Restricting drop down list of sold to party when creating Sample Order

Hi,
I have a requirement to restrict the view of "sold 2 parties" when users are creating sample orders/ SPA contracts.
Has anyone implemented such a scenario using ACE?
Just wondering if this is the right approach to take as I need to understand performance issues.

BUG: Sorting drop-down lists from the field tab when using "specify item values"

I've finished creating my form now, but I came across this whilst writing up my documentation for maintenance tasks.
This occurs when adding new values to a drop-down list that has the "Specify item values" checkbox in the binding tab checked.
When I then try to sort my list using the built in sort buttons, it will sort the items, but the list of specified values in the binding tab does not sort reorder to stay with the original items in the list. This is hapenning when I sort from the Object > Field tab. If I sort in the Object > Binding tab then the sort will include the specified values.
For example:
A    5
C    2
D    9
Add a new value to get:
A    5
C    2
D    9
B    10
Sort the list using the button:
A    5
B    2
C    9
D    10
But it should be:
A     5
B     10
C     2
D     9

I was able to duplicate this problem and it looks like a possible bug. I've submitted it to support.

Drop down lists are active in PDF when received by email

Hello,
I have a form with drop down lists and the form is set so that when the user submits it, the PDF form is sent, not the XML file. The problem is that when I receive the PDF form, the drop down lists are active and I can change the items in the list. Is there a way to disable this so that when the PDF form is received no changes to the form can be made?

I think you need to have a flag in a hidden field that indicates that the form has been submitted. You could set that flag on the form's pre-submit event. On the form's initialize event, check the flag. If it's been set (i.e. the form has been submitted before), programatically lock down the form. How to validate Sold to party while creating sales order

I need to validate the sold to party which is entered when a order is created.
I able to read the Partner no using the FM u2018CRM_ORDER_READ_OWu2019, but how can I check if this partner number has u2018sold to partyu2019 function assigned.

Hi Shanti,
There is a little twist in the validation that you intend to do to meet your business requirement. I will provide you with the Sap help link also. Have a look at this and you will understand the same.
[Partner Function|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm40/helpdata/EN/3c/92eceb484a11d5980800a0c9306667/content.htm] - Come to very end. Here there is a pictorial representation of how you can map a Partner function with the Business Partner Master Data. The system also maps in the similar way.
The Database tables which might be of help to you are BUT050 - Business Partner Relationship Category, CRMC_PARTNER_PFT - Definition of Partner Function Types. The rest you need to follow your own logic. I guess this will be enough to help you to get started. Let me know if you need any more inputs.

Populate a drop down list with data from Excel and fill in a text field, based on drop down selectio

I have a problem with a PDF form: There's a drop down list that I populate with Excel data that I've put in an XML file through an XSD file -- no problem here. The drop down list has a data binding to the XML file, so that a choice in the drop down list can be associated with an object in the XML file. So, when I make a choice in the drop down list, a corresponding object value is fetched from the XML file and put in a text field on the form.

There's a snag, though, and to describe it more clearly:
The XML file contains three types of objects: role, role number, and role cost center. Of these I use the first and the third, i.e. the role and the role cost center. The drop down list contains the roles, and when I select a role, the corresponding cost center is filled out in the text field. So far, so good!
But -- if the cost center has the same value for two or more roles, all of these roles "bounce back" into the drop down list, that is, they are all selected in the drop down list. How many of these you can see depend on the height of the drop down list -- if it's low you'll only see the first one.
If I modify Stefan Cameron's data in his example I get the same behavior, so the problem seems to have to do with how XML data are fetched.
I'm sure there's a workaround, but I can't find it! I've spent many hours browsing the web without finding anyone with a similar problem.

I need to create a drop down list of names which I wish to somehow link to an Excel spreadsheet.
Please let me know the steps I need to do. I've tried several things, but nothing seems to work and I'm not sure what I am doing wrong.

[Forum FAQ] The Value drop down list is grayed out when you perform search for Group Policy Objects in GPMC

Symptom
On Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2012 R2, when you use the Search for Group Policy Objects feature in GPMC, the “Value” field is not populated when you choose “User Configuration” as the Search Item. (See Figure 1.)

Cause
The happens because the Data of the (Default) value of the following Registry Key is not correct.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\GPExtensions\{4D2F9B6F-1E52-4711-A382-6A8B1A003DE6}]
By default the Data is (value not set). (see Figure 2)

Resolution
The registry keys under [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\GPExtensions] are the Group Policy Preference Client Side Extensions. The CSE name of the GUID {4D2F9B6F-1E52-4711-A382-6A8B1A003DE6} is
RemoteApp and Desktop Connections. Please follow the steps below to resolve the issue.
1. Locate the registry key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\GPExtensions\{4D2F9B6F-1E52-4711-A382-6A8B1A003DE6}]
2. Take the ownership of this key: Right click on the registry key and choose Permissions option and click the Advanced button on the dialogue window. Then on the Advanced Security Settings dialogue window, click Change button to take the ownership
of the key for the current logon account and make the current logon account Full Control permission with the registry key. (See Figure 3.)

3. Change the data of (Default) value from "(value not set)" to
"RemoteApp and Desktop Connection Component". (See Figure 4)

4. Once the steps above are completed, the Value drop down list will be populated again when you perform Search in GPMC. (See Figure 5)

Selecting values in drop down list

Iam trying to create the drop down list. I got some programs, creating these lists for both parameter and ranges on the selection screen using 'VRM_SET_VALUES' . What the user wants is when the selection screen is loaded, he wants to select from the list OR ENTER ANY DATA WHICH IS NOT THERE IN THE LIST. To be able enter any data other than what is there in the list is not working for me.

Do you want to do it clientside (DHTML/JS/DOM) or serverside (JSP/JSTL)? This is easy to do clientside, but as you're asking this issue in a JSP/JSTL forum ..

Drop down list driven by drop down list

I have two drop-down lists, the second one is driven by the first selection, I am wondering how to do it.
Is it similar as the page refreshed by drop-down list?

Dates Drop Down List

I have a table which stores a list of valid dates. These dates are then foreign keyed to another table date column
I have a VO which selects a date field. In the attribute I have set it as Simpale Date and specified dd-MMM-yyy format. The default date format in the Application Definition file is dd-MMM-yyyy. I have created a domain for this VO and then set the Item to drop down list in the group. WHen I try and access the page with the dropdown list I get the following error :
javax.faces.convert.ConverterException: Not a date
Now, to confuse matters, If I set the date format in the VO to dd-MM-yyyy it runs the page and shows the drop down list in dd-MM-yyyy format. However, when I try and save it then throws an error for the FK saying the parent does not exist. I am assuming that this is because it is expecting dd-MMM-yyyy.

You could turn on ADF BC diagnostics (-Djbo.debugoutput=true) to see which date value it is trying to insert. Or You could also temporarily disable the foreign key constraint to see which value gets inserted.
You can then compare the two values, it might be related to the "hidden" time component stored against date columns.
In general, we recommend usage of meaningless Primary keys. So, if you have control over the DB Design, you might want to introduce an ID column in the dates lookup table to avoid the issue all together.

While creating a PO (ME21N), based on the Account Assignment Category(KNTTP) entered , I have to restrict the values in the drop down list for selecting the material group (MAKTL). I have searched some in SDN, but couldn't find anything suitable. Appreciate any help.

We are trying to restrict the values in the drop down list box for payment method field for direct deposit iview.
Here Payment is the Zlsch field.
here we are trying to have only 3 vlaues in the drop down. Do I have to do it from java code or can this be restricted on the ECC side?

What you have to do is create a DropDown ByIndex element instead of by Key and create a context node PaymentMethodNode and a value attribute PaymentAttribute under it ....then write the following code in the wdDoInit() method as :

Yes. I believe it shows your available UOM in the contract
either Basic UOM or Order Unit / both for respective material
it will not list all list ofUOM for material.

At the moment, any user who logs in can see the entire list of clients, however I want to filter the list based on their username log in.

I think I need to amend the sql statement to something like this - but I haven't quite got it right:

Where do I drop the code for the colname info?

I don't do PHP but it would be something like:
$sql = sprintf (SELECT DISTINCT * FROM qry_test WHERE username = %s GROUP BY client_name ASC, $_SESSION['MM_Username'] );
or you can just embed the session variable into the sql string.
But why are you using the GROUP BY clause? If you just need a distinct list of names, use the DISTINCT keyword and reduce your select list to only the needed column.

Edit drop down list in SHD0(transaction variant)

How can we control the values displayed in drop doen list using transaction variant? i am using SHD0 to create a transaction variant and want only few values to be dispayed in drop down list instead of all the values in orignal transaction.

As far as I konw, you can not.
You can edit the properties (Visible/Invisible, etc ) but not restrict the values originally displayed.

Custom drop down list for the filter for BEX report

Hi, all:
I am writing a query for a BEX report that prompts the user to enter a value for a field "GL account". I would like to have the user select from a limited number of GL options rather than have the whole Chart of accounts show up. Is there a way to make a "custom" drop down list for the filter?

You need to make your GL account info object as an authorization object. And in the info object ,for BEx you need to select the option "only authorized values".
Create an analyis authorization on gl account and assign the restricted set of GL accounts to the user. Asign this analysis authorization to the user.In the query restrict this infoobject with an authorization variable. This would solve your purpose.user would be able to see only a selected set of GL accounts for which he is authorized.
