    Hi Scott,
    With EnableQueryRules and ProcessBestBets set to true in the search rest api, we can get the promoted results(best bets) in SharePoint 2013.
    I recommend to type the search rest api URL in the browser directly and then check if the best bets are displayed at the top of the search results.
    It will not displayed inside the table for normal results.
    Please also make sure that the query text matches the query rule condition.
    Thanks,
    Victoria

  • How to retrive latest items from different site collection using content search web part

    I have a web application that contains two site collections(team site + enterprise wiki), with the following URLs:-
    -http://applicationname/teamsite
    -http://applicationname/enterprisewik
    Now I need to display the latest 10 wiki pages that are inside the enterprise wiki site collection (according to the modified date) inside the team site. So I read that using Content search web part allows for cross-site content query.
    So I added a new content search web part , inside my team site, and I click on “change query” button. But I am not sure how I can reference the enterprise wiki site collection's library and to specify that I need to get the latest 10 wiki pages using the
    content search web part's query dialog box? Can anyone advice please ?
    Thanks

    Edit the webpart and click change query in search criteria.  click on switch to advanced mode and enter your path:
    (path:"http://applicationname/teamsite" OR path:"http://applicationname/enterprisewik")
    you can specify sorting by created date and click ok.  in number of items to show, type 10.  this should fulfill your requirement.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 site server client installation error: The client version 5.00.7958.1000 does not match the MP version 5.00.7804.1000.

    Hello,
    When I try to install the client on the site server itself it gives me this error message and fails the ccmsetup. I only have this on the site server. Clients to other servers and computers are pushed fine. If I check the version of the MP it says 5.00.7958.1000
    in ADSI. I removed the MP object in CN=System, CN=System Management. Waited for it to be regenerated automatically by SCCM but the installation doesn't work still.
    I tried to install with several methods including directly from ccmsetup.exe in ccmsetup folder, pushing by sccm itself, running from commandline, ...
    I run SCCM 2012 R2 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and the database on SQL 2008 on Server 2008 R2

    I agree with Idan. You can easily remove the Management Point Site System role and add it again with no adverse effect. This should solve your problem.

  • Problem with setting Created, Modified, Author, Editor on file i Site Collection from Client SDK

    Hello,
    I have a piece of code that is used for converting files from a shared file area to SharePoint for customers that move to SharePoint and Dynamics CRM. The relation to Dynamics CRM calls for using custom code an not existing conversion tools.
    The code I wrote works fine if the file sent to a regular site in SharePoint, but if I try to use the same code for files in the Site Collection. If I use the address for the site collection in the constructor for the ClientContext, and the relative URL
    from that for the file, both the upload and the setting of the attributes fails (I do make sure the file is there before trying to set the attributes).
    After some experimentation I am able to upload the file, by creating the client context with the main site URL, and adding the site collection path elements ("/sites/crm") to the path for the file, but using the same the setting of the attributes
    fails.
    I have tried some other variant where the site collection elements are in the path for both the ClientContext and the file path. Then the upload fails, the file retrival (GetFileByServerRelativeUrl) works, but the retrival of the attributes then fails.
    The code below illustrates the variations.
    Can someone please explain what I am doing wrong, or is this a bug in the SDK?
    Regards

    Hello,
    Thanks for your effort, but you are not addressing the problem.
    As I tried to explain, setting the date works fine in the case where there is no site collection involved. There is no reason to believe that this will be different when in a site collection. Also the logon works fine in borth cases. The FieldUserValue.FromUser
    can take either an email, or a prefered name. I tested both.

  • How to retrive profile picture with DotNetOpenAuth

    Hi,
    I'm using VS 2013 and DotNetOpenAuth to authenticate users with facebook and I would like to retrive the profile picture of the user, so I can show the picture of the logged in user in my site.
    I know that I can send extra data to facebook with the method "AddFacebook" and I also have the option to replace the method "requestauthentication" by the "createrequest" to have more control of this part, but I couldn't find
    a way to request the profile picture - and I'm not sure if the login request is the best moment for this request.

    I just logged onto DW this morning, and attempted to pull up a site when I noticed that all of my sites were missing...as though I had installed DW for the first time ever. WTF? Is there a way to retrive them, or do I need to recreate each one again?
    This upgrade has been terrible so far.
    Any ideas on why or how to get the list back?
    Thx,

    This upgrade has been terrible so far.
    Which upgrade?  Were the sites there at first?  Have you tried restarting your system?  Did you by any chance EXPORT your site definitions to protect yourself from this?  What platform are you on - PC or Mac? How many sites are we talking about here?

    Let me explain the situation. In our current setup we use TOAD to create/change our custom objects (Package, Procedure and Function). When a change is ready to be migrated to production we copy the source code from development and paste it into production Toad editor and execute the object to save in database.
    We want to get away from that and deploy the changes using command line (this idea is to use subversion to capture chanes and deploy through a script).
    Now to implement this solution, broke it down to two components
    1) Extract all custom objects' metadata and store in folders. For this I used DBMS_METADATA.getDDL() API and passed the parameter like 'PACKAGE', 'PROCEDURE' etc. I wrote a java program and ran that program from windows command line and I'm able to see all the objects retrived, saved into corresponding file names and into their respective folders.
    2)Deploy. As as developer, I would get the source code for an object from one of the folders in my windows environment and then make the necessary modifications. Lets say for eg. test1.prc is a procedure that I extracted from database and I modified the code. Now I'm ready to deploy this code change in production.
    Two ways of deploying in production 1) Use Toad to execute the changes and 2) Use SQLPlus to compile the changes.
    I'm looking at a 3rd alternative wherein if there is any API's similar to GetDDL() (I wish they had SetDDL), I would write a JAVA wrapper to send the changes back to database.
    If we do not have one, the only way I can think of is to call sqlplus through program and then compile the object. (This would be my alternative solution).
    Hope I explained it clearly.
    Thanks
    Ash

  • Want to store and retrived  images  in the BFILE format using inter media

    I want to store and retrived images in the BFILE format using inter media.I found a article in the oracle site that Oracle interMedia image supports BFILEs.But this article is not demonstrating the use of BFILEs.Please help me to findout the solution.
    Thanks in advance.
    null

    The advantage to using BFILE storage for your is that it's an easy way for Oracle
    Multimedia to access your images without importing them into the database.
    The disadvantages are that the images are read-only. If you want to scale an image or
    convert to a different format, you will need to create a destination image to hold the result. This
    will necessarily be a BLOB based image.
    Adding images is difficult to do from within an application program. Generally you would add new images to a file system that is accessible to the Oracle Database, then insert new rows in your table with appropriate BFILE pointers to the new images.
    BFILE images require separate backup from the database. Also there is not way to transactionally coordinate your BFILE data with your relational data.
    If you are using Oracle 11g, you can use the SecureFile option for BLOB storage. This is much faster then the previous BLOB storage (now called BasicFile) and much faster then BFILE also.
    That said, below is a code snippet that shows how to insert a BFILE based image, set it's properties, show it's properties and select the BFILE locator to access the content. You would need to use the DBMS_LOB package (in PL/SQL) to read the content. From other APIs, (e.g., Java) you would need to use the proper interfaces to access the BFILE.
    Note that you need change the USER, PASSWORD fields in the code. Also you should change the directory location and image name for your use.
    -- create a directory object indicating where the images are stored;
    create or replace directory imgdir as '/tmp';
    -- and grant permission to read to a user;
    grant read on directory imgdir to <USER>;

  • Caml query to retrive keyword from rich text field

    hi friends
    i am using below caml query to retrieve data from title field and Rich text field(Definition)
    <View>
    <Query>
    <Where>
    <And>
    <Or>
    <Eq>
    <FieldRef Name=\'Title\'/>
    <Value Type=\'Text\'>'+letter+'</Value>
    </Eq>
    <Contains>
    <FieldRef Name=\'Definition\' />
    <Value Type=\'Note\'>'+letter+'</Value>

    </Or>

    <FieldRef Name=\'status\' />
    <Value Type=\'Text\'>Not approved</Value>
    </Neq>
    </And>
    </Where>
    <OrderBy><FieldRef Name=\'Title\' /></OrderBy>
    </Query>
    </View>
    this query is working fine. But it is retrieving some extra fields also which doesn't have the queried string. and even it is retrieving keyword from image urls which are present in rich text field.
    Please help me to retrieve key word from plain text of rich text field.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to use caml query to retrive keyword from rich text field
    By design, when specifying a ViewFields clause, values for these fields are returned, together with a few system columns like ID, Created and Modified.
    If you query rich text field, it will return the field with HTML tags.
    To retrieve key word from plain text of rich text field, you need to use regular expression to remove the HTML tags.
    You can use the code below:
    using (SPSite site = new SPSite("http://sitename"))
    using (SPWeb spWeb = site.OpenWeb())
    SPList spList = spWeb.Lists.TryGetList("ListName");
    SPQuery qry = new SPQuery();
    if (spList != null)
    qry.Query =
    @" <Where>
    <Contains>
    <FieldRef Name='Rich_x0020_Text' />
    <Value Type='Note'>caml</Value>
    </Contains>
    </Where>";
    qry.ViewFields = @"<FieldRef Name='Title' /><FieldRef Name='Rich_x0020_Text' />";
    SPListItemCollection listItems = spList.GetItems(qry);
    foreach (SPListItem item in listItems)
    string src = item["Rich_x0020_Text"].ToString();
    Regex htmlReg = new Regex(@"<[^>]+>", RegexOptions.Compiled | RegexOptions.IgnoreCase);
    src = htmlReg.Replace(src, string.Empty);
    Console.WriteLine(src);
    Console.ReadKey();
    The result is as below:

  • How to retrive data from listbox of client !!

    I have a listbox from client.
    method: request.getParameter(listbox_name) only get value of selected member.
    How do i retrive all of member of this listbox from servlet.

    Hi,
    This is not possible with a normal form/listbox. Why? Because this data doesn't get submitted to the server.
    Possible solutions:
    - know at front what your sending to the client
    - add an "onclick" event handler to your submit button (client-side) which enumerates all items in the selectbox and puts them in a hidden field or in the querystring.
    Normally, if the form is sent from your site, the first solution should do. Otherwise you're creating overhead on your connection.
    Regards,
    Kurt.
