Rollup issue
I want certain member of my fact data not to rollup in the higher level,instead when rolled up to higher level it should show a particular value.
So i wrote this code,

But the problem is it is getting rolled up in higher level.
Please help me to find a way around.

Unless Q1 is at level 0 of Years, your code will never evaluate.
Is it at level 0 or a higher level.
Instead of trying to do this in a calc script, you might have more luck putting the logic into a member formula.
And in fact a TB Last might do exactly what you're trying to do without any formula whatsoever.

We are seeing a rollup issue on Alternate Hierarchies. We had set-up alternate hierarchies on our Country Dimension (DC) to assist some managerial reporting that is only relevant to one of our Operating segments.

We have our main Country hierarchy that comes under the root parent MAIN_HIER. In addition to that on our main hierarchy we had a calculated node for Calc Europe (C1) which is supposed to be a summation of DC Europe (D1) + Country E (E). We had created an alternate hierarchy to represent a breakdown by more subregions (SG1, SG2, SG3 and Country E) within DC Europe so basically the root node of the alternate Hierarchy (ALT_HIER) should show the same amounts as the calculated node C1 on the main hierarchy.
If we take a higher level Account dimension member like NET_SALES the values tie out but if we take a base member in the Account Hierarchy (e.g one representing Customer Sales), the values don't match with the ALT_HIER values seem being the wrong ones. It almost seems like the rollups of the Alternate Hierarchy are not accurate.
Could you pls. shed some light on if the dimension member set-up above is wrong from any angle.
BTW, we are on BPC 7.0M SP04 Patch 2 and SQLServer version is SQLServer 2005 EE SP3.

Add "RollupChildren(Account.Hx.CurrentMember,"+") to all non-base members who don't aggregate properly under FORMULAHx. For instance, I have below hierarchy PARENTH1 for Balance Sheet Total Asset
BALSHEET
TotalAsset
-CurrentAsset
-NonCurrentAsset
If CurrentAsset and NonCurrentAsset all roll up fine but TotalAsset doesn't add up. In your Dimension, put MDX formula RollupChildren(Account.H1.CurrentMember,"+") for TotalAsset and BALSHEET under FORMULAH1.
We have this issue when we created additional hierarchies, and it took us a while to debug before I got this hint from SAP Support. Ever since it works like a charm =)

Rollup may fail due to Locking issues/when any parallel jobs are running like(Delete/Build indexes/Compress requests), so make sure none of the above jobs shouldn't run when rollup is running.
1)check for Locks in SM12
Rollup when it is failed with showing the Sigma symbol into the Target
Sigma symbol indicated that rollup is running, that is why it is getting failed when ur teying to repeat . so wait till it get compelted. check huv many records are there, if data is more then wait for some time, it'll completed automatically and u can see a Tick mark in manage. however you need to Repeat it in you PC. -
Parent Child Hierachy Revenue Rollup Issue

I have modeled my parent child hiearchy in such a way that revenue for each parent is equal to sum of his revenue and all his descendents. So If this my table

this is what my hierachy shows

Now this is working perfectly fine and this is how users want it to be. To roll up the revenue for all the descendents uptil the top level.
The issue is, users also want to see what revenue David contributed. Because, as per the above example, when they try to add 25(James) + 30(Terry), it comes to 55 and the revenue contributed by David (100) becomes implicit and David straightaway shows 155. So they want to have a small pop up or any other column in the report which bifurcates David's revenue with others just to add more sense to David's revenue of 155.
Is there any workaround which could be done in the same report or do I have to create a separate detail report ?

RonnyThanks Dpka, I did exactly that, there is a small issue. Let's say my hierarchy is (I have just dded one more level under David). So James and Terry reports to Thomas and Thomans reports to David.

David is the top level and Thomans the next level. Now when I click on David, it takes me to the target report and shows me the revenue as expected but when I click on either Thomas, James or Terry, it doesn't take me to the target report. At the bottom left it shows me an error. This is what the error is

I have a problem in Infoset.
Actually i built an infoset based on two infocubes.
One cube has - Customer, revenue, cost
Other cube - Customer, name, address

It doesnot consider the line 2 of 1st cube. I want it to rollup and show revenue and cost as 1020 and 52

Rollup Issue On Average Costing Method
Hi,
I want to understand correctly the meaning of the rollup on 'Average' costing method.
As I understand it, the rollup is meaningful on 'standard' costing method, when I change the costs for some/all items, and I wanted to update the cost of the items parents appropriately.
But in the 'average' costing, if I change the cost for some child item, the cost of the parent will changed by the average by the time.
When I use the rollup on 'Average' costing method ?

Essbase Q1 Year Tot rollup issue
Hello Everyone, I'm a Essbase newbie, just came back from the Oracle Essbase Bootcamp and already stuck on something (very simple) I presume.... I hope someone can point me in the right direction.
The only way i can explain this issue is that my Lev0 members are rolled up correctly but any higher members are not. ie, Units and List price is aggregated correctly on a quarterly level but my Gross Sales figures are being calculated in a strange way rather than just rolling up the figures of the months.

If you look at my Q1 data for Gross Sales data rather then being aggregated from the monthly figures, it is worked out by multiplying the Units and List price on the Q1 level. (ie. 524*600 and not by adding up the Jan, Feb March gross Sales figures(31600, 47600, 25600). Is there something I have missed, I;m using the Oracle Study guides and following the instructions to the letter, and in the Study guide the Q1 figures are shown to be added up correctly.

Hi there,
I have a problem with partitioning between two BSO db’s.
I created the partition, it validates and I made an export for the partion definiton(xml file).
Everything is fine if I set this partition up as transparent partition.
This means I can see the data from the src in the trg db as ecpected.
But when I change over to replicated (what in fact I want to do) nothing happens for the trg site - there are still no data. (Yes I have choosen Update all cells.)
I got no error in any way neither AAS nor in the app logs of src and trg.
(Mayby this it important: one src-dimension is mapped to void for the trg.)
Can anyone give me a hint or even confirm this behaviour ?

Clear Active on User [hyperion] Instance [1]It sounds like you are doing it all correctly. One thing you might try just to be sure you are not getting any data in the target database is the following:
1) clear the target database
2) Run the replication for all cells
3) Run an export of all data on the target database
See if you get anything in the export file, maybe you are getting some of the data or possibly it is a rollup issue. Just a thought.

Compression Error - Characteristic attribute exists twice

We are compressing some top listed productive cubes with process chain every week. But from past 3 iterations one of the cube is failing to do so. It is triggering an error
" *Characteristic attribute exists twice *". We even tried to compress the cube manually..but the same result.
Can any one suggest how to proceed to make the compression upto the mark.

Issues after installing Hotfix Rollup 5 for SP3
Hi,
Last weekend we installed Hotfix Rollup Pack 5 for SP3 on our (single) Exchange 2010 Enterprise server.
This was needed to fix the WebApp Light issue with IE11 and to fix the problem where users were unsable to delete mails sent from multifunctionals.
These 2 issues were fixed by installing the hotfix rollup pack, but now our users have different problems...
Some users (not all of them, haven't found a common denominator yet) report that they don't see new mails in their Outlook 2010 box, even though they got the envelope notifier.
When they change folder and back to the Inbox the new mail is suddenly visible.
Same sort of "delay" happens when users mark a message for follow-up or try to change a message from unread to read.
Some users also report that they see delegated mailboxes (mailboxes from other users that they have full mailbox access to) twice in their Outlook 2010.
Outlook 2010 is running in online mode (because it's running on terminal/citrix servers), so it's no issue with caching as far as I understand.
I've already checked if there are any updates for Outlook available, but we've installed them all already.
I though I'd found something:
Noticed a lot of errors in the application log on the Exchange Server which pointed me to this:

I've added the registry values now with a value of 1500, but unfortunately this didn't help.
The errors in the eventlog are gone, but even after restarting the IS some users still have these problems.
One user reported that it takes about 7 minutes for a read mail to actually switch to "read" when looking at his inbox.
Did anyone else notice these problems? And maybe have a fix for them?
I really don't want to roll back the update :(
I even rebooted the Exchange Server after installing the rollup even though that wasn't even necessary

If you do raise a support case to request this, please ensure that you review and understand the requirements for IU installation and removal.
For example: You *MUST* manually remove it prior to installing Exchange 2010 SP3 RU6.

Issue with Update Rollup 5 for Exchange 2010 SP3 - Mailboxes that were auto mapped not working
Below is my response in another thread but creating a new one in the hopes that someone has the same issue and a solution besides mine below.
Ever since we installed Update Rollup 5 for SP3 Exchange 2010 mailboxes that were auto mapped are not accessible. They all get the same error.
Cannot expand the folder. The set of folders cannot be opened. The attempt to log on to the Microsoft Exchange has failed.
What I have been doing is removing the users permission, then adding them back using the noautomap switch in Powershell. After doing that, the user manually adds the mailbox and all is well.
Just a note here, I suspect it may have something to do with the version of Outlook 2010. We are running an older version here. I think only SP1 with no other incremental updates. Office is up to SP2. Also, one of the users I was working with could not access
the mailbox no matter what we tried but she can walk over to another workstation and open Outlook and access the very same mailbox so that pretty much proves its software related particularly with Outlook.
I cannot reproduce the problem on a workstation (XP) with a newer version of Outlook.
This has been wearing me out and I suspected the Update Rollup all long. Now I am confident as others are having the same problem. If you find out anything on how to fix this other than the steps above, let me know.Not sure why it was suggested to use the auto mapping feature to grant permissions because that is the component that is causing the issue. Also, there is nothing wrong with the auto configuration because the user can access their own mailbox just fine and
also select mailboxes in their Outlook that were NOT auto mapped.
With that said, here is how I fixed them all.
Remove the permissions using the Exchange Console. Don't forget Send As
Wait about 15 minutes. The mailbox should disappear from the users Outlook
Open an Exchange PowerShell window and run the following command:
.\add-mailboxpermissionsnoautomap.ps1 -Identity mailbox -User user -AccessRights FullAccess
Have the user add the mailbox to their Outlook using the manual process.
All is well....
If you don't have the PS script add-mailboxpermissionsnoautomap.ps1, you can download it. I stumbled across it a few years ago and use it all the time. If you can't find it, just use the Exchange built in command for adding mailbox folder permissions but
specify automap $false.
The idea here is to grant the user access without auto mapping. -

Outlook Client Issues following Exchange 2010 Rollup 8
Update Rollup 8 For Exchange 2010 SP3 (KB2986475) was applied to our Exchange server last night.
All appears to be fine, but users are having all kind of trouble using the Outlook Client to connect to their mailboxes.
Randomly they can't view certain folders (Inbox/Sent Items). Can no longer save to their Calendars. Errors relating to permissions and Outlook notifications?!?!?!?!
This is ONLY when using the Outlook Client - webmail works fine.
There are also no issues when running Outlook in safe mode.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.

An issue has been identified in the Exchange Server 2010 SP3 Update Rollup 8. The update has been recalled and is no longer available on the download center pending a new RU8 release. Customers should not proceed with deployments of this update until the
new RU8 version is made available. Customers who have already started deployment of RU8 should rollback this update.
The issue impacts the ability of Outlook to connect to Exchange, thus we are taking the action to recall the RU8 to resolve this problem. We will deliver a revised RU8 package as soon as the issue can be isolated, corrected, and validated. We will publish
further updates to this blog post regarding RU8.
This issue only impacts the Exchange Server 2010 SP3 RU8 update, the other updates remain valid and customers can continue with deployment of these packages.

Exchange 2010 SP3 Rollup 6 issue with Forefront
This rollup, 2936871, when installed on a server having Forefront Protection for Exchange Server integrated with Exchange services, causing Information Store not starting. For this we have to disable the integration and start the services. When again you
try to integrate and start the services, Exchange services will not start. So you should not integrate Forefront with Exchange services at all, finally.
