Rosetta compatibility? Painter? C1Pro? Central database

I'd like to know if there is a list somewhere of which non-universal programs (yet) will work with Rosetta.
Specifically, I'm interested in Corel Painter IX (since Steve has already said that photoshop works). I assume this includes the entire Adobe creative suite?
Just trying to decide whether to pick up an inel based Mac, and want to know what it will run. Thanks.

DB size is going to be too huge, you need to check for data archival option along with proper compression option.
As per requirement, you need good server setup like; CPU: 4 cpu, 12 cores and RAM will be good to start with 256 GB.
When you say 5 db server, is that it means 5 physical server not db instances rt?
If that is the case then you can go for SQL Server 2014 to use that in memory options along with so many good support for temppdb, query optimization due to cardinality changes, SSD support etc.
Intances will be:
INS1, 2 : main instance and archival instance, using first two servers out of 5 servers.
INS3: DR server, if it will not be active all the time and then we can easily check for 1/4 load on DR server so you can configure AlwaysOn to check INS1 and DR instance to get all HA DR part too.
In case of INS4, INS5 can be used for reporting purpose being configured as other replication to act as local DR too.
Hopefully I have covered all the available objects you have.

Data integration into One Centralized Database

Hi All
I would like to seek your advise on data integration.
I need to integrate different databases located different geographical location but same structure into once centralized database on daily or weekly basis.
The connection between the databases are very slow and not reliable.
What would be the best approach to integrate the data from different databases into one centralized database?

2. This will enable you collect data when the link is less utilized for merging
3. At the Central distribution database once you makes changes, because of the schedules replication configure earlier on, changes will be effected at your different geographical locations.
4. Don't forget to configure windows firewall (Inbound rule) on all locations to allow
default SQL Port 1433.

To make a central database

Please help me, I am in the following problem :
I have 16 branch office situated in different location. All offices are using oracle database 9i. Now I need to integrated and access all data in a single database.
All office is having only internet connection only.
Please provide the solution.
N.B : if i need to share single database in all branches, I mean, all branch office should logon to central database
and they will make their all transaction in central database. I have only internet connection in all offices.
How can i use central database for all offices using only internet connection. If the internet connection is enough, how much bandwidth required to make transaction smoothly.

Why do I get a class conflict between the Prepare SQL.vi and the Get Column Name.vi with the SQL Toolkit compatibility vis from the Database Connectivity Toolkit?

I have done extensive programming with the SQL Toolkit with LabVIEW versions through 6.1. My customer now wants to upgrade to Windows 7, so I am trying to upgrade to LabVIEW 2009 (my latest purchased version) using the Database Connectivity Toolkit, and the SQL Toolkit Compatibility vis. Everything seemed to be going okay with the higher level SQL operations, but I ran into trouble with the Get Column Name.vi.
The pictures below show the problem. The original SQL Toolkit connected the Prepare SQL.vi with the Get Column Name.vi with a cluster of two references, one for connection, and one for sql. The new compatibility vis have a class conflict in the wire because the Prepare SQL.vi contains a cluster with connection, and command references, but the Get Column Name.vi expects a cluster with connection and recordset references.
How do I resolve this conflict?

I've never worked with the old version of the toolkit, so I don't know how it did things, but looking inside the SQL prep VI, it only generates a command, and the the column name VI wants a recordset. I'm not super familiar with all the internals of ADO, but my understanding is that is standard - you only have the columns after you execute the command and get the recordset back. What you can apparently do here is insert the Execute Prepared SQL VI in the middle and that will return what you need.
I'm not sure why it worked before. Maybe the execute was hidden inside the prep VI or maybe you can get the column names out of the command object before execution. In general, I would recommend considering switching to the newer VIs.

Centralized Database and Application Control

I am looking for idea to centralized control software to manage (start/stop/display status) oracle database, oracle application or other component on unix box, it become harder to manage database (i.e. which command, where is database location/server name) when in organize have lots of database/application/server/version to manage. How is it managed from other people, idea is appreciated.

And I assume that you are familiar with all the Enterprise Manager plug-ins that let you monitor non-Oracle systems from Enterprise Manager.
If you are looking for enterprise management software that has no relationship to Oracle, any enterprise software company is likely to have something for you. But if you specifically want to exclude Oracle's offerings I'm not sure why you would post this request in an Oracle forum. Surely, if you want to use HP software or IBM software or some other vendor's software, it would be more appropriate to post in a HP forum or an IBM forum...

Data Type Compatibility - Excel as a database

Hello,
I put together a quick excel sheet to serve as an extra database, mainly to elaborate on specific users. I could link the "last name" fields from each table, but this doesn't work in the instance there are multiple users with the same last name. I don't think it's very functional linking first and last name... In one table (the one I must use) there is a character field called "CODER_ID" (characters because even though most of the ID's are numeric, there are some that have a -2) The column I wish to use in the excel sheet won't link to CODER_ID - I've tried formatting the column as general, text, number, etc but I still get the error that the data types aren't compatible.. plese help!

Using NDS with central database

Hi All,
Can anybody help me with this?
My local system has:
1. NDS
2. J2E Engine (WebAS)
and
Data Source pointing to a CENTRAL Oracle DB.
Is this possible? Can I have test my application on my
local J2E engine with my data sources pointing to a
CENTRAL oracle db?
And, How can I make my application use the Java
Dictionary Tables deployed on the CENTRAL server (i.e,
both the Java Dictionary table and oracle db reside in
CENTRAL server and not local)
any help would be appreciated.

I think you can do it by having a data source pointing to the centrally located db, and have your application lookup to this data source to obtain db connections.
If anybody had more information, that'll be appreciated.

Why is there a difference in upgrading early to the Galaxy S3 (i.e. the "Iconic Pre-order")? For example, i have a line with upgrade date 08/01/12...yet we have a "$100 off early Upgrade to 4g". I've been told this doesn't work on the Galaxy S3 an upgrade, yet i could upgrade to any other phone currently. To me this is unacceptable.
LAST QUESTION:
I've been instructed by a Verizon Rep that the only way to complete this is to perform an upgrade on the 28th for $100 off any 4g phone (let's say RAZR), renew the unlimited data, and then return the phone within the 14 day period for the SGS3 (but ya'll keep pushing back the release date, which is making me nervous). Will the system allow for switching out phones via your Return Policy after 06/28 while retaining the Unlimited data? If not it means anyone who upgrades their phones with unlimited data will not have a standard 14 day return policy.
Clarification would be great as there is no official word on this anywhere on the internet.

Is it possible using numbers to enter data on multiple devices and have them go to one location. We have employees using separate devices at a physical location entering data and we would like all that data to go to one spreadsheet.

Numbers documents do not provide for simultaneous access by more than one user. While in use, the document resides in the device on which it is being used. When it is closed (and saved) the revised document on that device replaces the original (or an already saved version edited by a different user. If sveral copies of the document are open at the same time, the version on the server will contain only the original version as modified by the last user to save.
Scenario:
User A opens document, and begins editing.        original on server
User B opens document, and bgins editing.          no change
User C opens document and begins editing.         no change
User B saves and closes document.                   version on server contains B's changes
User C saves and closes document.                   version on server contains only C's changes
User A saves and closes document.                   version on server contains only A's changes
Short answer: No.

Can an ARD computer database be stored in a central, shared location?

I would like to have the database of ARD computers made available to many users simultaneously. I do not want to have to have my own personal administrative laptop computer always available so that other users can get computer lists from it. Is there is way to put the ARD database in some central location so that these users can get to it? I am trying to avoid having every user of ARD having to discover and organize client computers. I am also trying to avoid installing a centralized ARD computer just to deal with computer lists.

I obviously know litte about ARD. Let me rephrase my question: Currently, we use Altiris to remotely manage our Windows workstations. It provides remote management, as well as package creation and delivery. I know that ARD does not do package creation. Other products are available for that; e.g., Apple's PackageMaker, FileWave's FileMagic. I just want to be able, along with a large staff, to manage Macintosh workstations remotely. I don't want everyone on staff to have to build his or her own database of Mac workstations. We have around 3,000 of them distributed over 60+ buildings in our 30,000+ student school district. Altiris holds a centralized database of workstation information which is used to remotely manage these workstations. We get to this management with a console client loaded on a Citrix terminal server. Is anything like this available from ARD? I realize that I'm probably talking "apples and oranges" here. I probably need a paradigm shift. Any ideas would be welcome.

Installing Java Add-In for an existing ABAP System -Error SQL compatibility

Hello gurus,
We have a system and it has only the ABAP instance! So my goal is install the JAVA iinstance. In this momment I´m reading the section "4.4.2 Installing the Java Add-In for an Existing ABAP System (Optional)" in installation guide "SAP ERP 6.0 SR3" (ABAP+JAVA). So, I want to install the JAVA instance which is the Java Add-In for an existing ABAP system!
So what I did was followed that instructions on that section in guide!
As you certainly know this process has three sequential phases:
1) Central Services Instance (SCS) Java Add-In
2) Database Instance Java Add-In
3) Central Instance Java Add-In
The first phase - Central Services Instance (SCS) Java Add-In - it already finished with success, but I´m faccing with a weird error in second phase Database Instance Java Add-In when I entered all required input parameters, SAPinst shows an error that says:
The database PRD has the wrong compatibility level. The database used for the installation of an SAP system must have compatibility level: 80 for MS SQL Server 2000 90 for MS SQL Server 2005 SOLUTION: See the MS SQL Server documentation on how to set the compatibility level for a database.
I don´t know what´s happen, in fact my database is an SQL Server 2008 (100), but I already change it at management studio, the compatibility level to MS SQL Server 2005, but still the error remains!!! I also tried to ran again the sapinst process, I restarted it but it still show me this error!!
Can you tell me why and how can I solve this problem?

I still have this error... I don´t know what do to more for this situation!
I found one not which report this error of compatibility - Note 1152240 - Setting Up Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (R2) - in chapter "VII TROUBLESHOOTING" which said to follow the instructions in chapter III - "Installing SAP systems based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR3".
When I read this last chapter (III) it tell us to do:
If you want to install an SAP system based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR3 on SQL Server 2008, you cannot use the Installation Master and Kernel DVD that you received from SAP or downloaded from SAP Service Marketplace. Instead, you have to do the following:
Patch your runtime libraries by applying the procedure that is described in note 684106 for your release and machine architecture.
Use a modified Installation Master DVD
For more information, see section "VI PROCEDURES" -> "Creating a modified Installation Master DVD".
Use a modified Kernel DVD
For more information, see section "VI PROCEDURES" -> "Creating a modified Kernel DVD".
I did everything that is said in the note (except the "Creating a modified Kernel DVD") because I can not access to the note 1480785 (it say: "The requested SAP Note is either in reworking or is released internally only")

Does MacBook come with rosetta?

Hi tomorrow I am going into the City to buy my MacBook and I was wondering does the MacbBook come with rosetta?
From what ive heard it's inbuilt into the OS but I just thought id double check.
And I was wondering will Rosetta let me run Macromedia Flash and adobe photoshop 7.0 ??

If an application is written only for PowerPC, it will automatically open and run with Rosetta. You needn't make any changes.
There are a few anomalies that programs have hit under Rosetta, but they are few.
