Restricting KFF display values

Hi All,
We have a requirement to restrict the Key Flex field values to be filtered based on the OU. Either we need to disable the KFF field for specific OU or should restrict the KFF to show OU specific values.
Please let me know whether the above requirement can be achieved via personalization else is there any other way to resolve the issue.

Hi,
Why dont you make the KFF as Context sensitive for each OU. and then on page load
capture the orgId from pageContext.getOrgId()
and then set the flexfield context programatically.

and regarding your next requirement, You should create a new table which will contain Date, Worker Number and any other details that you want.
In the form, for every date for which you want to enter the data, you will select the max(date) before the current date and maximum worker number for that selected date and then from that number you can select next 15/20 workers or whatever your number is.
e.g. for the first time if you want to enter data for 01-jul-2010 and you have work for 15 workers, you will select max(date) where date<01-jul-2010, but you will not find any bcoz this is your first entry. So wat you will do is will start popupating your grid from number 1-15.
Next day you will select max(date) where date<02-jul-2010, you will find 01-jul-2010. Then you will select max(number) for 01-jul-2010, you will find 15. So populate your grid from number 16-30 (whatever your number is). and so on.

Restrict dictionnary Search help displayed values.

Hi,
my problem is that I have to display a search help. The search help already exists in the dictionnary and is defined using a Dictionnary Table.
I need to display the same serach help but I have to filter the results using a range of values for one of the fields and I would like to know how to proceed.
I know that user-exit exists in some search help, it's not the case here.
The kind of solutions I'm looking for is :
- directly restrict the existing search hellp values
- found a way to display a search help from abap using an internal table ( cause it's easy in this case to do fill a internal table doing the sql request myself)
- if the solutions above can't apply, doing my own search help in the dictionnary but in this case, I don't know to make this search help for values restriction.
I specify that the screen use the screen painter, it may be important ?

Hi,
Search Hels exits is only for exceptions, so in our case, we won't use the search help exits, it is better create/change the Custome one and attach the same to the fiels, there you can give the Default value for the fileds, so there you can restrict the values
or else, we have an option like, APPEND SEARCH HELPS, so by using this, we can restrict some field values, this Append Search helps, can be append to Standard Search helps also, so do Append the Standard Search help and add your field and give the Default values to restrict the user

How to retrive KFF segment values in each row of VO?

Hi,
I need to retrve Special Information Type values in HR screen.
There is a table based on the VO and on of the column is a flex (KFF) linked ot the same VO.
How can i retrieve the KFF segments values from each row of the table (or VO row).
The VO contains the ID_FLEX_NUM only.
Specific issue details:
It is an HR screen
page : PersonSIT Page
Region : SpecialInformationType(Table)
VO : SpecialInformationDetailsVO
flex id="HrSitKeyFlex" flexName="PEA" flexFieldAppShortName="PER" user:akAttributeCode="HR_PERSON_SIT_FLEX"

How to restrict the Null Values for Key Figules in the Bex Query

Hi Friends,
 I want to restrict the Null values of a perticular key figure in the Bex Query Output.
I will explain in details. i have 3 key figures in my query.. let us assume.. key1 key2key3

0 1 10.00
i don't want to see the the records for which key 2 is 0.
we have a setting in the Bex Query for restricting the Zero values in the query properties. If we enable that setting it will show
4 4 100.00
but i want the report to display..
4 4 100.00
0 1 10.00
can any body guide me. i want to display the values if key2 <> 0.

Display values of a single field in a multiple rows in a table region

I want to display values of a single field ( which is in a table region) in multiple rows and also need to restrict the values from decimal number. If i click save, then it will throw exception "Decimal not allowed".

I am assuming you are talking about displaying substrings from the Reg No in different rows. For this you would need to write a query which identifies the substrings and creates a separate row for each (ensure you choose values for all other columns in the table row). Kindly let me know if the understanding is incorrect.
To validate against decimal value you can use the java code by checking the difference of the number and the number on which modulus has been applied. Hope that helps.

Cannot display values in LOV when using oe_transaction_types in Web ADI Template in R12

I use BNE_INTEGRATOR_UTILS.CREATE_TABLE_LOV to create a POPList by using the view oe_transaction_types, but there is no any data displayed in the order type column, while can use table oe_transaction_types_tl to create the POP List and display value. Does the Web ADI LOV not support the MOAC? Here is the API:

Hello Experts,
I have a query on a multiprovider that display the following results

Now I want to restrict and display each product that has max Qty as below

If I use TopN condition on Plant, Product, Date I will only get one record but I want Max of Qty for each product like Group By Plant, Product, Date.
Any advice is appreciated.

It is obvious if you are giving N as 1 then only one value will be displayed that is topmost value.
Since your the number of records that has to be displayed is not static, create a condition on all the three characteristic as mentioned in the earlier post and use some maximum value for N like 9999999

Is it possible to easily view the actual (not displayed) value of a cell?

Is it possible to easily view the actual value of a cell calculated by a formula, not the displayed value after it has been rounded off?
For instance, if you enter the number 1.23456789 and display it rounded to 3 decimal places, you can still see the full, actual value in the formula bar:
The problem arises when you reference that number in a formula: you can't see the underlying value (even though it's obviously known to Numbers):
Is there a way to get the formula bar (or a tooltip) to show the full, unrounded value? Changing the display to more decimal places is not very convenient, especially on big spreadsheets. Maybe it could be done via AppleScript?
A related issue arises when you try to look at the sum or average of a number: if the numbers being summed have the same number of rounded decimals, the sum displayed is rounded too. I find this very annoying: I want to see the actual value, not how my spreadsheet may be displaying it in that cell.
Although, curiously, rounding to any number of decimals as long as they are not all the same displays the full, correct underlying values:

I did it with an AppleScript.
Now any time I have a cell or cell range selected, I do one click (AppleScript menu > Display Value at Full Precision), and it shows me a popup alert that simply reads:

Change display value of "select list"

Hi!
I have a problem with a select list, I want to change the display value through an own pop up (page 5 of apex application) after I submit in it.
The select list is based on a sql query:

beside I have an link to open a pop up window:

On the pop up site there is a tree and a submit button which close the window and renew the original page:

Through the tree I get the value (Group-ID) which I need.
When I'm back on page 4 a "before header" renew page process links again on the side 4 and change the value of my select list. Afterwards the values have changed correctly but the display value is still the old one. It only change when i go on an other page of the apex application and come back.
I don't know why it doesn't change immediately!?

I have done with a solution just in a nutshell of what u r looking for:
1.create HTML region.
Add two items : Select list with redirect(P6_X) and text field(P7_X)
2. Select list is based on LOV query as :
select empno d,empno r from emp ;
Source value is Empno Type:DBcolumn.
3.The text field Source type : SQL Query .
Query : select ename from emp where empno = :P6_X
Now select from the dropdown empno and it will populate the Ename value accordingly based on the query .
U can have more than one text fields and populate those in the same way.....

Im report display the values are displaying as 01,02,03..
but i want to display it as 01 xxx,02 yyy, 03 zzz.

You can do this with "concatenate".
example:
In you code check where you final internal table is getting filled up before that do this concatenate and then append it.
data t_text type string.
t_text = textfield
CONCATENATE 'Xfield'
                 t_text
                  INTO wa_workarea SEPARATED BY space.

Formatting display value in LOV

I have an LOV whose display value is a concatenation of 2 database fields. That works fine. But I want to put a tab in between the
2 fields, otherwise the values are displayed one right after the other, and the columns are out of alignment from one row to the next.
In sqlplus, I can do:
select CHR(9)||to_char(objecttype_id)||CHR(9)||objecttype_name from hdb_objecttype;
And I get:
12 acoustic velocity meter
1 basin
11 canal
2 climate site
3 confluence
4 diversion
10 hydro plant unit
5 hydro power plant
6 reach
7 reservoir
14 riverware dataobject
When I do the same thing in my LOV query, I get
12 acoustic velocity meter
1 basin
11 canal
2 climate site
3 confluence
4 diversion
10 hydro plant unit
5 hydro power plant
6 reach
7 reservoir
14 riverware dataobject
I've tried lpad and rpad, also. With blanks as padding they produce the above results. If I use a character such as '.' they behave
correctly, but I still don't have standard field widths because of the variance in character sizes.
Why won't any of this formatting work, and how can I get it to?

In addition to what Max said, you may be displaying this in a region where whitespace is compressed; in which case you would need to use non-breaking spaces in place of regular spaces:
SELECT     REPLACE ( RPAD ( TO_CHAR (objecttype_id)

           , CHR (38) || 'nbsp;'      -- CHR (38) is ampersand
...Speaking of compressing whitespace, this site does it.

Null display value in List of Values

Hello
In Page item ---> List of Value ---> Null display value I need to give a different value depending on language
I tried using an item in the "Null Display Value" e.g. &P1_Display_value.
This does not work ... I get " &P1_Display_value. " and not the value contained in the item
Anyone come across this before?

That did'nt solve my problem. Actually i am trying to get the arraylist data one by one into different textareas. There are two arrays one is quesArray and the other quesIdArray. I need the quesIdArray in the individual text areas.How can i achieve this?
I am using the following code to do that.
