Retrieving TDMS files in Directory

In the script below, I have 2 issues with the usage of DataFileLstGet :
1. The wildcard specified is (*.tdms) which I think should only look for (.tdms) files, but it is also picking up (.tmds_index) files,
I am temporarily filtering this out by checking for the file extension length as four.
2. The function only returns that there are 2 tdms files in the directory pointed to, while in reality I have more than 2 files in this directory.
Can anyone give me an idea of what the issue could be ?  I am using Diadem version 10.2 Base Edition, VB script engine is 5,5,0,5207.
Thanks.

  • Retrieve all files in a directory

    Hi,
I need to retrieve a list of files or all file names in a certain directory.
Does anyone know how what classes to use??
    Thanks

    Hi,
The following code retrieves the file list from the user's current directory. Note, the user should have read permission on the directory.
    String dir = System.getProperty("user.dir");
    File file = new File(dir);
    if (file.isDirectory()) {
    String fileList[] = file.list();
    int i,n=fileList.length;
    for (i=0;i<n;i++) {
    System.out.println(fileList);

  • Can we create TDMS file using C# and retrieve the data using a diadem

I want to write a tdms file from a dot net application and to use the diadem to retrieve the data and to create a user defined report

    Hello,
If you want this kind of output, you can use Java Mapping e.g
    1. Create your data type like this:
    CHARSET 0..1
    LOADMODE 0..1
    CODEFORMAT 0..1
    CURRENCY 0..1
    SUPPLIERID_DOMAIN 0..1
    ITEMCOUNT 0..1
    TIMESTAMP 0..1
    UNUOM 0..1
    COMMENTS 0..1
    FIELDNAMES 0..1
    DATA 0..unbounded
    ENDOFDATA
2.In your message mapping assign all the constants. You might want to concat all the values of the FIELDNAMES and output them to DATA
3.In your Java Mapping, replace all the XML fields including ,, with ,''',
4.In ID, do not use FCC.
    Hope this helps,
    Mark

  • Retrieve text file from ftp server every 15 mins

    Hi guys,
We are able to connect to an FTP server with 5 text files. Every 15 minutes, we need to retrieve each of the 5 files. Please assist me with the coding logic to retrieve the file into the SAP Directory. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try searching on SCN, there are plenty of materials you can find without even asking a question in the forum.
    How to use SCN search
For example, if you search with keywords "FTP ABAP", immediately the first two Wiki entries would give you the details you are looking for.

  • Reading all files on directory using "utl_file" package...

I need to read all files in directory via PL/SQL. I don't know
name files (are data dynamics create for automation system),
    only I know your extensions.
Can I do this using the package "utl_file" or I need to create
program in another language (C, C++, for example)?
    Any ideas...
    Thanks.

    Hi,
you can't do that with the UTL_FILE package (it can't retrieve
    file names).
A very simple solution would be, if you created on OS-level a
file which contains the filenames of directory and then read this
file using UTL_FILE. With the information on all file names you
can enter a loop which opens and reads all files again using
    UTL_FILE.
A more mundane solution could be to use the features on the iFS.
    Cheers
    Gerald

  • FTP adapter: exc. 550 : No such file or directory

    Hi Men,
    I'm working on 7.0 version.
I am facing a problem with FTP adapter.
In few words, I configured a CC FTP sender to get files from a remote server (in test mode).
As I start this channel, CC monitor retrieves the following error message:
"Could not process file '<getThisFile>.xml': com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 550 outbox: No such file or directory."
where '<getThisFile>.xml' is filename and "outbox" is the directory.
I presume that it recognizes the filename and the directory but the error message says "dir or file are wrongs".
I tried the same action by command line with same user and password ftp. Result: I was able to get this file from dir "outbox".
...I should exclude a file permission problem.
Here below, some Logs from "default.trc" file:

    BS_Arianna_DEV related Business Service.
    'orders.00089872.xml' file to get.
    'outbox' dir path
    .... nothing else.
Have you ever faced a similar problem? Any suggestion to fix it?
    Thanks in advance
    Alex

    Hi friends,
FTP server is a Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
When I log in, I only change in a sub dir called outbox.
If I put back slash before (for WinOS), the dir path is wrong (cd \outbox should mean that outbox is under root).
    Some FTP server logs:
    Nov 29 09:40:00 golem ftpd[25272]: USER 8023******
    Nov 29 09:40:00 golem ftpd[25272]: PASS password****
    Nov 29 09:40:00 golem ftpd[25272]: SYST
    Nov 29 09:40:00 golem ftpd[25272]: TYPE Image
    Nov 29 09:40:00 golem ftpd[25272]: CWD outbox
    Nov 29 09:40:00 golem ftpd[25272]: PASV
    Nov 29 09:40:00 golem ftpd[25272]: LIST orders*
    Nov 29 09:40:00 golem ftpd[25272]: CWD outbox
    Nov 29 09:40:00 golem ftpd[25272]: QUIT
I suppose that XI works fine and FTP server receives two times the "cd outbox" command. II also suppose that this Windows FTP server  memorizes the subdir "outbox" each time I log in by FTP with user  "8023******"

  • Reading TDMS files in Matlab

I am trying to read TDMS files directly into Matlab using the NI  nilibddc.dll. I have read most of the posts on here but still have a problem...
Within Matlab I can open and read a file and get the data but I cant find anything that tells me what the sample interval (between samples) is for a particular file. I guess its in the header somewhere but how do I access it?
I cant find anything that tells what function to use to get it from the header.
In fact i cant find anyhting that tells me what the functions are in the DLL.
I tried opening the CHM help file, this has a list of all the functions but when you click on one in the contents it reports 'the address is not valid'. It seems the link is borken somehow in the help file (this is on XP)!
    any help gratefully receieved!

    hi mike,
if your data is stored in form of waveforms, this information can be retrieved from the channel:
    Entity
    Property
    Data type
    Description
    tdm_channel
    wf_xname
    string
Name of the x-channel of the waveform
    tdm_channel
    wf_xunit_string
    string
    Unit text of the x-channel
    tdm_channel
    wf_start_time
    time
    Time stamp for the waveform
    tdm_channel
    wf_start_offset
    double
Starting offset (to be added to the time stamp)
    tdm_channel
    wf_increment
    double
    Increment
    tdm_channel
    wf_samples
    long
Number of samples in one shot (needed by LabVIEW when concatenating
more consecutive shots). This property is used by DIAdem and DataFinder to decide whether the tdm_channel is a waveform (wf_samples > 0) or not (wf_samples = 0, or not existing).
    tdm_channel
    wf_time_pref
    string
(enum: "absolute" or "relative") Additional information for LabVIEW to
determine if the x-channel is treated as time (absolute) or as index
    (relative). (not available in LVM)

  • Failed to create a temporary file in directory C:\PROGRA~2\: Method GetTempFileName

I have Mcafee anti-virus and currently purchased a new package, so I decided to reinstall the software as it would not verify through the other product package.
So I unistalled and tried to reinstall the software and now everytime I try to install any software it either:
    (1) does not run the installation process or
    (2) an error message pops up saying: "failed to create a temporary file in directory C:\PROGRA~2\: Method GetTempFileName"
I am really stuck as I now basicaly can't run installations and cannot retrieve Mcafee either.
I have an HP Elitebook 8440p.
    Any ideas??

Not permissions.  Not TEMP path name.
After some research we ran Process Monitor during the build.  Turns out we used up all of the temporary file names... LOL!
Tmp file names in Vista, and maybe others, have the format tmp####.tmp, where #### is 0x0000 to 0xffff.   When we looked in the Temp directory we found over 65,000 TMP files.  We are guessing that CSC creates these files but does not remove them.  After so many thousands of builds, we ran out of names.  We thought they were gone when we ran Disk Cleanup, but MSBUILD uses the administrator account while we were cleaning from a user account.
Might be nice if CSC deleted it's TMP files...
There ya go, add that to your bag of tricks... :)

  • Scc question: how can I retrieve all files in 6.1?

    hello
I have recently upgraded from LV5.1 to 6.1.. In 5.1
it was possible to retrieve all files of a project
with scc. When I try to do that in 6.1 (scc provider, select changed files, get latest version..) LV searches
always in the local work directory for the vi's, but they don't exist, so I have to press "cancel" all the
    time.
Is there an easier way to retrieve all files of a project at once???
    thanks

NI support has sent me this VI, replace the original
    VI and it works..

  • Can't un-write protect TDM files

I am using the storage VIs to manipulate a TDM file that was created using the TDM header writer API. When I try to do any operations on it (specifically, deleting a channel), i get error -2561 "Data storage is write-protected.". I have checked the permissions on the file and they should be correct.
I ran some tests and found that i can create a TDM file using the storage VIs and delete a channel without any issues. According to LabVIEW, the file created using this method has the same permissions of the problem file.
Do you think this could be a bug with the TDM header writer VIs? Or am i missing something obvious?
I have attached  files showcasing the issue.
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Bazookazuz-
The standard is described in the Developer Zone described above.  TDM files are binary files written such that it follows a particular pattern.  That way the data can be easily retrieved and interpreted later.  It is written in the fashion to save disk space and to be created/modified quickly.  All TDM files acquiring data from multiple channels follow the same format alternating between each channel taking each sample (also described in the Developer Zone article).  By converting the data to End-to-End, it makes all the data for each channel together.
In order to distinguish between the modified and unmodified tdm files, there is no way to just look at the file type and know without a naming scheme.  Programmatically, you can parse out the first few data sets and see if they are the same channel and then you can determine from there.
