Rework and Scrap!

Hi Guys,
In my client's place, we do not have a special rework order, I am planning on inserting a new operation in the production order where rework is needed. But I want to manually input the rework quantity. For expample: I have a production order of qty 10, and it has 5 operations assigned. Now, after 3rd operation, I decide to insert a rework operation with control key PP01 for qty 2. How can I do this? The system is automatically taking in qty 10.
Can anyone please tell me how to handle this?

For Rework operation u can use PP07 control key which will allow u to enter the qty u need.
Following note will explain further abt the rework control key:
This indicator defines that the following objects describe the execution ofrework if they have the selected control key:
in the areas quality management (QM) and production planning (PP): operations.
in the areas plant maintenance (PM) and production planning - process industry (PP-PI) this indicator is ignored.
The operation quantity of a rework operation is not determined automatically.
It can either be
entered in the operation manually or
taken over using a trigger point function from the confirmation (field rework).
Dependencies
No automatic goods receipt can take place for the rework quantity. You must manually post the goods receipt for the quantity successfully reworked.
A rework operation is not taken into account when scheduling task lists.

We can see the yield stock in storage location but how/where to see the stock After entering the rework and scarp quantity in confirmation.
Can I transfer this stock from one storage location to another storage location?

Hi,
The scrap quantity entered during the confirmation cant be seen. SAP treats this quantity as lost (process losses) and cant be recovered.
And regarding rework, a rework order has to be triggered to further process (re-work) the quantity. So this quantity goes to the rework order (similar to GI to production order) and its not in any storage location. Once the re-work order is completed then the reworked quantity can be received in the storage location.

Rework and scrap note generation

hi friends,
i want to generate scrap and rework notes to be generated while doing in process inspection with reference to which the shop floor peoplle will create a production order for rework or post the quantity to the scrap store.
here while doing quality inspection in inprocess operation ie. result recording , we will find defects but how to list them as scrap or rework quant as we are not putting anu usage decession UD for inprocess inspection?
please suggest how to generate notes for scrap/rework.

hi,
while result recording time, if you find scrap then call defects recording from the page itself , enter the defects and create a notification with type F3. In notification you mention the task , and action to be taken (assign high priority)and send it to the users directly .
once they can receive the message , they will create the rework order.

Wow, just posting and it seems that there is a solution that is working for me...
What I've did is I turned off iTunes Match on my iPhone, then turned in on again. Now in my iTunes library on my mac I can get the duplicates to be matched or uploaded to iCloud with a right-click, add to iCloud. iTunes Match starts to check the songs and everything is done correctly. Pretty nice!

Customer exit for changing order quantiy and scrap quantiy in MD11?

Parameters for Yield and Scrap quantities in BAPI MB_CREATE_GOODS_MOVEMENT

Hi All,
I am using BAPI MB_CREATE_GOODS_MOVEMENT and MB_POST_GOODS_MOVEMENT to carry out the confirmation and Unplanned Goods Reciept.
Which parameters in MB_CREATE_GOODS_MOVEMENT i have to use for passing Yield and Scrap quantities.
And from which table i can fetch the Material for the Order? Can i use AFKO for the material number.
Please give some inputs on how to use these Function Modules.
Can i use only MB_CREATE_GOODS_MOVEMENT for the confirmation.

By product and scrap in SC?

SOme body explain me about the difference between the byproduct and scrap in subcontracting process.
In which kind scenario these both will come in SC process.

in SAP point of view of both are same .
But business process point of view it diiffers according to the industries
By product:
To make material A , we have to process material C and D . Apart from A , we get the by product E ,which woud be used for other purpose .
eg:Chemical ,pharmaceutical industries
To make SOAP we have to mix Oil and soda . along with soap ,we gets glycerine as a byproduct.
Scrap:
This is mainly in mechanical industries.
For when you make bolt,you will get some scrap ,this you can sell it.
SAP point of view
1.if the scrap/by product known in advance ,it should me maintained as negative in the BOM
2. if you want to maintain inventory for that scrap/by product ,use appropriate material type like ROH
3. if it is non-valuated/non-stock ,maintain it accordingly in the BOM
Inventory movement
1.Move type 545 O used by the system to generate scrap/by prodect and it is still *stock of material provided to vendor *
2. To get into our plant use move type 542.
3.Under consumption means in scrap ,it is over generated than in the BOM .system uses mov type 545 O +
4.over consumption means ,it is less generated compared to BOM qty,system uses move type 546 O -

Under Delivery Tolerance and Scrap

Dear Experts,
I have a business that would like the under deliver tolerance on their production orders to include scrap quantities. The business uses production orders in more of a make to stock type of environment. The example is below. Any idea if it is possible to get the under delivery tolerance to include scrap quantities?
Example:
Production order is for 100 total and scrap is for 10 pieces. Under delivery tolerance is 15%. In the current system the production order will not set to status closed / delivered until there is 85 pieces of good production reported. The business would like the order to get status closed / delivered if 85 pieces of good or scrap are reported.

A little confused with your example;

if 85 pieces of good or scrap are reported.
The example states an order will get delivered status when 85 pieces are delivered and then in the last line it also states business wants the status to be delivered if 85 is delivered, is this a typo? If not can you please clarify a little more on the need?

Milestone confirmation and scrap operation

Good morning :o)
I created a new Control Key u2018ZMILu2019 which is a direct copy from our standard control key u2018PP01 u2013 Automatic Goods Receiptu2019 but with the Milestone Confirmation indicator set.
I then created a new routing for material X, added 2 operations:
0010 u2013 V1 u2013 PP02 (No Auto GR)
0030 u2013 V1 u2013 ZMIL (Auto GR + Milestone) (I made a mistake and had to delete 0020, hence 0030)
I then processed a confirmation against 0030 and all looked fine, it back-flushed the correct material and attracted the correct costs to the MAC/LAB activities assigned against each operation.
I then processed a scrap confirmation against operation 0010, it correctly issued another 261 for the appropriate back-flush material/qty but it didnu2019t attract any extra activity cost for the quantity posted in the confirmation, do you know why this is? I assume itu2019s likely a setting against control key ZP02?

OK after some testing I have found the following:
If I scrap via CO11N everything is updated as required but if I go via the SAP console (LM01) and scrap the product I find the following:
Running transaction CO14, I see the scrap Qty, if I then go into details I can see the Qty has been updated but the activities have not!!
If I scrap with CO11N and follow the above process the activities are being updated against the scrap qty value.
A little lost on this one, any ideas would be appreciated.

Rework and reuse of components

I have following scenario , need your views and guidance for configuring the same.
We are using production orders. The process has got rejections. Rejected materials are moved to repair area.The components which can be reused, are taken back to production.If the rejection is because of machine defect, the same is scrapped , else the product is sent back to vendors.
Large amount of machine scrap is generated during operation, is collected and sold out.
Please let me know the consideration used for configuring the above scenario.

As I understood the scenario
You produce product A using B an C.
When you prodiuce 100 TO, let us say 20 got rejected.
20 pieces are taken to repair shop. After analysis you found that 5 are because of
machine fault and 15 because of vendormaterial fault and will be sent back to vendor for replacement. The rest 5 peises are dismantled and the component B and C are sent back to stores for reuse.
If the case is so,
then proceed as below
Activate QM in material master with insp type - 04
Create a production order for 100.
Confirm the qty for 100 and fo the GR.
System will create a inspection lot.
let us say 80 pieces are good other 20 pieces are rejected, in the results recording create a notification in which you mention defect qty is 20.
In notification processing analyse the qty which are to be sent back to vendor and which are to be scrapped.
Cose the notification and do the UD, in UD stoclk posting post the stock of 80 to unrestricted stock, 5 to scrap and 10 to blocked stock.
Create a rework order in CO07 - Without Material refereing to the original order and issue the main material from blocked stock and make a by product (B and C) and do byproduct GR to stock (B and C) and issue the main prodeuct from blocked stock.

MCSI report for actual/normal sales and scrap scales

Hi all,
How do i can configure sales value and net value of the Scrap sales should be Zero in MCSI report(SIS)? because its not a actual/normal sales so it should not appear in the MCSI report or it should show Zero values and For Actual/normal sales MCSI report should show exact values as per the transation captured by the system.
Please explain me in terms of Tables and fields and Configuration settings need to be changed in Pricing Procedure.

Material to material stock transfer with batch management and scrap

Here i have an requirement that
Raw Material A maintained in Batches. Raw Material B is also maintained in batches. A and B are used in two different finished products.A and B are with the same material properties except the size. that is Size of B is half of A.
Now some times if B material is not readily available in the stores then A is cut into two halves and then material to material Transfer posting need to be carried out.
Now while cutting A into two pieces there may be chances of scrap .so how to address the scrap in SAP.
How to map this Scenario in SAP

Would like to suggest the following: Basing on your client requirements and existing business scenarios following, not sure how far will be suits this.
Since both materials are same except the size,
In case of shortage of material B, material A used by cutting its size in to half.
In this case, issue material A to production cost center as it is (i.e in its original size). Using movement type 201.
Once transferred to production, can carry out the cutting in half and here consider the scrap and post the scrap using 551 Q movement.
I think no need for transfer material to material in this case.

RG1 FOR DAMAGES AND SCRAP

my client transfers the finished glass( updated in RG1 register) to the printing section where around 10% of the material is damaged and the damaged is sent back for processing as ROH.
How the RG1 for the updated is removed from the register)

It is not possible to remove the RG1 register update, but we can avail the utilised ED by following way.
In J1iex capture&post the excise invoice without refering to purchase order for the quantity of material damaged/scrapped.
while doing in item 0001 tab give the material and change the material type from finished goods to rawmaterial.
Enter the duty values and other datas post it in the (RG23A)register it will showned as availed ED. The duty utlised during sales for the material is availed bcak in the register after you made it as scrap/waste.
This is according to my concept.

Order confirmation and scrap gene in SL

In Production Process - Two type sof scrap generate
1. planned - which is maintained in BOm and update with 531 mvt type
2. Unplanned - which is booked in scrap field while doing Confirmation. Suppose my Order material Y broke on the way/while doing maching etc , it is booked in the field Scrap while doing confirmation. ( No where found in Inventory)
here case 2 , that scrap mat F(physically happned during prod process) is also sold . So an alternative method mentioned was with 501 will update scrap material F and ref made as Prd Order Number(order mat Y).
It is fine , some how it meets the business req.BUt now they want with ref to confirmation But confrimation field is not avilable in Display screen for 501.
I know 501 is not for this , but for the business [purpose it was mapped like this .
551 will update o cost centre and not in INV
So kindly help me to upload the scrap with 501 with Production confirmation and not with Production Order

Raise Dummy production order i.e with out material in CO07 T-code, put total qty as 1,if u want to settle the order put settlement rule if not simply come back and go to Component over view and put Material (Srap Material ) and give required qty in minus sign
EX:-10qty. put item categery as L
save the order and do conformation in co11n the stock will build in inventary

Best way to recreate all live assets in SAP and scrap current assets

We have a situation where we have to recreate all (15000) our assets as new assets. We will have to create new assets, provide new acquisition value and new useful life and start depreciating them from scratch. Also we will have to dispose all the current assets.
What is the best way to accomplish this:-
1) I was thinking to write a BDC program for AS01 transaction to create new assets and in the text field, give a reference to old assets.
For Balances transfer, use transaction FB01 or F-91.
*2) Use BDC to map transaction AS91 and add in value there. Although this is not transferring from legacy data but only in SAP. Will these current assets be considered as legacy data. Is this transaction feasible to use.*
Also, what transaction can I use for mass asset data scrapping of current assets
