Room Finder does not work

I've set up two room lists in a large organisation (50K users) running pure Exchange 2010 accross a huge cas array and multiple mailbox servers. I've added rooms to both lists and also checked that the rooms are set as the correct resource type. However
the room finder is empty. The problem occurs in both cached and online mode. Both groups were set up months ago (so not an OAB update problem) and are set as Room lists correctly. Also I can see the groups if I select them from the GAL. This issue affects
all users.
I enabled Outlook logging and get two errors when using the scheduling assistant:
2013/05/22 09:27:21.403: CRoomsCTP::FOnPutAppointmentItem(): HrSetASUrl failed. 0x80004005
2013/05/22 09:27:21.840: CRoomsCTP::HrGetRoomListAsync(): HrGetRoomLists failed. 0x8000ffff.
GAL is updating fine as is OAB. I have googled extensively and searched similar threads here but have not found an answer.
I have also checked the worktimes for the rooms in each group and they are set to 8.00am to 5.00pm so its not the outlook hotfix issue

Hello Tony, In case if it is working on your Lab environment and not on your production environment ..then it might rather be a server side issues specific to your production servers. I doubt about your Server's Mailbox Role being partially configured coz,
i ran in to a similar issue where i ran EXBPA and got the message "Mailbox Role PArtially configured".
After i fixed the mailbox role issue and got that installed successfuly, the issue was resolved. so, please consider running EXBPA to get additional information.

  • Room Finder is not working - neither Online nor Cached Mode

    Hello everyone,
since the migration to exchange we have problems with the room finder.
    Infrastructure is 2 Exchange 2013 SP1 in a DAG. DNS Round-Robin.
We created a room lists (distribution list not security) for each branch office that has meeting rooms.
Each room list has at least 3 meeting rooms.
Room finder does not select between the list and shows "none". This happens in Cached mode or Online mode. When we work with OWA (which we usally deactivate) you can select the list and then the free rooms.
Free Busy is working. When i use the scheduling assistant and add all rooms i can see the the infomations for all rooms.
Can anyone help with troubleshooting ?
    Best Regards
    Stephan

    Hello Satish,
how can I check that the room lists are in the OAB?
I tried with cached and with online mode. The rooms are created for over two months now so they should be included ;)
The URLs are correct. One internal and one external.
    I don't think the authentication is anonymous ?! Isn't that a security issue ?
    InternalAuthenticationMethods   : {Ntlm, WindowsIntegrated, WSSecurity, OAuth}
    Test-WebservicesConnectivity says success

    server.buhu.de              webserver.buhu-external.com        EWS: GetFolder

Is it possible to restrict EWS only to internal? We do not use Outlook Anywhere. Our users can only connect to the exchange server with VPN, without some exceptions who can use OWA.

  • Trackpad Scrolling and 'Find' does not work

I'm loving it so far on my Work IBM T43 / Windows XP. I always wished for this to come out and now here it is. I can't say though that it isn't without any issues such as the ones mentioned above [Trackpad Scrolling and 'Find' does not work]. I'm still playing around with but so far so good. Anyone else coming up with these issues?
Specifically I have to manually select 'Find' from the drop down File Menu under Edit and then once it has been activated, I can use 'Cntl + F' but then once I click on Done, nothing happens. I once again have to use it from the drop down. It's not a major thing but definitely a peave.

I'm on an IBM T60 on XP Professional and trackpad scrolling doesn't work
I hope this problem will be solve soon.

  • Finder does not working on Mavericks

    Dear all,
The Finder does not working on my newly upgraded OSX Mavericks!
Yesterday I have just upgraded my Macbook Pro (OSX Lion) to OSX Mavericks. Now the Finder does not working at all; by that, I meant the folder I had opened previously now keeps frozening. Although I have tried to "relaunch"/ "Force Quit" the Finder and Restart the computer for so many times, but the frozen window remains on the screen (the Finder is not responding), so now I couldn't do anything neither with my files nor the hard drive itself except web browsing and some applications.
Anyone share your know-how on this please.
    Thank you very much.

I also got this problem, I need some help right now.

  • Find does not work in numbers for iPad.

help, my company has an excel document which I have saved to numbers. But the find option DOES NOT WORK, when the find option is tapped the find screen shows up but only accepts on or two letters. Then when the wheel/ tool is presses the screen goes blank and returns to the desk top. I received an email from iWork but have not received a follow- up response. Help.

    Hi lkennon,
You need to select the text in the cell to make "Remove Link" active. First, make the column wider if necessary to give somewhere 'safe' to click to the right of the address
Now drag over the address to select it
and "Remove Link" will be active.
You may find this useful (turn Smart Links off)
Even so, pasting an already active link into Numbers seems to over-ride that setting. Use Edit > Paste and Match Style.
    Regards,
    Ian.

  • Find does not work - 9.1 Reader on XP Home SP2

I just upgraded to 9.1 on my XP home edition SP2.  Now when I try to do a "find" to search through a PDF it does not work.  It does not look like its even searching now.  I used to see the pages scroll on my previous version (8 i think ...).  When I try to search for a simple common word it finds and highlights a word that is not even what I searched on.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the 9.1 installer... but have not yet unistalled all the other various Adobe add-ons.
    Does anyone have any tips?
    Thanks

uninstalled and reinstalled an older version ... working fine now.

  • FireFox 4 Windows 7: Edit/Find does not work. Find Bard does not display.

Edit/Find or Ctrl-F does not work. The "find bar" is not displayed.

It is possible that the screen is too wide or too high and that the scroll bars and Find bar fall off.<br />
Open the system menu via Alt+Space and see if you can resize that window.<br />
If that works then close Firefox to save that setting.

  • Spotlight and Find does not work in 10.4.7 and Macbook Pro

I have this strange problem of the Find and the Spotlight not working properly. Whenever I pass on a word to search it doesnot give me the full list. e.g In desktop I have file UserValidator.java and in the Find window I give options: Name Contains "Validator". The list that it is showing is not having the .java file.
I am getting crazy what is happening. Has anybody faced with this problem.
    Thanks,
    Tanmoy

    Perhaps it's an Invisible item?
    In Find, select Other
It opens a 'search attribute' window, in that scroll to and select 'Visibility' (4th from bottom)
Check 'Add to Favorites' then OK
Then select 'Visibility' and on the right button 'Visible or Invisible'
    Search for your file

  • Finder does not work correctly

when i try to mark a part of text, sometimes mark it all and i cannot release for several times. Often, when i try to move a file from one folder to anotherone,it is not possible or the file like movie will open. Also when i try to move a folder in favorites, the finder will open another favorite Folder and does not move the folder i want, to the favorites. Please help, if you know something.

  • Finder does not work on OS X Yosemite 10.3.3

After I upgraded the new OS X, I have found the Finder app have been showing the notice like the photo in above.
Even I clicked the Reopen button, obviously it does not take any action or no response to show up the Finder window as well.
Please give me any suggestion to help me solve this problem issue. I am looking forward to see the Mac expert to rescue me.
    Thanks in advance folks .

What happens if you try starting up in Safe Mode?

  • FINDER Does not work on Macintosh HD

Well, I would like to think I'm not an idiot. But the finder will not find anything on the main "Macintosh HD" Volume. It will quickly find things on a DVD, CD, External Hard Drive. But on the main HD it will come up as 0 items found. Even when i put in one letter or something i KNOW is on the HD. I do not have any extra specifications setup to narrow the search so I do not see why it would not be finding things.

    Mac OS X 10.4.8
    Intel Core Duo

    Hello banda1ds,
I'm sure you are not an idiot.
Exactly how are you searching? I just used the Spotlight search field in the top right of the finder window to find something I knew wasn't on my hard drive and it didn't show any results but did not display a message saying "0 items found".
If that's what you are doing and the file is a normal user file (not a system type file that is not indexed by Spotlight) then it might point to your Spotlight index being corrupted somehow. You should therefore look at the documentation or these discussions for instructions on how to get it rebuilt.

  • Finder does not work after installing Yosemite

I loaded Yosemite and now my Finder will not load.  When I click on the finder icon I get a message Finder could not open.  I looked at what is currently on several boards and tried most of the suggestions including reinstalling Yosemite without success.  There is a black dot next to the Finder icon which blinks. I have an I MAC with 8 GB RAM and 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5.  Help would be appreciated.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter the name of the crashed application or process. For example, if Safari crashed, you would enter "Safari" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
    In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ User Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of crash reports. The name of each report starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report related to the process in question. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

  • Upgraded to leopard and now finder does not work

Hi there - I just completed a leopard upgrade. Strangely enough, after installation and the subsequent reboot, i cannot get the finder to work. Upon clicking on the finder it just sits there and gives the 'waiting' signal (rotating multicolor circle). I opened the activity monitor and killed it, clicked again. nothing. Rebooted numerous times.. nothing. I also tried to install the leopard software update. The files download fine but will not install. I assume this has to do with the finder problem. Any ideas on how to fix this? thanks!!

There are really two "Finders," the one in the dock and the one that actually runs the GUI.
When you click on your desktop, you see the Finder menu on the top right. Do any of those functions work?
For example, if you click Go->Home, does the Finder window open as normal?
If so, you may simply have a corrupted Finder alias in your dock.
I would first run DU and perform a disk check and repair permissions.
How to get to DU? Again, if the top right Finder menu works, select Go->Utilities and run DU from there.

  • Spotlight or Find does not work with server

At work, anyone still using OS 10.3 can use find to find files on our server. Anyone using OS 10.4 in the office can't. When ever I search for something, it just spins forever while a coworker using 10.3 does the same search and if finds the file in a matter of seconds. Any thoughts on how to trouble shoot this problem?

    Hi Preston,
Make sure users logging into the server have the correct permissions to read the folder, .Spotlight-V100, at the root level of the volume hosting the data on the server. OS 10.3 handles searching differently than 10.4 (Spotlight).
    Best,
    Sean

  • Bridge Cache Destination Cannot be Changed from Old User and Find does not Work

Often administrators find themselves in a position of making a new admin account to resolve a lost system drive or some compatibility problem.
If Bridge has a cache destination linked to this old account, it is due to the older admin account being deleted before the new admin account is setup in Bridge with the cache destination properly linked to the new user cache in the library locations for bridge caches.  This problem causes some headaches with things like keywords and find.
If you have had to restore your system or generate a "new user" account, it would be important to go into Bridge and ensure that your cache preference in pointing at the right location, before deleting the "old user".  If the "old user" is deleted, you might find the cache location locked to this "old user" in a file structure that no longer exists.  This makes if fixed and unchangeable.
If you encounter this problem, regenerate the old user name as an administrator account.  Go into that account and start Bridge.  Check the location of the cache file in the preferences.  You will see that it is located in the proper place for this new account.  It is also the same location as your current account which no doubt you have found is frozen into place.
At this point, while in the "old user" admin account:
Go get info on your "old user"/Library/Caches/Adobe/Bridge CS3/Cache
Note the folder nest and go to each folder and apply permissions to each of these folders that allow your "new user" read and write access.  You can do this in one step by applying the permissions to the Library folder and all enclosed folders, but who knows what that might do.  Focus on solving the problem.
    Then:
Switch back to your "new user" (that is your current user) account, open Bridge, go to the preference for cache and you will note, magically, it is now located in the right account, it has been unfrozen from the "old user", once deleted, and now brought back to life to help you get ride of this problem.
For good measure, press the choose button, you will find you go to the finder to the right location in your "new user"/current user account.
You will also find that FIND works after this and also Bridge is zippy and fast as it should be.
You can now quit Bridge, Log Out of your "new user" account, log back in and find that all is just the way it should be.  Once this is done, go into your system preferences for users and delete the "old user" account (into the trash, do not save a thread).
It seems that there are many situations where reviving and old user id will help with repairs to permissions problems in a mac that has been through system drive failure or significant application conflicts that require making a new user.
    Hope this helps someone.
