Role configuration Key
Hi All,
I want to know what is Role configuration key. I need to assign users to a particular role and enhance a componet view in WEB UI of CRM 2007 for particular users.
example:
For a particular group of users i need to change the view and restrict few fields or give only display access for input fields.
Early reply would be appreciated.
Thanx
Pandiyan.
hi
by authorisation keys we mean that we have a functionality in CRM by which we can restrict the role of the people working in SAP.
it is none othere than we have authoirisation objects we have which we use as key and how we do that is as follows:
Activities
1.Set up the authorization for your role in transaction Role Maintenance (PFCG).
2. In the Menu tab page, select Transaction.
3.Assign transaction BSP_WD_CMPWB for the BSP WD Component Workbench.
Set up at least display authorization for S_DEVELOP and S_DATASET.
In the Authorizations tab page, assign the authorization object for UI configuration CRM_CONFIG to the authorizations in your role.
Maintain the values for the following authorization fields:
UI Object Type (OBJECT_TYP)
Role Configuration Key (ROLE_KEY)
Component Name (UI_COMP)
BSP View Name (VIEWNAME)
Activity (ACTVT)
Generate the authorization profile and assign the users.
this is just an instance that how you use an authorisation object such that a key is generated which will alow you to restrict particular user to change ,display or maintain the data.
similarlyl you can use the other authorsaition object for your purpose.
hope it clears your doubt
best regards
ashish

How can I get role configuration key in an abap program?
Hello there!
In a abap program I would like to get which configuration key it is running.
The idea is, our abap program will decide which instruction execute depend on the current configuration key, but, we donu2019t know how to get this information.
Does anybody know a BAPI, BADI or something like that to do this?
Regards,
LaercioHi,
Threre is no standard API provided for this however you can use following code snippet do get your jobe done.
data: LV_PROFILE type ref to IF_CRM_UI_PROFILE.
data: LV_ROLE type string.
LV_PROFILE = CL_CRM_UI_PROFILE=>GET_INSTANCE( ).
if LV_PROFILE is bound.
LV_ROLE = LV_PROFILE->GET_PROFILE( ).
endif.
Now, the LV_ROLE will contain the ID of the Business Role.
If you're interested in the role config key you might add the following lines of code.
if LV_PROFILE is bound.
RV_RESULT = LV_PROFILE->GET_COMPONENT_PROFILE(
CL_CRM_UI_PROFILE_ROLE_CONFIG=>GC_PROFILE_ID ).
endif. -
Business Role - Configuration Key
Hi experts,
I have made a lot of view configurations on my configuration key. And now, i need another role with same configurations except 2 or 3 diferences. So i want to copy the configuration key with all its configurations. Does anybody know how can i do this?
Regards.
Sadi YılmazThere is a class named CL_BSP_DLC_STORAGE_UTIL with a method COPY_CONFIG(). I am sure you can write a small report looping over the entries in the configuration table for your role key. Best of all this method writes the transport entries for free =)
I think it does copy the texts you maintained on the view, too.

Role Config Key Not Working under Business Role
Hi Gurus,
I have created a Z role configuration key under a Z business role which is assigned to my user id. I have done some configuration changes under that role config key. Now when i login with my user id, i am not able to see the config changes. It always shows the standard config.
Please let me know if i have to do any additional thing to get the custom config.
Appreciate your inputs.
Thanks,
Sujani.Hi All,
I have enhanced the standard component IUICOBJD for the Point of Delivery view. I have written the following code in the DO_CONFIG_DETERMINATION
DATA: lr_config TYPE REF TO cl_bsp_dlc_configuration2,
ls_ui_profile TYPE crms_ui_role_profile.
lr_config ?= me->configuration_descr.
cl_crm_ui_roles=>get_role_attrib( IMPORTING es_role_attributes = ls_ui_profile ).
IF ls_ui_profile-role_config_key = 'ZPOD'.
lr_config->if_bsp_dlc_config_appl~set_object_type( '<DEFAULT>' ).
lr_config->if_bsp_dlc_config_appl~set_object_sub_type( '<DEFAULT>' ).
lr_config->if_bsp_dlc_configuration~set_component_usage( '<DEFAULT>' ).
lr_config->if_bsp_dlc_configuration~set_role_key( ls_ui_profile-role_config_key ).
However, The standard configuration is still coming. If i perform some action on the screen then it is taking the custom configuration. I want to display the customer configuration the very first time.
Please help me in this regard.
Thanks,

Ui configuration at run time using role config key and object type
Hi experts,
Let me start by admitting that I am very new to the crm webui. I have a requirement in which I need to create a few z business roles and unique role config keys for them. And I have been given some requirements like below.
- Access to Account, Service Request, Knowledge Article and FACT sheet data
- Able to display all service requests.
below is the processing logic that I have been told.
Using the role config key, different view configurations would be created for respective components in
the component workbench.
Based on the business role, respective role config key would be picked up and the corresponding
view would be displayed on UI.
In addition to this, in the IMPL class of the component work bench, DO_CONFIG_DETERMINATION
method could also be used to specify which role config should be picked up.
Do they mean that using same role config key, I need to create more than one UI configuration? I was also told by some one that I need to create the configuration according to ui objects and sub object and then inside the DO_CONFIG_DETERMINATION methode, I can check the role config key and hard code the ui object and the sub object. But I do not know how to create them.
Could anyone tell me from where I can start and how to achieve this task?
I apologize if my question is very basic.Do they mean that using same role config key, I need to create more than one UI configuration? I apologize if my question is very basic.
You can do the following
a) Go to the view you want to create a new configuration.
b) Choose 'Copy Configuration' .
c) There you would be asked to enter the Role Config Keys , Object Name & Sub Object Name. You can choose your own names for Object Names & Sub Object Name.
d) go to DO_CONFIG_DETERMINATION. There based on your logic you can load the configurations this way
IF (your_condition) EQ abap_true.
CALL METHOD me->set_config_keys
EXPORTING
iv_object_type = 'your_object_type'
iv_object_sub_type = 'your_sub_obj_type'
iv_propagate_2_children = abap_false.

Role Config Key when testing component using BSPWD_CMP_TEST?
Hello,
I have component view for which we have done some configuration change and saved with some Config Key. This key has been already assigned to the business role. Now when testing this component how can I force the component to load the view based on this Config. Key?
Any help on this would be really appreciated.
Thanks and Regards,
VasuVasu,
You don't need the Business Role assignment via Org. Model to accomplish this.
For the Business Role >> assign a PFCG Authorization Role>> assign the right Role Config Key that you used for changes on the front-end.
Now assign the user to this PFCG Authorization Role in (Transaction PFCG) or can be done from SU01 for the user. (*Optional: see that you assign the same Business Role to the Parameter CRM_UI_PROFILE-this is not required).
It's only the PFCG role that controls the authorizations for what is displayed and config changes relating to the role config key and the business role.
And this should work without errors.

Configuration Key link with Business Transaction
Hi Frds,
Where can we identify the Business transaction type link with the configuration key. I am looking at code place prospective not by pressing f2 in the UI.
Please suggest.

ImranHi,
you can get configuration details usinf class cl_bsp_dlc_configuration2
Take configuration in DO_CONFIG_DETERMINATION
DATA: lr_my_window TYPE REF TO cl_bsp_wd_window,
lr_configuration TYPE REF TO if_bsp_dlc_config_appl,
lr_configuration_c TYPE REF TO cl_bsp_dlc_configuration2.
lr_configuration ?= me->configuration_descr.
from lr_configuartion you can get attributes OBJECT_TYPE,OBJECT_SUB_TYPE
lv_object_type = lr_configuration->get_object_type( ).
lv_obj_subtype = lr_configuration->get_object_sub_type( ).
COMPONENT_USAGE you can get using window
lr_my_window = me->view_manager->get_window_controller( ).
IF lr_my_window IS BOUND.
lv_usage_name = lr_my_window->get_component_usage_name( ).
ENDIF.
ROLE you can get using class cl_crm_ui_profile
DATA : lv_profile TYPE REF TO cl_crm_ui_profile,
lv_role TYPE string.
lv_profile ?= cl_crm_ui_profile=>get_instance( ).
lv_role = lv_profile->if_crm_ui_profile~get_profile( ).

Just prior to the crash...
...it seems like VS 2013 is attempting to log me in to a company server (active directory?). Regardless of my action (providing my login credentials or cancelling the login) VS 2013 then proceeds to crash.
My other computers
On my private laptop that connects to the internet via a private internet connection, the same type of project loads the configuration page w.o. issues (same VS and SDK configuration).
Others have this issue as well
There is also a thread about this on SO, although without a solution:
Visual Studio 2013 crashes when opening up service configuration for edit
Can anybody provide any help about how to solve this, please?
Br,
ClausHi Will
Thanks for your answer - I have added my findings below:
The problem apparently stems from the authentication process.
If you are using your company email as username on Azure, the inherent domain name will cause the authentication method to redirect you to your company's Active Directory.
The problem can be solved by choosing a different email as username on Azure.
The problem can also be replicated by setting up a website with authentication using Azure Active Directory. During login through Azure AD, the exact moment you enter the domain name in your username, the login screen redirects you from the Azure AD to the
AD at sts.[email domain name] - and consequently, the login fails. Using a different username the Azure AD authentication works flawlessly.

Excel 2007 ignores the roles configured on SSAS 2008
Hi,
I am facing a common problem for which I have found very useful threads but they didn't manage to help me.
My problem is on excel report, Dimension data is not filtering correctly when I connect with user credentials for which a role is configured on the cube. Excel 2007 ignores the roles configured on SSAS 2008 and I tested with 2 different users with the same
role configuration.
I ensured that the user doesn't fall in the server admin role and . I started up an SQL Profiler and I ensured no * in the list of roles of the user. I ensured also that there is no "built-in administrators group" configured (Security\BuiltinAdminsAreServerAdmin).
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/7052f751-8478-4ab2-aba8-d250a1606e07/deny-access-to-analysis-services-cube-from-excel-2007
Also I am planning to upgrade my Service Pack 1 to the cumulative pack Hot Fix 2710 ( KB969099 ) as it seems there are some known issues about dimension security on SSAS 2008. Do you really think it is a question of upgrade?
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/4b4e6e3c-bebe-4f81-8462-b2d0bd61ad11/dimension-attribute-security-on-ssas-2008-not-working-but-works-fine-on-2005
However I managed to work around the issue on SSAS and on Excel as follow but it is the not the solution expected:
- On SSAS 2008 R2 cube browser, while testing using the role: Dimension values filtered correctly the required data
- On Excel: Unless the role is specified in the configuration of the connection then the data is not filtered.
http://kevin_s_goff.typepad.com/kevin_s_goff_weblog/2009/12/1242009---testing-ssas-roles-in-excel.html
It is really urgent,
Many thanksHello,
I'm experiencing exactly the same issue and I can't find any solution to it.
Were you able to solve it? If so, how did you do it?
Thanks!!! -
Default Role configuration in CUP
Hi Experts,
We are on GRC 5.3 SP9 and I am trying to assign default roles based on the request type
I want default roles to be assigned only for certain request type
these are the parameters I have configured
Consider default roles: YES
Request Type: NEW Hire
Default roles level: request
user attributes: Company
So I am forced to choose default role user Attribute Company.
I was expecting that whenever a request is created for a new hire I wanted such and such role to be assigned by default!
but now whenever a company( for which i mapped the default roles) is selected its putting default roles in all the request types
I would expect its only puts default roles for my request type NEW HIRE
for the respective company !
Any thought? I am missing something?
Regards
MKHello Alpesh,
SAP has come back saying that the application is designed that way always works with the comibation of user attributes
to me its clearly user attributes are taking over the request type ( clearly ingorning ) i dont see a point why they have field in default role configuration for request type ( Request type might as well be simply CUP)
they have asked me try with user attribute as system instead of company , looks like it works !
I will give you more info
Best Regards

ADDS role configuration with DCPromo failed , rc = 42
Hi,
i'm trying to build a Domain Controller (Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1) using MDT 2012.
I created a Standard Task Sequence and append the following:
"Apply Network Settings" Task to apply a fixed ip configuration to the machine.
"Install Roles and Features" Task to install ADDS
"Configure ADDS" Task to configure ADDS
The task sequence itself is working fine till it comes to the "Configure ADDS" Step. Here it fails showing me the following error code:
ERROR - ADDS role configuration with DCPromo failed , rc = 42
ZTI ERROR - Non-zero return code by ZTIConfigureADDS, rc = 42
Here is my ZTIConfigureADDS.log , any ideas what went wrong?
Thanks a lot !

AwenHi Awen,
Please open Server Manager > Roles > see if Web Server (IIS) has been installed.
If installed, I’d recommend you refer to Abdel’s method in the link below. He encountered the same issue when install SharePoint 2013 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and fixed the problem. For your reference:

Dynamic Configuration key length
I am using dynamic configuration to set certain JMS properties but it appears that the maximum key length is 20 characters.
Has anyone experienced this problem. Is this a bug?
Thanks
Here is my code
DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
DynamicConfigurationKey key1 = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/JMS", "com_inforecord_messageProcessor");
conf.put(key1, "SoapMessage");Yes, is possible.
