Reversi Sample - "The project requires user input. Reload the project for more information."

A week ago, I downloaded the sample code examples.  Then I extracted the reverse sample code, loaded it and ran it.  All was well.
I was just using it as a resource for example code, so no code changes.  Now, when I open the project, I get nothing loaded.
Solution explorer displays       Solution 'Reversi' (0 Projects).    Below that
"The project requires user input.  Reload the project for more information."
This message shows for all three sections  Reversi, ReversiGameComponet, and ReversiComponentTests.
Ok, so I figure I must have accidently changed something.  So, I re-extract.  Same message.
The only thing I can think of is that in the options, I changed the startup location for my projects.  I like to keep my code projects on the d: drive, so I changed that to D:\!!!W8.  I've always done this so that when I create a new project,
it does it in my project directory by default.  Didn't change anything else such as the templates dir.
I did set this back to the c:....projects, as where templates are, but that didn't help.  So, I reset to my projects directory.
My project that I created loads ok.
Suggestions?

Hi there,
Can you provide the link for the sample code example so I can download and try on my machine?

  • Manipulate the value of User Input Variable

    Dear BI fellows,
    I have a requirement to change the value that the user entered in variable screen (the variable type is a characteristic value variable, w/ processing by: user input), after the user clicks the execute button.
    I tried creating 2 characteristic value variables, one w/ processing by: user input, to receive input from user, and the other one w/ processing by: user exit, which takes the value entered in the first variable and manipulate it, and eventually use this second variable to restrict data in the query.
    But the problem is, the first variable must be associated w/ any characteristic in the query, and it eventually restricts data in query as well, which I don't want.
    Thanks alot in advance.
    regards,
    arie

    I browsed further on SDN and found someone mentioned about using variable in Restricted Key Figure/Selection, and eventually hide this Restricted Key Figure/Selection.
    So we just make use of the first variable to receive user input and use the second variable w/ processing by: user exit to take value in first variable, manipulate it and use it to restrict the data.
    The first variable doesnu2019t restrict the data, it only restricts for that particular key figure (Restricted Key Figure/Selection) which I then hide it.
    Another thing is, I found that variable in Characteristic Restriction is executed first before variable in Restricted Key Figure/Selection.
    Thanks all.
    regards,
    arie

  • Require User Input for either dashboard prompts not BOTH ! !

    Fellow Earthlings,
    How to make required for user input for either of dashboard prompts not BOTH. !!!!!!
    Like if they enter '123' on DashP1 they need not have to enter DashP2 value and vice versa on same dashboard prompt.
    I have some dashboard prompts and I am using presentation variables to pass these values to my analysis.
    DashP1 - Pvar1 - Default All columns - User can type in values
    DashP2 - Pvar2 - Default All columns - User can type in values
    In my report , I am using a SQL filter to do a table.column_name LIKE (concat('@Pvar1}{'%')) same for the other table.column_name LIKE (concat('@Pvar2}{'%')) [ This is because users want to do a partial match on the value.
    So when the user is typing the values like 123 on DashP1 they are able to search, which is good. However on DashP2 which defaulted to all column values, they just erase/delete that and pass no value to it. So it remains the prompt vlaue is looking like -Select Value state which is not good. :(
    Now when there report is run for that DashP1 -value as '123' obviously we get no results since erasing that is causing it not to pass any value and when i check the query log it passes '@Pvar2'. This is causing no results.
    So I thought making it Required user input would resolve the issue, however the new request is to have either DashP1 or DashP2 require user input.
    Please advice if there a way to solve this problem.
    If this any way possible with Action links or any other methods.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    VidyaS

    Hi Vidya, Please post that Script it will be quite handy for other OTN users.

  • How can I make my user input on the same line as the question?

    The only way I know of doing it is
    System.out.println ("Please enter an uppercase letter of the English Alphabet: ");
              letter = dataIn.readLine ();But that makes Please enter an uppercase letter of the English Alphabet:
    **User input here, a line down**So how can I make it all fit into one line with this sort of layout:
    Please enter an uppercase letter of the English Alphabet:  **USER INPUTS HERE, SAME LINE**

    change your call from println to print.
    check the API docs for this stuff, it tells you everything you need to know.
    Good Luck

    }

    You may have working code now, but the code you posted is horrible and I'm going to tell you a much much much better approach for the JDBC part. (You should probably isolate your database code from your user interface code as well, but I'm skipping over that structural problem...)
    Do this instead:
        public void getData(String a){
            PreparedStatement p;
            String strQuery = "select count(*) the_count from customer where id = ?";
            try {
             //create a prepared statement object to execute sql statements, it's better, faster, safer
             p = c.prepareStatement(strQuery);
                // bind the parameter value to the "?"
                p.setInt(1, Integer.parseInt(a) );
                //execute the query
                ResultSet rs = p.executeQuery( );
                // if the query doesn't throw an exception, it will have exactly one row
                rs.next();
                System.out.println("i am testing");
                if (rs.getInt("the_count") > 0 ) {
                // it's there, do what you need to...
             else
                  JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,"I could not find the value");
            catch (SQLException e) {
                 // JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,"You may enter wrong id");
                 // if you get an exception, something is really wrong, and it's NOT user error
            // always, always, ALWAYS close JDBC resources in a finally block
            finally
                p.close();
        }First, this is simpler and easier to read.
    Second, this retrieves just the needed information, whether or not the id is in the database. Your way will get much much slower as more data goes into the database. My way, if there is an index on the id column, more data doesn;t slow it down very much.
    I've also left some important points in comments.
    No guarantees that there isn't a dumb typo in there; I didn't actually compile it, much less test it. It's at least close though...

  • Read the value of user input variable during calculation of virtual char

    Hello
    Virtual characteristics is populated in custom BAPI based on values specified by user in the variable screen.
    How to read the value of user input variable outside the user exit for custom variables?
    The one way is to create faked user exit variable, read the value of user input variable in corresponding FM and insert it into table. Then value of this variable will be derived from the table.
    Thanks

  • User input in the middle of the loop

    How can I take user input in the middle of the loop and execute the rest of the loop?
    FOR .. LOOP
    User input…………;
    Update with User input;
    END LOOP;
    Thanks in advance.
    Edited by: Oracle_Power on Jul 29, 2009 11:36 AM

    Forms has no mechanism like that where you can prompt the user for input.
    An Alert is the closest thing, but alerts only accept three button pushes; no keyboard input is allowed.
    If you describe what you need, someone might help you redesign your code so it appears to act like a looping process.
    Edit: Thanks Andreas, your suggestion below is a good solution.

  • MacBook Pro with SSD that has a limited disk space (120GB). Rendering in Project File (User/Movies/Final Cut Projects), it takes huge space and the limited disk space would not be enough for the whole editing.

    I'm using MacBook Pro with 128GB SSD that has a limited disk space. As we know, when rendering in Project File (User/Movies/Final Cut Projects), it takes huge space and the limited disk space would not be enough for the whole editing.
    My question is, Is there any method to get the rendering Projects file saved into an external hard drive which is connected with USB/ Thunderbolt/ Firewire, with huge disk space (eg. 500GB HDD).
    Now, new project created in my Mac is automatically saved in (User/Movies/Final Cut Projects) and my Mac has ran out of space to hold the files.
    Thank you.

    You have at least 3 different ways to show the project library:
    1) Go to WIndow->Show Project Library
    2) Click the button in bottom left of your window:
    3) Hit the keyboard shortcut (Command-0)
    The project library will be shown, occupying the area where the timeline usually is.
    Your hard disks will be visible. Click the hard disk where you want the new project to reside and hit Cmd-N to create a new project.

    Hi Arun,
         The word Form misleads you i think so its not Form. Jspx only.
         I have created a small sample application using HR database.
         Created CountriesEO using countries table.
         Created Countries.jspx, in that created one filterable table using CountriesVO.
         Run the Countries.jspx page is rendered on the Browser.
         Now if I do any change say for Ex: Given editingMode="editAll" to the Table Save and
         now come to the page already Running on the Browser and applied Filter for
         Country Name column this Error comes.
         1. Are you running the App in Debug mode? -- In Both Run & Debug Modes it comes.
         2. Is there any backing bean for the jspx page? -- no backing Bean created.

    Hi,
    I am developing a utility for multiple file upload. I am getting some error here. First i want to explain my case.
    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.7,
    InputFile Properties:  maximumFiles="150"    uploadType="auto"
    web.xml change:  org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.UPLOAD_MAX_DISK_SPACE =5368709120   (For 5GB)

                                    org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.CLIENT_STATE_MAX_TOKEN = 3
                                    session time out = 30 minute
    Here when i am uploading upto 5 files its working fine but when i am selecting more than 15 files its always coming below error.

  • Restrict the number of users logging onto the JAVA engine

    hi
    IS it possible to restrict the number of users logging on the JAVA Engine, if YES, how ?
    Thanks
    Jonu Joy

    Thanks for the replies, here's a little more info...
    We're working on project which allows a company to buy user licenses to access our portal.  So if a company has bought 5 licenses, the 6th user for that company will not be able to login.
    *Note: We treat each Access Key in the portal as a company.
    The way we determine if the user belongs to a company is by the AccessKey that is assigned to that user. We're not depending on IP addresses at all.
    Hope this clears the issue !
    I think we'll have to write some custom code to accomplish this.
    Thanks,

  • Has the firmware upgrade on the time capsule been fixed to allow iphones on the wireless network?  I reloaded the previous firmware edition and it fixed the problem.  thx

    I checked beofre on the support communities when I was having trouble with the iphone 4 not being able to connect to the time capsule wireless after upgradeing the firmware.  When I reloaded the previous firmware version, the iphone wireless problem was gone.  Now the time capsule is asking to upgrade to that same newer version of firmware.
    I don't want to do it until the iphone 4 wireless connection problems have been addressed.  thanks

    ......will other users on the primary network (not the private wifi one) be able to access my files on my TCapsule?
    No, if you have not provided them with the Time Capsule device password.
    Users will be able to "see" the Time Capsule icon under the SHARED heading in the Finder on their Macs, but they will not be able to access the drive or the files.
    I had also been thinking about wirelessly extending the wifi network (a linksys N router) but I guess that will allow everyone to access my Time Capsule?
    Same answer as above.
