Returning a list matching a query

Does anyone have any expertise in the following?
I have an Develper 2000 application that contains records for
several thousand entities, many of which have similar names. I
have a search screen that the user enters a name into, then
passes the information to a detail screen, where the user can
use the < and > buttons to navigate through the records which
match the search criteria. This can get a littl time consuming.
My users want me to create a way for the matching results from
their query to be presented in a list format, from which they
could pick the entity they want to see and have that name passed
to the detail screen.

Hi !
1. Create non-database block for detail information
2. In main block (your list) create WHEN-NEW-RECORD-INSTANCE
trigger with following code (only example)
:detail.field1 := :main.field1;
:detail.field2 := :main.field2;
3. Create view for DETAIL block.
4. When user whants to see full information, containing all the
fields of the record, he(or she)press the button which open
detail view doing, for example, go_block('DETAIL').

EO is not returning rows if discriminator set.
PartyTaxProfileEO has an attribute PARTY_TYPE_CODE which has DiscrColumn as "true". When we tried to debug into the adf code, we found that if the PARTY_TYPE_CODE is null in the query output then this row is filtered out by adf and hence the issue is coming.
I see below JBO logs where rows are not returned:

Join query in a dynamic list of values query

I have a join query in a dynamic list of values query. The value does not return a text value, but rather the id value.
Is it possible to use a join query in a dynamic list of values query?
For example...in the below query, I expect to see ename in the drop down list, but I see class_emp_id.

:CURR_CLASS_CAT_ID is a number datatype.
I think the problem is with the ARF. Whenever I change the dynamic LOV query to exclude the :CURR_CLASS_CAT_ID (a passed in session variable), the drop down shows all the text names I am looking for; albeit, too many since I am excluding the :CURR_CLASS_CAT_ID.
The page I am having the problem with is a popup that is called from a report link on another page. When I show the session variables on the popup page, it shows values for only 1 of the 3 session variables I am passing to this page.
I am using the javascript:popUp2 syntax when I call the popup page from the report link.
As I said previously, I am passing 3 parms and only the 1st parm is getting a value. Yes, there are values for all three parms in the record of the report.
Is there a limit to the number of variables (itemNames) that can be passed to the popup using this method?

CQWP does not return result for a specific query when filtering on a managed metadata field.

We are facing a serious production issue. We've search the web extensively but to no avail.
Problem:
CQWP does not return result for a specific query when filtering on a managed metadata field.
ULS log:
The Uls logs provides 3 different messages that I could relate to every time the query is executed. The last item(level Medium) is displayed 14 times. For readability I've moved the ULS logs to the bottom of this question.
Query:
The query is as follows:
(I've translated this from dutch so pardon any typo's)
Query: (top selection) Display items from all sites in the site collection
ListType: Documentlibrary

extra info: the field soort (Type) is a managed metadata field that was assigned the value X

When I modify the filter to filter on Title the CQWP DOES return the correct document!
When I modify the query settings to search a specific library the CWQP also does return the correct document! (In this case I am filtering on a managed metadata field).
QUESTION:
Why doesn't the CQWP return the document when filtering on a managed metadata field over the entire site collection.

ORA-01722: invalid number performing List of Values query

I have a situation here where I want to pass string value(available in search field) to POP up key LOV on another page as default value.
I passed item value in default field in POPup key LOV item.I am able to see string value but It also gave me following error.
Error: ORA-01722: invalid number performing List of Values query: "select CUSTOMER_NAME, CUSTOMER_ID from (select customer_name, customer_id from hed_customers) wwvlovinlineviewname where CUSTOMER_ID = :WWV_LOV_RETURN_KEY_UTIL_1111".
Without Default value, it work like champ.
Please suggest how to get rid of this error

I hit the same problem.
The thing is that, in APEX, a 'null' value in a form is not really null but gets passed on as '%'.
When that gets compared to a number, 01722 will occur.
A workaround is to define a 'value if null' that is an implicit number, like '-1'.
And lets hope no one ever uses that as a real ID...

Pl/sql web service returning a list of results

I am able to publish a pl/sql package as a web service that returns a single result. However, when I try to return a list of results, I get an error in jdeveloper when I select the package and invoke publish as web service.
I use a simple pl/sql package:

Also, before deploying, in jdeveloper, in the deploy file, I select the property filters under web-inf\classes and check all the classes that are unchecked (see thread id 505217).

Hyperlink on field in Basic list of ABAP Query

Dear All,
Could somebody tell me, if its possible to have a hyperlink on a field in the Basic list of ABAP Query (SQ01,SQ02).
Example :- There is a basic list which has the field MARA-MATNR displayed.There should be a hyperlink on this field, such that when the user clicks on it , the transaction MM03 is called.

at line-selection.
get cursor field c_field.
if c_field = 'ITAB-MATNR'.
    check not itab-matnr is initial.
    set parameter id 'MAT' field itab-matnr.
    call transaction 'MM03' and skip first screen.
endif.
This is one example to call the transaction.

Retrieve all items in a list by caml query then write it to a word file page by page

I have some code which will retrieve all items of a list with caml query.
Now i want to generate a word file with all these retrieved data. I am using foreach here to get all the items in a SPListItemCollection. Now my question is how i can write all the retrieved items inside the word file?

Return multiple lists at once...

Hi all,
I was wondering if there was a good way to return two lists of strings at once. To my knowledge, theres no such thing as a list array. Is there a better way than adding two list objects to another list and returning the new list (which contains two lists of strings)? Thanks for any info.

Another way, could be to pass one (or both) of the lists as method arguments.
e.g....
List list1 = new ArrayList();
List list2 = new ArrayList();
myMethod(list1, list2);
public void myMethod(List list1, List list2) {
if (list1 == null || list2 == null) return;
list1.add(...);
list1.add(...);
list2.add(...);
}You'll have to decide which way is suitable and if you do indeed need to
return two Lists from your method.

How to return a list of class from a package

Hi,
I'm trying to create a RPG game with 50 characters. There will be a superclass, and each character is a subclass that extends from the superclass. Each will have unique abilities that will be functions. These classes will be thrown into a package.
I would like to know the code for returning the list of classes in that package. That way, I can present them as a list for the player to choose just a handful of characters to start out with.

SQL Statement ignored performing List of Values query

Hi, New user just learning the basics. I have created a simple table PERSON with columns, ID, firstname, lastname, phone, city, State_ID
Then clicked create Lookup table - State_Lookup with columns State_ID and State_Name.
I create a page, include all columns from PERSON. For State the field is a select list that should do a lookup form the STATE_LOOKUP table. (I have entered 4 states in the table)
I am getting the following error however:
Error: ORA-06550: line 1, column 14: PL/SQL: ORA-00904: "STATE_ID": invalid identifier ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored performing List of Values query: "select STATE_ID d, STATE_ID v from STATE_ID_LOOKUP order by 1".
I have not entered any sql, just selected all of my options using defaults and dropdowns. What is causing the error and what do I need to change?

Okay, learned something: The database link name used, must not contain a dash. The DB_DOMAIN is appended automatically when you create a DB link, so if IT contains a dash, the db link name does as well. Check DBA_DB_LINKS to make sure you don't hit this well-hidden feature.
