Rfc adapter restart

Hi gurus,
how can i restart the RFC adapter in NWA?
Kind Regards,
PM

Hi Peter,
From NWA, go to Operation Management -> Systems -> Start & Stop -> Java EE Services -> Java System Properties
-> "Services" tab, or even "Applications" and look for the RFC adapter.
There you can Stop and Start.

  • RFC to XML-RFC Parsing issue in RFC Adapter as Sender

    Hi all,
I tried to use RFC adapter as a sender. The scenario I am trying to achieve is R3 -> RFC Adapter Sender --> BPM --> RFC Adapter Receiver --> SAP Auto-ID system.
The reason to use two RFC adapter and BPM is to log the request message if the RFC call fails. Everything works as expected, except the RFC Adapter Sender.
The RFC I am calling has an input table. The input data I use works fine if I call it via SE37 or remotely from another SAP system. However, if I call it via RFC adapter, when XI parses the data into RFC-XML format, the input data is all messed up.

The calling system is a 4.6C non-unicode system, and the destination system is a unicode system (this does not matter since the first part of the integration is between R3 and XI). There is no config found on R3 side to specify non-unicode because it is a rather old system. In XI RFC Adapter config, I checked non-unicode checkbox (I also tested it with this unchecked, but still the same issue).
Have any of you seen this problem and how you resolve it?
Thanks a lot for your help!
    Regards,
    Hart

    Hi Hart
long time no seen - hope you remember me
    >The reason to use two RFC adapter and BPM is to log the request message if the RFC call fails
there is an easy way (guess max 3-4 hours) to solve all of your issues
and get rid of a BPM
use IDOC - XI - ABAP Proxy
then you will have IDOC and ABAP Proxy that always log the message on both ends (and you can restart ABAP proxies easily in AII - and every AII supports ABAP proxies) + you get rid of a BPM as it's not necessary as far as I understand (as it's asyn communication right?)
maybe you can go this way and IDOCs always work...
    good luck,

  • RFC Adapter issue

    Hi,
I have a strange behavior from the RFC adapter.
When I submit from a report data via RFC to XI, everything works. If I try it a second time, the RFC call fails. Also a RFC connection test to XI fails.
After restarting the RFC Adapter in the Visual Admin, I can execute the scenario for another time. A second time fails then again.
    Does someone know this problem?

    Hi Michal,
changed the param initialRfcClientConnectCheck to false. Restart the RFC Adatpter, but I am still facing the same problem.
Sometimes I am facing connection problems with LCRSAPRFC, too. Sometime a connection test is successful, sometimes not.
The error I get is: "CPIC-CALL: ThSAPCMRCV no data received". After a view tries it works again - but for not very long.

  • RFC -File Sync Async bridge RFC Adapter Exception

    Hi
I am using sync async bridge to send a response back to rfc.
Although there is no error in sxmb_moni as well as the auditlog shows that the response was sent successfully to rfc.. still the RFC adapter gives the following error with no response sent to RFC..
Error in processing caused by: com.sap.aii.af.rfc.RfcAdapterException: failed to identify XML document:java.lang.Exception: javax.xml.parsers.FactoryConfigurationError: Provider com.sap.engine.lib.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl not found
    please help

    Solved the problem..
The problem could be due to the following..
    1. the response structure was just a single character..while i was sending a whole string..
    2. I restarted the server...probably the problem
    javax.xml.parsers.FactoryConfigurationError: Provider com.sap.engine.lib.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl not found
system property must have set mismatch for the SAXFactoryImpl.... by deploying modules before in which i was using SAX parser.. may be the i set the system property earlier to other provider dont remember...
Hope this information will be useful to someone in future using Sync/Async bridge

  • How to enable viewing of payload for receiver RFC adapter in RWB

    HI All,
We can see the payload of all adapters in RWB by clicking on the message link under component >> adapter monitoirng. However when i click on message link for receiver RFC adapter, it does not show any payload. How can I enable this payload?
    Regards

    Hey
Sync messages are Cached rather than persisted in RWB to save memory.
You need to change the following parameter in Visual admin to see sync messages in RWB
    Service SAP XI AF Messaging:
    messaging.syncMessageRemover.removeBody = false
its set to True by default hence it does not stores the messages.
You may have to restart the Java stack after the changes (but first try without restarting the Java stack).
    Thanks
    Aamir
Pl:You will see the sync messages in Message Monitoring in RWB (not sure if it will show up in Communication channel monitoring as well)

  • Why is the RFC Adapter so unstable

    Hi all,
I have a scenario where an IDOC is sent from the sender system and an RFC enabled Function Module is called on the target system. Sometimes I get an error in the Adapter for no aparent reason. I check the RFC adapter trace file but none of the exceptions was raised and I am not able to see what was the problem.
But, if I restart the RFC Adapter and send the IDOC again, everything's allright. Why? Is there any other trace avilable somewhere? Is there any way to restart the RFC Adapter periodically and automatically?
    Thanks and regards,
    Nuno

This sounds like a bizarre scenario.  Why would a Idoc (asynchronous) be calling an RFC (synchronous)?
Unless the RFC is doing update?  Then you have more problems.  You are mixing your QoS from EO to BE.  The delivery is no longer guaranteed.  The posting to the RFC could work but XI may not get the acknowledgement - RFC adapter does not do commit so you must have a commit in the remote function.  If no acknowledgement is received, do you resend and risk duplicate updates?  How do you guarantee EO delivery?  The sender system is right in expecting EO for it's outbound Idoc.
In all the training material RFC is intended for data retrieval, not data posting.  This is consistently done with Idoc (EO, or EOIO).
I would consider changing the scenario to Idoc->xi->Idoc.

    Hi,
    check out these:
    1) SM59 - test connection
    2) look all the parameters of Receiver RFC adapter configuration
        Proper authentication details etc
    3) Save the RFC adapter channel and activate the same
    4) Refresh the cache for the Adapter metadata. Go to Integration BuilderAdmin>Cache Overview-->Directory -->Adapter Metadata
    5) Probably the problem may be becuase of RFC Adapter is not active. Restarting the RFC adapter at J2EE admin level may solve your problem
    Hope this helps,

  • RFC adapter minpoolsize

Anyone, who knows how to set the minimum number of connections for an RFC adapter?
In communcation channel in the integration builder of the RFC adapter you can set the maximum number of connection - I wonder if you are able to set the minimum number of connection as well.
I can see in the log file that a minpoolsize is set in com.sap.aii.af.rfc.core.config.RfcConfigManager.parseCommonCPAConfig - but if I try to set this as an advanced paramter in the communication channel it is not taken into account.

    Hi Rajeev,
The Integration server option for Adapter Engine in any Adapter means that we are using Adapter Engine installed in the Integration Server. The concept you explained is correct. But the way we choose in channel configuration is different.............:)

  • FILE-RFC ADAPTER problem

    Hi all,
I am trying file->xi->rfc adapter scenario.
My scenario is employee information is written to flat file n  will be kept on ftp server.THe file adapter will pickup the file and sends it to rfc adapter through pipeline service.
This is going well. The problem is the data is not being updated into receiving sap system.
in SXMB_MONI transaction the messages are successully processed . But there are no messges in rfc adapter when i gone through idx5 transaction???
    Any one have idea??
    Thanks in advance.
    Rgds,
    Ram Sri

sxmb_moni only shows the status of the integration engine's processing, not the result of what happened in the rfc call.  First, you can check if the adapter framework successfully passed the message to the destination system (not on moni, thru RWB)
as far as did the rfc succeed - it's as difficult as always with internal processing.  We did a lot of testing by debugging modules on the destination side (manually putting in the data as the adapter would've to step thru & see where the message is "lost") - have not yet found a better way, sorry.  It's not so much a problem with XI, just in general the difficulty to debug rfc's

  • Receiver RFC adapter issue! Please help!

    Hi Experts,
I have 4 XI interfaces. All of these are Webservice to RFC scenarios. Moreover all of them are synchronous.
Request message: Webservice (SOAP Adapter) ---> XI -
    > RFc Adapter ---> ECC Function modules
Response message: Webservice (SOAP Adapter) <- XI < RFc Adapter <- ECC Function modules
As you can see above, external system calls XI web service via SOAP Adapter. The input data is then sent from SOAP Adapter to RFC adapter to call RFC function module in the receiving side.  The receiving system is SAP ECC system.
The receiver ECC system has two instances. For example SP0 ad SP1.
In the receiver determination step we have maintained a rule such that if the Plant value in the input message is XYZ then send data to SP0. But if the plant value in ABC then send data to SP1.
This Conditional rule is working fine.
However we are getting couple of issues with only one instance of ECC (SP0).

I have verified the input data and everything is OK with that.
