RFCs sequence from MII to ERP

Hi!
MII 12.1.7
Inside one transaction there are 3 JCo Functions, calling SAP native BAPIs, following strictly each other:
1. Consumption of material by the Production Order
2. Material issue from the Production Order
3. Confirmation of the Production Order
Each call have the same schema: Start Session - Function - Commit - End Session. The properties of Function and Session actions are default (RFC Type = Best Effort, Processing Type = Synchronous Processing, Pool Connections = true)
When MII makes Confirmation BAPI call it returns error that order is processed by MII user, despite that previous BAPI call was succesfull and returned correct data. The same error occurs if I try to put all Functions inside one Session block.
Another case: when first BAPI creates Planeed Order and second creates Production Order from planned one - second BAPI says that planned order ###, that was returned by first BAPI, does not exist.
I solved this problem only by putting Pause action between these calls, but I hope there is some better way to deal with this problem. Is there?
Is there any way to force next BAPI  to "wait" untill data modified by previous BAPI will become actual in ERP and not blocked by MII itself? Can it be managed with Function and Session properties?
Thanks!
Best Regards
Petr

3 points that could help here-
1) To reduce locks in Material Movements-
Try testing with transaction OMJI (test with 'Late exclusive lock'
settings)
Notes 70865 and 322989 contain interesting information on locks in
MM-IM. Transaction OMJI allow to set a late exclusive lock in order
to reduce the time that the material master data is locked.
2)
You could also automate the goods movements and post
Everything you are doing here with the confirmation posting via
backflush and auto Goods receipt.
When goods movements are posted linked with a confirmation they are what
We Call de-coupled. This means they get posted seperately to the confirmation
In the update task, Note 208477 explains this about the decoupled process.
It is very common to get locks during goods movement processing and the error
Handling of confirmation handles this eliminating the need for any manual
processing, a regularly scheduled run of the program
CORUPROC clears up any errors that arose out of lock situations.
There is settings for when the movements are updated set in the process control
Assigned to the confirmation parameters in transaction OPK4, the definition on the
Type of processing is transaction OPKC however these have no effect with bapi
Postings (back to note 208477)
Also different processes such as batch determination, classification and derivation
can slow down GM postings, if the runtime due to these occuring during GM posting
is an issue try to perform it in the order (see production schediling profile OPKP/CORY)
3)
Use the wait parameter in the commit bapi BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT
and ensure to commit after each bapi call.
Kind Regards
Eoin

  • RFC call from MII using JCO

    Hi All,
I am calling custom function module from MII using JCO and I am facing one problem. Problem is that if any new field is added in function module in ECC side that is not appearing in RFC structure until we restart the MII server. Can anybody provide any solution. I am using MII 12.1 SP5.
    Thanks in Advance
    Chandan

I faced this same issue. Only one solution is to reset the JCo Proxy by running following URL in the same MII server
    http://<MII Server>/XMII/JCOProxy?mode=reset
This will reset the JCo cache and the new added fields in RFC at SAP end will be reflected in the Request/Response xml structure of the RFC in BLS

  • Invoke MII Transaction thru RFC Call from SAP

    Hi,
We want to get the data from Oracle DB table thru MII (12.0.2).
We need to use RFC call from SAP to MII.
Is it possible to invoke the MII transaction thru RFC by setting in Message Listener?
We have used iDoc messages but not tried with RFC.
    How to do that?
    Regards,
    Senthil

I feel MII doesn't have anything equivalent to RFC in ECC. You may try web services in an ABAP program
Hope the article below helps you

  • Best way to recieve Datas from MII in SAP

    Hi everybody,
We are discussing which way is the best to get data to SAP when SAP is the initiator.
We tesed RFC but it looks like that if I call a transaction in MII as a rfc I can only send data and it is not possible to recieve data in this way. Can somebody confirm that?
To send data to MII we usually use IDOCs when SAP is the initiator.
To send data to SAP we usually use rfc when MII is the initiator.
To send data to MIIwe usually use rfc when MII is the initiator
But what can we use if we want to send data to SAP and SAP is the initiator?
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards,
    Matthias

    Hi,
    thanks for your quick answer.
Is it possible to use an rfc in ABAP-Code and recieve data?
I think this is not possible.
    Our Business-case:
A user starts an SAP-Programm (e.g. custom transaction) where he has some informations to a machine.
In this program we also want to see data from MII.
it should be something like this in ABAP-code:
    CALL FUNCTION mii_transaction DESTINATION mii_dest
                         parameter_list.
But I read in a help-file that it is only possible to send information not to recieve. Is this correct?
Or is it also possible to recieve data from mii like this (in parameter_list)?
    Regards,
    Matthias

  • How to transfer hierarchy level 1 or level 2  in Contract from CRM to ERP?

    Hi, Pro,
I face a requirement that hierarchy in contract transfer from CRM to ERP by RFC, but the material number what we wanna to entry are maintained in hierarchy 3. Therefore after you entry the hierarchy 1 or 2 that not 3, it occur an error warning stop the process.
Since I test manual entry a hierarchy by added a character '*" behind, it save and successfully archived that can using hierarchy 1, 2 and 3. I thought I solved the problem. But our ERP source is from CRM, so  the only confuse me is that  it can not transfer character '*' from crm to erp when it accour error like can match the hierarchy '12345*' .
Pls help me solve this solution.
    Thanks a lot.

I am using the bapi BAPI_CONTRACT_CREATEFROMDATA and BAPI_CUSTOMERCONTRACT_CHANGE.

  • RFCs calling from remote systems

    Hello Abapers,
Can anyone tell me how to find the list of programs which are calling remote function modules? For example programs in CRM system calling function modules in ECC...
    Thanks,
    Himadama

    Hi,
this is only ardly possible depending on your goal.
There are lots of RFC calls especially in CRM for middleware purposes.
Option a) - You try to find all pla ces where z*modules are called that are not existing in CRM
Option b) - You want to find all RFC enabled modules of ERP called in  CRM
Option c) - You want to find all RFC calls in CRM targeting the defaulting ERP destination
    Solution for  a)
    - Go to table WBCROSS (which is global the "where used list")
and check for all Z* modules
    - Copy the list of modules e.g. in a file
    - Search table trdir (registry of function modules) with this list
-> all modules that are not in this list are probably RFC modules from a backend
    Solution for  b)
    - Go to ERP SE37 and open the help
    - open the advanced options
    - mark "RFC modules"
    - search and save the whole list of RFCs relevant
    - Go to CRM and check table WBCROSS where these modules are used
    Solution for  c)
    - go to CRM and check for a module called "SMOFERP" or similar
It returns the name of the default RFC destination of an CRm system to its default ERP.
    - Check the where used list of this module - should guide you close to the calls

  • Error reading the standard sequence from the document tables

    Hi PM Experts,
    Please help!
Recently SAP patching is carried out in our R/3 environments. Before patching, all our customized RFCs were working correctly.
We are using BAPI ''BAPI_ALM_ORDER_GET_DETAIL'  in a RFC.  After the patching, the version date  of  the BAPI ''BAPI_ALM_ORDER_GET_DETAIL'   is changed to new date of patching.
Now, when we are calling the customized RFC,  ''BAPI_ALM_ORDER_GET_DETAIL'  is returning an error  'Error reading the standard sequence from the document tables'.
This comes when we are pasiing any order with Order type 'ZM02' ( Maintenance Order - Preventative). It is working absolutely fine with Order Type ZM01(Maintenance Order - In Hours Opex).
Sometime, when RFC is run individually, it works fine with same data and sometime it is throwing this error with the same data. Very Inconsistent.
Please advice whether patching is the reason.
    Any advice..is welcomed.
    Many Thanks,

  • Automatically printing labels from MII V12

    Hi there,
We have a requirement that when a button is pushed on the MII page, we automatically print label(s) to a Zebra printer without any further user interaction.  I.E.  The operator clicks to confirm completion of an operation, and a label prints out as part of the transaction.  The transaction does not always communicate with the ERP system, so the labels must be automatically printed from MII.
    Has anyone done this?
There are really two questions here.
    1.  How to print to a Zebra printer
    2.  How to have the MII transaction automatically print
    Thanks,
    --Amy Smith
    --Haworth

    This thread might help.
[/thread/216673 [original link is broken]|/thread/216673 [original link is broken]]
We have done printing from xMII to Zebra printers using similar methods wrapped in a custom action, as well as using our own device integration platform. The only issue with the above method is its ends up OS dependant, and requires the printers to be configured on the server.
I dont know the scope of your needs, but a product like bartender may be appropriate. It would allow you to print by just writing a data file to a directory.
There are ways to talk directly to Zebra printers, but would take some research & dev on your part.

To do that in MII, you need Web Service action block. Have you work with MII transaction before?

  • Error Message While Running Sequence from Planning and/or SmartView

Following error is thrown while running a sequence from either planning or smartview at a higher level.
"*An error occurred while running the specified calc script. Check the log for details*"
This is very weird because it does not happened with any of the following:
    1. Running same sequence from AAS at higher level
    2. Running at lower level entity either planning or smartview
    3. Running from Planning or smartview with split sequence at higher level
    4. Running each rule within the sequence from Planning or smartview
    What have we done?
    1. Checked every log file, Essbase, Planning, HBR - no error message is logged despite above statement.
    2. Recycled environment
    3. Stopped and restated DB and APP
    Other info:
    1. DB.log file is 1.2gb
    2. No meta data changes
    3. We could not able to replicate same in Q and Dev
    4. Looked at cache setting

    Added environment section.

    Hi,
To start Planning as a foreground app, stop the Planning service and then go to Start - Programs - Hyperion Solutions - Hyperion Planning - Start Planning (Apache Tomcat).
Thats if you are using Tomcat of course. A DOS window should then pop.
What value did you enter for the HBR properties? Have you tried 960000 for both? Remember you need to restart the Planning services for changes to take effect.
Have you tried increasing some of the properties in the HBRServer.properties under Hyperion\AnalyticAdministrationServices such as:
    HBR.timeout
    Try setting it to 30000
The restart the AAS service for the changes to take effect.
    Hope this helps.

The external server program is registered with the SAP Gateway. We have created a TCP/IP RFC destination and are able to connect to the destination successfully via SM59.
An RFC function is created in SAP and is called using the syntax CALL FUNCTION "/NGN/BAPI_STRE_SEARCH_PROCESS" DESTINATION 'PRDB2B'. We have also handled the COMM_FALIURE and SYSTEM_FALIURE exceptions in the function call.
We are monitoring the gateway via SMGW and see a connection log to the RFC destination as below
    Number - 10
    LUname - dev01
    TPName - sapgw00
    User - KRAORANE
    Status - CONNECTED
    Symbolic - PRDB2B
    Conversation - 86520353
    Prot - REG
    SAP return code - 0
    CPIC rtn code - 0
The external program returns results as expected.
However sometimes the RFC fails and returns the message “JCO.Server could not create server function /NGN/BAPI_STRE_SEARCH_PROCESS”.
We are not able to figure what exactly is causing this error. Any help will be highly appreciated.

  • HOw to find out the RFC destination from BW system to ISU

    Hi,
Currently my requirement is to call a function module which is written in ISU (remote enabled) from BW system.
I am unable to find out the rfc destination from BW to ISU system.
In CRM we have table like smofparsfa1. Is there any table in BW which can provide me the ISU destination?
I need to compare the records stored in isu as well as in BW system.
I need to call a function module which will provide me the data from isu.
please help me in this regard.
    Krishna

    Hi,
You can check it in SM59 if there are any RFC destinations for the above systems.
Alternatively ,check the table RFCDEST if any entries are maintained
