number range it will be difficult to achieve this because it's not necessary that they will send the information in the sequence only. Some time connectivity issue can also occur and there second order will reach first and first will come after words. So to avoid such kind of thing we should use external number range only

  • How do you restrict access to a business process structure in Solution Mngr

We have set up a business process structure in Solution Manager that includes Finance to Manage and Hire to Retire.
Although it is Ok for people to display the documentation in each area, we do have the requirement that the people owning Finance to Manage should not able to change the documentation in Hire to Retire and visa versa. Is there a security object that restrict this access? Are there other ways doing this?
    Thanks
    Paul

I am not a security person, but we have the following details in the profile. You can change these if you click on these areas changing it to display or change mode
    SAP Solution Manager Tab AI_SA_TAB
    --> SAP Solution Manager Tab
        ---> Activity 02, 90
---> Tab in SAP Solution Manager BCSETS, CONFIG, CUSTDOCU, GRAPHIC, IMG, ISSUE, (ETC.)

  • Business Process Monitoring: restrict authorization to confirm alerts

    Hello Experts,
I am working with Solution Manager's Business Process Monitoring and I am now facing these questions regarding roles and authorizations to allow/forbid alert confirmation:
    - What is the authorization mechanism behind alert confirmation in BPM? Is a specific authorization object involved when pressing the button "Confirm selected"?
    - Is it possible to adjust roles (if no standard role is available) in order to have, for example,
--Role1: give users the authorizations to walk through DSWP transaction, see business processes' alerts and confirm them
--Role2: give users the authorizations to walk through DSWP transaction, see business processes' alerts but NOT allow them to confirm any alert?
    Our Solution Manager version:
SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0 (SP22)
    ST-PI 2008_1_700 level2
    ST-SER 701_2008_2 level 6
    ST-A/PI 01M_CRM570
I hope I managed to explain my doubts properly; any help will be very appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your support,
    best regards
    Paolo

    Hello Paolo,
it is the first time that I hear that request. Can you explain what your use case is? Why would you allow some users to see and analyze alerts but do not let them confirm the alerts if the problem is solved?
As the user/date/time is logged if somebody confirms you have the transaparency who confirmed which alert at what point of time.
I think that currently no such split in authorizations is supported but perhaps you can find something in the securtiy guide.

  • Limit the number of Business Partner relations in BP Master data

    Hello Gurus,
I have a requirement where I have to limit the number of business partner relations to 2 at BP Master Data. For example for a BP X, there cant be more than 2 contact persons. So in the relationship tab they should not be able to add more than 2 contact persons. I know we can do this partner processing in sales transactions, but not sure we can implement the same in BP Master Data.
Thanks a Lot in advance for your replies,
    Krishna.

    Hi,
You can achieve this by customizing. Go to Transaction BUBA. Double click on you relationship category. Now change the cardinality. In your case it will be 0:2 .
    This will solve your problem.
    Thanks and warm regards,
    Smita.

  • Using ARIS process models as the foundation for Business Process Monitoring

    Hello,
Do anyone know if you can use IDS Scheer ARIS process models and the integration between IDS Scheer ARIS and SAP Solution Manager as the starting point for end-to-end Business Process Monitoring (BPM) so that you get the process description/model automatically in Solution Manager BPM and just need to configure the monitoring (more or less that you monitor against the modelled process in ARIS)?
Is there an API for SAP Solution Manager BPM so that non-SAP solutions/systems can be part of the end-to-end process monitoring?
If not, how do you usually integrate non-SAP solutions that are part of an end-to-end process that you want to monitor into SAP Solution Manager BPM, or do you not use Solution Manager BPM for this?
What is the roadmap for SAP around SAP Solution Manager BPM when it comes to non-SAP systems/applications/solutions and the new SAP NetWeaver BPM functionality?
    Regards,
    Markus Johansson

    Hello Markus,
I just paste my answer form the other forum entry Re: Business process management strategy in SAP?
in a nutshell BPM Netweaver is focussing on so called edge-processes (usually
SOA-based and often workflow related). These edge-processes a thought to enhance exisitng core business processes and should provide the fast competitive edge versus competitors. Examples would be also xApps. For this Netweaver provides process modelling tools, where you can get exectuable code through the integration between CE and PI. The monitoring part for these processes is mainly targeting business end-users and business manager.
Business Process Monitoring with Solution Manager focusses on core business processes which are realized with the "conventional", "old" SAP Architecture, e.g. Order-to-Cash or Procure-to-Pay. You get a combination of technical monitors (average response times of transactions, background job runtimes, monitors for IDOC or qRFC processing) and application related monitors (you get more than 200 pre-configured application monitors out-of-the-box like number of overdue customer orders or outbound deliveries or number of deliveries with goods issue posted but no invoice). The target group here is the support organization of the customer, from Basis-Support over application support on IT side to process owner on business department side.
Overview presentations can be found under
    https://service.sap.com/bpm --> Media Library --> Customer Information -->
    "Business Process Monitoring - Part 1 & 2".
    Or look under https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/nw-processmonitoring
In the end BPM Netweaver and BPMon SolMan are complementary for different purposes and different target groups.

  • Difference between Business service, Business system and Business process

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me the difference between Business service, Business system and Business process?
    Thanks,
    Harikumar. S

    Hi,
    <b>Business system</b>
It is a logical system from a business point of view.
One or more logical systems that belong together from a business point of view is called a group of Business system group. A business system group represents a unit within a company or organization that can be defined according to legal, economic, administrative or geographic factors.
The objects in a business system group are uniquely identified by a uniform numbering system.
    <b>Business process</b>
Business procedure within an enterprise that uses resources and can involve activites from a number of different cost centers in a controlling area.
When executing a business process, activities can be utilized for several cost centers of a controlling area.
    <b>Business service</b>
    It’s a third party system.
All these belong to a Business Scenario which is
Description of the flow of business processes according to a business typology. A business scenario represents a template for a business process, which runs within a particular area of a company process. All processes required to completely process the task are listed in chronological order in the scenario. Business scenarios can be described graphically, in either aggregated or detailed form (EPC). Example: Direct sale to industrial recipient

  • Down payment process for Poland, new business process or not ?

    Hello,
I'm a little bit confused about implementation down payment process for Poland.
The OSS-notes 818079 and 1007635 describe a solution for this.
How do I have to implement the correct down payment process for Poland ? Do I have to create an extra business process with new sales order type, new billing type, separate calculation procedure, new output type and so on ?
Or is it possible to use existing business processes in sales and distribution for down payment processes ?
    Thanks in advance
    Holger

    hi,
Check the process for down payment processing
The following Customizing settings have to be made for down payment processing:
Settings for the billing plan - To activate the billing plan function, maintain the materials, for which you wish to process down payments, with item category group 0005 (milestone billing). This gives the item type TAO via item type determination. The item type TAO calls up the billing plan function.
You need to implement the following activities in the billing plan for down payments:
Maintain deadline category - This determines the billing rule (percentage or value down payment) for the down payment request. The system assigns billing type FAZ (payment request) defined in the standard system with billing category P. (For the billing type FAZ there is the cancellation billing document type FAS in the standard system).
Maintain the deadline proposal - Use the down payments that are due for the proposed deadlines.
Maintaining a Pricing Procedure with the Condition Type AZWR:
In the standard system the condition type AZWR is delivered for the down payment value already provided but which has not yet been calculated. You must include this condition type in the relevant pricing procedure before output tax.
Enter condition 2 (item with pricing) and the calculation formula 48 (down payment clearing value must not be bigger than the item value) for the condition type AZWR.
Before the condition AZWR you can create a subtotal with the base value calculation formula 2 (net value). If the condition AZWR is changed manually, you can get information on the original system proposal from the subtotal.
Maintain the printing indicator - The pricing procedure can not be marked as a transaction-specific pricing procedure (field Spec.proc.) The condition type AZWR has the calculation type B (fixed amount) and the condition category E (down payment request / clearing).
Maintaining the Billing Document - In the standard system there is the billing type FAZ (down payment request) and the billing type FAS for canceling . The down payment is controlled using the billing category P of the billing type. A billing type becomes a down payment request when the billing category P is assigned. You have to maintain blocking reason 02 (complete confirmation missing) for the billing documents and assign it to billing type FAZ.
Copying control - Copying requirement 20 must be entered in copying control at item level for the down payment request. In the standard system the order type TA for copying control is set up according to the billing type FAZ for the item category TAO.
Copying requirement 23 must be entered in copying control at item level for down payment clearing. In the standard system the order type TA for copying control is set up according to the billing type F2 for the item category TAO.
Financial Accounting settings - A prerequisite for down payment processing is that the account is assigned to the underlying sales document. To do this, change the field status settings in Customizing as follows:
Set reconciliation accounts (transaction OBXR) - For the `received down payments' and `down payment requests' from
the G/L accounts you have selected, you should assign the field status definition G031.
Maintain accounting configuration (transaction OBXB) - For the down payments (posting key ANZ in the standard system) and the output tax clearing (posting key MVA in the standard system), you must maintain the posting key.
You must also carry out a G/L account number assignment for the tax account.
Maintain the posting key (transaction OB41) - For posting key 19, set the sales order as an optional field !!!
Maintain the field status definition (transaction OB14) - For field status variant 0001, field status group G031, set the
sales order as an optional field !!!
Assign the company code to the field status variants (transaction OBC5)

  • Monitoring proxy abap in business process monitoring

    Hi
Expert. Iu2019m working with Business Process Monitoring in my Solution Manager 7.0 sp20.
I would to monitor the communication between SAP ECC and SAP PI.
SAP ECC and SAP PI communicate by proxy.
I would know if can I monitor the proxy abap using SAP PI Message Error Monitoring based on Message-Based-Alerting (RWB).
I have just defined the alert category in abap stack and in RWB. In RWB I have inserted all information in u201CConditionsu201D fields  and in the u201CWhere did the error occur?u201D fields I have chose:
    Integration engine : XI Proxy
    Error Code: *
Is this the correct procedure to monitor a proxy abap?
    Thanks a lot
    Giou2019

    Hello Giovanni,
The described procedure looks correct in general. If you have set any restrictions in "Conditions" fields than you will only monitor on these specific message. If not all message will be considered which turn into a error status on the ABAP Proxy.
For information regarding the PI/XI Message Based Alerting please refer to service.sap.com/bpm -> Media Library -> Technical Information "Setup Guide - Interface Monitoring".

  • Business Process Engine in yellow status

    Hi all,
I visit the site http://<hostname>:<port>/rep/start/index.jsp and visit the runtime workbench link. Displaying all in the component monitoring, i saw that the business process engine under Integration Server is in yellow status. I checked the details and found out there are three background jobs that weren't schedule. But i dont know the specifics of these background jobs. It says in the details
-schedule background job for missed deadlines
-schedule background job for worked items with errors and
-schedule background job for deadline monitoring
I hope you can give me a detailed procedure in scheduling these jobs.
    Warm Regards,
    Charm

    Hi,
these jobs are to run to ensure that the approvers of the documents are informed about thier pending workitems which need to be approved.
you can use the transaction 'SM36' for scheduling the jobs, you can find number of jobs which might already be scheduled in your system .
    for example
    jobs for 1 ) CLEAN_REQREQ_UP
               2) BBP_GET_STATUS_2

  • Business process (Integration) monitoring - Solution Manager?

    Hi Experts
I have a requirement here for business process monitoring at my client. The client wants to have a solution for monitoring of few key business processes for example incoming orders. The flow data flow is as follows: third party system -> AS2 -> XI1 ->XI2 -> MQ->ERP. Ideally, all the incoming messages should be processed within 3 minutes of sending by thirdy party system. The basic requirement from business to have a view of the number of messages sent by the external system and numbers of orders created in the system and if there is any message with processing time of more than 3 minutes, it should be reported. Also, if there is any failure in any of the points of failure - the reason of failure needs to be reported
I am thinking of using solution mnaager diagnostics and willy introscope for collecting data from XI Adapter framweork and Integration engine and the ERP system.
    My queries -
Can solution manager fetch the data from non SAP system - AS2 service/MQ etc? if yes, how?
The solution i am thinking of - is it good one or is there any better solution - light weight/performance efficient?
In case i go ahead with the approach mentioned above, would there be an extra licensing cost for installing SMD agents and Willy on different applications?
Can we do a simple reporting i ERP system by fetching data from XI1 & XI2 systems? I understand that it wouldnt give us any details of the Java components or non SAP applications, but keeping in mind the limitations, is it a viable solution?
    Any inputs would be great.
    Regards

    HI Ethan,
I'm not sure about the BPMon framework in Sol MAn 7.0 if it can be used with PI or not. I remember from teched that the end-to-end monitoring for PI was available only in 7.1 and with SAP PI 711.
From what I know wily gives you information about the status on the system (CPU, memory consumption etc) and not about the message flow so you can still use it but for the technical monitoring set up.
Also in teched I have participated at a hands-on workshop (ALM361 [http://www.sapteched.com/emea/edu_sessions/session.htm?id=542]) where we enabled the BPMon framework to use webservices provided by a non-sap application.
    Hope this helps.

  • Information on Business Process Monitoring

    Hello experts,
I want to know if there is a way to monitor spool jobs in business process monitoring or other tool? I assume that I can monitor background jobs with BPMon but I don't find where I can monitor the content of the spool generated by the job?
I read also that job management can monitor jobs, but for the task "monitoring", it refers to BPMon.
Can you please tell me if I can do it? because I read in some doc that it is possible but no way to find how.
Thank you in advance for your help.
    BR,
    Mohamed BOUSSAID

    Hello Mohamed,
the job monitoring does not allow the monitoring of a spool file as it is an unstructured TemSe file. If you have important information to monitor you should write it into the job log and classify it via message class, message type and message number. Such structured information can be easily monitored via BPMon.
Monitoring the content of a unstrucutred spool file which can easily get several MB is too performance expensive and hence not supported.
    Best Regards

  • Restrict number of rows to be pulled from PeopleSoft's PS_LEDGER table while importing data in FDMEE

    Hi,
We need to know if FDMEE 11.1.2.3.520 product supports restricting number of rows to be pulled from PeopleSoft's PS_LEDGER table.
All the records fetched from PS_LEDGER is getting loaded into TDATASEG table.
Currently, it is trying to pull all the records based on the given "period", "version" and "year" combination. We are looking to restrict rows based on specific account/entity/program/subprogram combination.
If this is can be done, will it be an out-of-the-box functionality or does it require any customization/import scripts/api.
Admin guide does say we can use Jython to filter rows using import scripts. However, it seems to be limited to file not a table as a source.
I have attached a document with the screenshots so that the issue is better understood !
    Thanks,
    Hari

    1)
When you set a column to hidden in a classic report using the method I described, it creates hidden form elements for that column.
    <tt><input type="hidden" name="f01" value="" id="f01_0002"></tt>
You should inspect the source to figure out the name value.
Since this belongs to the wwv_flow form, we can therefore get this data with: wwv_flow.f01
Alternatively, you could have used the apex_item API to achieve the same result, which probably gives a bit better control.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37097_01/doc/doc.42/e35127/apex_item.htm#CHDBFHGA
select apex_item.hidden(1, col) || col col
    from table
Set that column to a standard report column so it doesn't escape the html.
You can also reference the data in these fields using PL/SQL using the apex_application API:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37097_01/doc/doc.42/e35127/apex_app.htm#CHDGJBAB
    2)
As above, setting the column to hidden creates hidden elements on the page. It is simply f01 because that is the only hidden field I would have on my page. With four reports on the page, you would need to be careful not to do the same on the other reports, as you would get inaccurate data. For each report, setting columns to hidden always starts with f01. In that, you would be best to use the apex_item API.
I actually initially ran into this issue when i had a tabular form on the same page as a report with hidden fields, which was causing conflicts in the page processes.
    Hope it helps.
