Role Attribute Rule - with arguments?

Hi all,
Is there any way to specify arguments to role attribute rules?
Seems like the xml-dtd it expects specifically discourages use of any arguments to the rule being called for any attribute.. Any feedback on this?
Thanks,
Adi.

Never mind, I found out that:
Each role-attribute-value could be determined by a rule, but no arguments can be specified. That means a separate rule must be created for each such role-attribute, but the good thing is all rules can be clubbed together in one file (easy to maintain) under the <Waveset> ... </Waveset> tag.
Adi.

  • Implementing roles and rules based authorisation with Azure AD

    Hi all,
    I would greatly appreciate some input on feasibility and patterns I should look at for a complex technical requirement that I am currently tasked with designing.
    We have a system that comprises a web and mobile app. In the past we have implemented session based authentication through ADAM and authorisation through custom business rules contained within the applications. The authentication mechanism is in the process
    of being migrated to Azure AD and authorisation is planned to be moved to Azure AD for our next release.
    Existing authorisation within our web application is already complex. We have users that belong to different groups with a range of permissions such as read, write or admin. Additionally each user is granted access to N customers and also N locations within
    each customer. We have a requirement that any number of combinations of customers and locations be supported. Users also need to have different permissions for each entity, i.e. read access to customer 1 location 2, write access to customer 4 and administer
    customer 7. Currently these privileges are maintained within a relational database and enforced as part of each PageLoad(). Essentially this is a combination of roles and rules based authorisation.
    We are struggling to represent this complex matrix structure within Azure AD and efficiently implement the authorisation decision in Azure AD. The driver for this technical requirement is to provide re-usability of the authorisation component to other (as
    yet unidentified) applications.
    Currently the best option we have come up with is implementing custom attributes for each class of permissions and storing within this 2048 bit field a bitmask that represents whether this permission is granted for a given location (which has a many to one
    relationship with customer).
    Any help or comment would be gratefully received,
    Phil

    Hi
    When "Advance routing" is used for Task assignment; the task service asserts the folllowing fact types : Task, PreviousOutcome and TaskAction to the rules engine. These facts gives all the reqd info about the task (like outcome of the participant, task stage .. etc)
    Now in the defined ruleset; we can have rules as per our requirement that can extract info from the asserted fact types and assign task to the required/next participant.
    Also note that we write the advance rules for exception cases only.
    For example; let's say all participants have 2 possible Outcomes [COMPLETE, RECHECK]. We have defined the ideal task routing flow as :
    Participant A -> Participant B -> Participant C. This is the flow when all participant selects "COMPLETE"
    Now suppose B selects outcome as "RECHECK" then the task shld move back to A. So for this case only we need to write a advance rule.
    Pls refer to the code sample at : http://download.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/hwf/workflow-106-IterativeDesign.zip

  • Import varying attribute dimension (with a load rule)

    How do I maintain varying attribute dimensions in a model with a large base dimension? It does not make sense to manually maintain all those members in the outline.
    Is it possible to import varying attribute dimensions (with a load rule)?

    That is true for regular attribute dimensions. Nowhere, I have found instructions how to do this for varying attribute dimensions (aka slowly changing dimensions) that change over time.

  • Help with Role Attribute config in ERM in SAP GRC AC 5.3

    Hello,
    I have a doubt.
    We are configuring the Role Attributes of the ERM in SAP GRC AC 5.3.
    Where can I get the Business Process & sub-process of a SAP ECC 5.0, in witch Tcode?
    An in the part of u201CProject/Releaseu201D where can I get this element from SAP ECC 5.0?
    Thank you in advance.
    Best regards.
    Pablo Mortera.

    Pablo,
       You won't be able to get BP, SBP and Project/Release information from any Tcode. Whenever security admin creates a role, they assign the role to a Business process, functional area etc. This information comes from Business.
    Project/Release field is used to identify the project name for which this role is being created/maintained.
    These are role attributes which help in role documenation so business needs to decide about the association.

    Hi,
    SE38 -> Enter program
    Select Variants button and display. In the next screen, enter a variant name, (If not existing , press Create to create new one), else click on Change.
    Now the selection screen will display with a button "Variant Attributes" at the top.
    Click on that button.
    In the next screen, go to the selection variable column of the date field. Press F4 or drop down and select 'D' for date maintenance.
    In the column "Name of Variable (Input Only Using F4)" press F4 or drop down, select whichever kind of date calculation you want and save the variant.
    Now whenever you run the prgrm with this variant, date will be displayed by default.

  • How to invoke a function with arguments in JSTL expressions

    Hi ,
    I want to know how to send arguments in the JSTL expression.
    I have a scenario like this
    for (int i=0; i<nicList.size(); i++)
                          NavigationItemControl nic = nicList.get(i);
                          ni = nic.getNavigationItem();
                          //scr
                          if (nic.isAvailable(Mask.SYSTEM))
                          { %>
                            <option value="<%=ni.getInternalHandle()%>"  <% if(pi.getNavigationItemHandle().equals(ni.getInternalHandle())) {%>selected<%}%> ><%=nic.getLabel()%></option>
                          <%
                        }   I was changed these code into JSTL ,the new one is
    <c:forEach var="nic" items="${nicList}">
                                                 <c:set var="ni" value="${nic.navigationItem}"/>
                                                 <c:set var="nicAvailableMaskSystem" value="${*nic.available*}"/>
                                                 <c:set var="navigationItemHandle" value="true" />
                                                      <c:if test="${nicAvailableMaskSystem}">
                                                           <option <c:if test="${pi.navigationItemHandle==ni.internalHandle}">  selected </c:if> value="${ni.internalHandle}" >
                                                                     ${nic.label}
                                                           </option>
                                                      </c:if>
                                            </c:forEach>in the above code I have problem with nic.isAvailable(Mask.SYSTEM),
    Can any one help me on this how can I invoke a function in JSTL with arguments.
    -Bhaskar

    JSTL can only handle getter/setter methods. You can't pass parameters to the methods.
    There are a couple of ways around this
    1 - set up "mask" as a seperate attribute of the NavigationItemControl bean.
    ie getMask() setMask()
    and then have your isAvailable method as
      public boolean isAvailable(){
        return internalIsAvailable(getMask());
      }Another solution is to define a static function and invoke it as a function.
    public static boolean navigationAvailable(NavigationItemControl, Mask);
    What does the isAvailable() method do? How complicated is it?
    Hope this helps,

    Hello, Please help this:
    I use <argument> tag to transfer some parameters to JWS application.
    I also use <associatio> tag to associate a specila file(such as .zzz) to JNLP. But when I doulbe click .zzz file, my application only get "-open" and file path as argument, those parameters in <argument> tag in my jnlp are lost!
    What should I do

    ..Is this a bug for JWS? No.
    ..association extensions tag conflicts with <argument>?Quoting the 'JNLP Specification', section 3

  • Automatically add user to an OIM role using rule

    Hi,
    I am using OIM11g and I have created a rule with condition
    Oragnizaion Name == testgroup
    I have attached this rule to an OIM Role testrole. but when I create user with organization as tesgroup, user is not attached to OIM Role testrole.
    thanks.

    Hi Rajiv,
    I agree with you as it was working fine in my env also but now suddenly its not working i tried to create new rule and role. One interesting thing if i change user's organization to testgroup1 and after that if i again change user's organization testgroup than this rule is working properly.
    Is this rule is related to Change Organization task ? as when I change value of organizaion then rule is working.
    thanks.

  • Marge Role attributes

    Hello Everyone
    I have next situation:
    For some Red Hat system five different roles was created. This roles set five different groups to user. Type of attribute assignment id "Authoritative set to value".
    When I try assign this role to one user, i can see in /etc/group, that user located in only one of assignment group.
    In system log, I can see that overwrite group value during update and reserve the last one.
    Can you tell me? how can I merge groups from several roles om on user??
    Thanks

    Hi,
    To merge value from multiple roles use "Merge with value, clear existing" on each role instead of "Authoritative set to value"

    Looks like you try to set the attribute 'Active' to Y which the DB assumes to be not valid data.
    Check what kind of data (e.g. numbers of strings or characters) is valid to insert for the attribute 'Active' in the DB and the EO and the VO.

  • Difference between roles and rules

    Hi,
        I like to know the difference between the roles and rules from basic..
    Pls do  the needful.

    Rules tells the object identification of the standard task.Many workflow systems allow for escalation rules to be built into the process, ie when a manager does not action a task it gets escalated via the workflow to another manager. If the escalation time frame is set to 5 days, you need to ensure your tests take this into account and the result might be longer test cycles.
    Tasks can be assigned to an organizational unit but the strength of the workflow system is to enable business rules which select users <b>according to the data being processed</b>. For example, you might have one group of users associated with one quality notification type. The workflow can be configured to query the QM module directly to determine the users. You can define fallbacks using the default role associated with a task and allow agents to be specified on the fly by a supervisor.
    Using workflow, one can manage various tasks or steps to be executed by different users (based on users or roles).An action can be assigned to user or to a role.The routing mechanism for work items uses roles and organizational assignments to determine who receives which work item.roles can be assigned to users while creating organization structure in ppoce.
    hope this information helps

  • Link rule with workflow

    Hi everyone,
    I'm new to workflows and I'm testing the creation of rules. I created the fm to determine the right agent, I created the rule, but I'm having some problems linking the rule with my workflow. Can someone point me in the right direction ?
    thanks !!

    Hi Bjorn
    Open the step you want to assign the role to in the workflow builder (make sure it is a dialog or decision task).  In the Agents section choose 'Role (or Rule dep on Release level)' and put the number of your rule in the next field to the right (do not enter the 'AC' identifier).
    Hit enter and you will see the Binding button appear.  Use this to assign elements from your workflow container to your rule parameters.

  • Creating a job with arguments

    Hi,
    This might sound really remedial, but can someone explain to me how I go about creating a job with arguments with programs. It errors out when I try to use DEFINE_PROGRAM_ARGUMENTS and when I try to use SET_JOB_ARGUMENTS_VALUE. Maybe it's the order I do it in. Any directions would be much appreciated. Thanks!
    Tony

    Hi Tony,
    Almost any internal error is an Oracle bug and you should report this to support.
    This is definitely not supposed to happen and I haven't seen this error before, do you have a test case throwing the error ?
    Using program arguments should be fairly straightforward. Here's a simple example with two varchar2 arguments
    -- create a stored procedure with two arguments
    create or replace procedure myproc (arg1 in varchar2, arg2 in varchar2)
    is BEGIN null; END;
    -- create a program with two arguments and define both
    begin
    dbms_scheduler.create_program
    program_name=>'myprog',
    program_action=>'myproc',
    program_type=>'STORED_PROCEDURE',
    number_of_arguments=>2, enabled=>FALSE
    dbms_scheduler.DEFINE_PROGRAM_ARGUMENT(
    program_name=>'myprog',
    argument_position=>1,
    argument_type=>'VARCHAR2',
    DEFAULT_VALUE=>'13');
    dbms_scheduler.DEFINE_PROGRAM_ARGUMENT(
    program_name=>'myprog',
    argument_position=>2,
    argument_type=>'VARCHAR2');
    dbms_scheduler.enable('myprog');
    end;
    -- create a job pointing to a program and set both argument values
    begin
    dbms_scheduler.create_job('myjob',program_name=>'myprog');
    dbms_scheduler.set_job_argument_value('myjob',1,'first arg');
    dbms_scheduler.set_job_argument_value('myjob',2,'second arg');
    dbms_scheduler.enable('myjob');
    end;
    Hope this helps,
    Ravi.

    Hi,
    Did you talk about the Microsoft Azure Active Directory Sync tool ?
    If yes, this issue occurs if one or more of the following conditions are true:
    An object in the on-premises Active Directory has an SMTP address that's the same as the SMTP address of the object that's reporting the problem.
    An object in the on-premises Active Directory has a mail attribute that's identical to the object that's reporting the problem.
    An object already exists in your organizational account and has the same SMTP address or mail attribute as the object in the on-premises Active Directory
