Restricted key fields & copying queries.

We created a multiprovider and wanted to copy some queries from an existing infocube.  We are using RSZC to do this.  The queries that we are coping use restricted key figures (RKF).  If the multiprovider does not have the RKF it copies it as well.  But it creates it with the extension _x.
So I copy two queries that both use a RKF named ZRKF, I end up with ZRKF_1 & ZRKF_2 defined in the multiprovider.  Is there any way I can copy queries over and get the needed RKF without having duplicates of the RKF?  (i.e. copy over ZRFK and not end up with ZRFK_1 & ZRFK_2)
Thanks,
Chris Robertson

Hi Chris,
If you copy all queries that you want from Cube A to Cube B in one shot, then you will be left with just RKF(s)_1.
You can then attempt to remove this _1 off the RKF by modifying the record in SE16 > RSZCOMPDIR.
Hope this helps...

  • How to copy restricted key figures in query designer ?

    hi,
i have created a query in query designer (BI 7.0).
How can i copy existing restricted key figures ? i can't find anything. i always have to create a new one, and then i have to do all the things like 'details of selection' etc.... manually. that CANNOT be, there MUST be a way to copy those key figures.
    any ideas ?
    best regards, Martin

    Hi Martin,
Restricted key figures can be stored on the infoprovider basis . For which right click on the key figure (left hand side pane ), Select the necessary key figure and assign the restriction through characteristics combination, and give it a restriction and save it . Next tiem when you create query on the same info provider it should appear in the left hand side as readymade reusable piece .
    Hope that helps.

  • Copy restricted key figures

    hi,
how can i copy restricted key figure?
    thanx

    Hello Elif,
it's not possible because it requires a tecnical name to a restricted or a calculated keyfigure which are cube level. This technical name should be given by you.
    Sarhan.

  • Can't change a Restricted Key Figure technical name in QD BEx 7.1.0

A few days ago I created a new Restricted Key Figure in Query Designer and it was autopopulated with a default technical name.  So I immediately changed it to 'ZRNPVORDINTFACTPPP_FY'.
Now, today, I realized that the 'F' in the technical name is a typographical error and I need to remove it.  I clicked the Restricted Key Figure on the left from within the list and clicked the Change/Display pencil icon in the properties window, but the Technical Name field is still greyed out.  Also tried right clicking and selecting Edit, but same problem.
Would removing all instances of where the figure is used in the query and other queries allow me to change it?  Could it be a user rights issue?
As always, thanks for the help!

    Hi,
After creating a RKF , you cannot change its technical name.
If the RKF has a lot of restrictions and creation of another similar RKF is a big process ,
you can create a copy of the same through transaction RSZC.
In RSZC , give the source and target cube name as the name of the multiprovider on which your query is built,
select restricted keyfigure ,click on execute ,  in the list which comes after execute find your KF 'ZRNPVORDINTFACTPPP_FY'
and click on transfer/copy option available.Change the technical name as you want and then click on execute. A similar keyfigure with the desired technical name will be created in query designer ,global keyfigures .
Replace the same with your Old keyfigure in report.

  • Add a new key field in an InfoObject

    Hi all,
I have to add a new key field in a standard InfoObject (0vendor) in order to extract data correctly from a table in R3 which has both the vendor and the plant as keys.
    Doubts:
    1. the 0vendor InfoObject is already used in several InfoCubes
    2. it contains data
    3. we have another object built with reference to 0vendor
Any problem with the existent InfoCubes and queries if I change the structure of this InfoObject?
Have I got to delete data on it first?
any problem on the object built with reference to 0vendor?
I have just thought of updating the object 0vendor (this would avoid lots of substitutions and lot of work) instead of developing a brand new object..
Do you agree with this kind of solution or would you do something different?
    Thanks
    Elisa

    Hi Elisa,
"In R/3 the vendor sub-range is blank and we use only one Purch Org, so no matter."
This is OK but remind that it shall remain like this ALWAYS; because if you design your model with these assumptions and later you start getting sub ranges and/or a second P.O then you can forget your model...
Replacing 0VENDOR by ZVENDOR completely will depend on your requirement; I don't know which content you are using but you should try to keep 0VENDOR as such because ZVENDOR will be compounded with 0PLANT and that's not the same... (e.g. the key will be displayed like "PLANT/VENDOR" in reports unless you drilldown the PLANT in front of ZVENDOR... your users may perhaps not appreciate...)
In this matter, how are you going to proceed?
    - fill the vendor ID in ZVENDOR and have 0PLANT as compounding key? In this case you'll have to add 0VENDOR attributes in ZVENDOR as well. With this scenario you will end with redundant data since attributes for 0VENDOR will be the same for each combination 0PLANT/ZVENDOR.
    - wiser: have 0VENDOR and 0PLANT both in the compounding key. This way you could have ZVENDOR key CHAR1 and leave it empty (it would be a "dummy" key you wouldn't use in reports)
The good thing here is that you don't have to replicate your 0VENDOR design in the ZVENDOR. the bad thing for you is that you NEED to keep both IObjs; thus manage your DIM issue.
Your approach to fill the cubes is absolutely right! What are the sizes of your cubes?
You should take this opportunity to check you cubes datamodel:
    - are the dimension well deisgned? (run report SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS in order to see the cardinality of your DIMs). I am sure this can be improved.
    - are the cubes partitioned? Every cube should be partitioned for performance reasons.
    - if the cubes are huge, wouldn't it be good to do a logical partitioning? E.g have one cube per year and a multicube on top...
Finally use dimension number range buffering when loading data into an empty cube and other techniques like dropping all indexes in order to speed up your load process and minimize reporting downtime. If your reports are based on multicubes and your model is not too complex you could even keep the copy cube instead of moving your data back to the original; you would then just have your multicube transport to make the switch of the new model available for reporting...
hoping this help you to go with the right path...
    regards,
    Olviier.

  • Duplicated Restricted Key Figures?

My queries for the Sales Overview Cube (0SD_C03) have "duplicated" Restricted Key Figures. Neither myself nor my query designer has created them. Example:
    Z0COST_1
    Z0COST_2
    Z0COST_3
    Z0COST_4
Has anyone else encountered this problem?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Michael;
If you have copied your query the restricted key figures and calculated key figures would also be created automatically with sequential order _2, _3, _4 and so on. Pls check you might have copied the query. In this case I would recomend you to create structures.
    Hope this helps.

  • Display technical names of restricted key figures

    Hi everybody,
In a query, I would like to display the technical names of restricted key figures instead of their description as a heading. Is that possible and how can I do this?
Thank you for any help, regards, Kathrin!

    Hi Kathrin,
I believe you can do this in only one query. In the query you want to have the technical name ..Rigth click>properties> description will change the name of the field only in that specific query..not for all the queries..
Else you can run the query and make changes in workbook format..Even this should serve the purpose..

  • Currency translation for a restricted key figure in Query designer

    Dear Experts,
In my query i am using a restricted Keyfigure (ZRKF1 which is reusable). I have to change the currency translation key of the restricted Key Figure  from zcur1 to zcur2. I am not able to edit zrkf1 Currency translation in the properties( It is in gray colour) ,while i can do it for a normal keyfigure.  if i edit zrkf1 then other queries will be affected. How should i solve this? Can i copy and paste the zrkf1 to zrkf2 in order to use zrkf2 with currency translation zcur2 in my query ? How can i coy and paste restricted key figure?
    Thanks,
    Riya

    Hello Riya
I think you can't change the currency transaltion type for RKF... to change it in RKF just make the changes in the KF which you have used in RKF....
If you don't want to change the CURR translation type in KF1 than copy it paste it (KF2)and change in that KF2...now u can use KF2 in restricted KF...
    Thanks

  • Restricted Key figure in Qery

    I have a critical problem - many points for a solution :). In my cube (Purchasing data - 0PUR_C01) I have several invoices that correspond to a material. Each invoice has an invoice date and an invoice amount;
    Cube contents:
    Material A - 2004-01-14 - 1000 USD
    Material A - 2004-03-05 - 1500 USD
    Material A - 2004-12-20 - 1700 USD
    Material B - 2004-03-15 - 100 USD
    Material B - 2004-04-17 - 200 USD
    Material B - 2004-11-30 - 300 USD
Now, in the report I need to define a restricted (or calculated, or anything) key figure containing the amount from the latest invoice for each material. In the examples above the result would be:
    Material A - 1700 USD
    Material B - 300 USD
The restricted key figure is later to be used as a base in price development calculations.
How can I solve this, if it’s not possible to solve in the report I’m ready to restructure the flow.

    Hi Daniel,
You can achieve it with the Aggregation settings of the Key Figure as follows:
    Aggregation: SUM
    Exception aggregation: Last value
Agg. referen. char 0CALDAY or whatever temporary characteristic you use in the cube.
You must consider that this setting will affect the KPI aggregation procedure and probably this won't be the expected result in the other queries so you better create a copy of the KPI with this settings and map it with initial KPI in the Update rules of the cube.
    Hope it helps,
    Andreu

  • How to find which Restricted Key Figures are using a specific hierararchy??

    HI Experts,
I am updating a very important hierarchy which is used in many queries and in many Restricted key figures. Is it possible to find in which Restricted Key Figures this specific hierarchy is used??
    Thanks in advance.
    Meyling.

    Hi
I was able to find a solution
I built a new dataset in report builder using the same table as before but tried out the "Group and Aggregate" function and for the case_ship
field I chose "Sum" as my aggregate.... In essence this gave me a very cool and easy daliy sum of the shipped cases.
When I used this new dataset and built my matrix report I was able to easily get the max daily shipment for each product by week, month and
    year.

  • Copying queries between cubes

    Hi,
I would like to copy queries from a cube to a MultiProvider. Both have the same structure.
I found the help at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/9f/f57539d6d1c93be10000000a114084/content.htm . There it says:
    Result
The copied queries and the copied sub-objects have their own names. The new names are derived from the name of the original object and the added elements _<number>.
So the original query remains connected to my cube and a copy of this query will be created pointing to my MultiProvider. The technical name will change from e.g. "zmy_query" to "zmy_query_1". The same then applies to sub-objects (structures, calculated key figures and restricted key figures).
    Did I understand this correct?
    Thanks!

    Hi Steve,
Structure can be re-usable where it holds multple number of CKFs/RKFs/KFs/Chars.... By using RSZC you can copy reports and its adjacent componets to other cube.
We do this activity during enhancement activity, not to stop users from viewing reports.

  • DSO - What key fields and data fields in dso

    Hi experts,
I need to create a dso in between the cube and 2 data sources(2lis_11_vaitm, 2lis_12_vcscl) to stage the data. My question is: what key fields and data fields to choose for the dso? is there a standard dso to copy? please explain in detail the model to set up, whether to connect both the ds's to dso and then to cube or one ds to dso and the other to the cube. more details will help.

    Check this for standard DSO:

  • DSO Key Fields

    Hi Experts,
Can i use KEY FIGURES as KEY FIELDS in DSO
    and
What is MAXIMUM no of Key Fields can i have in a DSO
    Thanks

    Hi
key figures are the amouts required for reporting, say you are working on sales data, then look at the report what amounts are required to get all the columns / key figurs in the report.
Granularity: is the level of detail you require, some times you only require the sales document level, other times at the sales document item level.
Unique identification of record: uniqueness of a record in ods is maintained by how you define the key fiedls in the ods. key fields in the ods are equal to the primany indexes on a table. eg: if you want the grain to be on the sales document level, then do not keep the item in the key fields. then probably company code, sales org, sales document and fiscal year.
affect on one level up the ods:
if you require item level data in the cube, then you need to keep the sales doc item in the ods key field.
There has to be at least one key field and one data field.
    Additional restrictions:
    -         You can create a maximum of 16 key fields (if you have more key fields, you can combine fields using a routine for a key field (concatenate).)
    -         You can create a maximum of 749 fields
    -         You can use 1962 bytes (minus 44 bytes for the change log)
    -         You cannot include key figures as key fields
    Assign points if it helps

    Sumit

  • Show different key fields for different caracteristics in the column.

    Hi, experts
I am creating a query where there are 4 colomns reprensenting 4 different dates. But I would like to display diffferent key fields for them. For example, under DAY 1, i would like to diplay KeyField 1, for DAY2, DAY3 and DAY4, KeyField 2 et 3 will be added under them.
To do that, i made these key fields "Constant selection" and made some definition in the cells-------
On the line of DAY1 in the colomn KeyField 2 and KeyField 3, I made them "Always Hide".
But I didn't get what i wanted as the two columns (KF2 et KF3) still appear in the report, even if there are no data in these two columns.
Is it possible to realise this requirement:
    DAY1   DAY2          DAY3
    KF1     KF2    KF3   KF2     KF3
    Thanks in advance!!!!

There is no need to define a cell for this, use a restricted key figure:
KF1 needs to be restricted by Day1
KF2 restrict it by Day2 and so on,
and use those restricted figure in the key figure section, but to make the column more descriptive use a text variable for the name of the columns.
this should be easier than cell definition.
    thanks.

  • Customer Ext Variable is NOT working correctly in the Restricted Key Figure

    Hi all,
I have created a variable ZVCBLMTH (Period from 01/1996 to Last Month) with reference to
0CALMONTH  and it will be populated through  Customer Exit and it works fine.
In the selection for 0CALMONTH, I gave the range as '05/2008' to '08/2008' and this new
variable  passed the value of  range as '01/1996' to '04/2008' in RSRT.
The properties of the variable are:
Type of Variable -  Characteristic, Processing by - Customer Exit, Variable Represents - Interval
              and Variable is - Optional.
No change in the result after changing the 'Variable is' from Optional to 'Mandatory'.
This variable is used in Restricted Key Figure to calculate the number of matching records between
01/1996 & 04/2008 and somehow it is not recognizing this variable and NOT passing the results correctly.
But, there are records with 0CALMONTH between 01/1996 & 04/2008.
How could I test that which value is passed into the Restricted Key Figure for this variable, PLEASE ?
       Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Venkat.

    Hi Clemens Li
I agreed on your point. When we define the Internal table the type for element EQUNR & QUMNR , we are referring the SAP data element for EQUNR, QMNUM field.
Our doubt is even though we refer the standard data element, in the ALV display, it shows with leading zeros and also it creates problems in the filtering and in the filter window all values instead of unique nos.
    Hi Abhii
I have given below the fieldcat coding.
Friends, can you kindly clarify the above said problems. Since we use SAP ECC 6.0 any notes or patches apply is required. ( this is the basic functionality in ALV, that is my doubt).
        wls_fieldcat-col_pos   = wpv_pos.
        wls_fieldcat-fieldname = wpv_champ.
        wls_fieldcat-tabname   = wlc_tabname.
      wls_fieldcat-seltext_s = wls_fieldcat-seltext_m
        wls_fieldcat-seltext_l = wpv_libelle.
        wls_fieldcat-ddictxt   = 'L'.
        wls_fieldcat-no_out    = wv_no_out.
        APPEND wls_fieldcat TO gt_fieldcat.
    Kind regards,
    Jegathees P.
