RMAN problem with block corruption

Hi
I have problem with the block corruption in one of the database .
here is the error message .
ora-01578:oracle data block corrupted (file# 10,block # 55309) ora-01110: data file 10:

It appears that there was a NOLOGGING operation on an object that resides in '/db/gist1/data/gist1_gis_nologging_01.dbf' .
NOLOGGING operations, as the name suggests, do generate limited redo log, which makes the objects affected by them non-recoverable.
RMAN Blockrecover, as far as I understand, uses full and archivelog backup to perform the block recovery. Since the archivelog backup does not store any changes related to the NOLOGGING operation, then Blockrecover would not be able to help you even if you were licensed.
You can try to restore the object as of the most recent full backup…

Problem with blocked native processes

My application relies heavily on native processes so that I am trying to implement fallback strategies if a native process doesn't work as expected.
While creating test scenarios I had a problem with handling errors caused directly by the start() method of the NativeProcess class. It throws errors if the target process can’t be accessed or is corrupted. For example if you take an exe file in Windows that works correctly and modify it in a hex editor to corrupt it the following error is thrown:
Error: Error #3219: The NativeProcess could not be started. '%1 is not a valid Win32 application.'

If I try to put a try-catch block around the process.start() call something unexpected happens:

The problem with this error is that I got no idea how to catch or prevent it. Depending on what I do in the catch block there is another error. For example if I try to log the error I get (but sometimes not as instantly as above):
Error: Error #1503: A script failed to exit after 30 seconds and was terminated.
      at mx.logging::Log$/getLogger()[E:\dev\4.x\frameworks\projects\framework\src\mx\logging\Log. as:360]
Strange is that the error is fired instantly sometimes not after 30 seconds.
How can I fix this?

In the first case I used a loader to load an error image. In the second case I tried something like:

I don't have the exact code at the moment, because I'm not on that computer.

[RMAN] problem with registering database

Problems with a corrupt block (ORA-00227)+(ORA-00202)

Hi..i'm having this problem on my oracle installation (10g r2 on win2000sp4, italian language) im having trouble to recovery that control file 'CONTROL.DBF', i'm on my first experiences as dba, and i'm trying to startup db,after shutdowning it..
here the details:

Hi,
Try to open the database with copy of the controlfile if u are multiplexed,
If its the fresh database u r created then recreate the database.
Use the CREATE CONTROLFILE or RECOVER DATABASE USING BACKUP CONTROLFILE command.

Problem with block recovery!!!

I backedup a database but,unable to backup this coz i got an error in which i found that my datafile 1 block's is currupt,then i look into session trace file in which i found that which block number has been currupt,then i recover block,but i get an error in which i see that no backupset is found to rman to recover,now i wanted to know that if i heven't a valid backup a database which block has been currup,can i recover a block? and also can backup database too???
please help me out of this i would be very thankfull of you..

You could try to repair a block with the built-in package DBMS_REPAIR.
DBMS_REPAIR
DBMS_REPAIR contains data corruption repair procedures that enable you to detect and repair corrupt blocks in tables and indexes. You can address corruptions where possible and continue to use objects while you attempt to rebuild or repair them.

IPad 2 music does not play and high resolution pictures get corrupted when syncing through iTunes on 64 bit Win 7. Anyone else have a problem with iTunes corrupting music and pictures from 64bit machine?

Works from a 32 bit XP machine. Does not work from a 64bit Win 7 machine. It's 64 bit that seems to be the issue; the music won't start playing, and for pictures, it's when they're more than 768x1024 resolution that they appear very low resolution and/or corrupt. None of the normal tricks work (different user account; different USB port; different USB hub controller) and the problem is replicable. The music and JPEG and PNGs, however, are fine if transferred via a Windows network to a 32 bit machine ie it's not the music/image files.

Dear Katrina, the problem has finally been solved, with the help of a computer-savvy friend of mine who came round this afternoon. As a courtesy, and to thank you for all your help in this matter, I want to share the solution with you.
A piece of the puzzle was missing, as you said, and it lay in the tenth line of the XML document I relayed to you....

My friend spotted that the command string contained a sub-folder of the iTunes folder called "iTunes Media". iTunes was expecting to find all my music there, but that folder didn't exist.
So I created a new folder called "iTunes Media", and moved all my musical content into it, leaving all the command files in the original iTunes folder.
Then I moved the "iTunes Media" folder into the "iTunes" folder, so that it was a sub-folder of the latter.
Then I re-opened iTunes and - joy of joys! - everything works once again. I am re-united with all of my music, and without having to make over 14,000 manual location exercises. I can't tell you how exciting that is.
The mystery is solved, and what had me so puzzled seems obvious now. Thanks again for your help. Without you I might never have got to this point.

Problem with blocking socket.getInput/Output stream :-(

I have a typical client/server application and the problem, that opening the streams leads to clocking behaviour.
This is how I open the streams on the server-side
sock = ssock.accept();
outStream = new ObjectOutputStream(new BufferedOutputStream(sock.getOutputStream()));
inStream = new ObjectInputStream(new BufferedInputStream(sock.getInputStream()));and this is how I open it on the client-side:
        Socket sock = new Socket(host, port);
        outStream = new ObjectOutputStream(new BufferedOutputStream(sock.getOutputStream()));
        //inStream = new ObjectInputStream(new BufferedInputStream(sock.getInputStream()));If I leave the inStreeam-Statement uncommented, everything works fine, but as soon I try to catch the input-stream both, the server and the client-side block foreever.
Any ideas whats wrong?

Oh my god, what a brain-dead java-designer played with the thought tha creating a ObjectOutputStream does not lead to a flush() on the underlaying streams ???!!!
Its easy if you know the way to go (same on both sides):
1.) get the Outputstream / create the ObjectOutputStream
2.) flush the ObjectOutputStream (so that the versioning-infp etc is exchanged)
3.) create ObjectInputStream
Step 2 is just extremly stupid in my eyes!

Problem with a corrupt data file

I have a user who has a corrupt outlook profile, new updates to the exchange servers are not propagating through to her account. I have created her a new profile in outlook which fixes this issue but unfortunately throws up another.
Using her old corrupt profile she has access to her data files of which there are seven. using her new profile these data files although saved as .PST are not recognised by outlook, this sais to me that they also are corrupt. I have tried running SCANPST.exe
and that cannot find the data files either, I have also tried creating a new data file and copying the folders into it without success. Is there some trick I am missing to get these to work with her new profile, they work fine with her old profile which means
they cant be to badly corrupted.
Any advice at this point is most welcome

Problems with blocking cic in pgw2200

Hi,
We have a delicat problem every day, around peakhours in our pgw2200 the cic:s is being blocked, we have configured 2000 cic:s to each AXE:s (we have 2) and have license for 2000 simultaneous calls. Last weeks our pgw2200 is behaving very strange and block cic BLK=GATEWAY, and we can't do anything it is just keep blocking more and more cic:s and will stay like this until it shots /opt/CiscoMGC/bin/startAudit.sh around 04:10 in the morning and all the cic:s are back to normal.
My question is why PGW2200 is behaving like this suddenly? It is very annoying, it is blocking cic due that we still have a lot off free ones.
Does anyone experienced this before, please help us, we don't know what to do.

Problem with blocking upload file TMG 2010

I'm using TMG 2010. I have 3 rules :
1/Allow Internet Access :
protocols : dns, http, https
from: loclahost, internal to: External
2/Allow Protocols :
protocols : all traffics
from: localhost, internal to: localhost, internal
3/Defaul Rule : Block all.
The problem is : i want to block upload file from internal to external so i've made HTTP filter in Allow Internet Access like this : Config HTTP --> Signature : Search in: Request Header
Http header: Content-Type:
Signature: mutipart/form-data
Methods : Block method POST
Unfortunately, it's not work and i dont know why. If i create a rule block web, it's work. Plesase help me. Thanks !

WRT160Nv3 problem with blocking traffic using Access Restrictions

Hi.
I want something quite simple. Block Youtube. I go into "Access Restrictions", choose a name for policy 1, enable it, choose the pc from the pc list, but then...
if a click Deny, all other options will be disabled (greyed out, can't click nor write on them).
Therefore, I can't put the urls I want (youtube).
I tried writing the url with "allow" and then change it to "deny" but it will block ALL traffic.
No good.
So, how do I make a new policy just to block this one URL?
Is it normal that when I click and choose "Deny" everything gets disabled afterwards?

for internet access policy DENY means to restrict internet access during specified days and hours. this will block ALL internet traffic for the said schedule. website blocking by URL, blocking by means of keyword and blocking applications would then be NOT AVAILABLE as the computers would not have internet access to begin with if you have such a policy disabled.
for your case, you may want to try to set restriction to ALLOW internet access then specify youtube.com under Website Blocking by URL. this would allow computers to have access to the internet all the time (if you have the schedule set to EVERYDAY) or during specific days and hours but NOT have access to youtube.

Problems with block master - detail in forms 10g

I have a master-detail block, when the record is empty it shows nothing of the teacher, but the record there, thought it was the relationship, but the clear and ran as if it and the error still persists. I need to show me the teacher, although in detail there is no record.
If anyone can help me they are grateful. Do not know if there are any restrictions in 10g, and I did a master detail with the same tables in 6i the error does not introduce myself.

Problem with "Blocked Plug-in"?

All of a sudden, any graphics from any website display a blank screen that says: "Blocked plug-in", and routes me to request an update from Adobe Flash player. When I install, I go back into a loop > Blocked plug-in > install update etc. I have a Mac OSX with Safari 5.1. Also, my email service, GMail tells me that my current version of Safari is no longer supported and to upgrade but with no info as to how.
What to do?

1. System Preferences > Flash Player > Advanced > Delete All
     Press the "Delete All" button
     Install Adobe Flash Player.

   Download it first.
   The next step is important.
   Click Safari in the menubar and select “Quit Safari”.
    Follow the prompts and install it.
    Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
2. Allow Plug-ins
    Safari > Preferences > Security
    Internet Plug-ins > "Allow plug-ins"
    Enable it.
    Press " Manage Website Settings" button for more options.
3. Safari > Preferences > Privacy
    Press the button “ Remove All Website Data”.

Problem with blocking of the stock by the contract
