Retrieve weblocation link of a content item

how do we retrieve weblocation link of a content item via RIDC / web service?
Is there any configuration settings to be done/ enforced when accessing the doc directly via weblocation link.
thanks

Hi ,
Use DOC_INFO service call and then from the LocalData section use "DocUrl" to retrieve web location link .
For details check the service reference guide : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e11011/c04_core.htm#BABBCIEB

  • Content Item Typ: Tree Navigation Link

    Hi,
    I was told that there is one Tree Navigation Link in the content item types. However I can't see it in the page group configuration.
    I am using oracle 9iAS 9.0.2, portal 9.0.2??, JPDK v2 July one.
    By the way, how can I know the portal version? I didn't do the installation. Everything comes with the oracle 9iAS installation. I did upgrade the JPDK.

    There is currently no item type that does a tree-style navigation.
    A new tree-style navigation portlet is coming soon from the Portal Integration Solutions team.
    There are also a couple of navigation portlets available from the Knowledge Exchange. I've tried this one and it works great.
    There are also some great navigation and search extensions available from Oracle Consulting.
    To find the Portal version number, look on the Builder Page, Admin tab, General Settings. Scroll to the bottom of the page.

  • Retrieve the newest content items

    Hi
    I am planning to generate a DHTML component which retrieve the
    list of content items which has been added since a specific date
    (1 day, week, month) to the content area and in the same time it
    has been approved on to be published for public users.
    In order to know, if this content item should be published to
    public users or not , we were thinking to add in the secondary
    tab of the item attributes at the Basic Search keyword LEVEL a
    predefined word such as (important, high priority) Which I will
    use it as a criteria of selection .
    My question is as follows :
    Could you please advise about the name of tables to be accessed
    in the portal30 schemas in order to find out :
    1 - The list of the newest added content items.
    2 - The field which contains the basic search keyword.
    3 - The syntax of the SQL statement to be composed in order to
    retrieve the above result set.
    thanks.

  • Link to Document Content Type issue - links not relative

    I'm using the Link to Document content type in a library in order to link to documents in other libraries.  We just migrated to 2010 from WSS 3.0 (2007) and are having an issue.  We view our site internally thorough the internal machine address/name
    and also have users connecting remotely from an external url.  In 2007, it didn't matter whether we were internal or external, all links were apparently stored as relative because the "link to document" items worked fine either way.  This
    was despite entering the url fully and not relative.  When viewing/editing the properties of that item, it shows you the full url applicable to where you are viewing it...internal if internal, external if external.
    However, after the migration to 2010, all links that existed previously are fine, but any new items created using link to document apparently no longer store them as relative so either the internal or external users get the wrong link.  For example,
    if I put in the link as http://servername/library/doc the external users get that same link and it doesn't work, since it should be like https://myurl/library/doc.  Viewing/editing the properties of the item shows an absolute url of whatever location
    the item was added.  For instance if I'm connected externally and add an item, even if i only enter it as relative, it creates the link as https://myurl/library/doc and then the internal users end up having to connect via that url and that is just a pain
    due to AD and certificate issues.  The internally created links are obviously not accessible at all from the outside.
    I've also tried storing the link as relative when creating the item but it seems to overwrite it with the absolute link.
    This is causing quite an issue with us.  Does anyone have any insight as to what is going on and how to fix it?
    thanks!

    Hmm...I thought I had the thread set to email me if there were replies and I never received an email so I thought there were no replies.  I came back to this since another issue cropped up that is related and there were replies!
    I cannot recall how things were set up exactly in 2007 and there's no way to look back now.  I'm a novice when it comes to AAM/DNS/IIS really.  Maybe you can suggest what it should look like?
    We have our site which is accessed internally by http://machinename .  Externally, we use https://sharepoint.mydomain.com .
    In AAM we have http://machinename listed in the default zone with the same url for internal and public.  We also have https://sharepoint.mydomain.com listed, in the internet zone and it also has the same url for both internal and public.
    In IIS, the sharepoint site has bindings for port 80 and 443, but nothing specific to https://sharepoint.mydomain.com
    DNS....I'm not sure what should be here, if anything.
    We can access the site just fine externally, there are just a few instances where some links do not work correctly and point to the internal url instead of external when you are external.  The original post is one time and the other, found the other
    day, is a search box webpart that points to a relative url for the results page but externally it ends up going to the internal url.
    I'd appreciate any guidance.  Thanks!

  • Content Items Sorting based on picklist property fails

    Content Server 6.0
    We have developed a custom presentation template to display a list of all the work items. While displaying the work items, I would like to sort them based on a property and then filter them based on another property. I have a template code similar to below:
    <pcs:foreach var="item" expr="filter(sort(sort(index.folder, 'item.pcs_id', true), 'item.application', true), '(filtered.workflow_status != "Completed")')">
    The content item has two properties: application - a picklist, and workflow_status - a picklist.
    The above code template does not return any results. However if I change the expression so that I am sorting by a text property, then it displays the results correctly.
    For e.g,
    <pcs:foreach var="item" expr="filter(sort(sort(index.folder, 'item.pcs_id', true), 'item.name', true), '(filtered.workflow_status != "Completed")')">
    (name is a text property of the content item).
    Is there another way of accesing a picklist property in sort function to retrieve the desired results? Can somebody point out what am I doing wrong?
    Thanks for your help in advance.
    Thanks

    Not currently. We're considering this for a future release.

  • Change Portlet Content item in 9.0.2.

    Hi
    If I add a few images to a page, and I go to the categorie page where these images are stored, I can't see these images.
    Instead I see a lot of information about these images (create date, page group,...)which i don't want to see.
    On this categorie page all the items are stored in a "portlet content" item.
    Is there a way to change the settings of this "portlet content" item?
    greetings

    Hi
    The changing of relative to absolute is the one that bothers me. I think it also added line breaks, which caused problems with gaps appearing between images.
    The other one I remember is adding <tbody> tags to a table.
    I would prefer it if one could prevent the editor from making any changes in the HTML whatsoever. As an option maybe.
    Is it possible to create a simple HTML item as a shared component that one could drop into any page?
    Regards
    Harry
    What changes are you seeing?
    I know that the editor converts relative links to absolute links (a bug has been logged for this and the issue is mentioned in the release notes).

  • How to know precisely when the revision of a content item is released?

    Hi,
    I have written a filter to handle delete event of content item revisions. Whenever a revision of a data file (WCM data file) is deleted my filter gets triggered and and checks for some criteria on our meta data. When the criteria is met it has to compare the contents of the revision that is deleted with the new revision. Since the revision will be deleted when my filter is exited, I copied the contents of the revision that is deleted and invoked a java thread with required document information.
    In that thread I am checking for when the revision is successfully deleted so that I can read the contents of new revision and compare them with old revision.
    For that I calling DOC_INFO_BY_NAME service from my thread and am checking until the following values for below meta data are in effect
    dStatus=RELEASED
    dReleaseState=Y
    Unfortunately this is not working properly. I am still seeing the data file content of deleted revision only. For testing purpose I put a sleep of 10 seconds in my code instead of reading the meta data values which is making the code work as expected. I am to get the contents on new revisions after the sleep time. But I don't want to work this way as this is not a guaranteed mechanism.
    How to know for sure when the revision is released?

    Hope as you mentioned I would be able to use link manager. That would make my work much simpler. But just want to ensure that we both are on the same page relating to my requirements. I still feel there is some gap in what I have tried to explain and what you understood. May be I couldn't put it in simple words.
    I will try my best to explain the requirements again in a simpler manner. This is only to ensure that I wouldn't end up spending lot of time in understanding new stuff but only to relaize at later time it may not work for me. I haven't used Link Manager before. That is why I am speculating a bit. I will start looking into the documentation of the Link Manager and Related Content to checkout if they work for me.
    First thing is that the links are not just present in static lists. They can also be in content generated using WYSIWYG editors and Image elements.
    Second when I talked about HTMLs they are not true content items. We are generating these HTMLs based on the structure of the site studio data file that is checked-in. I think it would be more clear if I add more details here.
    The data files that I have been referring so far are bit complex. Our site studio contibution site allows creation of parent content items like detailed page, news articles etc and child items like RelatedSections, FAQ Items etc. The child items are referenced in the parent content items for organizing the parent content item's structure. All these site studio content items are XML files and each of them can internally contain links to other items. In fact the child items can have references to parents items or other childd items as static list (with link selector elements) and WYSIWYG editors are used while creating these content types (parent and child items).
    Finally we generate the HTML only for parent items and display them on our portal. Child references are used only for defining parent item structure and the generated HTML for the parent item contains the details of child items. Our differentiation of parent and child is in the context. HTMLs that I have been talking so far are these ones only. They are not real content items.
    The HTML will be generated when ever the parent item is updated and approved in the last step in our workflow. Now since parent item's HTML is dependent on child items, whenever a child item is updated and approved in the last step of workflow we should look up for all the parent items that are referring to this child and regenerate the HTML for those parent items using updated contents of this child.
    Similar logic of HTML regeneration should be applied in the delete events.
    Finally the revision related issues that I listed for data files apply for images as well. Since the images are also managed content items with multiple revisions they are maintained in site studio content items with their dDocName instead of its file file path and extension. Lets say an image is being referred in one of the parent content items and the image extension at the time it was initially used in the parent item is gif. The HTML contents for this parent that get generated will have gif extension for this image item. Now after some time if the user checks-in a new revision for this image item and lets say the extension now is png. But the HTML generated for the parent item is still having .gif in the img src attribute. Which means we need to re-generate the HTML in this case by checking where all this image item is referred.
    If link manager can be helpful in meeting the above requirements it would be great. It shouldn't matter if there is bit of customization work involved.

    Pratap

  • Display content items into custom remote portlets

    Hi, I need to dinamically display content server items in a custom portlet, using the EDK, but I did not find any way to get this result. Is it poossible to get an object (in my case a published content item) within an ObjectManager and display it's content (in our case a simple HTML content).
    I need to do this because whe have to format the home page of the portal in order to display the first half in three columns and the second half in two columns and we are trying to do this implementing a custom portlet (in the content canvas area) containing a three columns table displaying each a different content item.
    Thank you.

    There are basically two ways that I have done to open the content item editor.1) From a content presentation template you would call a JavaScript function like:
    <script>
    function edit_article$$TOKEN$$() {
    var width = 700;
    var height = 527;
    var left;
    var top;
    left = window.screenLeft + 10;
    top = window.screenTop - 30;
    if ( (left + width/2) > screen.availWidth ||
    (top + width/2) > screen.availHeight ) {
    left = 0;
    top = 0;
    var params = "height=" + height + ",width=" + width + ",left=" + left + ",top=" + top + ",screenX=" + left + ",screenY=" + top + "toolbar=0,location=0,directories=0,status=1,menubar=0,scrollbars=1,resizable=1";
    window.open("<pcs:value expr='pcs_location'></pcs:value>/published_tools/content_item.jsp?ciid=<pcs:value expr='pcs_id'></pcs:value>&title=ContentItemEditArticleTitle", '', params);
    </script>
    2) The other way is using the content Item API. You get the editor url from the content item, which you already have. Now what you are doing below is almost correct. The importance of the pt:objectid is crucial. Take a look at the web docs on Plumtree ([url[/url]http://www.plumtree.com/edoc/Enterprise_Web_Development_Documentation.htm) under portlets/adaptive portlets/transformer tags/links. So the reason yours is not working is that you are missing some ptargs. The pt:objectid needs to be the objected of the "Content Administrator" portlet. This is for 2 reasons. One is so that you get the correct PTargs and the second is that it will use the basic auth information stored in its web service. So if your objectid of the portlet was 201 then it would look like this:
    lblHref.Text = "<pt:gatewayLink xmlns:pt='http://www.plumtree.com/xmlschemas/ptui/'pt:ObjectID='201' pt:href=\""+ url + "\" target='TinyURL' onclick=window.top.open('','TinyURL'," + WindowOpenParams + ");>"+myContentItem.Name + "</pt:gatewayLink>";

  • Content Presenter In-Line Editing Against Many UCM Content Items

    I have a question regarding the Content Presenter task flow with In-Line editing that is part of Webcenter. I understand that I can drag and drop a UCM content item and a content presenter task flow to a page in JDEV. This enables me to display a single content item and perform inline editing by pressing "ctrl-shift-c".
    What I am trying to accomplish is generating a RIDC UCM query to return results to a page. Once I have these results ordered by metadata filters I would like to be able to perform in-line editing on these content items. Is there a way to configure the Webcenter inline editing to work with these RIDC query results.
    I realize I could, instead of using RIDC drop many content presenters on the page but that is not as dynamic as retrieving this search results from UCM.
    Is there a way to accomplish this with the webcenter in-line editing or do you have to use Site Studio to gain this functionality.
    Thanks in advance for your help! Is there another way to accomplish what I am trying to do?

    It is possible.
    You just need to pass the id of the document to your content presenter.
    I made a blog post that might help you: http://www.yonaweb.be/creating_image_gallery_using_navigation_model_and_content_presenter_0
    This shows you how you can dynamicly set the content of the content presenter. In this post, i don't edit the document but that's not a problem. It will show you how to dynamicly update the content presenter with the correct document.

  • HTML Code for Smart Link Edit and Logout items

    I am using an HTML template and would like to include the Smart Link Edit and Logout items in a TABLE. How do I do this?
    Is there a way to get the code for these Smart Links (ORACLE tags) and include them?

    According to Oracle Metalink "Note:368720.1 - When ILS is Enabled the Edit Smartlink is visible to Users that are not entitled to see it", that is the expected behavior whether you are using the "edit" substitution tags or the "edit" smartlink on a page when the page has item-level access enabled. I don't like it but I can understand why that is the behavior since an end user may have access to manage/edit just one item on a page or just one tabbed region on a page and they need a way to put the page into edit mode in order to edit their item(s). If a user has nothing to edit on a page, then they won't be able to do anything in edit mode anyway.
    On the employee portal I work on, there is the possibility that every page may have a different set of users/groups that need to edit items/regions on the page AND the edit smartlink is published on the portal page template so basically, all employees can see the Edit link but if they click on it, only those employees that have items/regions to edit/manage will be able to really do anything while in edit mode.
    However, on the customer portal I work on, there is only one group that manages content site-wide so I was able to publish the Edit smartlink on the portal page template and change its access to the one group that manages content so they're the only ones that can see the Edit link on every page.
    The substitution tags for Logout are #PORTAL.LOGOUT.URL# and #PORTAL.LOGOUT.LABEL# (I use those so I can control the html & css) or just #PORTAL.LOGOUT# (which does both the label and url). The list of all substitution tags is available in Oracle Application Server Portal Help.

  • Displaying content item -(IContentItem) in portlet using Content Server API

    Hi,
    I am using the latest Content server API in my remote server to get the published content items. I have to display the content item in the JSP portlet.
    So how to display the content item in the portlet, if you have the IContentItem Object retrieved from the content server ? Is there any mechanism to get the HTML code/JSP code that corresponds to the IContentItem object?(All the content item will be an html or jsp )
    Currently we are extracting the publish url and opening an http connection to retrieve the html, which is not a good solution if you have mutiple portlets in the same page. So please suggest how can I display the content item (IContentItem Object) in the portlet.?

  • Max number of content items in one folder

    Hi,
    What would be the max limit content item dumped in one folder???
    Thanks

    Take a look, for instance, at this link: http://hishamgalal.blogspot.com/2012/01/increase-maximum-number-of-folders-and.html
    There is no factual limit. Only, when there are too many items in one folder, the system does not perform well. Therefore, you may adjust the maximum number of allowed items by two parameters mentioned on the linked page.

  • Customized content item / type

    Hi there,
    I would like to know what is the best way to store a content
    item in my project.
    I'm working on a portal which need to group the course
    information into categories. Each course should be a content
    item in this case. Each course has its own course
    information. What is the best way to store each course as
    content item which allow publisher to update the course info and
    can make use of the category feature from the Portal ?
    In 9iPortal, it allows us to store it as file, folder, text,
    PL/SQL, image etc. I believe it's not a good idea and doesn't
    fit my purpose. All these are static objects.
    Can I make use of the custom type ? If so, how can I generate
    page with the info stored in the attributes of the custom type ?
    Say, I have created a new custom type named course and then it
    has attributes like course title, course dates etc.
    I would like to allow my user to type in the course information
    and then we can generate dynamic pages from the information.
    I'd used other Portal product which allow developer to define the
    content type attribute easily and provide API to retrieve
    the content and category item. Then we can write jsp to retrieve
    the item. But I can't find the same thing from Oracle9iAS
    Portal.
    Can someone give me some clue ?
    Thanx
    Regards,
    Maggie

    Custom item types are a good solution.
    Custom types allow you to call procedures (either a stored
    procedure or a servlet via a URL) - the procedure can in turn
    generate a custom presentation for your item. Procedures can be
    passed any of the attributes of your item, including custom
    attributes.
    Folder styles can also be used to specify which attributes are
    displayed for an item.
    So try the style first. If you don't like what you are able to
    achieve with the style, use a procedure to render your custom
    item type any way you want.

    Jerry

  • Has anyone implement paging / page breaks in long content items?

    Has anyone implement paging / page breaks in long content items? Eg when a text item is long it would be nice if there was a portlet or something to be able to separate it in pages that fit in the users screen and display a message in the bottom like "page 1 of 3" etc with next and previous links.
    Any ideas?

    Oracle has a pretty good Oracle By Example on OTN covering this at [http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1014portal/html_templates/html_templat.htm]. I'd also recommend following on with the one on Item Placeholders to complete the picture [http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1014portal/item_placeholders/itmplacehold.htm].
    My announcements are text items in one region. The region has a HTML content layout that uses pl/sql to determine where the first space is after 650 characters and if it is larger than 650 characters opens the item in a page using the item placeholder (hence my suggestion above). The code to generate this looks like this on the template. v_length is declared at the top of the tempalte so it is easy to change the length of the announcements:
          IF LENGTH ('#ITEM.CONTENT#') > v_length THEN
          v_space := INSTR('#ITEM.CONTENT#',' ',v_length,1); /*Find first space after designated length*/
             HTP.p('
      <table width="100%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="0" border="0">
        <tr>
          <td>#ITEM.IMAGE#</td><td valign="top">' || SUBSTR ('#ITEM.CONTENT#', 1, v_space) || '</td>
        </tr>
        <tr>
          <td align="right" colspan="2"> &lt;MORE...</td>
        </tr>
      </table>'
          ELSE
             HTP.p ('
       <table width="100%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="0" border="0">
        <tr>
          <td>#ITEM.IMAGE#</td><td valign="top">#ITEM.CONTENT#</td>
        </tr>
      </table>'
          END IF;Check out the OBE's and post back with any questions. They can sometime be challenging to get to work just right, but you can do a lot with these templates.
