Round Corners on a table Indesign CS3

Hello, can anyone help me with achieving rounded corners on a table without drawing a box with rounded corners and drawing another box on top that contains the table data is there a way to do this ?
Thanking you in advance for any help on this.

There's a space at the end of the link that doesn't belong...

    How do I get rounded corners on a table in Robobhelp9 for WebHelp output?

    Hi there
    Personally, I'd be tempted to just use a background image to produce the rounded corners. Then overlay that with the cell data.

  • Hoe to create rounded corners for the tables in PDF output

    Hi,
    How can I format the table corners to be rounded in XML Publisher rtf file. Can any one help me in this.
    Thanks,
    HC.

    There is no direct solution, you need to use workarounds.
    Try having a shape such as a rounded rectangle on your table with clear fill and invisible table borders.
    This works perfectly well for static tables.
    I havent tried for for-each tables.

    i then select each column & tag itby the individual column names - ProductName, Description,etc

  • Table with rounded corners in CS5?

    I am dealing with an issue, I need a table with 2 rounded top-corners. The top row is a shade of black (and needs the 2 rounded corners.
    Here is what I do:
    I make my table with a regular straight angled top-row in it's own text-frame. Then adjust the frame to the table (cmd-alt-c). Select the arrow selection tool, cut the text-frame with the table. Then create a new text-frame with 2 rounded top corners. Then past the table into this new frame.
    What now happens is that the table does not snap to the 0 point of the new frame, but it insets on the left side. When I make it align right it does it the other way around. Plus the part of the top-frame with the shade of black does not cut of on the rounded part of the frame.
    I know another option is to create a text-frame with the rounded corners on exactly the size I need it in the table, and then paste this into the top frame of the table (making sure the inset is 0). But I would like to use this as a last resort.
    We have a preference for the first option I wrote about, since we are linking Excel files and then creating InCopy content. (If a table is not placed in a seperate text frame and then linked to the floating text, InDesign loses the link to the Excel.)
    Is this at all possible? From this site it seems it is ( http://www.justskins.com/forums/table-with-rounded-corners-117551.html )

    I first tried it in a text frame. Now when I do a 'paste into' in an image frame it seems to work, but now I have an extra frame in my workflow
    Table => text frame => image frame with rounded corners => text frame
    Ideal would be:
    Table => text frame with rounded corners => text frame
    But I am starting to believe that this is not possible in InDesign (since it moves the table in the frame)
    Now I will try to figure out if my Excel links will still survive in InCopy with the image frame option.

  • Round corners in tables

    Is it possible to create round corners in tables (CS5)? if not, WHY NOT?!
    This is so frustrating, I have many documents with tables that run across many pages. In keeping with my clients brand, I need to have round corners on the outer border and also want to have the the top panel with a fill and round corners.
    The following shows what I need.
    Any advice would be much appreciated.
    Helen
    This panel should have round corners
    Header 2
    Whole table whould have round corners

    not easily, at least not without a workaround.
    why not? well i didn't make the software so can't answer that.
    however, there are workarounds. go to the address below for an example:

  • Indesign cs3 for table and figure

    In Indesign cs3 for table and figure automation scripts
    Tables - auto align and place near citation
    Figures - place near citation with caption
    Its urgent

    ok, well, you may want to ask a question, rather than just stating what you need to do. also, people are helping you for free, so writing it's urgent won't get you very far.

  • Problem with Rounded Corners on EPS object in Illustrator CS3

    I'm using Illustrator CS3 and I have an EPS object which has rounded corners. When I export  the object and save it as a JPG the exported image takes on the shape of  the artboard (which is a square) rather than the shape of the EPS  object which is a square with rounded corners. I've placed the exported  JPG into my blog but when I look at it I can see a little bit of white  in each of the four corners. What can I do to stop this from happening?  In other words, I want my exported JPG image to have rounded corners  without the white. Please provide me  with as much detail as you can as I'm fairly new to Illustrator and I'm still finding my way. Thank you.

    Hi Graccon,
    The JPG format does not support transaprency. Either save as a gif or as a png. Or choose a matte color which matches your page background for the jpg.

  • Table with Round corners

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to display the table with Rounded corners,Please guide with the possibilities on this.
    Best Regards,
    Mahi

    Hi Mahi,
    Its not feasible with the tables provided in MS Word. If its going to be a fixed table then you can try this workaround. Have a rounded rectangle shape on the table cell with same size. And also you can have a 'NO Fill' for it or 'bring the text in front' options.
    You can have a look at [http://www.ecrion.com/Support/Resources/XSL-FOTutorial/Paragraphs.xml.html] -> 'Rounded Borders' section. The rounded corners didnt work for me in 10.1.3.4.1. You can give it a try.
    Hope this helps,
    Kavipriya.

  • InDesign CS3: Problem in creating assignment files through API.

    I had written some code for InDesign CS2 that allows user to
    create an empty Assignment file,export any selected pageitem and add to the Assignment,save the assignment.
    Now I have ported the same code for InDesign CS3 by following porting guidelines.
    I am facing an issue in saving the article. When any page item is exported and added to the assignment, the exported file name displayed under the newly created assignment in Assignments Palette of InDesign. But when i save the assignment the exported file is moved into UnAssigned InCopy Content in the palette.
    Also the final InCopy file doesnot contain link to exported page item file(.incx).
    I am using the following API in my code,
    void ExportStoryAndCreateLink(const UIDRef & story,const IDFile & file,
    const FileTypeInfoID & fileTypeID
    ) [virtual]
    Please post in this thread if any one has come across this issue.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi vivek,
    Have you tried adding the same document with the client ?
    OACT is the accounts table and this error message typically indicates that there is an account parameter missing somewhere in the system.
    Possible causes include:
    - you are using a tax group or warehouse which does not have all the required accounts set
    - There is a price rounding and the rounding price account has not been set in the account settings
    - etc.
    The first things I would check include the tax group settings and the G/L Account determination settings.

  • What's the benefits of Indesign CC over Indesign CS3 for print design?

    What's the benefits of Indesign CC over Indesign CS3 for print design? I'd like to know the advantages and features – all those I read about are to do with EPUB, collaborative working, teams or digital designs, and those don't reflect my work.

    Very important is the span column paragraph property which allows to span several columns in a text frame or to split a column in several sub columns.
    Very important is the tag feature, which is also important for creating PDFs with unlimited access.
    A lot of problems with footnotes and page layout have been solved due to a better text engine. Up to CS5.5 it could happen that a footnote could force a page be empty when a document was opened.
    With CS5 rounded frame corners which are editable were introduced.
    Object Styles have been completed since CS3.
    Content tools to create linked content were introduced. You need only to change the original content (text or image) and all linked content will be updated as any other link. The linked content can be in the same and in any other document.
    Since CS5.5 it is much easier to anchor frames in a text flow with the little at the top of a frame symbol.

  • Show size of rounded corners in Appearance palette

    Hi,
    I often use the Rounded Corners effect on objects, and I think it would be useful to see the size of the rounded corners in the Appearance palette. That is, it would be nice to see it automatically, without having to click on "Round Corners" to open up the Round Corners dialog box. The strokes tool shows the width of the stroke in the Appearance palette, so why not Rounded Corners?
    Thanks!

  • Stroke types and object corners options like in Indesign.

    Hi!
    In Illustrator CS3, is there stroke type options and object corner options like in Indesign?
    Thanks!
    Chris.

    No.
    Some stroke types are easy to make, such as dashes. Dots can be achieved using a round cap and a dash measure that begins with 0 (zero).
    Multiple strokes are trickier. Use the Appearance panel to add a new stroke. You can offset different strokes to achieve stoke/transparent/stroke patterns or stack a white or coloured stroke over another stroke to achieve black/white/black strokes.
    More elaborate stroke options are possible in Illustrator using pattern brushes.
    As for corner effects, this is one place where Illustrator falls flat on its face. The only corner effect you can apply is a rounded corner, and the effect applies to the entire path, not corner-by-corner as in InDesign. Illustrator’s rounded corners also such for anything other than 90° corners.

  • [Solved] How to force enable rounded corners in a theme on GNOME 3.16

    Hello
    I just recently started using arch (and I regret why didnt I use it earlier -.-, such a great OS). I put up Gnome 13.16.2 as my desktop environment particularly because I like its interface (rounded corners, the ui etc. Kinda reminds me of my fav mobile OS MIUI).
    And I can see that most of the themes (almost all that I have installed infact) like to remove rounded corners and give a flat rectangle. Is there some way to force rounded corners by editing the theme? I did had a look at gnome-shell.css of theme and the "panel" portion of it didnt had any such part (or atleast I couldn't find it). Some help would be appreciated, really want those rounded corners as well as the theme.
    Here's the gnome-shell.css from that theme btw:

    -panel-corner-radius: 6px; //------------//
    -panel-corner-background-color: transparent;
    -panel-corner-border-color: transparent; }
    What needed to be done:
    #panel .panel-corner {
    -panel-corner-radius: 6px; //--------------//
    -panel-corner-background-color: transparent;
    -panel-corner-border-width: 2px; //----------------//

    The file looks like malformed XML (malformed, because it's missing quotes around the attributes, closing tags, etc.). If it's supposed to be proper XML, the right way would be to fix it and use an XML parser in your favorite scripting language to load it, read the other file, and alter the data systematically.
    xmllint in the libxml2 package may be useful for checking XML syntax and reformatting.
    If you know Python then you could probably use the xml.dom.minidom or one of the other standard XML libraries.
    If it is in the format posted then the following script should do what you want, or at least provide a starting point. It's not the most efficient approach but it seems to do the trick.
    #!/usr/bin/env perl
    use strict;
    use warnings;
    open (my $fh1, '<', $ARGV[0]) or die "failed to open $ARGV[1]";
    open (my $fh2, '<', $ARGV[1]) or die "failed to open $ARGV[2]";

    Now, if we lay down in the grass and remain very quiet, a wild sed wizard may appear to amaze us with a glorious, arcane one-liner. Remember, if he appears, avoid sudden movements. If you startle him, his expression will break and he'll slink off muttering something about it having worked a minute ago.
    p.s. I haven't touched Perl in ages. I almost miss it.
    Almost.

  • Is there a way for export to create rounded corners?

    I love creating layouts with Fireworks, but it always bothered me that it didn't recreate any rounded corners.
    When CS6 came out with the CSS Properties window, I was happy to see that the CSS in the Properties window faithfully created my objects with rounded corners, so I had high hopes that the regular export would include this markup... but it didn't.
    My current work-around seems very frustrating.  I export my file as HTML with CSS images... I get a perfectly rendered page with one exception... the corners are still square.   Then, I go back to Fireworks, open the CSS Properties window, then cut and paste the tags for the corners one by one into the CSS file.
    It seems to me with such heavy emphasis on CSS integration, that  the export function should include the this code too.
    Am I doing something wrong?  Or is this still an unsupported feature?

    Use the CSS Properties panel to extract and copy CSS for the selected object on the canvas. It has no integration with the CSS and Images export workflow OR the HTML and Images export workflow (the latter of which produces a rigid, image-based, html table layout). HTML and Images export is really only suitable for clickable prototypes. CSS and Images export is really only suitable if you like re-writing all the CSS to match your normal workflow.
    General workflow:
    1) Add effects to vector shape (corners, drop shadow, glow, gradient fill, border, opacity, etc..)
    2) Open CSS Properties panel. CSS properties for selected object are displayed.
    3) Click the Copy All button in the panel.
    4) Switch to Dreamweaver or your preferred web editor.
    5) Paste the CSS into the desired class, id or element rule.
    6) View in Live View or Preview in Browser to see results.
