Restrict users with the same company code

Hi All,
I have developed editable ALV which allows users to edit and delete records and save those changes in database.
Input is Company Code , Document Number and Fiscal Year.
Now I want to restrict multiple users trying to edit/delete records with same company code at a same time.
Example:
User A is editing records for company code 1250.
If User B tries to access for same company code 1250 at the same time, it should return an
error message saying “Table currently locked by User A”.
and also want to restrict the records if multiple users are trying to edit/delete the same record at
a same time,I should give an error message.

First perform some search on Lock Concept in online help (ABAP Programming (BC-ABA), The ABAP Programming Language, Saving Data Externally, Data Consistency, The SAP Lock Concept or The SAP Lock Concept (BC-CST-EQ), SAP Lock Concept)
Then use or create thru SE11 a lock object for your table (keys must start with mandt + Bukrs, to not interfere with standard locks, e.g. EFBKPF, you may create your own z-structure and an associated lock object) and before reading data check the company code is not yet locked with ENQUEUE FM, release the lock is either implicit at end of transaction or triggered thru DEQUEUE FM or COMMIT/ROLLBACK WORK (depends also on your choice on _SCOPE Parameter value).

Use the following objects to restrict the access for Business area's:
1. A_S_GSBER "Asset Master Data Maintenance: Company Code/Business Area"
Object class is AM [Asset Accounting]
2. J_3GABRLST "Call CEM Settlement List for Organizational Units" ---> Object class is "J3GD" [Industry Business Solutions - CEM]
and there are other auth. objects for Bus.area's which might help you :
1. F_BKPF_GSB
2. F_FDES_GSB
3. F_FDSB_GSB
4. F_FDSR_GSB
5. A_IMA_GSB
6. A_IMPR_GSB

Two computers and two users with the same name. Can't copy files anymore...

Hi all, after a user migration to my new iMac I had to make a change of the shortname. I knew it was not a good idea but had no choice otherwise I had to wait other 3 hours to migrate data again...
Anyway, I managed to change my shortname with success, but one strange thing happened afterwards... I have two macs networked, both have an admin user with the same shortname/real name, 'gillo' (I followed the procedure in one of these two, the Intel iMac. The other, a Powerbook, was not modified).
While previously I had no problems in copying files from the user 'gillo' on the Powerbook TO the user 'gillo' on the iMac, after the shortname change I'm not anymore able to do it. The error I get is:
"The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items"
Doesn't matter where I put the files, Desktop, Documents, even the Drop Box, I always get the same error.
I went through some checks and this is the 'log':
- The files/folders in the iMac 'gillo' directory are not locked.
- The files can be copied without troubles to the dirs of another admin user
- Permissions are the same as the other admin user and owner/group are the correct ones.
- Both Macs have 10.4.6
- The 'gillo' user on the iMac can copy files FROM the user 'gillo' on the Powerbook.
- I repaired permissions and the hard disk booting from the install DVD.
- I tried to change permissions of the directories (such as Desktop) on the iMac 'gillo' user allowing everybody to read/write. Also a no go.
Anybody went through this already? Or maybe something similar not directly related to the short name change?

Actually, everyone missed one point, when a device is priced, the cost of icloud storage space for that device is also included in it that is why they are able to give you 5gb each for each user ID, in nutshell there is nothing free coming with apple device purchase, it is paid for. What they are trying by giving only 5gb per user ID irrespective of the number of devices used is pure broadlight looting, they take money from you when you buy each device and give you nothing, This is a case of goods and services bought but not fully deliverd ie apple can be suied for discreminatory treatment towards it's users. I wonder why no one tried this yet in America where everyone sue everyone for petty things..... there is no one to take up this issue? . if tim got any love for the guys who shell out money for the devices his company makes, he should be implimenting this as priority before someone wake up from sleep and sue him.

What's the problem with having multiple users with the same UID?

I've got three edit systems connected to the SAN using open directory off our server.
I want all edit systems to have read/write access to everything created. I don't need to protect anything from any of the systems. With all three systems logged on using the same user, I never have to change permissions.
The other cool thing about this is that Final Cut Pro will let me know if someone else is modifying a project that I have open with the warning:
“The project "projectName" has been modified externally. If another user is working on it, saving will overwrite their changes. Do you still want to save?”
This sounds great, right?

So why is it bad to have two (or more) users with the same UID?
I can see that in some situations it means that you can't prevent people from read/write privileges. But I don't want to restrict privileges.
What am I missing? With all of these warnings, it seems like if I do this my edit systems could all explode or something. Please help me understand the potential ramifications of having three users have the same UID.

1) If you have OD set up and "editor" has UID 1111, then when they log in to any machine that's bound to OD as editor, they will get UID 1111. Therefore, there won't be any of these permission errors. This is typically the recommended approach.
2) I assume you mean "You'd prefer to not using open directory?" Whatever the case, OD isn't mandatory with Xsan -- it's just that with multiple user accounts, managing them centrally tends to be easier. For 3 or 4 accounts and 3 or 4 machines maybe it's no big deal. If you go larger, it could get a lot more complicated. That said, if you set it up such that each machine has the exact same set of users (as you said, Mary = UID 502, Fred = UID 503, William = UID 504), then you can do what you want. Mary can log in from multiple machines at the same time, and in general you won't have permissions problems. Of course, if you try and read and write the same file from multiple workstations at the same time, you will get file locking issues, which will prohibit somebody from successfully writing the file.
File locking issues are different from general permissions errors. The former basically says "hey, someone else is editing this file. Therefore I won't let you edit it right now... you can read it if you want though." Permissions means somebody saves it, and Xsan thinks you saved it and own the file, when you really don't.

We have company code 100 in that Plants A B & C are theie. Each Plant can do STO to other Plant.
How to configure this scenario?

Please follow bellow path
1. Create a vendor for the Company code of the receiving plant using account group 0007 via T-Code XK01.
2. In the purchasing data view assign the supplying plant and the schema group
3. Create customer with the sales area of the vendor.
4. The shipping conditions, the delivering plant and the transportation zone determine the route in the STO.
5. In the pricing procedure determination relevant to the STO assign document pricing procedure and customer pricing procedure to get the pricing in the invoice.
6. Maintain condition records for pricing condition.
7. Maintain carrier as a partner in the customer master.
8. In OMGN select the supplying plant and assign the company code and sales area. Similarly select the receiving plant and assign the company code and sales area (The company code to which the plant is assigned to).
9. Assign the delivery type and checking rule to the document type.
10. And finally, assign the purchasing document type to the supplying plant and the receiving plant.
11. Create the STO using T-Code ME 21N and save.
12. Check for release strategy if any and release using T-Code ME 28.
13. Create delivery in background using VL10G.
14. If delivery is created, it is an indication of correct configuration and master data creation.
Stock transfer between two plants in different company codes is known as inter company stock transfer.
Material should be maintained in both supplying and receiving plant MM01
Stock should maintain only in supplying plant MB1C
Create receiving plant as a customer in supplying plants company code and sales area XD01
Assign this customer number in receiving plant details OMGN
Assign supplying sales area in supplying plant details OMGN
Assign delivery type NB for in combination of supplying/ receiving plants.
Create STO ME21N
As it is normal there in the item details we should get shipping date i.e. customer number
Go for Delivery VL10B
Shipping point *****
Select PO go for execute
then select the delivery then go for delvy ............create delvy,,,, delvy number generated.

Click on picking
enter the picking qty
Click on PGI
in the mean time check in the PO history you will get the details

If you want to carry out a cross-company-code stock transport order with delivery but without a billing document, you must set the Relevant for Billing (data element FKREL) indicator in Customizing of the item type to "blank" (Not relevant for billing).
The following applications are involved in this type of stock transfer:
? Purchasing (MM-PUR) in entering the order
? Shipping (LE-SHP) in making the delivery from the issuing plant
? Billing (SD-BIL) in creating the billing document for the delivery
? Inventory Management (MM-IM) at goods receipt in the receiving plant

-create a dummy customer in supplying plant's sales area(if u have one sales area, create in tat comp code n sales area)
-assign this customer number to receiving plant's details along with the sales area,
-Assign the STO doc type(UB) to Supplying plant, along with checking rule
-Assign the Del type (NL/NLCC) to Supplying n receiving plant.

Table V_T500P- define different country grouping to the same company code

Hello Gurus,
When I try to update table V_T500P with different country grouping to two personnel areas that have same company code I get the following message:
"The country grpg of company code xxx has been changed. This company code is used in other pers. areas. The country grouping will also be changed. Make changes?"
How can I define two different countries to the same company code in this table?
For example-
Personnel Area DE09 (Germany), Company Code 0234 (KPG EAMER)- country grouping 01
Personnel Area DK05 (Denmark), Company Code 0234 (KPG EAMER)- country grouping 09
when I try to change the country grouping of one of the countries it changes them both with the massage I wrote above.

Actually, I know that there is a way because the initial definition in my system was: different country groupings to different company code (can I attach here a screen shot?)
But when I try to change one of the country grouping it chnages all the countries from the same company code.
Example:
In the begining it was:
Pers. Area SE01 Company code 0234, country grouping 06
Pers. Area IL03 Company code 0234, country grouping IL
Pers. Area DE03 Company code 0234, country grouping 01
Now if I'm trying to chage the country grouping of Pers. Area IL03 from IL to 05 (for example), it changes everything. I know there is a way to change it without changing them all. I just don't know what is the way...

There are multiple users with the same display name

We have a user and when she get an item assigned to her she sees the following alert:
"There are multiple users with the same display name USERNAME and at least one of them does not have read permissions to some of the files"
Now I looked in the database and when I run the following query with the username:

Then I get 2 same usernames back, How can I get rid of one of them ? When I access TFS trough the portal I only find 1 occurence of this user.
We use VS2013 and TFS2013 update 4

Why do I see multiple users with the same name as an output of "users"

Recently, I found a peculiar thing when I typed "users" in the terminal. There were three users with the same name. After restart(power went down) I now see only one user there. Is this normal and why it can be happening? Why are there duplicate users sometimes?

Oh there is another option on mine besides "Run command as a login shell" called "Update login records when command is launched" I have them both disabled. Check for a second option maybe.

I'm getting the errors below and but I have not got any BSOD.
The errors I'm getting in eventviewer are Pku2ulog failed to start 0xC--35, Negolog failed to start, IDListenLog failed to start, P2PLog failed to start and HomegroupLog failed to start, all with the same failure code 0xC-- 35.
This is what the logs files says about each error.
Pku2ulog:
Unknown( 10): GUID=c36a26fb-03a9-d591-3984-dc17e4a48527 (No Format Information found).
p2plog:
Unknown( 89): GUID=fc9d5ca5-e6c8-627c-be74-e6e0a98bbf57 (No Format Information found).

However, the 'Unknown(xx)' number changes times to times.

If you have Home group set up, please go to Control Panel – Network and Sharing Center. Choose homegroup and sharing options and click “Leave the homegroup”.

2 Users with the same name/shortname on the same machine

What will happen if:
There is a local user called Bob and a network user on a server called Bob? Before you even post anything, please let me know if you have actually SEEN this before. I know something will happen, I just don't know what. Again, 2 different users with the same name. YES it is possible to create, but I have not tested it yet. One home is on the local machine and the other is a network home directory. I didn't post this in the server section for this reason...the question is about a client machine running 10.5.4 not server, so it belongs here! Thanks to all who help and my guess is a dialog box pops up with a choice of network or local? Not sure, but it is going to be quite an interesting topic.

The first thing I need to ask is will it do any damage to the system files if a user logs in with the same resolving name?I know I know the UIDs are different, but maybe have the same shortname? Not sure if it will work. The network users authenticate via LDAP and the server is set to an Open Directory Master. Now as for the client machine:
#1 - If I create both test users (local and network), will I be able to set the network as a Mobile Home Directory even though there is an existing home folder for the local user?
#2 - I want one specific user to have the same login name and password, but a different login "reaction" when the user logs in depending on the location. For example, I have a current network user Bob, password 1234 who is logged in and connected to the server. He finishes working on his project at the office and then goes home for the day. When he gets home, I want his to be able to login with the user name Bob, connecting to the local account on his machine. I DO NOT want to user PHDs, but rather have two separate home folders for the same resolving login user name! I know it is a lot to ask for but, here is my next question...
#3 - If I create two different home folders for the same resolving name, but they are accessed in two different locations, one with a server LDAP authentication and one locally (127.0.0.1), will it work?

I have a scenarios. One plant is selling a part to other plant at a margin. Both plants belongs to the same legal entity.
How can I map this scenario in SAP?
What will be the cost of my part in these two plants?
What mechanism I would use to transfer the stock from supplying plant to the buying plant?

To map this scenario, you should use Profit Centre Accounting.
Example
Matl XYZ is to be transferred from Plant 1000 to Plant 2000 at a profit.
Value of Matl XYZ in Plant 1000 is $100
Transfer Price: $120
From FI view point, there would not be any Accounting document as both Plants belong to the same Company Code.
From PCA view:
Plant 1000:
Internal Revenues Dr. 120
Stock                  Cr. 100
Profit Margin        Cr.    20
Plant 2000:
Stock                                 Dr. 120
Delivery from Profit Centre    Cr. 120
Effectively, the value of Matl XYZ in Plant 1000 remains at $100 and in Plant 2000, it is $120.

One User gets error Message saving an Incident, another user with the same rigthts not

We have a user sometimes getting an error message (see beyond) when saving an Incdient eg. only modified the descrition field. The user is able to create, update and resolve all other incidents. The user also may have changed this incident before.
When we use an other user with the same rigths, this user is allowed to modify the description field (and others)
We tested: The behavoir does not change for the first user, after the second user changed something.
It's not the workflow for the first assigned to date
No other user tries to use this incidents
We have a custom field, but it is not used in this case (so I know Romans SQL

Transfer with in same Company code with a fixed mark up

HI gurus,
here is the situation ,we purchase some unlabelled packing materials form vendor in the distribution center , then pack them up into many smaller packages with our own label , after that ,the DC transfer packed material to store for sales .
the requirement is that ,we want to manage both the stock of raw material and goods for sales in different article number ,and when doing the tranfer posting from DC to store ,the cost of package material can be included in the transfer cost of sales goods,additionally with a fixed mark up. BTW , the DC and store belong to same company code .
any suggestion?

you can achieve your requirement by
Mark up or by paking scenario if you use packing scenario you can use that item category is relevent for pricing and you can add packing charges into your main product pricing
