Results to be used in another calculation field.

Dear All,
I have a report showing average month in unit wise. The result is aggregated for "total" average month. Now I want to use that value, total result value in a formula variable for calculation. i want to create another calculation based on result which i have got in average month field.
Average Month field is CKF.
Example:
Technical id number     AVGMonths                  MONTH
  '9185                                         1
  '9185                                         3
  '9185                                         4
  '9185                                         2
Overall result is                         10
I need overall result 10 to be displayerd in MONTH field.
Please help me to overcome from this problem.
Regards,
MohammeD.

Hi,
It seems it has some limitation when we use SUMCT function with CKF.
Please check the below thread for the same

Try using SUMGT function also.
Hope it helps you.

  • Using a "Sum" Calculated Field on a "Count" query column?

    Here's my query using the Query Report Builder:
    SELECT Col1, COUNT(Col1) AS Count_Column
    FROM Table
    GROUP BY Col1
    It generates a report that lists all the values of column
    "Col1" and how many times each value was used in Col1
    For instance, if Col1 contained the value 'A' 12 times, 'B' 6
    times, and 'C' 19 times, the report would generate this:
    A - 12
    B - 6
    C - 19
    What i need as a column footer is the total count of all the
    values, which in this case 12+6+19=37
    I am using a calculated field, setting the data type to
    Double, the calcuation to Sum, and the perform calculation on to
    'query.Count_Column'. Reset Field When is set to None.
    When I run the report, it doubles the last number in the
    report's Count column (19) and displays 38 on the page. I tested
    this with another column and it doubled the last number in the
    report as well.
    How can I get it to properly Sum my Count_Column?

    Hi,
    You need to check note 208366.1 which explains why totals can be blank. Without knowing the detail of you decode function it is hard to say what needs to be changed. Try putting a sum in front of the decode e.g.
    sum(decode(period, 'Jan period', value, 0))
    Hope that helps,

  • DAX Dynamic Banding | Calculated Member based on Calculated Field

    Good morning,
    I've created a Power Pivot model that measures the blood glucose levels of clinical patients at specific times of the day. The requirement is that this metric, let's call it GlucoseLevel, is always averaged as it wouldn't make sense to sum up the values.
    To meet this first requirement, I set the "Summarize By" property of the GlucoseLevel column to "Average".
    The second requirement is to band the GlucoseLevel values so that groups of people can be measured by this band rather than by the individual measure values. I created a banding table in Excel and then imported it into the Power Pivot model. The banding table
    has three columns (BandName, MinValue and MaxValue) and has the following values:
    VERYLOW: Min Value = 0; Max Value = 3.99
    OK: Min Value = 4; Max Value = 6.99
    WARNING: Min Value = 7; Max Value = 10.99CRITICAL: Min Value = 11; Max Value = 30.00
    It is at this point where I face my challenge. I have a GlucoseLevel measure and I have a banding table. Great. The challenge is: How do I create a calculated, dynamic
    member that will look at my GlucoseLevel measure (at whatever level), do a lookup to my banding table, and then return the "BandName" column from the Banding table at that specific level? So to clarify what I mean by level: I want to be able
    to view the bandings at Year level, or a Month level, or even at a week level. Then depending on what level I am at, my measure should have a Band associated to it.
    I've tried to solve this issue in a couple of ways:
    Attempt 1
    Create a calculated column in my fact table that contains a nested IF statement to manually band my GlucoseLevel values. This works fine if I view my data at the lowest level of granularity, however
    it does not work if I start looking at my data at the day, week, month etc. levels
    Attempt 2
    1.) Create a calculated field (not a calculated column) that averages my GlucoseLevel measure. This is cool because it will average my measure at whatever level I am viewing it at. Let's call
    this field Bob...
    2.) Band my measure Bob by creating another calculated field (called PatientBand). This field uses my banding table (described earlier) in conjunction with my calculated field Bob. This works perfectly, except for one big flaw: Excel sees this banding field
    as a measure, and not as something that I can use as a column / row...
    So my question is: Can I trick Excel into viewing my PatientBand calculated field as an attribute, and not as a measure? And if not, how do I get around this challenge? Here is the DAX formula that I used to create my second calculated field "PatientBand":
    PatientBand:=CALCULATE(
        VALUES (Bandings[BandName]);
        FILTER (
            Bandings;
            Test[Bob] >= Bandings[MinValue]
         && Test[Bob] <= Bandings[MaxValue]
    Thanks!

    So there are 2 ways that I can think of for doing that.
    1) if you are only using MDX clients like Excel or Reporting services you can create a text based measure that returns the banding name. (Note that this sort of approach does not work at the moment with PowerView as it only displays numeric measures). This
    would effectively let you show a label next to a reading as opposed to moving the reading under a given banding column.
    Banding Name :=
    CALCULATE (
        VALUES ( Bands[BandName] ),
        FILTER (
            Bands,
            [Average of GlucoseReading] >= Bands[BandMin]
                && [Average of GlucoseReading] <= Bands[BandMax]
                && NOT ( ISBLANK ( [Average of GlucoseReading] ) )
    2) This next approach will show the results exactly as you had them in your sample screenshots. It just takes a slight bending of the DAX. I'm using a SUMX here, not because I want to sum anything, but because the "X" version of SUMX basically loops over
    every row in the specified table and sums the expression in the second parameter. I have setup the second parameter so that it only returns a single value for the average if it is in the appropriate banding.
    Banded Average:=IF (
        HASONEVALUE ( Bands[BandName] ),
        SUMX(
            'Bands',
            IF (
                NOT ( ISBLANK ( [Average of GlucoseReading] ) )
                    && [Average of GlucoseReading] >= MIN ( Bands[BandMin] )
                    && [Average of GlucoseReading] <= MIN ( Bands[BandMax] ),
                AVERAGE(Readings[GlucoseReading]),
                BLANK()
    ,AVERAGE(Readings[GlucoseReading])

    Sorry.  I did that because it looked a mess when I pasted it in.

                             barcoding.dbo.DeliveryWeeks AS D ON P.DeliveryWeek = D.DeliveryWeek INNER JOIN
                             dbo.TotalRequiredByItem AS T ON S.ItemNumber = T.ItemNumber
    The above works.  What I want to do next is after the Running_Sum to add another sub query similar to this:
    (SELECT        SUM(FP_Qty_Required) AS Expr2
                                   FROM            ???
                                   WHERE        (PD.ItemNumber = ItemNumber)
    AND (PD.DeliveryWeek >= DeliveryWeek)) AS Running_FullPallet
    FP_Qty_Required is a calculated field in the main query.

  • Calculating fields in C4C

    Hi Experts,
    I am looking into the Extension fields on an opportunity, and we would like to have the following on our opportunities.
    Project Probabilities: Shows the percentage that the project will start (Not that we will win it, but the possibility that this project will start)
    Expected Value 2: A value that is calculated on Project Probabilities * Weighted Value
    First obstetrical is that I cannot create a field that is marked as a percentage.
    Does anyone know, if it is possible (With application studio), to create a field similar to the standard Probability field?
    Next thing I did, was I tried to create a calculating field (Percentage Project Probability), that would take the number I typed into Project Probabilities and then divided with 100 (This should be a hidden field). I that way I would overcome the limitations with not being able to create a probability field similar to the standard probability field.
    Then I created another calculating field, multiplying my hidden field (Percentage Project Probability) with the Weighted Value. This was not possible, as the hidden field (Percentage Project Probability), was not shown when I choose to mark the field as calculating.
    Does anyone have an idea or hit how to fix this, or has ideas how to perform the calculation ( Project Probabilities * Weighted Value = Expected Value 2 )?
    Best Regards
    Anders

    In C4X there are only a few standard business object data types that are enabled, so "percentage" is not a standard data type. To see the complete list of support standard business object data types, look in the SDK help for "Custom Business Object" data types or enter adaptation for a UI and try to add an extension field. The "type" field that lists the various types data such as text, drop down list, email, integer, etc... are the supported data types.
    To achieve your specific use-case, I would suggest using either text or number data types extension fields, and then write some script for the business object that is triggered by the on save or before modify exits/BADIs to calculate the values.

  • Calculated fields don't update after changes are made

    Hi, I am having trouble with calculated fields updating.  Here is what I have:
    Field a + field b = calculated field c
    Field d + field e = calculated field f
    Then I have another calculated field (call it field g) to add up field c and f.  At first it works fine, but if you change what was input in a b d or e, it doesn't update the calculation in  field g.
    Thanks

    The field calculation order is probably not correct. How you set it depends on what version of Acrobat you're using:
    Acrobat 9: Forms > Add or Edit Fields, then: Forms > Edit Fields > Set Field Calculation Order
    Acrobat 10: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/pro/using/WS58a04a822e3e50102bd615109794195ff-7de2.w.h tml
    Set it to what makes sense for your form.

  • Statements in calculation fields

    Can you use sql statements in calculated fields, for instance can you use a statement like IF(GL_SEGMENT-04='401000'TO'409999'THEN SUM(GL_BALANCE_PERIOD_BAL_DB-GL_BALANCE_PERIOD_BAL_CR)
    I would think that you could use statements within calculated fields but I am having no luck.
    Thanks in advance

    You are so close, I guess. An alternative syntax you may try:
    SUM(CASE WHEN SEGMENT3 BETWEEN '401010' AND '405999' THEN PERIOD_NET_DR-PERIOD_NET_CR ELSE 0 END)
    You may get error message for not using table prefix. In that case, use the table prefix with each field. As you have seen, Discoverer takes care of the prefix when it first executes the formula. Regarding 0 balance, make sure that the sum is not zero for that range. You may also try with a bigger range. Good luck!

  • Trouble when attempting to Sum Calculated Field.

    I had to create a calculated field called RI_Limit which contains static data.  (Developers/DBA could not enter it into the database at this time, so this was a work around.
    The calculated field is setup as such:

    and I setup a textbox with that expression and the numbers fill in correctly with its cooresponding site name.
    However, when I go to sub total or total, I get a much larger number than expected. (See screenshot)

    Hi Katherine,
    Sorry for taking a few days to reply.
    I tried the suggestion, but it it still not summing my calculated fields.  The total row will calculate my other cells okay but not the calculated fields that I had to add to the report.  When I attempted to write an expression to sum the calculated

    I have two field in my data object receivedtime and endtime.Is there any way to get intermediate time in calculation field?

    I can think of implementing it like this:
    1. Create a calculated field c1 as endtime - receivedtime. This will give you c1 value as an integer which represents seconds.
    2. Create another calculated field c2 as DateAdd(receivedtime, 0, 0,0,0,0,c1/2,0). DateAdd is of this format: DateAdd(receivedtime, yy,mm,dd,hh,mm,ss,millisec)
    c2 should give you intermediate datetime value.

  • Creating and using a calculated field in business rule from the currency conversion of another field.

    Hello,
    I'm creating a calculated field with a set currency for a business rule. I'm planning to use it as a deficiency criteria. I want the values to come from the currency conversion of another field. Can someone provide me the step by step procedure on how to do it?
    Some documents would be great.
    I've been trying to do it on my own but I've gotten lost.
    Thank you.

    Thank you for all your help above.
    Just to confirm your advice, am I right with the following conclusions? :
    1. The script (function) to fill the text field with the modification date of a different PDF file needs to be stored in a folder level .js file.
    2. The document containing the text field needs to call the .js function either within the document script or within the custom script property of the text field itself.
    Further to that can you just advise on the syntax for accessing the modification date of the other document.
    Do I need to assign a variable to the address of the file to be used, and then use this variable in the text form filling script (as below) or can I use a direct file reference at the .modDate command.
    var LastSync = "C:\sync\bin\lastsync.pdf";
    var strMsg = util.printd("h:MM tt",LastSync.modDate) + " on ";
    strMsg += util.printd("dddd, d mmmm, yyyy",LastSync.modDate);
    this.getField("LastSyncDate").value = strMsg;
    If the syntax is totally different to the above I would be very grateful for some guidance in the right direction.
    I much appreciate your time to help me ... I'm almost there.

  • Copying a Calculated Field Value to another Field in the same List

    Hello! I have a calculated field that uses an if statement to determine a score. IE A field called Downtime Score contains this calculate:  IF Downtime Minutes =10, 100.  (not correct formatting, just basic to get point across)
    I simply want to use a workflow to copy the calculated value in Downtime Score (100) to another field called Final Downtime Score.
    In the workflow, I current have the following:  Set FinalDowntimeScore to CurrentItem:Downtime Score
    When I log both to workflow history, they both show 0 in history.  Nothing is copying.
    The calculated field is a number and I tried both number and text fields for FinalDowntimeScore.
    This is within SharePoint 2013 and using SharePoint Designer 2013.
    Any help would be appreciated!

    Ok, I did the same test as you and it failed.  I still return a 0 when I should see a 100.
    Not sure if this helps but when even though we are using sharepoint designer 2013, we only have "SharePoint 2010 Workflow" available in Platform type when creating workflows.
    Could you test again using SharePoint 2010 workflow as your platform type and see if you return the same results?
    Thanks!

  • What is better to use a calculation field or to use stored procedure

    Dear All
    i want to know what is better to use a calculation field on oracle forms , or to do the calculation using a stored procedure at the data base level and fetch the results to the fields on the form
    Best Regards

    Hello Mohannad
    the stored procedure approach might be more readable and maintainable when the calculation gets complicated.
    And it might be easier to reuse when it's needed in another part of your application.

  • SSRS Using WHERE in a calculated field

    Hi All,
    Im having a real issue with something that seems like it should be easier than it is.
    In my tablix I want to add the expression =Sum(Fields!ID20.Value)-Sum(Fields!ID20.Value) BUT I need to determine if another criteria is met.
    EG - I want =Sum(Fields!ID20.Value WHERE [InOut]="In")-Sum(Fields!ID20.Value WHERE [InOut]="Out")
    Many Thanks for any help

    Hi LB79,
    In Reporting Services, Aggregate functions cannot be used in calculated field expressions, since the data for calculated fields will be based on individual rows not on group basis. As a workaround, we can directly add the expression to a textbox of the tablix
    instead of using that calculated field. For detail information, please refer to the following steps:
    Right click the text box which you want to insert the calculated field, then click Expression.
    In the Expression text box, refer to the following expression:
    =sum(iif(Fields!InOut.Value ="In", Fields!ID20.Value,0),"DataSet_name")-sum(iif(Fields!InOut.Value ="Out", Fields!ID20.Value,0),"DataSet_name")
    If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Problem faced when using calculated field as filter

    Iam using an Oracle External Data Source.The external table contains a timestamp field and I add this to my data object.The year,month etc. functions work well on this field and results appear on list views.But when I try to generate a filter for this field and display the view I get errors.
    SQLSYNTAXERROREXCEPTION_REPORTSERVER_STREAMINGLIST_INITIALIZE
    Exception Message ORA-00904: "MONTH": invalid identifier
    So,I tried out with the call center data object found in bam samples.This had a datetime field.Filters on calculated fields work fine here.
    Is the former problem due to timestamp datatype or external datasource or anything else?
    Thanks,
    Raghuram

    Answer to following questions will help me narrow down the problem:
    1. Which version of BAM are you on - 10g or 11g?
    2. What condition are you using in filter i.e. "is equal to", "is less than equal to", "is like"...etc?
    3. In which format is the timestamp data being given in the filter? (by format, I mean mm-dd-yy HH:MM:SS etc)
    4. Can you give the exact datatype of the DB in which this timestamp data is stored?

  • Problems!:  calculated fields in Adobe Forms using the ISR/PCR framework.

    Hi there,
    I have made an Adobe form in the ISR framework. Everybody who is familiar with these forms in the framework knows that the adobe form is embedded in a standard webdynpro which consist of a roadmap with three steps.
    Step 1: Fill out the form
    Step 2: Check and fill the form
    Step 3: Submit the form. After submit the form can be send to a manager or can be directly processed in SAP HR.
    Problem 1:
    When I test the adobe form and fill in a number in a field and click on next everything goes fine. But when I click on previous step the value which I filled in before is gone and put to 0,00.
    Problem 2:
    Also another problem is that calculated fields, do not show directly when clicking on next step. When you click on next step and then previous step, then you see the value of the calculated field.
    Problem 3:
    Also another problem is with the calendar function. When I fill in a date by hand and click on next the BADI behind the form sees 00-00-0000. When I use the calendar function everything goes well.
    Who can help me with these 3 problems.
    Greetings.

    Hi Phil,
       Interesting - I have a similar issue.  We want to use the Request for Transfer scenario in ERP 2005, but it has not been developed in Adobe forms by SAP yet (it isn't available in 2004 either)!  So, we have decided to use the old JSP PCRs instead.
    Your issue is probably because you're using the same 2005 iviews to create your PCRs.  The 2005 PCR iviews are written in WebDynpro, and appear to assume that each one will be an Adobe form!  If you assign the old PCR iviews to your manager (give them the old MSS role under Migrated Content->EP5.0... in the pcd if you have it installed), you will be able to create a PCR with the JSP forms (regardless of the "Entry in Web" setting in QISRSCENARIO).
    The next issue is the approval.  In 2005, transaction SWFVISU has task TS50000075 configured as Java Webdynpro.  You'll need to change that to iView, and specify ID = com.sap.pct.hcm.isrdispatcher.default.  I'm following the UWL item type guide for this at:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/b1/cc1357eead454bb144face4a66be7d/content.htm
    Having said this, my approval is not working!  The item type has clearly changed, because the workitem name is no longer a hyperlink (rather annoying), but when I hit the "Launch Task Page" button (default name I think) I get the error:
    "Unable to perform action because the system returned an invalid URL"
    I can't see this "invalid url" anywhere in the logs, so I can't see where it is getting it from, or what path, etc I'm meant to put!  In your old system, what did you have as the "Server for ISR call" under "Additional Data for Scenario" in QISRSCENARIO?  Also, what did you have in the "URL" box that appears under the Additional Data for Scenario button when you change the Entry Type to JSP?
    Many thanks,
    Russell.
