Reverse Proxy in SOAMANAGER not working

SAP Environment: SAP Netweaver 7.01 SP3
Service Testing Tool: SOAPUI
Requirements: Redirect the end-point (serverA) in the WSDL of a web service created from an ABAP proxy to the load balancer
What I have done:
1. Defined a Reverse Proxy in SOAMANAGER to redirect from serverA:8010 to loadBalancer:80.
2. Tested the service and it worked fine.
3. To make sure the Reverse Proxy was working, I changed loadBalancer:80 to a server name that does not exist.
4. Tested the service again and it still worked.
Questions:
1. Found SAP help on Reverse Proxy but it does not explain all the fields.  In the Reverse Proxy configuration, there is a Status field, any idea what value should be put there?  I have left it blank.
2. Is there any other configuration needed for the Reverse Proxy to work?
3. Is there a way to check if the Reverse Proxy is working?
Any help will be appreciated.

Got the rever proxy to work.  Below are the field values in the reverse proxy setting that has worked:
Reverse proxy name: <any name>
Incoming http header host name: server1.domain..company.com (get it from the end-point in WSDL)
Incoming ICM port: port (get it from the end-point in WSDL)
Substitute host name: server2.domain..company.com (has to be FQDN)
Substitute http port: 80 (in my case)
Substitute https port: (blank)
Additional path prefix: (blank)
Meta data protocol subsitution: http
Endpoint protocol subsitution: http
Status: active

  • After setting the reverse proxy, SSO doesn't work

    Hi,
We are facing a problem after setting a reverse proxy. ITS&SSO is working fine for internal users but the problem is with the external users;ITS is working fine for external users but SSO is not working. Does anyone can help us out with this problem ? It is kind of urgent.
    Thanks
    Serkan

    Eric,
    Sorry for misunderstanding,
The domain for internal/external users are the same https://external.global.rexam.<b>net</b>/irj/portal
            internal.global.rexam.net/irj/portal
    But the ITS goes through:
    bca.rexam.<b>com</b>

  • Reverse proxy plugin does not like the POST method

My second tier is not functionning properly when placed behind a S1WS6 with reverse proxy
Client ====== SunOne web server with Passthrough ====== .NET app server & web services.
The web server configuration (reverse proxy libpassthrough.so) is configured and is working correctly when it comes to requesting normal pages, however a problem arises when the request is made either by:
1- Invoking a web service on the .Net tier, or
2- The .Net tier performs a server.transfer call within the same .net server (Page transfer)
Keep in mind that the .Net tier works fine when not accessed through the reverse proxy.
It seems that when a POST method is invoked, a Session Close is sent before data is sent back !!
We tried to isolate the problem from different angles but came up short, the http server log shows that the request was made
    192.168.2.7 - - [14/Jul/2004:14:10:56 +0300] "POST /wavedms2.0/TestWebService/TestService.asmx HTTP/1.1" 100 0
Although response 100 indicates that it is waiting for more, while the web service error shows the following:
The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a receive.
    at System.Web.Services.Protocols.WebClientProtocol.GetWebResponse(WebRequest request)
    at System.Web.Services.Protocols.HttpWebClientProtocol.GetWebResponse(WebRequest request)

    at TestWebService.oWebService.MyWebSvc.HelloWorld()
    at TestWebService.Form1.button1_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e)
In general, any page that uses POST method faces the same problem.I appreciate any help you can provide us with a solution on this issue.

The Application Server plugin, libpassthrough.so, was designed to connect Web Server to Application Server. Unfortunately, it does not work with IIS which sends unsolicited "HTTP/1.1 100 Continue" responses.

  • Proxy Settings still not working with new 3.1

The new 3.1 of Safari for Windows still does not work properly with proxies (PAC files) with regards to using current logged on User Credentials when a Proxy requires authentication. Anyone have similar issues?

    3.18.8 @ 3:58PM NOPE NOT FIXED...
MY browser is still crashing when trying to go to secure websites behind a corporate firewall (specific ISA 2006)
The problem is with the way Sfari Handles Secure website request
Firefox works because it uses its own module.
----"First of all I'm running Safari on my Leopard
This computer is on a corporate network behind ISA Server 2006
I'm able to Authenticate to go to the internet but when I try to go to a secure website (example https://www.bankofamerica.com )My browser Crashes.
I was expecting the new release of Safari to fix this but I'm still having the same issue.
Looks like the problem is the way this browser handles secure connection requests from behind a corporate firewall.
Any one has a clue how to fix this?
I havent been able to find any acceptable fixes for this problem (with exception of running a proxy server on this computer such as squid)
    Thanks ..

  • Proxy.pac file not working for using proxy for selected websites

After changing my ISP, i cant connect to Bluenest.org directly but with proxy. I can also connect by setting manual proxy server for all websites. But I dont want to do that as there is a bit security problem. I just wrote Proxy.pac files to use proxy sever for that particular website & put its location on Automatic Proxy Configuration. But its not working. I va tried with two types of .pac files. Given the code of the files below.....
    First one..........
    <pre><nowiki>
    function FindProxyForURL(url, host)
    if (shExpMatch(url, "http://bluenest.org") || localHostOrDomainIs(host, "http://www.bluenest.org"))
      return "PROXY 204.45.138.4:80";
     else
      return "DIRECT";
    </nowiki></pre>
    Second one......
    <pre><nowiki>function FindProxyForURL(url, host)
    if(!isResolvable(host))
    return "DIRECT";
    return "PROXY 204.45.138.4:80";
    }</nowiki></pre>
but none of them working. Please help.
Can you please tell which proxy server is fastest & safest.
    Thanx in advance

I submitted a bug report to Apple. The problem is present since 10.9.2, now with 10.10 and iOS. I hope they will take this problem seriously.

    Hi,
    My interface is WS-XI-ABAPproxy.
It was working fine. And I was able to test end-to-end using XML spy.
After 5 days when I tested it again it is not working.
    I didn’t make any changes.
Today when I run, it is giving error in XI box.
Please find trace from XI box.

  • Mail app in proxy network will not work

    Hi guys
iphone / ipad 5.1 in a wired / wireless network. Only chance to reach email is to use a HTTP proxy (tried a few with no auth and with auth).
No way to use MAIL with proxy. I'm able to use safari and app store but no way to use Mail, configured as exchange
I suspect, reading posts on the net, that mail doesnt use proxy for its protocol.
This is very annoying, did someone find a solution or a workaroud?
    Many thanks

Check the System Preferences > Mouse settings to be sure they are correct for a three button mouse.  Check the Mail > Preferences to see if a mouse preference appears for you.  There is not one for my MagicMouse but the secondary click, aka right click, for my Magic Mouse works fine in Mail.

  • Proxy.PAC file not working after upgrade to 10.9.2

I have a local proxy.pac file and it was working happily before 10.9.2.
It was loaded under "Network > Proxies > Automatic Proxy Configuration" and effective for all browsers (Chrome, Safari and Firefox).
After upgrade to 10.9.2 seems like it's being totally ignored. I have a CNTLM proxy in my machine and can see the traffic coming in. Looking at logs, no traffic really comes in and all browsers try to access internet directly.
If I set the proxy.pac directly in Firefox, it works but I want all my browsers and application. I want the same functionality as of 10.9.1 and before.

I submitted a bug report to Apple. The problem is present since 10.9.2, now with 10.10 and iOS. I hope they will take this problem seriously.

  • Removing firefox proxy settings does not work until a restart?

When I transfer from my work network (with a proxy server) to my home network (no server), I have to restart the browser before it realizes that there is no proxy server that it has to authenticate with. Until I do this, (re)loading pages gives me an error.
However, when going the other way, it smoothly recognises that there is a server, and no restart is required to continue browsing
I have automatic proxy settings enabled. I have tried selecting 'no proxy server', but I still need to restart firefox for this to work.

Please update to the current Firefox 22.0 release.

  • Bypassing proxy settings does not work

I can't manage to get my Mac to bypass the proxy settings. My bypass settings are:
    *.local, 169.254.0.0/16, localhost, 193.230/16, 192.168.0.0/24, 172.16.6.0/24
With these settings if I try to access 172.16.6.120, the server does not respond.
However if my settings look like this:
    *.local, 169.254.0.0/16, localhost, 193.230/16, 192.168.0.0/24, 172.16.6.0/24, 192.168.0.252, 172.16.6.120, 172.16.6.130

  • Setting IE Proxy from MDT2012 Not working

Im trying to predefine IE proxy setting during Win7 deployment from WDS2012
    I tried following this guide:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/deploymentguys/archive/2010/11/30/using-the-mdt-windows-update-tasks-in-image-engineering.aspx
using command line: cscript CFG-ProxySetting.wsf /Proxy:<Proxyname.company.com or IP Address>:<Port> /Exceptions:local
But it fails to execute giving an error code 0000001 if i remember right.
    i also tried cscript.exe "%SCRIPTROOT%\CFG-ProxySetting.wsf" /Proxy:proxy.address.local:8080 /Exceptions:local
    Anyone have any suggestions ?
(PS.  I dont want to set proxy with Group Policy because users need to be able to change it if necessary)

    Hi,
Have you tried using "netsh winhttp set proxy"?
    if "%1" == "" set /p PROXY= Enter Proxy?
    if "%1" NEQ "" set PROXY=%1
    echo %PROXY%
netsh winhttp set proxy %PROXY% "<local>"
    reg add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v ProxyEnable /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f
    reg add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v ProxyServer /t REG_SZ /d %PROXY% /f

  • WebDynpro applications not working through Reverse Proxy

    Hi All,
I have configured a Reverse Proxy using apache 2.2.4 and when i access my Portal (NW04s EP 7.0 SPS08) through reverse proxy i'm not able to display any webdynpro application (e.g. Identity Management). I'm getting Page can not be displayed. I think reverse proxy is not able to convert the request into absolute URLs.
If someone had the same problem, please let me know.
    Regards
    Vaib

I resolved the problem on my own by adding webdynpro directive to the httpd.conf.
    Thanx

  • Solution: iPad/iPhone Login issues with IIS as Reverse Proxy (Android and Windows Phone works)

    Hi,
I had issues with iPad/iPhone access from external and tried a lot. Now I found my solution I like to share.
I setup a IIS on Windows Server 2012 with ARR 2.5 and Android and Windows Phone could login but not iPad and iPhone.
The IIS Log on the reverse proxy showed:
    2013-02-26 12:03:31 <IP> POST /webticket/webticketservice.svc X-ARR-CACHE-HIT=0&X-ARR-LOG-ID=1996c8d7-09d0-4310-8da4-a8dfb7940e28 443 - <ClientIP> Lync%202010/1.6+CFNetwork/609+Darwin/13.0.0 - 401 0 0 124
    2013-02-26 12:03:31 <IP> POST /webticket/webticketservice.svc X-ARR-CACHE-HIT=0 443 - <ClientIP> Lync%202010/1.6+CFNetwork/609+Darwin/13.0.0 - 502 3 12018 93
First Request gets a 401 while anonymous. Second try would be with authentication but it never reached the internal front end server.
After I installed a fix for ARR
http://forums.iis.net/t/1195560.aspx/1?ARR+502+3+Bad+Gateway+0x80072ef2+2147954418+The+supplied+handle+is+the+wrong+type+for+the+requested+operation the Apple Devices could login.

    Hi,
This resolved our problem too!! So happy after 2 weeks of messing around with just about every setting recommended from all types of forums and rebuilding our reverse proxy I was at a loose end.
Our environment is Lync 2013 Enterprise, Lync 2013 Edge, IIS as Reverse Proxy on Server 2012 using ARR 2.5
We had Android and Windows clients working but no iOS devices at all. In the iOS log we were seeing
<h1>Server Error</h1></div><div id="content"> <div class="content-container"><fieldset> <h2>502 - Web server received an invalid response while acting as a gateway or proxy server.</h2> <h3>There is a problem with the page you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. When the Web server (while acting as a gateway or proxy) contacted the upstream content server, it received an invalid response from the content server.</h3> </fieldset></div></div></body></html>
When the client was trying to retrieve from the webticketservice.svc
    2013-04-11 17:19:44.659 Lync[4970:6c61000] INFO TRANSPORT TransportUtilityFunctions.cpp/907:<ReceivedResponse>
    POST https://lyncwebext.contoso.com/webticket/webticketservice.svc
    Request Id: 0x72cfc18
    HttpHeader:Content-Length 1477
    HttpHeader:Content-Type text/html
    HttpHeader:Date Thu, 11 Apr 2013 16:22:25 GMT
    HttpHeader:Server Microsoft-IIS/8.0
    HttpHeader:StatusCode 502
    Installed the HotFix from here:-
Hotfix for Microsoft Application Request Routing Version 2.5 for IIS7 (KB 2732764) (x64)
Rebooted the Reverse Proxy and iOS clients worked straight away for both Lync 2010 and Lync 2013 on both iPhone 5 and iPad both.
I hope this helps others as I was losing the plot :-)
    Cheers
    Sam
