RMAN is not showing datafile

Hi,
i have taken full backup of database using rman.
now i have added one more datafile to database, so when i added datafile to database i need to take fresh backup.
so i delete all the backups and unregistered database and registered it again.
when i query RMAN>report need backup; it is now showing latest added datafile in the database.
what could be the problem
please let me know soon
thanks a lot

yes i have executed
RMAN>resync catalog; after connecting to db.

  • RMAN-05556: not all datafiles have backups that can be recovered to SCN

    Oracle 11.2.0.2 SE-One
    Oracle Linux 5.6 x86-64
    Weekly refresh of a test db from prod, using rman DUPLICATE DATABASE, failed with “RMAN-05556: not all datafiles have backups that can be recovered to SCN”
    Background Summary:
    Weekly inc 0 backup of production starts on Sunday at 0100, normally completes around 1050.  Includes backups of archivelogs
    Another backup of just archivelogs runs on Sunday at 1200, normally completes NLT 1201.
    On the test server, the refresh job starts on Sunday at 1325.  In the past this script used a set until time \"to_date('`date +%Y-%m-%d` 11:55:00','YYYY-MM-DD hh24:mi:ss')\"; -- hard-coded for ‘today at 11:55’.
    For a variety of reasons I decided to replace this semi-hard coding of the UNTIL with a value determined by querying the rman catalog, getting the completion time of the inc 0 backup.  This tested out just fine in my vbox lab, even when I deliberately drove some updates and log switches during the period the backup was running.  But the first time to go live I got the above reported error.
    Details:
    The key part of the inc 0 backup is this (run from a shell script)
    export BACKUP_LOC=/u01/backup/dbprod
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/rman target=/ catalog rman/***@rmcat<<EOF
    configure backup optimization on;
    configure default device type to disk;
    configure retention policy to recovery window of 2 days;
    crosscheck backup;
    crosscheck archivelog all;
    delete noprompt force obsolete;
    delete noprompt force expired backup;
    delete noprompt force expired archivelog all;
    configure controlfile autobackup on;
    configure controlfile autobackup format for device type disk to '$BACKUP_LOC/%d_%F_ctl.backup';
    CONFIGURE CHANNEL DEVICE TYPE DISK FORMAT   '$BACKUP_LOC/%U.rman' MAXPIECESIZE 4096 M;
    sql "alter system archive log current";
    show all;
    backup as compressed backupset archivelog all delete all input format "$BACKUP_LOC/%U.alog";
    backup as compressed backupset incremental level 0 database tag tag_dbprod;
    sql "alter system archive log current";
    backup as compressed backupset archivelog all delete all input format "$BACKUP_LOC/%U.alog";
    list recoverable backup;
    EOF
    The archivelog-only backup (runs at noon) looks like this:
    export BACKUP_LOC=/u01/backup/dbprod
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/rman target=/ catalog rman/***@rmcat<<EOF
    configure backup optimization on;
    configure default device type to disk;
    configure retention policy to recovery window of 2 days;
    crosscheck backup;
    crosscheck archivelog all;
    delete noprompt force obsolete;
    delete noprompt force expired backup;
    delete noprompt force expired archivelog all;
    configure controlfile autobackup on;
    configure controlfile autobackup format for device type disk to '$BACKUP_LOC/%d_%F_ctl.backup';
    CONFIGURE CHANNEL DEVICE TYPE DISK FORMAT   '$BACKUP_LOC/%U.rman' MAXPIECESIZE 4096 M;
    sql "alter system archive log current";
    show all;
    backup as compressed backupset archivelog all delete all input format "$BACKUP_LOC/%U.alog";
    list recoverable backup;
    EOF
    And the original refresh looked like this:
    >> a step to ftp the backups from the prod server to the test server, and some other housekeeping  <<, then
    cd /backup/dbtest
    echo "connect catalog rman/***@rmcat" >  /backup/dbtest/dbtest_refresh.rman
    echo "connect target sys/*******@dbprod" >> /backup/dbtest/dbtest_refresh.rman
    echo "connect auxiliary /"             >> /backup/dbtest/dbtest_refresh.rman
    echo "run {"                           >> /backup/dbtest/dbtest_refresh.rman
    echo "set until time \"to_date('`date +%Y-%m-%d` 11:55:00','YYYY-MM-DD hh24:mi:ss')\";"  >> /backup/dbtest/dbtest_refresh.rman
    echo "duplicate target database to DBTEST;"  >> /backup/dbtest/dbtest_refresh.rman
    echo "}" >> /backup/dbtest/dbtest_refresh.rman
    So, my mod to the refresh was
    bkup_point=`sqlplus -s rman/***@rmcat <<EOF1
    set echo off verify off feedback off head off pages 0 trimsp on
    select to_char(max(completion_time),'yyyy-mm-dd hh24:mi:ss')
    from rc_backup_set_details
    where db_name='DBPROD'
    and backup_type='D'
    and incremental_level=0
    exit
    EOF1`
    cd /backup/dbtest
    echo "connect catalog rman/***@rmcat"     > /backup/dbtest/dbtest_refresh.rman
    echo "connect target sys/*******@dbprod"    >> /backup/dbtest/dbtest_refresh.rman
    echo "connect auxiliary /"                >> /backup/dbtest/dbtest_refresh.rman
    echo "run {"                              >> /backup/dbtest/dbtest_refresh.rman
    echo "set until time \"to_date('${bkup_point}','YYYY-MM-DD hh24:mi:ss')\";"  >> /backup/dbtest/dbtest_refresh.rman
    echo "duplicate target database to DBTEST;" >> /backup/dbtest/dbtest_refresh.rman
    echo "}"                                  >> /backup/dbtest/dbtest_refresh.rman
    Now the fun begins.
    First, an echo in the refresh script confirmed the ‘bkup_point’:
    =======================================================
    We will restore to 2013-08-25 10:41:38
    =======================================================
    Internally, rman reset the ‘until’ as follows:
    executing command: SET until clause
    Starting Duplicate Db at 25-Aug-2013 15:35:44
    allocated channel: ORA_AUX_DISK_1
    channel ORA_AUX_DISK_1: SID=162 device type=DISK

    Notice the slight difference in time between what is reported in the LIST BACKUP and what was reported by my query to the catalog.

    Notice the availability of the archivelogs including the referenced scn.
    Investigation of the ftp portion of the refresh script confirmed that all backup pieces were copied from the prod server.
    So what am I overlooking?  Having reverted back to the original script to get the refresh completed,

    HemantKChitale wrote:
    So, technically, you only need the database and archivelogs backed up by the database script and not the noon run of the archivelog backup.
    backup as compressed backupset archivelog all delete all input format "$BACKUP_LOC/%U.alog";
    backup as compressed backupset incremental level 0 database tag tag_dbprod;
    sql "alter system archive log current";
    backup as compressed backupset archivelog all delete all input format "$BACKUP_LOC/%U.alog";
    Yet, why does backupset 5 of the noon archivelog backup show archivelogs from 10:30 to 10:40  if they had been deleted by the database backup script which has a delete input ?  It is as if the database backup script did NOT delete the archivelogs and the noon run was the one to backup the archivelogs (again ?)
    No, that is from the morning full backup.  Note the 'Completion Time" of 25-Aug-2013 10:54:53
    However, the error message seems to point to a datafile.  Why would reverting the recovery point to 11:55 make a difference, I wonder.
    As do I.
    Also puzzling to me are the times associated with the completion of the backups.  I don't recall ever having to scrutinize a backup listing this closely so I'm sure it's just a matter of filling in some gaps in my understanding, but I noticed this.  The backup report (list backup;) shows this for the inc 0 backup:

    I hope this posts in a readable, understandable manner.  I really struggeled with the 'enhanced editor', which I normally use.  When I pasted in blocks from the rman report, it kept trying to make some sort of table structure out of it .... guess I'll have to follow that up with a question in the Community forum ....

    No luck. The error message is different but the result is the same... it keeps failing.

  • Datafile not showing in PSAP SID 640 tablespace

    Hi All,
    In our quality  server we are having we are having datafile PSAPDQT & PSAPDQT640,
    in PSAPDQT  sapdata 1 & 2 not showing remaining datafiles are showing, but in PSAPDQT640 its showing all the datafiles sapdata1,2,3 &4., in transaction DB02--> datafiles/temp files.
    This is on ECC 5 on HP-HX, with oracle 10g.
    Kindly suggest what may be the issue and how to resolve.
    Thanks & Regards!!

    Is it not showing the TABLESPACES or not showing the DATAFILES in the tablespaces? Do you "see" them using brtools?
    I read your sentence about 10 times but I must admit, I don't understand your problem.

  • Block corruption problem in alert and rman/dbv no show errors

    Hello, I'm new in Oracle's world. I have one problem with Oracle 10.2.0.4 (RHEL 5.6) x64. Archive redo-log enable
    In the alert.log, three days ago show (the server have kernel panic & rebooted):
    Mon Sep 24 18:18:17 2012

    OBJN = 86908, OBJD = 86908, OBJECT = SYS_C0040110, SUBOBJECT =
    SEGMENT OWNER = SCHEMA1, SEGMENT TYPE = Index Segment
    Yesterday, we detected this error because SQL don't execute.
    The error repeat 47times and there is 6 different file-block combination (4 index of schemas, 1 of sys and ¡2 tables!)
    First, I launched expdp and exp of the one problematic schema. The export was fine, no errors while exporting, but in the alert.log show one block corruption. Should exp and expd show error and stop?
    Next, I used dbv and verify all dbfs. Only show 2 blocks error in two datafiles (indexes).
    Next, I used RMAN:
    A) check database: no error.
    B) validate database: error in two blocks (logical error) and different from the 6 in alert.log. This two blocks are indexes.
    I re-create this two indexes. When i re-create, the block error disappear (not inmediate, suppose that disappear when block was rewrite). Now dbv and rman show no error.
    I have read one note about types of error, other about procedures if db is in archivelog/noarchivelog. Also if object is index or table. But I find anything about auto-repair corrupt blocks in Oracle or why now the 6 block error are solved. I don't know if two tables with two block corrupt lost rows or not.
    Appreciate any help.
    Regards

    Hello Fran. Result of query before rebuild problematic INDEXES:
    SQL> select * from V$database_block_corruption;
    FILE# BLOCK# BLOCKS CORRUPTION_CHANGE# CORRUPTIO
    3 98857 1 390928740 LOGICAL
    9 48632 1 390325900 LOGICAL
    When I ran RMAN first time to check blocks, it filled V$database_block_corruption with two bad blocks. Different from the 6 errors from alert.:
    RMAN> backup validate check logical database;
    Error backing up file 9, block 48632: logical corruption
    Error backing up file 3, block 98857: logical corruption
    I extracted index name from each block and I re-created it. Also, I created a temporary table in tablespace's datafile to fill blocks empty. Problem solved. Rman / dbv show no error.
    I'm searching for similar experiences and found: Re: Data in bad block
    First 6 bad checksum errors in alert.log disappear with any visible problem?
    Can I sure that DB is fine if RMAN and DBV show no errors?
    Thank you very much

  • New tables & indexes created do not show up in dba_segments view

    Dear all,
    I have created 3 tables and some indexes, but these objects do not show up in dba_segments view. Is this a normal behaviour? Previously, with dictionary managed tablespace, I can specify the minimum extent to create, when the table/index is created. But I'm not sure how the locally managed tablespace work. Please do advice. Thank you very much in advance.
    I'm using Oracle 11g R2 (11.2.0.1.0) for Microsoft Windows (x64), running on Windows 7.
    For the purpose of reproducing this issue, I have created the tablespaces as follow:
    CREATE TABLESPACE CUST_DATA
    DATAFILE 'd:\app\asus\oradata\orcl11gr2\CUST_DATA01.DBF' SIZE 512K
    AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 256K MAXSIZE 2000K
    EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL UNIFORM SIZE 256K
    SEGMENT SPACE MANAGEMENT AUTO;
    CREATE TABLESPACE CUST_INDX
    DATAFILE 'd:\app\asus\oradata\orcl11gr2\CUST_INDX.DBF' SIZE 256K
    AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 128K MAXSIZE 2000K
    EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL UNIFORM SIZE 128K
    SEGMENT SPACE MANAGEMENT AUTO;
    CREATE TABLE CUSTOMER_MASTER (CUST_ID VARCHAR2 (10),
    CUST_NAME VARCHAR2 (30),
    EMAIL VARCHAR2 (30),
    DOB DATE,
    ADD_TYPE CHAR (2) CONSTRAINT CK_ADD_TYPE CHECK (ADD_TYPE IN ('B1','B2','H1','H2')),
    CRE_USER VARCHAR2 (5) DEFAULT USER,
    CRE_TIME TIMESTAMP (3) DEFAULT SYSTIMESTAMP,
    MOD_USER VARCHAR2 (5),
    MOD_TIME TIMESTAMP (3),
    CONSTRAINT PK_CUSTOMER_MASTER PRIMARY KEY (CUST_ID) USING INDEX TABLESPACE CUST_INDX)
    TABLESPACE CUST_DATA;
    SQL> SELECT TABLE_NAME, TABLESPACE_NAME
    2 FROM USER_TABLES
    3 WHERE TABLE_NAME LIKE 'CUST%';
    TABLE_NAME TABLESPACE_NAME
    CUSTOMER_MASTER CUST_DATA
    SQL> SELECT INDEX_NAME, TABLESPACE_NAME
    2 FROM USER_INDEXES
    3 WHERE TABLE_NAME LIKE '%CUST%';
    INDEX_NAME TABLESPACE_NAME
    PK_CUSTOMER_MASTER CUST_INDX
    SQL> SELECT SEGMENT_NAME, SEGMENT_TYPE, TABLESPACE_NAME, BYTES
    2 FROM USER_SEGMENTS;
    no rows selected

    Prior to 11g, when you created a table or whatever, you automatically allocated one extent.
    This is now no longer true and depends on a parameter I don't remember.
    dba_segments is a summary of dba_extents.
    Obviously, if there is no extent allocated, the table (view is defined with inner join) will not show up.
    You could qualify this is as a bug and submit a SR to Oracle. But then the performance impact may be huge.

  • Tables not showing up

    i've oracle 10 g installed in my comp on windows....
    till now it was working fine....
    but now... when i start database n try to access tables through
    home - > object browser - > show tables ..... it's not showing any tables
    or
    home - > sql -> sql commands -> select * from tab
    (in this case ... there is not even run option to run the command )
    however i can see tables through Run Sql Command Line ... (the console)
    does anyone have any idea...
    thank you

    You can reinstall Oracle if you want to, your datafiles and database structures don't depend on the oracle home. However this would be just a waist of time, as the root problem isn't an EM configuration.
    If you are sure your tables are on the target schema, then just double check the conditions you have typed from the EM DB Control to query these tables.

    Not to worry. XML publisher is, as Oracle would say, "working as designed". XML publisher reports are only accessable through the Report Manager. A link to them is not created in the the View Log/Trace page. I do not know why they did it this way but it is the way XMLP works.

  • RMAN06056: could not access datafile 44

    Hi
    I am Database Administrator inchrage in our company but am not expert.
    Our APPS Version R12.1
    DB Version: 11.1.0.7
    Linux: Oracle Linux 5
    We have a Backup Exec Symantec version 2012 running in windows 2008 64bit Standard
    Last month I encountered tablespace full so what i did is to create new datafile
    Creating of datafile for the tablesapce i just do in orderlist
    for example:
    a_txn_data01.dbf
    a_txn_data02.dbf
    a_txn_data03.dbf
    a_txn_data04.dbf
    a_txn_data05.dbf
    last month i just create a_txn_data07.dbf since i noticed it i deleted it after that i created a_txn_data06.dbf
    but when i start our database i got error something no such file so what i did is to alter database datafile 44 OFFLINE DROP;
    then it works our database is now STARTED.
    in symantec backupexec i got this error
    Starting backup at 04-JAN-13
    RMAN-06169: could not read file header for datafile 44 error reason 4
    released channel: ch0

    RMAN-06056: could not access datafile 44
    that is why our RMAN terminated when scheduled run in BackupExec.
    Please anyone who can able to help me.
    Thanks

    By using OFFLINE DROP you just have disabled the datafile for further use. The information of datafile is still in controlfile. You need to remove that datafile or else your rman backup willl fail again and again to do so you can follow the following link

    no obsolete backups found;
    Naturally, my scheduled "delete noprompt obsolete" never seems to remove anything. Any advise appreciated.

    Hi,
    Please post here the script that you use to perform this backup.
    Check if you are using KEEP UNTIL clause.
    DELETE OBSOLETE Behavior When KEEP UNTIL Time Expires
    If the KEEP UNTIL TIME period has not expired for an archival backup, RMAN does not consider the backup as obsolete. As soon as the KEEP UNTIL period expires, however, the backup is immediately considered to be obsolete, regardless of any configured backup retention policy. Thus, DELETE OBSOLETE deletes any backup created with BACKUP ... KEEP UNTIL TIME if the KEEP time has expired.

    V$BACKUP_FILES
    KEEP- Indicates whether the backup has a retention policy different from the value for CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY (YES) or not (NO)
    KEEP_UNTIL - If the KEEP UNTIL TIME clause of the BACKUP command was specified, then this column shows the date after which the backup becomes obsolete. If the column is null and KEEP_OPTIONS is not null, the backup never becomes obsolete.V$BACKUP_FILES displays information about all RMAN backups (both image copies and backup sets) and archived logs.

  • ITunes does not show up on apple tv 1st gen.

    i have a 1st gen apple tv with the 160 gig HD. recently, it will not show the itunes site. Under teh movies tab there are my movies and trailers and that's it. Does anyone know how to get the itunes store back on apple tv?

    Known issue currently, you'll need to wait for the fix.

  • My downloaded text sounds do not show up under the sounds tab in settings after installing 8.1.1. can someone help me please?

    i downloaded a couple text tones and since installing 8.1.1, they will not show up under the sounds tab. in fact, they do not show up in my recent purchases on itunes, but when i go to buy them again, it says that i have already bought this tone. I just want to use the tones i paid for as the tones on my phone. not asking much.... thanks for the help. i hope someone can help me get the tones working. thank you.

    This was happening to me too but only for some of my songs. I have a mac so I dunno about PCs, but for most of my ringtones I had to create an ACC version in itunes to make them short enough then turn that into a m4r and those all worked fine. But if the song was already short enough and I didn't create an ACC version and just turned the original into a m4r, then it wouldn't appear in my itunes.
    so if you're on a mac:
    1. go to get info, options, pick when you want the song to start and end.
         Has to be pretty short to work, 30 second or less is good
         if it's already short enough that's fine
    2. right click and click 'create ACC version'
         a copy with the length you put in will appear, drag that into a folder or whatever and just type in m4r where m4a would be
         still make an ACC version even if it's the right length
    Hopefully this helps someone else.

  • Internet Streams in Playlists do not show up on Apple TV

    I use the following setup:
    - Apple TV MD199LL/A (Software 6.0.1) just updated to the latest
    - iTunes 11.1.3 for Windows (from a Windows 7 x64)
    - iTunes 11.1.3 for MAC (from a Apple MacBook Pro x64, Maverix)
    Homesharing is turned on both computers
    From both machines I share pictures, videos and music.
    All photos, videos and music files are getting displayed  on the Apple TV menu, and can be played.
    All iTunes playlists from both machines are  getting displazed on the Apple TV
    BUT!
    If a internet stream is added to a playlist, this entry does not show on the Apple TV menu.
    If the playlist contains only internet streams the Apple TV menu says "There are no songs in this library"
    If I hit the play key on my remote, it  will randomly play the first stream in the playlist (not realy reproducable pattern)
    I can play those streams in iTunes and send it via AirPlay without problems,
    Can anyone help me with this and tell me what I'm doing wrong?
    Thank you

    You can only view that rental on the iPad. For it to show up it has to be rented directly on ATV or through a computer and streamed via home sharing
