Retrieving hidden variable value

Hi,
Iam developing a web application in servlets ,which contains a textarea in the form.
When form is submitted the textarea value gets inserted to database.
In the form there is a provision to view and edit the already entered text and then save.
But the problem is iam not able to retrieve the value of textarea completly(During Edit save option)
Only the first word in textarea is obtained.
for eg :
textarea name=text
value ="this is a hidden variable"
when i retrieve text in next form using getParameter iam able to get only "this"
ie first word in the line.

Customer Exit (i_step = 1) - Retrieve Variable Value

Hello,
I have BW web report and created customer exit (i_step = 1). The BW Web Report is being called from BSP application and I'm passing variable value on URL.
For example:
/sap/bw/BEx?cmd=ldoc&template_id=Z_JEFF_CLAIM_TEST&VAR_NAME_1=ZAGGET&VAR_VALUE_EXT_1=10310
What I need to do now is retrieve the variable value passed on URL in the custom exit i_step = 1.
Does anyone know how to do this?

    .... = LOC_VAR_RANGE-LOW.

Not able to retrieve netui hidden field values in java script

I have problem in retrieving hidden field values in javascript
I have declared hidden field as below,
<netui:hidden dataSource="actionForm.selectedColumns" tagId="hiddenSelectedfield"></netui:hidden>
and retrieving with tagId in javascript as below,
obj1 = document.getElementById(tagId).style;
its not getting value with tagId defined in netui tag.
Any suggestion...

I'm a new bee to this adobe forms and VBS.Could you explain more on that Fdf file or Can you send some documentation where i can go through of.
Even i'm very much happy to share the pdf file..the problem is it is binded with the SAP browser.So i cant make a copy to my local system,But i can explain all the technical stuffs inside the form.
The form is developed using adobe lifecycle designer,i can see the fields are defined in the design view.
The fields which i'm accessing to enter the values are visible & Set user defined values..
when you access through the SAP portal,it opens up inside the browser ..so every field you choose or select additional fields get added based on the selection..
The "GetField" code you have shared works perfectly fine..i could read all data,or i could select a particular field to retrieve the field.
But the "SetField" code you have shared locating the field but it is not writing the value into the field.I called a setfocus method on the particular field as well..then put f.value = fieldvalue still it chooses the particular field but didnt feed the value...
is it possible to call a keystroke to the particular field?
if you have any ideas please throw it up on me..i'll try all my possibilities.

Retrieve variable value from local Storage and display on canvas

I'm working on a project that has multiple html files (the projects are split into 12 so 12 different edge projects and im linking them via window.open()). I have a variable that keeps track of correct answers stored in LocalStorage html object. I have managed to get the localStorage variable to increment up by one each time the object is correct however my last step is to get the variable and them display the result on the canvas. I have tried
var outPut localStorage.getItem(' ') method to retrieve the variable then used the set and get method to display the result however it doesn't work. Im not sure if I need a for loop to go though the localStorage and get the elements

The above is the code for the 12th project in this projects it needs to display the variable inside the object localStorage and display on the canvas.

P.S edge animate has a lot of bugs hard to code in

what you need to do is to create a text box and set a default value of zero. Once that is don't you need a code on the stage which grabs the value form the localStorage object. I used the .text() jquery method to display the value on the canvas. So the zero will be replaced with whatever the value of the localStorage is.
You also need a if statement to check if the localStorage is undefined, if its not then grab the value and display on the canvas.
e.g

Retrieve OS Environment variable values

Dear All,
In all Operating System we can set the system environment variables in either Batch file(Windows) or script files (Unix Based operating system). Is there any way to retrive the variable values declared in the batch file or script file in throu java application without specifying -D param in java command

Personally, I use a little dirty trick to get the environment settings on Windows.
I have a batch file doing "set > output.txt". Then I call this batch file with Runtime.exec() and I parse the resulting output.txt file.
Not clean at all, but it works ;-)

Getting JS variable value in ABAP variable

hi experts,
I am fairly new to ABAP programming so please bear with me. To my issue.
I am creating a BSP which will read from the tax number table in CRM into an itab.
Next it loops into an wa and then passes each tax number through a javascript/JQuery API to validate the number.
The JSON response then comes back and is stored in a JS variable.
I am unclear how to get this into an ABAP variable so I can handle as needed. I have read some posts but they seem to be created for those ABAP experts which I am not there yet.
Any help is most appreciated.

I am still stuck where I try to create the hidden field, assign the JS variable value to it and then retrieve on server side using ABAP.
I read some places where it mentions accessing in the controller but this is not specific enough for me to know what to do. Here is a snippet of my JS/html code.

I am using a Jquery api to get a boolean value and storing it in the json variable. then I want to pass that value to an ABAP variable. I did maintain a page attribute of json type STRING as well. I also tried maintaining a controller class attribute of the same. I did not redefine any controller class methods.

How to use bind variable value of one VO as initial value for other VO row?

I have two View Objects: one read only with several bound variables and another editable entity based. Correspondingly there are two ADF Faces pages: first contains search form based on the read-only VO and second create form based on the editable VO. The search form has several hidden fields for some of bound variables because they aren't edited directly by user. These fields are updated with PPR when user selects other search criteria from LOV.
There is a command button in the first page that navigates to the second form. Is there any way to transfer values of bound variables from the first VO to the second VO as initial values of the new row?
I tried to set custom controller for the second page and retrieve search criteria values from request parameter map but values from hidden fields are missing. I think because that these fields are updated by PPR. Of course I can add custom action method to the navigation button and in the method put these values to request parameter map but I hope there is better solution.

To summarize, given a bind variable value for one VO, on creating a row in a second VO, for 1 of the attributes of the second VO, you want to use the first VO's bind variable value. Correct?
A potential solution ADF BC driven:
1) Ensure you have an AppModuleImpl for your AM
2) Ensure you have a ViewImpl for your 1st VO (where the bind variable will exist) - lets refer to that VO as "Alpha"
3) Ensure you have a ViewRowImpl for your 2nd VO (the one you want to default the value in) - lets refer to that VO as "Beta"
4) For your first VO "Alpha" create the bind variable (say pValue)
5) In your second VO "Beta" ViewRomImpl add following code:

AppModuleImpl am = (AppModuleImpl)this.getApplicationModule();

when the user check the check box i want to add all the values in the empName, click the Next page, Again we show some check box i want to add some more names to the hidden value
When the user click back i want to show which chekboxes user selected.

Assigning a Jython variable value to an ODI variable

I have to implement database cursor functionality in ODI.
For storing the returned values from database, I am using a Jython list.
The next functionality that I have to implement is as follows:
(i) For each value in the Jython list, I have to pass that value as a variable to an interface and then execute the interface
(ii) Return back to the Jython list to get the next value in it
(iii) Execute the interface for the new value from Jython list
(iv) Have to execute the interface for as many values as in the list and stop when list is over.

I tried your method of using source as a query in procedure and using ODI startScen in the Target of the same procedure. But the scenario runs only once, and then stops even though the Source query returns 4 rows.
Do we have to write Source and Target in separate steps of the procedure?
Does ODI store the many records returned into some internal variables?
I need to implement a cursor functionality so what is the best approach?
Can i pass array variable value to some odi variables and do a loop?
I used a workaround....it works but dont know if that's a good way of doing things:
I retrieved all the different values that I need in a string by appending the values(this was done using Java loop).
In my next step in the procedure I call a scenario(package which has some variables and my interface), which passes this long variable from Java as <@...@>
Then in the package I use an iteration variable which is used to find out the SubString position so that I can extract the correct string to use for my Interface in the next step of the Package.
It is working fine as of now.....but things could be made simpler if I could call the scenario in the Java loop, then I wouldn't need the iteration variable etc.

Retrieving old column values from a after delete trigger dynamically

I have a single audit table for deletions
and the table structure has the following columns
1: table_name
2: column_name
3: column_value
I am writing a trigger on tables for which i want to have delete audits and i am dynamicaly
retrieving the column names but i am unable to retrieve the column value dynamically;
I tried to use the following statement but doesn't return the column value

where v_col_name is the name of the column which i retrieve dynamically using the
dbms_sql.describe_columns procedure.

I don't know if Kevin's tip Help Mr. Sameer, but it did help me gain access to pre-deleted row column values.
I did discover, however, that if the columns from the about-to-be-deleted row are used as inserts into another table, Oracle serves up a nasty-gram informing the user that values from the about-to-be-deleted table are unreliable.
I was able to circumvent this constraint by assigning the about-to-be-deleted column values to local PL/SQL varables, then perform the insert using the variable values.

How can I pass a variable value from first jsp page to thired jsp page

In my program ,threr are three jsp pages . I want the first pages's variable value in to thired page .How can I acess.
I used the request.getparameter() ,but when I print the value , null value is getting .

request parameters only last for one request.
To save them longer than that you need to save them somewhere.
Couple of alternatives
1 - store them to session
session.setAttribute("username", request.getParameter("username");
2 - create a hidden field on page 2 and store the value from page 1 there. When you submit page2, you can get it on page3 with request.getParameter again.

How to get-set Hidden field value from JSP ?

I am quite newbie about jsp and looking for some help..
I have several url links on my jsp page.
I when I click one of them, I want to reload my page with new request parameter(s) but also keep the older one(s) in hidden field(s)...
but I dont know how to set and get hidden field value "syntax" and I am not sure about where/when should I do this... at first I though that I can do it in "onClick" property of url..

I have a problem just like that. I am trying to send the value of an subdomain is to another page to be able to modify an entry.
So in listsubdomains.jsp I have
<input type = "hidden" name = "subdomainid" value="<%=subdomains.SubdomainID%>"><%=subdomains[i].SubdomainID%>.
This shouls send the id of the subdomain.
I an sending this to modifysubdomain.jsp with <form name = "listsubdomains" method = "post" action = "modifysubdomain.jsp">
and there I retrieve the value like this:

out.println(request.getParameter("subdomainid"));
My problem is that no matter what is the value I chose to modify it always sends the first value. If I another value manually it works, but just then.
Please give me some ideas.

Retrieve xml attribute value of nth xml node using xpath query

I have an xml with following stucture...

I have to loop through this xml and retrieve the orderId values inside Biztalk orchestration.
In the expression shape, I get the count of 'DocumentReference' nodes using an xpath query and then
Added a loopshape to make sure it loops thru all nodes
Loop condition:   n<=nodeCount     (where n is an integer variable, n=0 to begin with, incremented by 1 thru each loop, nodeCount is # of DocumentReference nodes)
I try retrieve to the orderId in the following expression shape using the below xpath query
xpathQuery = System.String.Format("//*[local-name()='OrderReference'][{0}]/@orderID)",n);
sOrderId = xpath(MsgSingleInvoice,xpathQuery);
And I get the following exception:
Inner exception: '//*[local-name()='OrderReference'][1]/@orderID)' has an invalid token.
Exception type: XPathException

And I see a different error:
Inner exception: Specified cast is not valid. Exception type: InvalidCastException
Source: Microsoft.XLANGs.Engine
Target Site: System.Object XPathLoad(Microsoft.XLANGs.Core.Part, System.String, System.Type)
Since variable 'n' is of integer type, I suspected it and changed it to n.ToString() and tested again and still see the same error.

Using variable values form parametrized URL in Customer Exit in i_step = 1

Hello BW experts,
I call a parametrized URL to a Web Template that has a Query with the variable VAR1:
http://XXX?...&CMD=LDOC&template_id=TEMP1&VAR_NAME_1=VAR1&VAR_VALUE_EXT_1=2006
Then I try to access the value of VAR1 in i_step = 1 in the Customer Exit for BEx variables in order to determine the value for a customer exit variable VAR2:
WHEN 'VAR2'.
    IF i_step = 1.
      READ TABLE i_t_var_range INTO var_range
        WITH KEY vnam = 'VAR1'.
      fl_var_range-sign = 'I'.
      fl_var_range-opt = 'EQ'.
      fl_var_range-low = *some operation with var_range
      APPEND fl_var_range TO e_t_range.
    ENDIF.
The problem is that VAR1 contains either the default values (if the variable is set to have default variables) or is empty (if there are no default variables defined). It does not retrieve the value in the URL in the Customer Exit, but displays it correctly in the variable screen.
Is there any way I can acces the URL parameter in the Customer Exit?

thanks for your answer. The problem was, though, that the first value determines the behavior of the variable screen by setting the value of a customer exit variable.
My goal was to have two variable screens. In the first a date is chosen and in the second a node of a time-dependant hierarchy is chosen. If one enters the date in the same screen as the hierarchy, the valid hierarchy for the date is not displayed.
I solved the problem now in following way:
<b>1. Saving the value in SAP Memory as a parameter.</b> The parameter has to be defined in SE80. A Dummy Web Template with a query on the same Infoprovider with just the two InfoObjects (Year/Month) displays a variable screen for Month/Year. In addition there is a Dummy Customer Exit variable that is needed in order to pass the variable values (month/year) into SAP Memory. Using JavaScript in the Dummy WebTemplate the second Web Template with the actual query is called without displaying anything else than the variable screen.
WHEN 'DUMMY_CUSTOMEREXIT_VAR'.
    data: w_date like sy-datum
    IF i_step = 2.
      READ TABLE i_t_var_range INTO var_range
        WITH KEY vnam = 'VAR1'.
