I am develop am webdynpro java mobile application with rfid function.
I already insert the ui element for rfid to my view. My problem is from the sap library the activeX and the key code is require. I am using symbol MC906R. Can anyone guide me on this? Thanks.

I have am device symbol MC9000 for my rfid application. I insert the rfid ui element into my view with the class id classId "SymbolBrowser.Generic" which i found on spb developer guide and keycode : onTrigger. I already done the code at wdModifyview and action onRead. My problem now is when i press on the trigger button the internet explore error pop out. The error is
Microsoft JScript runtime error.
Line: 1 Character:111
Error: Object doesn't support this property or method.
Same error appear when i click in the rfid ui element.
Any guide on this error??

RFID application - SQL - SAP

Could you help me. I've a Symbol RFID device with ActiveSync and eConnect programs.
My aim is by reading tags send this information to the database on SAP server for example using Wi-FI.
But I don't know which programm(application) I need to install on my Pocket PC Should I install a programm that builds a SQL database on my RFID reader?
And one more question what is SAP Console is there any PC pocket SAP Consol.
I think this programm must be compatible with Symbol devices.

SAP Console is part of the install of the GUI. I do not advise you put is on a pocket PC, (won't fit I'm sure)
Your RFID reader will need to do a telnet session to the PC/server running SAP Console. Look up Georgia Softworks for that info.
We have wireless Intermec scanners that connect via the telnet session to SAP Console then to the backend. The Intermec scanners have a custom program for our shipping system.
As for pocket pc, you can load sapgui on and scan directly in to that on a transaction, that's if you can do wireless and scan at the same time.

RFID Functionality in MAM Mobile application

Hello All,
I like to get some details regarding the Mobile application for RFID functionality in MAM (Monile Asset Management). We already configured the MAM in the backend and able to see all the below sections:
Order Processing
Notification processing
Technical Objects
Measurement & Reading etc...
For implementing RFID I understand we need to install some 3 rd party drivers in the Mobile device. But where I will see the RFID application simillar to Order Processing , Notification Processing etc... Is there any specific application exists for the RFID Management in MAM?
Please clarify .

RFID and Web Services

I am planning to implement an application using Web Services with RFID. I am not sure how I can go about it, since the technology is new and still under development.
Sun has releassed its RFID Software,which is only for the Solaris OS.
Any idea if Sun will relaease its RFID package for Windows OS.
Are there any other companies who have released their packages for RFID?

Creme crashes

Hi, today is not my best day, I got another question...
We are currently developing an RFID application with MI7.
We have:
WinCE .NET 5
MI 7 (think SP12)
We created a very simple and basic application that just reads an RFID Tag.
On the NWA I looked for the correct driver (PIRFPSIWP_WM50_XSL_CRM 1.27) and added it as another component to my installation as well as the connector CONNECTOR_WM50_XSL_CRM 1.17 (and 1.26, I tried both).
What happens now is that Creme crashes during startup with the message
A security error of unknown cause has been detected which has corrupted the programs internal state. The programm cannot saely continue execution and must now be terminated.
No additional entries in any logfiles.
By accident I noticed that this message only comes up when the file "MEAPIJNI.dll" - which is provided with the connector - is stored in the Windows directory. If it is not in the Windows directory Creme starts normal - but then the RFID functions says MEAPIJNI.DLL is missing. If the whole connector is not installed I get the message that no driver is found.
I appreciate any help.

First and foremost i believe that you are using a SAP standard Creme JVM that is downloaded from http://www.nsicom.com/Default.aspx?tabid=289 and not any other Creme JVM. Having said this MI Client and also the JVM is supported and tested only on Windows Mobile Devices and not on .NET devices. This holds good for Connection addons, dlls as well. The fact that you are using a .NET device could be the reason for the crash. May be try this on a WM device and find out if the error occurs.

Sun Application Server 9.1_02 + Sun RFID Software 3.0 + Postgres8.3?

I am working on some RFID-related project. I need to capture, fiter and then perform some other tasks on the data sensed by RFID readers, all in Java. So I choose Sun's software. There was no luck when I was trying to configure my system to work with Sun's software. Hope you experienced could do me a favor and help me out. Thanks in advance. Here are details.
In the installation guide of Sun Java System RFID Software 3.0, it says, to install RFID information server, Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 8.1 2005Q2 UR2 and PostgreSQL 8.0.4 are needed.
For the following 2 reasons:
1 PostgreSQL 8.0.4 is now not available to download on www.postgresql.org;
2 I think later version of PostgreSQL or Sun Application Server should be compatible to their earlier versions
I tried the following combination other than those stated in the installation guide:
1 PostgreSQL 8.3;
2 Sun Java System Application Server 9.1_02, bound with Sun Java Application Platform SDK Update 5;
3 Sun Java System RFID Software 3.0
Then, the application server successfully communicates with PostgreSQL, demonstrated by "ping success" through the connection pool built in application server's admin console.
The RFID information server communicates successfully with PostgreSQL, demonstrated by deploying RFID information server database successfully in PostgreSQL.
But, instructed by the installation guide, when I tried to validate my RFID information server installation by typing "http://localhost:8080/epcis" in the browser, the application server reported "the resource is not available".
I looked into many other internet resources and instructions about this, but no luck at all. I am now really, really stuck. Hope you could do me this favor. Thanks.

Would be a great idea to open-source the Sun RFID project, since the project is inactive over the last tree years.
Seems that this project have a great architecture, but the techonolgy is outdated ...
We have another open source initiave (google for Aspire RFID), but seems that this project still imature ...
Comercial options includes ALE Server, and Sendra Solutions (but I didn't evaluated these)

Hi Romi,
I assume that you have restarted NWDS 7.1 after copying the plugins.Please make sure that you have followed the plugin installation document in totatility when installing the plugins as even one small step miss would lead to problems.
Please check with PIOS documentation whether they are compatible with 7.1.
If all this doesnt help, you can share the plugins folder and help documentation, I will try to install them at my system and check.

Refer to the NWDS - MDK help/ Developing mobile applications help under Help->Contents for how to use the RFID api. Development of the RFID integrated smart sync mobile application is in no way different to developing other smart synce mobile applications.
Check out the following notes for released drivers and hence supported models and specific installation instructions:

1057759 - Delivered Drivers for Peripherals in SAP DOE
761833 - Delivered Drivers for Peripherals in SAP MI
Depending on the device you are planning / have use the above notes when in need.

Connection to serial port for communication RFID

I have occurred problem in communication to serial port for accessing the RFID
through Serial Port COM1 or COM2 . I got garbage values of Card .
Please give me the code for accessing serial port and indicter the cadr is detected by RFID and read the data on card.

EHAG microchip 13,56 MHz dual reader and Mifare 1KB contactless smartcard.
I've succeed to retrieve the data from the transponder (card) but it just only once when i click the button from my application. My question is how do i retrieve the data continuously from the card for every few milliseconds?

How mobile device ( rfid/barcode reader) communicates with SAP transaction.

I want to understand that in ITSmobile How Mobile device ( RFID Reader ot Barcode scanner/reader) to fetch the data and supply the ITS screen.
I believe every mobile device has some .dll file or something in that we have some methods if we call it say in .net or java application we can read the rfid or barcode and from the returning paramter of the .dll method we can get information what we want ( if i m not wrong).
now the question is if I have some barcode /rfid number which is assigned to sap material number. if on mobile device I run mm02 transaction code n trigger the gun can I get the material number in material number field . ( assume I have program which can fetch the material number from barcode/rfid number.) ? but to pass rfid number / barcode what should I do. I can write javascript and call that method but dont know weather I can use javascript or not in that.
to be simple:
How can I get barcode / rfid number to my sap transaction. if possible
please give me any suggestion. document link... help.... whatever may help me to understand this. I will greatly appreciate your reply

Hi Ajay,
Please refer to note 1057759 for the delivered Drivers for Peripherals in SAP DOE. This lists all the supported barcode scanners for SAP Netweaver Mobile. Those derivers are certified after testing to work only with that device and OS configuration.

As input from Barcode scan have to be taken in Wedge Mode, there is no need to do any developments in MI JSP Application. To enable barcode scan one can download barcode scan tools available from Handheld Vendor sites

MAM25 experiences on RFID

Dear all, some question about mobile application MAM and RFID.
1) I would like to know how many people is using or tested the MAM25 with RFID and in this case wich devices are you using.
Please specify not only the hw provider (Hp, Dell...) but if possible also the model.
We are making difficult to find out devices supported for RFID with MAM25.
2) For myr goals it's ok also if the RFID reader/writer device is not integrated but it's an handheld model (like the iPen Bt Pro from Microsensys), connected to the mobile device (PDA or Win32 laptop) via bluetooth interface.
Someone has some experience on that ?
I posted a message like that in RFID forum, but I did not recive any feedback. Sorry if it's not the proper forum.

Out of MAM 3.0 SR3 release note:
RFID Reader: Only the socket communication card (model 6E) is
presently supported for handheld devices only. This card will
support laptop devices in upcoming MI releases. Refer to note
995387 for additional details.
I think there is a plan to expand the driver base upon request. Socket card works fine in the test environement.

Problem in MI integration with RFID

WorkAboutPRO, PSION TEKLOGIX PDA with RFID reader.
on that we have installed-

In my case both Webcenter spaces and UCM are part of the same domain. But still i'm getting the error.
I'm able to login usnig AD user, Do i still need to configure JPS provider for webcenter spaces? Please help me what changes to be made to be able to search users while adding them to any newly created group space.
