Rights to associate application objects
i would like to give a lan administrator the rights to deploy an app
object to his context only.he has all rights to his particular context
but the app object is in a different one. I tried to make him a trustee
of the app object with supervisor rights. he can browse to the object
(during the association) but gets a -602 error when he tries to ok it.
When I log in it works (I have rights to the root). Any insight?

that should be enough if the users are in his particular context

How to create Illustrator COM application Object in Invisible manner?
Hi,
I added CS6 COM reference in my VB.NET application and after that I have the following basic object creation in order to convert a eps file to svg. But for some reason when I create this COM object it is launching the Adobe Illustrator application. Why it is doing like this? It’s a simple COM object why it is interacting with Illustrator Editor? Could you guide me how to take care this issue please?
Thanks
SGI am going to post a reply here from our other posts... http://forums.adobe.com/message/4692998#4692998
your last post from other message:
Let’s forget about VB part, even in Java script how do we create the Illustrator instance without bring Illustrator IDE up when you create the application object. It’s a COM component right, why would it bring up the UI? Do you have any simple example in Javascript please?
To the best of my knowledge in order to access the Illustrator object model that the application must be running through JavaScript since scripts are run via the UI.
I did find this in the documentation in refference to VB.
CreateObject launches Illustrator as an invisible application if it is not already running. If Illustrator is
launched as an invisible application you must manually activate the application to make it visible:
Set appRef = CreateObject("Illustrator.Application")
So instead of "As New" try "CreateObject"...
Just a guess really -
Create an Application Object schedule from command line?
Hi everyone - long-time lurker, first-time poster here.
Is there a way create an availability schedule for an Application Object via a command line (or any other programmatic method)? The utilities I've obtained from Cool Solutions are great for replicating AOs (Application Objects) and setting certain properties, but none of them seem to have a method of creating a schedule that you would otherwise create within the AO's property book via Availability > Schedule. BTW, we are using Zen 6.5.
We have a rollout around the corner for which there are several AOs that drive the process, and we are going to have an instance of each of these AOs for every target group (of which there are dozens), and each group will have their own distinct schedule. The schedules are basically going to be "wait until day X to become available and then remain available for the next 2 months".
For some of the AOs we can use the Schedule Type of Range of days, which is not so terrible to set manually because you just specify a start date and an end date. But most of the AOs must have the Schedule Type of Specified days in order to ensure they do not ever launch during business hours; manually selecting 60 days from the date picker for a single instance is a daunting task, and I shudder at the thought of having to do so for dozens of AO instances.
I believe that the field in the ZENworks database that corresponds with an Application Object's schedule has a data type of Binary (which may be why there doesn't seem to be an existing solution), but does anyone have any ideas for accomplishing what I'm talking about?
Thanks in advance,

Just to clarify, you want:
Range of days, start date, end date. Nothing fancier than that?
- Anders Gustafsson (Sysop)
The Aaland Islands (N60 E20)
In a perfect world this is what I would like to be able to do:
For the AOs where we're going to use the "Range of Days" schedule type, be able to specify the start date, end date and also the days of the week when we do not want it to run (or just the days we do want it, if easier).
For the AOs with the "Specified days" schedule type, we would like to add (or remove) a specific date, and optionally be able to specify that Start Time and End Time that applies to the dates. As for adding multiple dates, I was planning on having a script that enumerates all the dates in our desired range, and for each date in the range it would call the utility with that date passed as a parameter to add it or remove it.
If all of the above is too much to put together then I would not complain if it is only partially fulfilled. To be honest I would not mind building a mechanism myself that could handle this, it's just that I don't know where to start. I'd be happy to take a crack at it if someone could point me in the right direction for how to send commands to the database (or directory).
Thank you again for your help. -
Caching whole Application Object[in addition to swf]
My whole application is written in JSF. I am using SWFobject
to embed Flex component in a JSF page[which just contains Flex swf
only]. Now the user can click a button on JSF application and can
navigate to this JSF page[with Flex application embedded], and he
can again click a button on the Flex application and move back to
original JSF application. Now the issue is when the user moves from
original JSF page to Flex embedded JSF page he looses the old state
of the Flex application.
Here is the use case :
1.) User is on main JSF page and hits button to navigate to
another JSF page which has Flex application embedded using
SWFObject.
2.) on the Flex application He has tree on the left side and
some interactive images on the right side and the bottom portion of
the screen has tabs displaying some information corresponding to
each node.Everytime he clicks on a node on the tree I create a new
Tab on the bottom portion and display corresponding information
which gets fetched from the backend.
3.) Now lets say he clicked on two nodes and current state of
application is tree is expanded second node is selected and some
intercative images are displayed on the right side and two tabs are
created on the bottom of screen with some info.
4.) Now user decides to go back to original JSF
application(he hits a button on the present screen to take him back
to original JSF page).
5.) Now when the user tries to navigate back to Flex
application, he looses all the previous state of the Flex
application.
So My question is, is there a way that old state of the flex
application be saved.this different then caching swf, which I am
already doing, But I do not want the SystemManager to create a new
instance of application object (because in that case I will loose
all the components and there previous states), but instead use the
last saved application instance bypassing all the lifecycle of
application object and adding the existing application instance to
the display list directly].
I want to know whether this is even possible???
1.) Can I store the application instance somewhere somehow.
2.) Tell SystemManager to use this applicationInstance rather
than instantiating a new one.
If its not possible then what are the alternatives to achieve
same kind of behavior?"vikbar" <[email protected]> wrote in

You'd need to put the right stuff in the url to make it work,
just like if
you were calling a page that's expecting GET params. I don't
really use the
HistoryManager, so you'll need to either look into this
yourself or ask
someone who knows more about it.

Edge Animate CC crashes on right-click on any Object in Elements window
Hi,
Every time I right click on an Object in Elements window Animate crashes on me.
Same thing happens, when i click on the "Open Actions" Button - "{ }"
I really would apreciate some kind of help with this problem, since I am able to accomplish nothing this way.
I am running on a 2010 MacBook Pro 3.06 GHz Core 2 Duo - OSX 10.9
Adobe Edge CC downloaded today via Creative Cloud
Thanks in advance,
have a beautiful day,
AnneHi hemanth,
Thanks for the reply,
I am Using Edge Animate 3.0.0.322.27519
(Actual Version downloded via Creative Cloud)
I renamed the Folder
/Users/Your User Name/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Edge Animate
TO
.../OLD Edge Animate
as suggested in the link you gave me...
I restarted An and not only is the problem still ocurring, but also the program did not create a new '.../Edge Animate' Folder.
The Link you gave me stated:
After you have removed your existing preferences, restart Edge Animate. The application creates new preferences files and folders using the default settings.
This did not happen.
but program is starting normally without the preferences Folder obviously - problems stay the same
It's nice to know, that you are there to care about the problem -
thanks for that so far and if you can think of anything else -
don't hesitate to write
have a beautiful day,

Application object BUPA: Table TSADC does not exist
Hi All,
When I try to create a Business Partner in transaction fmcac1, I get the message Application object BUPA: Table TSADC does not exist, especially when I try to go back to the Address tab after clicking on any other tab on that screen. I have tried to add the table in trans BUSG but I don't know what I am supposed to assign as the FM, for example.
I have also used the trans BUSB to try to delete the entry for TSADC but it says 'do not make any changes (SAP Entry.)' Can u pliz assist with the information I have requsted above or prescribe another solution.
Thanx in advance. For the benefit of others, I was able to solve the problem by removing the entry to the RIGHT, not the WHOLE entry (which refuses becoz it's an SAP entry). This is through transaction BUSB.

Regarding Application object BUPA
Hi Experts,
I am facing a problem while creating a Business partner through BP transaction. While I am saving the Business Partner, I am getting a error message <b></b>Application Object BUPA : Table BUT000FLDS does not exist.<b></b>
I went into transaction BUSG and found that that entry of table BUT000FLDS against object BUPA is not present.
Now I wanted to add a new entry but I dont know the FM name against BUT000FLDS. Can any one plese tell me the FM name for the same.
Moreover, is my approch right in solving this problem. If not then what could be the probable solution to get rid of this error.
Help would be appreciated.
Regards
Sourabh VermaHi Sourabh,
The only reason for the error Application Object BUPA : Table BUT000FLDS does not exist can be that there is an entry exists in the transaction with table BUT000FLDS. But such a table doesn't exist in the data dictionary.
Check transaction BUSG or table TBZ1H again if such an entry exist.
Adding FM doesnt solve the problem because the object BUT000FLDS doesn't exist as a table in the data dictionary.

Creating .MSI Application Object
Hello,
I have three .MSI packages that I need to distribute. I have several
books and have searched Novell's knowledge base but the TIDs are very
basic and it is getting hard to find documentation on Zenworks 3.2. I
have followed the step by step instructions on how to create a MSI package
but it never is distributed to the workstation.
I currently use NAL and have almost 20 application objects that are
currently being used on a daily basis, so I know NAL is working.
Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

Right now in testing I have associated by user, when it's functional it
will be setup by workstation.
Mixed environment, testing on Windows 2000, Client 4.9 SP1a
I have only been able to get the mapped drives to work. When I try to
change the path to unc it was giving me am error about "cannot open
database" now it's allowing me to create the object with an UNC path.
It was forced to run.

Recordset - updating 2 tables with 1 recordset using application object update record
I have a recordset that uses a field from 2 different tables
with a select statement where clause that joins a userid. I can
display the field’s data just fine. Now I want to use the
Application object “update record” so I can modify
either of the fields. The problem is the Application object
“update record” only allows you to update one table.
How does Dreamweaver mx 2004 allow me to update 2 tables with one
recordset and 1 submit button? Currently using php.
Example of where:
Where member.userid = member_detail.userid
I tried creating the one form with the field from the first
table and that works just fine. I added the other field from the
other table into the form but ofcourse there isn’t any code
that will update the second table so it won’t work.
My application requires me to update alot of fields between 2
tables at the same time.
Does anyone know a way using Dreamweaver mx 2004 to do this?
I don’t have much php experience.jon-rookie wrote:

Not even CS3 has this built in, you will either have to code
it yourself
or buy the extension you have found. Dreamweaver gives you
basic
features to help you develop applications, but if you want to
do
anything really clever you have to do it yourself.
One thing to consider is maybe creating an SQL view that is
can be
updated. I am pretty sure it exists, then you use the view
instead of
the table in the update behaviour. I have never done it
myself, but I am
sure it can be done.

Invalid method "Save As" from Excel application object
I have Windows 2000 and Excel 2002 installed on my machine.
I down loaded "renamed Excel 2000 workbook.vi" from NI website. Relinked ref num to Excel application object but get the error of invalid method (Save As). Tried to relink invoke node to Save As by selecting method from drop down menu. However this method is not on the list. Tried other excel objects but can not find "Save As" method. Has this been removed/moved?I was able to correct the error by relinking the Workbooks->Open to Open. This changes the subsequent Invoke Node from IAppEvents to _Workbook. There you will find the Save As method.

I need to get the Excel.application object from a window handle using AccessibleObjectFromWindow. I can't seem to make the code work. First, I successfully search for the XLMAIN windows. Then, when I get a handle, I execute the AccessibleObjectFromWindow
function. It seems to return a value of -2147467262 in all cases. Therefore, I believe that it is returning an error value. I can't figure out how to determine the meaning of this value.
If it is an error value, I believe that one or more arguments are in error. My best guess at present is that the GUID argument is incorrect. I have tried two GUID values: {00020400-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} and {90140000-0016-0409-0000-0000000FF1CE}.
I have seen both used in conjunction with OBJID_NATIVEOM. Neither one seems to work. I really would prefer not to use the second one as it has an Excel major and minor version number. I would hate to have to change this code, if a new minor version appeared.
The attached code has been commented to show which parts have been shown to work and which not. I'm at my wits end and really need help.
Thanks

Note as written if an instance does not have any loaded workbooks a reference will not be returned (though a workbook can be added using DDE, but convoluted!)
FWIW there are two other very different approaches to grab all running Excel instances though something along the lines of the above is simplest.

Error 1603 in deploying Office 2003 by creating an application object using its MSI package!
Hello,
I got the error of 1603 when I ran Office 2003 MSI package through NAL. I
have no idea how to resolve this problem. Even though I enabled logging in
Office 2003 installation, I still could not figure out what went wrong and
what caused the error.
I have used Snapshot to create an application object for a long time with
little problem. However, I could not successfully deploy any MSI package
created by an application object. I knew ZenWork Managing Application has
the feature, but I don't know how to make it work in our environment.
Do I have to know more about Microsoft Window Installer ?
Appreciate your comments and experience in advance

Access jsp's application object from an .java file?
Hi,
I hava a .jsp page and an import statement to a .java file. How can I access the application object in this .java file?
I want to make an initialization function that I want to be called in every .jsp of the WEB application and to store this function in a .java file. The only way to get a hold of the application object would be to pass it to java code as a parameter to a method.
ie public class Util{
public void initialiseJSPPage(ServletContext application){
// do stuff in ServletContext
}and then in the JSP call it via
<% Util.initialiseJSPPage(application); %>
You could manually include this code on every JSP.
A better alternative is that in web.xml you can configure an automatic include (See JSP.3.3.5)
What is it you are trying to accomplish by doing this?
Would a Filter be a more appropriate tool in this case? That would let you run java code before selected requests are handled.
Cheers,
