Rms space corrupted

Hi,
Im having the following error message:
" javax.microedition.rms.RecordStoreException: RecordStore information has been broken: java.io.EOFException: requested to read 94 bytes. but 76 bytes read."
The problem seems to ocurr when saving the data to the rms, an incoming call is received, and the app is suspended, after that the rms file get corrupted. I couldn't find documentation of this error or a way to solve it.
i try with:
availrms = RecordStore.listRecordStores();
but listRecordStores returns null, and if I try to create the rms again, or delete it, i get the same error.
It?s like the recordstore space has been corrupted, so i have to delete the app, and reinstall it (loosing the clients orders in the process), is there a way to "format" the rms space in order to create the files again? or how can i detect the corrupted rms files and force a deletion of them individually.
The data inside the rms files, are saved in plain text.
Thanks in advance for any help

if its for Blackberry i would recommend using PersistentObject feature instead.

  • Color Space corruption in CS5 v.12.0.4

    I have been having a great deal of trouble with colour instability since  recent updates to CS5 also. Am running XP64, CS5 12.0.4, Camera Raw  6.4.1. I run Adobe RGB 1998 workflow from camera to printer.
    Seems to be totally random result of some files returning an sRGB colour  space and some returning AdobeRGB 1998 when converted to jpegs for  printing. Same result for scanned images too, so it is not the camera.  The 32bit version appears to be worse, but the 64 bit version does it  too.
    EXIF details in Bridge show Adobe RGB, but this is not the case when  viewed with a hex editor. I processed the same two files (one a psd  & the other a tiff) no less than seven times with totally random  results. I could not return a pattern. Sometimes sRGB & sometimes  Adobe!
    The only way I can get around it is to include a new line in the action  that sends the files to the print output folder which is: Edit/Convert  to profile/AdobeRGB 1998. This seems to ensure me the result I need to print accurately.

  • Imac shutsdown during startup

    I just tried to install Snow Leaopard on my Imac G5. It faild as the "contents of the hard disk could not be changed" so I quit the installer and went to restart the mac from the hard disk. Now it starts, but shuts down after a few seconds of starting up. Any ideas on what I could do?

    casey, how full is this HD of yours? Some of your symptoms sound like the sort of thng that can occur when you are down to the last few Gigavytes and are suffering from free space corruption etc. It is possible though that your drive is failing. If you haven't already then you should back up everything that is important to you to DVD's or an external drive, in case it fails.
    You mentioned replacing the drive in your earlier post. This would make sense if it is either too small for your current needs or is failing.
    As far as buying new HD's go, you need a "SATA" 3.5" drive from a good manufacturer. I like Maxtor DiamondPlus SATA drives myself, but other people swear by other brands..You should be able to buy one at any good computer parts dealer (doesn't need to be from an Apple dealer). The instructions for replacing a drive can be found at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300205
    Get as big a drive as you can afford. If you currently have an 80 Gig drive, then look at the 250 or 300 gig models. If you already have a 250 Gig drive but is close to full then think about a 400 gig drive. The bigger the better really. If you shop around you will find that some very good deals can be had. Google is your friend for this! Post back if you want to check whether one that you have found is right for your computer.

  • Help opens by itself

    WIndows 7 x64   |   PS CS6
    For no rhyme or reason, Help often opens itself. Just now while attempting to edit a Channel Mixer adjustment layer's creation dialogue's settings, about 15 browser windows (not tabs but individual windows) trying to load Adobe help docs all popped opened simultaneously.
    Killed Firefox's process and went back to PS.
    Every time I went back to PS though, it would happen again, when I clicked in the Channel Mixer settings.
    Got out of the loop by mashing the ESC button as I switched back to PS, which successfully killed the Channel Mixer dialogue.
    I've seen this behavior in PS for about 4 versions now, but never this severe. How dysfunctional.
    Any comments/thoughts?

    It's apparently more or less severe (all the way to non-existent) depending on some unknown factors.  Best guesses seem to be that it's "general memory space corruption".
    I once had it pretty bad with Photoshop CS5 then it was solved completely by a display driver update.
    There's a big, long-running thread on it over on the photoshop.com forum.

    The other issue is your hard drive, free space, corrupt directory or something, and you first need to insure backup, have used Mountain Lion Recovery Mode to repair the drive and system partition both, and do a safe boot on restart to assist.
    You have multiple other devices - try disconnecting those and wifi and try again also as a test and troubleshoot if the error still occurs.
    Modem issue is likely a separate issue of its own to deal with or may be the source of trouble. Any modem (and router) should be on filter/surge proection (UPS even better) and ISP can log into the modem and see if there are errors or packets being thrown away or other errors. (I keep a safe spare on hand for troubleshooting, and have cable and cat5 cable running thru UPS as we get more than enough storms and knocking out power is a lot of trouble). Your service or your needs may be different.

  • HT5318 Ever since I updated what looked like iTunes 10.6.1 my computer has been corrupted with Malware, which has filled up all available space on my hard drive.  What do I do to get rid of the Malware?

    Ever since I updated what looked like iTunes 10.6.1 my computer has been corrupted with Malware, which has filled up all available space on my hard drive.  What do I do to get rid of the Malware?

    First, reboot. That will temporarily free up some space. According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB free for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of your data.
    Use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space.
    Proceed further only if the problem hasn't been solved.
    ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To really see everything, you have to run it as root.
    First, back up all data if you haven't already done so. No matter what happens, you should be able to restore your system to the state it was in at the time of that backup.
    Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
    After installing ODS in the Applications folder, drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
    sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
    You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up.
    I don't recommend that you make a habit of this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. When you're done with it, quit it and also quit Terminal.

    Hi,
    I have a tablesopace with 3 datafiles, out of which one datafile has corrupted block. But no objects or data is affected as the corrupted block os in free space. This was shown in the alert logs.

    I’ve checked all the tables (and indexes) in this tablespace and none report corruption.
    =====================================================Is there any action I need to take to remove corruption at this point?It is not affected any operation on the database yet.
    What is the best way to do get rid of the corrupt block, without dropping and rebuillding the full tablespace(which is around 6 GB -total of 3 datafiles)
    Thanks a lot

    Can RMAN recover the datablock from this cold backup(which is a week old, the data file was not corrupted then) ?Please note that to do the recovery, you would need the backup and the archivelog files since the backup. Think about what you are asking to do. Its a single block whose recovery you are asking from a week old backup which obviously would be on an much older SCN compared to the rest of the database. How would you make that block consistent with the rest of the datafile. If you don't have archivelog in that db whose block is corrupted, you may forget that block and any data that it might ever had. Also, please read the documentation about the block recovery which explains the requirements very clearly,

    From the above link, 1st point,
    The target database must run in ARCHIVELOG mode and be open or mounted with a current control file.HTH

  • Ipod Corrupted? No iPod in iTunes? Space being taken up on iPod when empty?

    I have a black 80gb iPod classic, I'm pretty sure it's the newest generation. I've had it for about a year & use it constantly, & besides a few common errors it's always worked fine. Before I had my 80gb I had a 2gb iPod nano for 2 years & it worked fine also. The other day I was listening to it & turned it off for about an hour. When I turned it back on all my music, videos, and the one game I purchased were deleted. Default games still worked, clocks I had set up were still there, & every other default thing was still there; the thing is, 14 gb was being used & that's how much space I using before. I get home & plug it into iTunes & it says "The iPod 'Matt's iPod' is corrupt." It said nothing about how to fix it, but I thought of restoring it since something similar had happened to my nano & it was fixed by restoring it. Yet, when I clicked on my iPod, the screen said my corrupt & the normal screen with Update,Restore,memory used by iPod, picture of my iPod, etc. was gone. I close iTunes,take out my iPod & try again, this time my iPod's not even in iTunes. I searched Yahoo! Answers & other sites like that, the Apple Support site, everything & tried everything: tried updating my USB but it's updated as can be & Windows recognizes my iPod like normal, tried different versions of iTunes with no luck, tried searching my iPod (& iTunes) for viruses & problems, disk mode, dll's, even tried formating my iPod. So as far as I can tell, my iPod is working fine since it turns on & I can go through everything normally, but for some reason it can't be detected in iTunes.
    My iPod has also been fully charged the whole time.
    Try to help based on that info, the more I figure about what's wrong out, I'll update.

    Not certain from your post if you have tried changing the drive letter of your ipod.
    Try resetting the ipod, or putting it into disk mode before connecting it. If that does not make itunes recognize it, then you may need to change the drive letter of your ipod.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1493
    If you can't see the ipod in disk management, before you connect the ipod, open itunes, select edit/preferences. This will make itunes busy. Then connect the ipod.

  • Block corruption in Free Space

    Hi,
    Environment:-
    Oralce 10.2.0
    Windows platform
    I am facing problem of Logical block corruption.
    RMAN validate block corruption (DBVerify as well) But no entry in Alert log file.
    When I check Which segment has block corruption I found that block corruption are in free blocks of tablespace (DBA_FREE_SPACE).
    To Fix it I create table and allocate corrupted block to that table. I confirm corrupted block allocation in table (using DBA_EXTENTS).
    But when I insert rows in that table to reuse corrupted block Oracle give error of ora-1578 Block corruption, and I am not able to reuse corrupted block(as many expert suggest to overcome block corruption in free space).
    I dropped table and recreate and repeat this process many times but still no success.
    So. can anybody help me on this.
    I appreciate your efforts and time you spend to read this
    Thanks

    Hello,
    Please check the link i posted.
    Example: Detecting Corruption
    The CHECK_OBJECT procedure checks the specified object, and populates the repair table with information about corruptions and repair directives. You can optionally specify a range, partition name, or subpartition name when you want to check a portion of an object.
    Validation consists of checking all blocks in the object that have not previously been marked corrupt. For each block, the transaction and data layer portions are checked for self consistency. During CHECK_OBJECT, if a block is encountered that has a corrupt buffer cache header, then that block is skipped.
    The following is an example of executing the CHECK_OBJECT procedure for the scott.dept table.
    SET SERVEROUTPUT ON
    DECLARE num_corrupt INT;
    BEGIN
    num_corrupt := 0;
    DBMS_REPAIR.CHECK_OBJECT (
    SCHEMA_NAME => 'SCOTT',
    OBJECT_NAME => 'DEPT',
    REPAIR_TABLE_NAME => 'REPAIR_TABLE',
    CORRUPT_COUNT => num_corrupt);
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('number corrupt: ' || TO_CHAR (num_corrupt));
    END;
    SQL*Plus outputs the following line, indicating one corruption:
    number corrupt: 1

  • Block Corruption In Free Space Chuck Of A Datafile

    Hi all,
    I have run into this issue where both dbv and rman have caught a block corruption on one of the datafiles. When I checked these blocks, they did not belong to any segments and I was able to verify that this block ID falls in the block_id + blocks range in the dba_free_space where file_id = 41.
    My questions are ...
    - why is rman complaining about a bad block in free space? It will never need to back it up any way?
    - According to note 28814.1, this type of corruption can be ignored and if when oracle needs to use this block, it will simply create/rewrite a new image without the corrupted data. Have you been affected by this issue? If yes, what did you do?
    Thank you

    1. "why is rman complaining about a bad block in free space? It will never need to back it up any way?"
    Because it is doing its job.
    2. "Have you been affected by this issue? If yes, what did you do?"
    In what version? I generally find it helpful to read the docs and check discussions of issues on metalink.

  • 'Back-up is corrupt.', "Not enough free space"

    I got my third ipod touch (4th gen) yesterday and I'm having trouble backing it up to my iTunes account. The first time, after it tried to restore, it said "The backup is corrupt or not compatible"-something like that. Later, it tried to sync and I got another pop-up, something like "There is not enough free space. free space needed is 2.77 GB". i then deleted several songs and apps until it went down to 1.01GB. I then started unchecking things, etc. At one point I had absolutely everything unchecked. The colored bar at the bottom that tells you the number of what data is songs, books, etc. was one big yellow bar of "other" (even though I had apps, movies, etc. unchecked!!). I then tried to sync one more time...and it STILL needs 1 megabyte, yes, just 1 megabyte. i didn't have this problem at all when i backed up my second ipod...(my first ipod broke, my second was lost). The only difference is...this ipod is white. the other 2 were black. does it really make a difference? Oh, and I did another restore today...same "backup is corrupt message"... I x-outed and open up itunes again on my computer, it tried to sync but once again i got "needs 1.01 GB" (everything I unchecked before is back, the bar of data is now a rainbow again). Oh and one more thing: my second ipod was having numerous problems just before it was lost...whenever I synced it, it would often disconnect itself because "the temperature was too high" (when it was room temperature) or "this device is not compatible" (even though I was using a USB chord). I would almost always get pop-ups about there not being enough storage for the backup on iCloud...but I'm not using iCloud, I'm using iTunes on windows...what can I do????

    Thanks for taking the time to follow up and offer your insight. It looks like your solution hasn't really worked for me, but what I have noticed is this:
    It seems to occur when I change my backup option from "computer" to "icloud"
    I suspect that itunes does not like me switching it back and forth, and bugs out upon syncing.
    If you're wondering why I switch between the two, sometimes (like last week, when a new over-the-air update was released), I wanted to update my iOS immediately, so as usual, I *always* backup before upgrading the iOS.
    I'll try deleting all my iCloud backups, and see if we have some success.
    Stay tuned.

  • How do I recover iMovie files corrupted by running out of disk space?

    I've been using iMovie HD 6.0.3 to create recordings using a webcam from time to time. Usually I just leave the camera on during presentations. On two different occasions I ran out of hard disk space, and have been unable to playback the videos I've recorded. One is very important and I'd like to save it if at all possible. The video data is definitely on the hard drive (I have a 9 gig file), however, attempts to play it using Quicktime Pro or iMovie fail. iMovie acts as if the movie contains no data even though over 2 hours were recorded. (Quicktime Pro responds with a Mac OS Error -1409)
    Apparently if iMovie runs out of disk space during a recording, it is unable to save or later recover the file properly. While it seems to store the video data, perhaps the file is missing some sort of critical markers or pointers.
    Does anyone know of a way to recover the video from this file? Perhaps there is a tool to somehow pull the video stream out of the corrupted file that was saved by iMovie?
    Please let me know if you have any ideas! It is very important that I recover these files. Thanks!

    Hi QuakingBog - What happened when you discovered this situation?
    1. There was an error displayed on the screen saying it was almost out of disk space.
    Did iMovie remain open, with the file showing in the Clips Pane or Timeline?
    2. The clip I was recording went from showing the image which was on the camera and elapsed time (which had been over 2 hours just before then) to showing just black and showing a total record time of 0:00 as soon as it ran out of disk space. Even though lots of data was recorded, it went back to looking as if nothing was recorded.
    I would be surprised if iMovie 'saved' it of its own accord (it has no auto-save feature). Did you hit Save? If there is a 9 GB file, then obviously somehow something was saved.
    3. Yes, I hit save. I also hit "Save As" after this and saved it to an external hard disk with more free space as well. I can't get anything to play from either place.
    Have you checked within the project 'package' to see if there are any files actually saved? To check, Control-Click on the project (with the star on it), and select Show Package Contents. Anything in the Media folder? Look for a .mov file in one of the folders - does it play?
    4. Yes, there are files in there. There is a Clip 01.mov that is 9.29 gb, but it won't open or play.
    In cache there are...
    Timeline Movie.mov 8KB
    Thumbnails.plist 4K
    Timeline Movie Data.plist 4K
    In media there is also...
    My Great Movie~ 4K

    Any further suggestions would be very appreciated based upon this additional information. Thanks for helping!

  • Changing sample rate corrupted space designer.... somehow.... HELP!

    This is a new one to me, so it's very difficult to explain whats happened. I'll start from the beginning.
    I created a new, blank logic file with a sample rate of 96.
    I created a new software instrument and began to fill it out, adding some compression, some eq, and a little bit of reverb. The reverb came from space designer, using the small room preset "Thicken Vocals". So far so good. No problems, everything's working fine.
    I open Reason to rewire in (and ultimately track and record) some drum samples out of reason. The sound is coming out of reason into an aux bus in Logic, and that aux bus is being used as the input for a new audio track. I lay down some midi notes, play back the drum audio out of Reason and hit record on the audio track, essentially making an audio file of the drum samples coming out of logic.
    During this, something happens. Rewire is doing a LOT of work balancing the sync, the sample rate, etc.... and somehow, SOMETHING freaks out in the space designer i was using as some subtle reverb for my software instrument in logic (this software instrument is UNRELATED to the Reason audio).
    Now, when i hit play, the space designer just produces a loud, annoying pop. If I CHANGE the space designer preset, everything is cool. If i change it back to "Thicken Vocals" under small rooms.... POP.
    Worse, it seems to be a permanent problem.
    SO --- Ive done a LOT of trying to figure out whats going on. I create a new document and recreate the software instrument. I browse to Thicken Vocals... POP! I tried to replace the IR that "thicken vocals" is referencing by overwriting the file from a system backup I have (an IR called "0.03s_Room Vocals")... still no dice.
    Here's where it gets strange. It works FINE if the sample rate is 44.1... I can browse to "Thicken Vocals" and it loads up and init's fine, and everything is golden. As soon as I go to 96, or load it up when the document is set to 96, that's when it freaks out. NOW, if i adjust the falloff curves of the reverb just enough, THEN it suddenly works again, even under 96k.
    So, in a nutshell, at 96k, when I load "thicken vocals"... it almost appears (even according to the waveform Space designer draws) to misread the IR waveform, and it plays back as a POP. If I adjust the Falloff curve, it corrects itself, and the waveform even redraws! At 44.1, there are no problems.
    I did NOT have this problem before... does anyone have ANY clue what could be tweaking my system right now? I can post more details if I haven't posted enough... including pictures.
    THANKS!!
    Chris

    You might have a corrupted song file. Possibly your autoload as well. Try trashing logic prefs and rebuilding you autoload. Also, repair permissions and maybe even try updating the prebinding in the terminal. Another possibility could be a conflict with the driver of the Audiowerk8, unlikely, but possible.

  • Corrupted Storage Spaces Protective Partition

    I am running Windows 8.1 pro build 9600
    In addition to the boot and data drive, I had two internal 2TB drives set up to use all their available space as a mirrored Storage Space Protective Partition, which, before the problem below occurred, contained about 1600GB of -- you guessed it -- largely
    un-backed-up data.
    I thought that if one drive fails, the mirror will act as backup, while stupidly forgetting the possibility of file corruption or ransomeware.
    So, while the computer was in 'sleep' mode overnight, there was a power cut, and when I tried to reboot, Windows automatic repair kicked in and said it could not fix the system.  I managed to boot to command prompt, and diskpart reported both offending
    1863GB GPT disks online, with no free space
    MOUNTVOL reported that the offending volumes had *** NO MOUNT POINTS ***.
    CHKDSK appears unable to work on an unmounted partition.
    I could try EaseUS pro data recovery, but from previous experience this will take anything up to 3 or 4 full days, and will not repair the damaged mirror.  However, I'm not sufficiently familiar with DISKPART to know if, for example, the RECOVER
    option might be helpful, or if it might further mess up the file system, in which case a commercial data recovery like EaseUS may have more difficulty in sorting out the mess.
    I'd be most grateful for some ideas about what to do next...

    Thank you for your reply.  Since my fist post, I have managed to start the PC from a duplicate boot partition set that I made after upgrading to 8.1.
    Disk manager shows the disks as present, healthy, and marked as Storage pool.
    However, all options are greyed out so I cannot assign a drive letter, and as before, MOUNTVOL reports
    *** NO MOUNT POINTS ***.
    The problem with the recovery apps I've tried so far is that after scanning either drive, they find the partition, but classify it as UNKNOWN.  If I run the same apps on other disks they can recognise all the usual FAT, FAT32, NTFS, ext2, ext3, ext4 etc.,
    but they don't seem to know about Storage Spaces Protective Partitions.
    Do you know of some recovery app that understands this type of partition?
    I know I can try getting the recovery app to read it as a RAW partition, but the problem there is that from previous experience I guess it will take 20 hours or so to run, and then not be able to build a useful directory tree.
    There are probably 200,000 or so files on the partition, of which I only need to recover one folder in which there are about 400 files not otherwise backed up.
