Return value(navigation) with Dropdown component

I have a dropdown component on the page and selecting an item should open another page. Any ideas how it could be done?
Data goes in sessionbean.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Thanks for your answers.
I solved my problem using :
     Bapisditm items = new Bapisditm();
     items.setMaterial(wdContext.nodeArticle().currentArticleElement().getMatnr());
     inputPO.addOrder_Items_In(items);
The problem was coming from the fact that the bapi was requiring input tables.

    I have a form (consult that return a value) with a jtextfield and a jtable. when the user types in the textfield, the textfield call a method to filter the tablemodel.
    everything works fine, but after filtering the model, the references are lost and the return value does not match with the selected row.
    I read that convertColumnIndexToView, convertRowIndexToView, vertColumnIndexToModel and convertRowIndexToModel, solve the problem, but I used all and nothing.
    You're right in that you have to use convertRowIndexToModel(), but you are using it wrong. That method takes as input the index of a row in the view, i.e. the table, and returns the corresponding row in the underlying TableModel. No data is changed by the call, so this:
    this.jTable1.convertRowIndexToModel(0);is meaningless by itself.
    What you need to do is the following:
    int selectedRow = this.jTable1.getSelectedRow(); // This is the selected row in the view
    if (selectedRow >= 0) {
        int modelRow = this.jTable1.convertRowIndexToModel(selectedRow); // This is the corresponding row in the model
        String str_id =this.jTable1.getModel().getValueAt(modelRow, 0).toString();
    }Hope this helps.

  • Horizontal Navigation with Dropdown Menu

    Hello!
    I am trying to put together a site with Horizontal navigation with items in the dropdown. I built my plan with main pages and child pages, and added my horizontal navigation on the Master page, but when I go to preview, I don't see any of my dropdown (child) pages. Is there any way to fix this? (I've attached a screenshot, hopefully this will help clarify)......

    Hello,
    Please click on the tiny white Arrow in the blue circle which comes up at the top right of the Menu. And there change the Menu type from Top Level pages to All pages.
    Note : Child pages on the same level in Plan view are listed vertically in a Horizontal Menu.

  • Mapping with dropdown component

    Hi,
    I have a view with a dropdownbyIndex component. The entries available in the dropdown list are comming from a bapi result.
    In order to do this, the property "texts" of the compopnent is pointing to a model attribute of my context which is mapped to my custom controler .
    This works fine and when executing I see all possible values coming from my bapi.
    Now the problem is that I need to get the selected value of the list to be an input parameter for another bapi I import in my model.
    How to do this ?
    My view context have a node "MyList" and under this a property "MyProp" but it is already bound in my custom controler to the bapi_input that get the list to display.
    If I try to set manually the bapi_input (wdContext.myNode.currentElement.setMyProp("toto")), a null pointer exception occurs at runtime.
    Thanks,

    Thank you for help, but I found that It is not checked. Also, I tried to override the standard logic that is named "perform navigation for selected action item" and in the same time create new logic without any result.

  • Column with dropdown with different values in each cell

    Hello,
    I have a Table and one of the columns contains a dropdown list (dropdownbykey). My problem is that the list of values for each drop down element is different because it depends on the value in the rest of the row cells. Obviously I need to calculate the values dynamically at runtime.
    I have created a context node and linked it to the table columns, one of the attributes in the node is linked to the 'selectedKey' property of the dropdown. Then in my code I try to give the list of values to this attribute using the method set_attribute_value_set from the if_wd_context_node_info interface. The process it's explained in the DEMO_UIEL_STD_SELECTION component.
    But I only get the same values for each row.
    I would like to know if it's possible to have dropdowns with different values in the same column of a Table, and if so any indication of how to do that.
    Best regards,

    Hello Javier,
    unfortunately you cannot use dropdown by key if you want to have different dropdowns per line of your table.
    Instead you will need to use dropdown by index, and bind your dropdown to a subnode of the table element (ensure that this is a non-singleton node).
    To make life easier for yourself, I would also have an attribute in your main structure that holds the selected value of the dropdown by index - update this value on any "onSelect" action of the dropdown by index.
    e.g. for a table that holds addresses:
    Context Node Address:
    attribute street
    attribute city
    attribute country
    attribute region
    subnode regionlist
    ...attribute regionkey
    ...attribute region_text
    table - bound to node address
    input field bound to street
    input field bound to city
    dropdown by key bound to country (onSelect event populates subnode regionlist)
    dropdown by index bound to subnode regionlist, text bound to region text, (onSelect event populates address element attribute region with key field of selected element).
    I hope this helps,

  • How to call a dialog program with return value in another dialog program

    Dear All,
    How can I call a dialog program with return value from another dialog program?
    Regards,
    Alok.

    Hi Alok,
    You can you SET/GET parameters to do this.
    This is some information about this.
    To fill the input fields of a called transaction with data from the calling program, you can use the SPA/GPA technique. SPA/GPA parameters are values that the system stores in the global, user-specific SAP memory. SAP memory allows you to pass values between programs. A user can access the values stored in the SAP memory during one terminal session for all parallel sessions. Each SPA/GPA parameter is identified by a 20-character code. You can maintain them in the Repository Browser in the ABAP Workbench. The values in SPA/GPA parameters are user-specific.
    ABAP programs can access the parameters using the SET PARAMETER and GET PARAMETERstatements.
    To fill one, use:
    SET PARAMETER ID pid FIELD f.
    This statement saves the contents of field f under the ID pid in the SAP memory. The ID pid can be up to 20 characters long. If there was already a value stored under pid, this statement overwrites it. If you double-click pid in the ABAP Editor, parameters that do not exist can be created as a Repository object.
    To read an SPA/GPA parameter, use:
    GET PARAMETER ID pid FIELD f.
    This statement places the value stored under the pid ID into the variable f. If the system does not find any value for pid in the SAP memory, sy-subrc is set to 4. Otherwise, it sets the value to 0.

  • How to pass a function with the same argument multiple times and return values in variables?

    The problem I have is I created a function which really is some kind of database.  Basically a bunch of:
    if (a.value == "this number"){
    b.value = "this expression";
    Inside the form are 2 dropdown lists that return numerical values which I want to process through that function and put the return value inside separate variables.
    var a = this.getField("OPE003.EVEN.1.MIP");
    Mip(a);
    var result1 = Mip();
    I tried to overwriting *a* to process the second field
    a = this.getField("OPE003.EVEN.2.MIP");
    Mip(a);
    var result2 = Mip();
    result1 and result2 are put in an array, joined as a string.
    Doing so, I always get the last processing twice as the final result.
    Can I use a function as a batch processing tool that way?

    You are right, I changed the code to what you said but how do I pass another value through my fonction so I can get Result1 and Result2?
    is it
    var a = this.getField("OPE003.EVEN.1.MIP");
    var b = this.getField("OPE003.EVEN.2.MIP");
    var result1 = Mip(a);
    var result2 = Mip(b);
    var c = new Array[result1, result2]

  • Getting Return values from RFC function call with visual basic

    Hi,
    I am creating a sample app to connect to a SAP system which call its RFC functions created with ABAP. It was known that the function will return more than 1 return values.
       SAP Function name ==> "ZFMTP_RFC_GET_RESULT"
            Export parameters (to SAP):
                    - Student Name [char 10]         ==> "STUNAME"

           Return values (From SAP):
                    - Results [char 10]        ==> "RESULT"
                    - Remarks [char 200]        ==> "REMARKS"
    i have managed to get sample codes for connecting and call a RFC function with vb but they only get a return value. How do i retrieve multiple return values like the above function "RESULT" and "REMARKS"?

  • Calling web service via utl_dbws with unbounded return values

    Hello, everyone.
    I'm trying to use utl_dbws to call web service from Oracle DB 10 g.
    WS has unbounded return value:

    Hi Tony
    I'm not sure if you would have solved your problem by now, but with my recent experience with the utl_dbws package, for doc lits with complex data types, you have to call the service with an XML request, as opposed to passing the param array.
    If you still need details, reply accordingly.

  • Problem with return value of stored function

    Hi,
    I've made a stored function that insert a new row in a table and return the primary key (see at the end of the message the function script).
    In VS 2005 with Visual basic, using the designer, I've created a dataset containing a tableAdapter to be able to use the Pl/SQL function.
    My problem is I can't get the proper return value. The VB code below works without error except that I get 0 as value.
    What's wrong?
    Cheers,
    Sebastien
    VB code
    Dim myAddSession As New ICISDataSetTableAdapters.AddSessionTableAdapter
    Dim intSessionId As Integer
    intSessionId = myAddSession.ADD_SESSION(tbxUsername.Text, _
    tempFolder.Substring(tempFolder.LastIndexOf("\") + 1), _
    "toto", Environment.GetEnvironmentVariable("COMPUTERNAME"), _
    myLevelAccess.icisUserId, myLevelAccess.levelId)
    The debugger tells me that the ADD_SESSION function return value is Object.
    add_session PL/SQL script:
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION ICISSEC.add_session (

    Nope, can't do that in the signature. You'll need to handle that by validating the passed parameters at the start of the function.
    It's simple enough. In your case you might just as well test for NULL and fail the function like this:
        FUNCTION date_post_message(
                user_lock_in IN NUMBER,
                form_type_in IN NUMBER DEFAULT 0 ,
                date_in      IN DATE)
            RETURN BOOLEAN
        IS
            v_num NUMBER(1);
        BEGIN
            dbms_output.put_line('Value of parameters : user_lock_in : '||user_lock_in || ' : form_type_in : '||form_type_in||' : date_in : '||date_in );
            IF user_lock_in = 1 THEN
                RETURN FALSE;
            END IF;
            IF form_type_in IS NULL THEN
                RETURN FALSE;
            ELSIF form_type_in NOT IN (1,2) THEN
                RETURN FALSE;
            END IF;
            RETURN TRUE;
        EXCEPTION
        WHEN NO_DATA_FOUND THEN
            RETURN FALSE;
        END;In other use cases I would declare a local variable and process it like this:
            IF form_type_in IS NULL THEN
                l_form_type := 0;
            ELSE
                 l_form_type := form_type_in;
            END IF;Obviously the code should use the local variable rather than the parameter.
    Validating the values passed in parameters at the start of a function is good practice. If you really want to go to town, read about Design By Contract.

  • How to populate right side of Shuttle with display/return values?

    Hello,
    I know, that the proper way to populate the right side of shuttle is that:
    declare
         v_list     apex_application_global.vc_arr2;
    begin
         select profile_name return_value
           bulk     collect
           into     v_list
           from     user_profiles
          where     user_id = :p61_user_id;
         return (apex_util.table_to_string (v_list));
    end;It is comfortable for the user to see the name of the profile.
    However, I need a profile_id as a return value, like I have it on the left side of the shuttle.
    The left side of the shuttle is populated with a select list with display/return values, as you know.
    I need both sides of the shuttle to return profile_id in order to create a merge.
    How is it possible to populate the right side of the Shuttle with display/return values?

    All you have to do is to use the subset of shuttle query to assign value to the right side shuttle.
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=50942:95
    I have created a dummy page with shuttle query
    SELECT ename, empno FROM emp ORDER by 1then I have defined a pl-sql before header process to assign values to shuttle variable
    using the code
    begin
    :P95_SHUTTLE := '7566:219:7900:7782:90';
    end;since 90 is not one the result set of the shuttle query it is getting displayed as number, and for others it is displaying the text. Thanks.

And the following is the correct approach (using OUT variables is not!) - you deal with the multiple values as a data structure. This example uses an custom (user-defined) SQL data type as the structure.

  • Double Quotes In LOV Return Value Being Replaced With &qu ot; By APEX 4

    My company recently upgraded our development and test boxes to APEX 4.0.2, which we have been wanting for a while now. We discovered that since the upgrade some of our checkboxes and radio groups no longer work as expected. What I mean by this is that the return values being checked for were not correct, and on several occasions we received PL/SQL errors related to numeric to character conversion issues.
    After debugging some it turns out that we have the following LOV query for one of our Checkboxes:
    select
    statement d,
    stmt_id || '" title="&P20_FORM_STMT. ' || statement || '.' r
    from
    stmts
    The return value for the LOV is setup so that it would return a 508 compliant checkbox. We were told we needed a title for each value of a checkbox or radio group to be 508 compliant. These titles must also be relevant to the selection being made, hence the substitution string being used in the return value.
    What I discovered in all of this is that APEX 3.2 did not convert the double quotes in our return value to &qu ot;, but APEX 4.0.2 does. This causes the value of any given checkbox or radio group to look like the following:
    value="1&qu ot; title=&qu ot;This is the statement that I have made."
    And what we are looking for, and what APEX used to do is this:
    value="1" title="This is the statement that I have made."
    Does anyone know a way to prevent APEX from converting the double quotes to &qu ot;, or is there a way to insert an element attribute for each checkbox or radio group value that contains a substitution string?
    Thanks in advance!

    4.2.1
    Hi,
    I have a classic report, which has a count column that is hyperlinked. using the standard apex column hyperlink option. In that we have the option of passing values. I noticed that when I am passing a value which has "/" in it, it replaces the / with & #x2F;
    I have created a application item which I am populating with the report column.
    Because of which I cannot use that value in the report query.
    Any suggestions?Yes. Don't pass string values in URLs. Especially where it is possible for these strings to contain URI reserved or APEX sensitive characters. This might work for a while but your application can be broken months from now by users including a "&" or ":" in data that gets passed as a URL parameter. Whilst it is possible to escape strings to make them URL- and APEX parameter-safe, it is much better practice to avoid the problem altogether.
    Exposing data in the URL may also introduce security vulnerabilities. Also note that the maximum length of a URL in Microsoft Internet Explorer is about 2KB, which can easily be exceeded by throwing a few string values at it.
    Only use discrete alphanumeric key values as URL parameters. In target pages/regions, use these key values to retrieve the required data using item source attributes and processes.
