Retreiving port information without request object

Hi,
I have a servlet coded and need to display the port number on which the server is running in the initialization of the servlet.
The problem is, when the servlet initializes, I don't have a HttpServletRequest object to get the port number. Is there a way by which the port number can be retreived during the init() of a servlet.
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Sumesh

Hi Murali,
Your answer is very close, but not complete.  I'm very familiar with the NAT Rule Order.  I didn't think that was the problem.  The actual problem is how Object NATs and Twice NATs are implemented.  I didn't realize once a Twice NAT (manual nat) is matched no other rules are checked. Here is the information at this Link under How source and destination NAT is implemented.  I was under the impression that Twice NAT were processed the same way Object NATs were.
So that was the problem, but what is the solution?  That is for Cisco to allow parameters in nat statements.  Otherwise we have to create 6 objects and two different nat statements in order to get this working.  If they would allow parameters for port numbers, we would only use 3 object (like i have) and two nat statements.  The other reason why Cisco needs to allow this, is because how ugly a "working" statement looks.
How to Port Forward to Hosts without a return route:
nat (outside, inside) source dynamic any NATTED_IP_OBJECT destination static interface SERVER1_OBJ service TCP_801_OBJ TCP_80_OBJ
Real.  Translated.
Confused?!?  You should be...  I know what i'm trying to do is a very rare objective.  That is get packets to a few hosts that do not have a return route (or default Gateway).  But I personally wrote this statement just 2 days ago and it still doesn't look right, but it works.  :) And works without translating all source IPs on traffic to hosts that do have a return route (aka NORMAL setup..  haha).
I hope someone finds this helpful.  About 40 mins to find a working statement.

  • Loading JSP Request Object on Application Init

    Background:
I've been searching for close to two days for an answer to this question, it's full of gotchas and I can't quite get it figured out.
I have an application which contains several web services. These services load up listeners when the services are invoked which makes them available for input. The user has the option of disabling automatic load of these services and invoking them manually by typing in the local url and starting the app. The can allow the autoload which uses a the or allowing the auto load to start. Currently the local url is hardcoded in a property file and this is how the services knows the local endpoint to envoke when it autostarts.
         <servlet id="AutoStart_01">
         <servlet-name>autoStart</servlet-name>
         <servlet-class>com.loadmy.StartupClass.Here</servlet-class>
              <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
         </servlet>
This works all fine and well until it's deployed onto a machine that runs a local weblogic cluster that has more than one jvm (and multiple ports) loading the application up.
    Problem
The question is, how can you get the applicaton to recoginize the local url for the jvm that is running which can be on different ports? Here's what I've tried
A - Using Inet.Address - This doesn't let you know what port your application is on
B - Using the load servlet on start up ( Only the init() function is called and the request object hasn't been created and the request object is what contains ther protocol, server and port information)
C - Loading a jsp page (READ... purposefully loading a jsp page) on application start. The thought here is that this contains a request object, but unfortunately on this doesn't work in my servlet container (currently tomcat 6 but the application is for a web logic machine)
D - I thought about possibly using System.properties() but no luck there
I'm at witts end on this one and I know there is something that can recoginze the local servlet container and extract the url and port from it.
    Any suggestions would be great.
    Flabergasted [sic]

When you request from jsp1 comes to jsp2, it gets the request object.
Now if you want to pass the same request object ot next jsp3, then please call the forward(request, response) as below:
    <jsp:forward page="jsp3.jsp">
//This will forward the same request, response object which is there in jsp2

  • [Solved] The requested object does not exist. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010114)

I have a 8 node cluster with Hyper-V, which will be 10 nodes when it's finally done.
Recently I've been try to add nodes and though that went fine, after about a week I could not open the Failover Cluster Manager anymore.
After some checking I found out that the latest added node was giving problems.
VM's on the node still run and function properly, but most Powershell commands result in a "The requested object does not exist. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010114)".
I can suspend the node with Suspend-ClusterNode, but draining roles was unsuccesful in one case.
In the other there were no VM's on the node so suspending went fine.
What I did find out was that when I tried to ping the node from another, proper functioning node, it took a while before the pinging started. It felt like the interface had to come back online on the problem node.
After that, I could add the cluster to the Failover Cluster Manager. However, Powershell commands still give a 0x80010114 error or a CIM error for when I use Get-NetAdapter.
A reboot resolves the problem, but only for about a week.
I know there is a topic with the same title already, but the wbemtest en rollup update "answer" is totally unclear to me why I should change something with wbemtest, or why to install updates that to me have nothing to do with this problem.
Before I did the ping test from a functioning node I pinged my DC and another node from the problem node just fine.
    No waiting at all.
The cluster has three networks. Management (host only), Live Migration and iSCSI (also a VMSwitch for certain VM's).
I have no idea where to look. Evenviewer doesn't give me anything I can work with that I can find...

  • Have a company based itunes account, trying to share itunes on bank owned devices. can't get all devices to keep our shared password on them without requesting user to enter password (which i am not giving them)

i am an IT manager for a bank.  we have several company owned iphones. WE have also implemented a mobile device management system to manage our iphones.
We setup acompany based itunes account, trying to share itunes on bank owned devices.  This way i can add bank approved apps to the devices through our itunes account and push out to the iphones, and no one can download any other non bank approved apps.
it has been working ok. but recently i had one user who came in.  He went to enter in his itunes account on the phone and didn't work. So then came back and my staff and myself have (as much as we can see) removed his email account itunes login from all sections in settings. and entered in our itunes account information, but when you go to the app store, and hit upgrade, it still shows his email account for itunes.  I feel like i can't get all devices to keep our shared password on them without requesting user to enter password (which i am not giving them)
How can i troubleshoot his device. i tried changing password 5 times today, rebooted device, and no change.
    Jenn McGlynn

i have an MDM application, and i push out the apps i want them to have with our IT apple id account. for some reason when two approved apps needed updating last week, they prompted him for our password. (which i told him to bring phone in and i would enter password).
but somehow he went to try to enter his personal to make it work (don't know why)
somewhere it's keeping his personal email. i went into itunes/apps and our apple id is in there.
there is nothing in icloud b/c we do not allow icloud, so that's clear.

  • Setting the header in http request object

I am facing a problem while trying to test a particular flow of my application. The details are given below:
The controller servlet of my main application reads the header "Referer" from the request object and then based on this it forwards the request to appropriate servlets. For testing my application I am writing a test servlet which receives a request object from a test jsp and sets all the necessary attributes in the request object and passes this request object to the doGet () method of the main application's controller servlet. But while trying with this I find that the main controller fails to forward to the correct servlet because it receives incorrect referer information. So my question is how can I set my customised "Referer" in the header of the http request so that the application's controller servlet forwards to the correct servlet? Is there any means to set the request header in servlet or jsp?

As far as I know you can't change the request in a servlet or .jsp, but you can in a Filter. Wrap the original request object in a wrapper class before passing it to chain.doFilter().

  • Passing host/port information into the Assembler API

I have a use case where the host and port for the Endeca engine is dynamic.  The application has integrated the Assembler API and we have overridden the UrlNavigationState class so that we can inject user segments, host/port, record filter, etc. onto the query.
The regular search controller uses HttpServletRequest to add attributes for these purposes that are then read by UrlNavigationState to use the setRecordFilter, etc..
We are now looking to update our type ahead service to use the Assembler API but the type ahead controller does not have access to the HttpServletRequest (the interceptors create a more simplistic, generalized request object).
Architecturally, using the HttpServletRequest in this fashion breaks general coding rules of abstraction and the mutation of the request object so we want to move away from this anyway.
So, our ideal situation is to *not* use HttpServletRequest but some other request scoped object that UrlNavigationState has access to.  So, the question - how have others resolved this problem?

What is your OS ? Does the server run on the same box ?
Did you configure the files as well :
    %PS_HOME%\PSEMViewer\envmetadata\config
    %PS_HOME%\PSEMAgent\envmetadata\config
    especially the parameters
    hubURL
    agentport
    windowsdrivestocrawl
And also the file in your webserver directory path :
    %PS_HOME%\webserv\peoplesoft\applications\peoplesoft\PSEMHUB\envmetadata\config
(the folder in italic may differ on your side).
Please, if you can, paste here the files content.

link (which is on a 404 site. Why?
Have anyone an idea which registry key is responsible for that?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
As far as I know if we get the error message:" Unable to open <url>. Cannot download the information you requested", the Office programs will attempt to access the link first before forwarding the URL to your browser to load the web page.
If there is an error returned from the website for that URL, Word or Excel will refuse to load it.
Did you try to test and use the available hyperlink (Such as:
www.technet.com/en-us) in both of the two machines?
If it still can not open the URL, please try to follow the below KB to check the registry key :
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/218153/en-us
For more detail information, please refer to the following link:
    http://hampelgroup.com/unable-to-open-url-cannot-download-the-information-you-requested-error-in-wordexcel/
Please Note: Since the web site is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information.
Some of our customers solve the issue by update party software (such as LaserFiche) . Just check if it helps you.

  • The requested object is locked by another transaction

    Hi All,
I got a problem while loading data from an ODS to another ODS, it shows 450 records but request is red, it says
'The requested object is locked by another transaction'
    Message no. MC602
    Diagnosis
A lock requested by calling an ENQUEUE function module cannot be provided because the object in question has already been locked by its own transaction.
Technical Information: The C_ENQUEUE routine returns the following values:
    COLLISION_OBJECT = ERSMONFACT
    COLLISION_UNAME = SINGH
    System response
The ENQUEUE function module triggers an appropriate exception. If this exception was not intercepted by the application program, it leads automatically to the active SAP transaction being cancelled.
    Procedure
Once the ENQUEUE function module is called, the application program should intercept this exception and react to it appropriately.
I tried SM12 but there is no lock entry, can u suggest some thing?
    Regards,

    Hello,
here your dso seems to be lock as some read and write opertaion is happening at the time u r running the dtp.
Here two things to look :
1.Check the error that ur getting while running a dtp the process monitor etc try to find the request id which has locked the dso . Copy that request id go to t-code RSRQ see whats this request who is user, target etc..contact user for cancelling the job if it has been stuck for long long time. Copy the JOB ID from  RSRQ for that rquest go to SM37 give the date as there in RSRQ and kill the job
2.GO to SM12 try to search the object there and remove the lock.
    Thanks,
    Deepak

  • Using request object in java web service code

    Hi,
I am working on a java web service and require the request object in my code.
This is because i want to get the name of the user who is using this web service.
I am getting error in the line
    IPortalComponentRequest request = (IPortalComponentRequest) this.getRequest();
Please guide me how to use the request object.
Please also suggest if there is any other way to get the name of the user who is using the web service.

Simple answer: This is not possible due a web service doesn't has such request objects.
If you want to use the user information you have to pass it from the programm logic you are calling the web service. When you have e.g. a JSPDynPage you can read out the user information and supply this information for your web service.
