Route-map not working on cisco 3750

Hello All,
Im trying to use route-map using next hop. For some reason I am not getting any matching packets. SDM is setup for desktop routing.
I am not getting any matches on my route-map nor my ACL.
Code is 12.2(55)SE5
Config
interface Vlan11
 description OAD_NAP Data Network
 ip address 10.248.60.254 255.255.255.0
 ip helper-address 172.17.101.1
 ip helper-address 172.17.104.1
 ip helper-address 172.17.108.114
 no ip redirects
 no ip proxy-arp
ip policy route-map ROUTE-OADFW
end
access-list 100 permit ip host 10.248.60.240 host 172.20.1.1 log
access-list 100 permit ip 10.248.60.0 0.0.0.255 172.20.1.0 0.0.0.255
route-map ROUTE-OADFW permit 10
 match ip address 100
 set ip next-hop 10.248.31.254
Don't know if this makes a difference 10.248.31.254 (FW) is not the next hop but it is in the routing table so the 3750 knows how to get their.
sho route-map
route-map ROUTE-OADFW, permit, sequence 10
  Match clauses:
    ip address (access-lists): 100
  Set clauses:
    ip next-hop 10.248.31.254
Policy routing matches: 0 packets, 0 bytes
oan-u101-asw-01#
Very straight forward I thought :) Any help really appreciated.

Hi,
You need to look at the config guide
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3750/software/release/12-2_55_se/configuration/guide/scg3750/swiprout.html#wp1392257
Look at step 4
Step 4
 set ip next-hop ip-address [...ip-address]
Specify the action to take on the packets that match the criteria. Set next hop to which to route the packet (the next hop must be adjacent).
The address you re using as the next hop is NOT adjacent

Alex

  • Reverse SSH not working for Cisco 3750.Plz help.

    Hi,
I have configured the reverse ssh mentioned on the cisco document:http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_3t/12_3t11/feature/guide/gt_rssh.html#wp1051457.
But now I am running into the issue that When I  issue command ssh -l alex:rotary1 192.38.6.8 from the cli of the router  I’m presented with a password prompt.
I  enter my password and get connected. However at this point when I type, for  example, the atdt command I don’t see any output  displayed.
So I  tried typing command atdt <tel no.> and at the same time ran a debug modem  on a separate session. It was from the separate session I could see the call  been made to the remote device and connected successfully. However almost  immediately the modem debug displays message 0236596: Dec  7 2010  12:18:18.236 GMT: TTY69: cleanup pending. Delaying DTR. At no point do I see  output displayed on the session where I connected to the  modem.
When using telnet to  connect, i.e using the same modem and the same remote device, we have had no  problems it is just with SSH.
Any suggestion on this will be highly appriciated.
    Thanks
    Alex.

    Philip,
I first thank you for coming forward to help me on this.
I use the 30DM(Digital Modem) Card on the router. I have configured on of this modem  on the PRI card(1/18) to make outbound calls. We use this dailup to cyclades the devices located on our remote office. Hence we loose the main internet connectivity we use this option as a backup.

Please let me know is this a bug or anything else. AS the same setup works fine when I use TElnet rather than ssh.

  • Policy Based Routing is not working with slb configured

I have a 7609 with a slb firewallfarm configured. It is running IOS 12.2(18)SXE3 with sup720. The firewallfarm is configured with default settings with no access parameter, only real servers configured.
All the traffic is coming from a single vlan (it's not possible to implement another layer 2 way to make the traffic pass through) and I would like to make a single flow to exit from another interface and not pass to the real servers configured on FWfarm. I wrote the following PBR statements:
    !!!!!!! Begin !!!!!!!
    access-list 110 permit ip host XX.XX.XX.XX any
!where XX.XX.XX.XX is an omitted IP address
    route-map NEW-ROUTEMAP permit 10
    match ip address 110
    set ip next-hop 192.168.253.3
    interface Vlan55
!vlan 55 is the interface from where the selected flows comes
    ip route-cache policy
    ip policy route-map NEW-ROUTEMAP
    !!!!! END !!!!!!!
The route-map seems working, in fact I can see matched ACL and route-map.
The problem is the SLB seems to take all the traffic in charge, also the one I would like to route to another interface, in fact if I put my desidered output interface in monitor I can see no traffic passing through.
SLB creates the sticky entry anyway, in fact as far as I know, the SLB has the priority to static routing and route-maps.
Any idea for a workaround? Is there a way to make PBR works with SLB?
    Thanks in advance.
    Ric

It's possible to make pbr work with slb for further details refere to the link ,

  • WRT1900 AC V1 - Linksys is aware that the router is not working properly. Help spread the word.

I just had a conversation with Linksys' Customer Service via chat: Daphne L. J: Hello Fernando Paramo. My name is Daphne L..
Daphne L. J: Welcome to Linksys Global Chat. Is this your initial contact or do you have a case number?
    You: Case number is 04971062
Daphne L. J: Please give me 3-5 minutes to pull up and review your case.
    You: OK
    Daphne L. J: Thank you.
You: I have a WRT1900 AC, V1. The router is not working properly. I have disconnections every few minutes.I already installed the new firmware version and I still have the same issues. I already reset the router to factory defaults and same issues. I have changed the settings back to my personal preferences: Changed the SSID, changed the wireless security settings, changed the DNS and deactivate WPS. That's it.I'm using 5 Ghz mode with my laptops (5 Ghz adapters) and 2-4 Ghz with a few devices (Chromecast, Nintendo 3DS).
Daphne L. J: Thank you for waiting.
Daphne L. J: Please confirm if the following information is correct:

    Model Number : WRT1900AC
    Serial Number : 13J10609406280
    Country : United States
    You: That's correct.
Daphne L. J: Okay. Were you able to check if the devices have stable connection wired to the router?
You: No. I do not have devices with Ethernet ports. Well, only the cable modem.
You: But the modem is fine. No disconnections from my ISP.
    You: It is the router.
Daphne L. J: Alright. What is the current firmware version of your router?
You: I tried to return the router to Wal-Mart yesterday with no luck. This is a useless device. And I have been reading comments on the community forums and a lot of people are having problems.
Daphne L. J: We are actually aware of the issue and are working on a resolution. What is the current firmware version of your router?
    You: Ver. 1.1.10.167514
    You: Latest one.
Daphne L. J: Yes, so you reflashed the firmware, reset and then manually reconfigure it after, not using backup configuration, is that right?
    You: That's correct.
Daphne L. J: And it is intermittent on all devices connected to both 2.4 and 5 Ghz networks, is that right?
    You: That's correct.
Daphne L. J: Thank you for the information. Please give ,e 3-5 minutes to verify this with my superior.
Daphne L. J: Thank you for waiting.
You: I want to send you my WRT1900 AC and get a V2 or I want a EA8500 and pay the difference myseld.
You: I do not want my current hardware.
You: It is useless for my needs.
You: I can't believe I had an older E3000 that didn't give me any problems.
Daphne L. J: We have already exhausted all possible troubleshooting steps for your concern. As verified with my Supervisor, we will forward your case to our Customer Assurance Team. They are highly technical and knowledgeable when it comes to advanced troubleshooting. They will contact you in the next 24 to 48 hours. By the way, who is your Internet Service Provider? And do you Cable or DSL connection?
    You: Cable connection.
Daphne L. J: Who is your Internet Service Provider?
    You: A company called .
You: How are they going to contact me?
Daphne L. J: Alright. By the way, on the device itself, on its FCC ID, please check if you have WRT1900AC or WRT1900AC v2.
You: Are you paying attention to me?
    You: I already told you it's V1.
Daphne L. J: They will call or email you. Please double check if these informations are correct:

    E-Mail Address :
You: I told you I want to send you my WRT1900 AC and get a V2 or I want a EA8500 and pay the difference myself.
You: I want them to contact me to my email. I can't answer the phone during work hours.
Daphne L. J: We can't assure you if we will be able to replace it with Version 2 or if you are allowed to have the EA8500 instead.
Daphne L. J: Just in case, do you also have an alternate number?
Daphne L. J: Also, what time zone are you in? And what is your preferred time and day for them to contact you?
You: I have the one from my office in Mexico. Central Time. Any time is good.
Daphne L. J: So, you are currently in Mexico?
You: I work in Mexico but I have the house in USA. I live in the border.
Daphne L. J: I see. Do you have any other questions or clarifications?
You: I live 10 minutes away from the International Bridge. But that's not an issue. I bought the router at Walmart in Laredo, TX.
Daphne L. J: Thank you for the information. Would that be all for now?
You: I want a clarification: Do you realize that there is an issue with the current WRT1900 AC? Are you aware of that?
You: Because this is a very expensive router that is not working as it should be.
Daphne L. J: Yes, we are aware of the issue and are working on a resolution.
Daphne L. J: Would there be anything else you need?
You: That would be it. I will wait for you to contact me.
    You: Thanks.
Daphne L. J: Alright. Thank you for giving us an opportunity to serve you through Linksys Live Chat. You may also visit our support site at www.linksys.com. For your reference, your case number is 04980394. Thank you for choosing Linksys and have a great day! We paid $250 for this piece of equipment. That's a lot of money for a device that doesn't work. I just want to get a V2 replacement, or better yet, an exchange for a EA8500. We should all demand this. It is not fair for us. The current WRT1900 AC is a useless device. They even should do a recall of the product. I will wait for them to contact me, but I'm thinking if I should send the information to The Consumerist or someone else. What to do?

The device is useless. Not just a paperweigt... an expensive paperweight.Actually I looking into the swap for you because I think that would be best in your case. Keep this in perspective. There is laterally millions of WRT1900AC V1 out there with very few issues with latest firmwares and of course the odd exception. In your case it could be a defective WRT1900AC.

Hello. I sent my WRT1900AC V1 to Linksys four days ago (Monday) via UPS with a RMA. Linksys paid the shipping and everything. The router is still in route, and it should arrive to their offices tomorrow. Once they receive the WRT1900 AC V1, they are going to send me an EA8500 as a replacement. But I have been reading the comments about the EA8500 here in the forum and it seems to have the same problems. I guess the firmware is extremely flawed in both routers (maybe it is almost the same code?). Anyway, I will try the EA8500 and I hope it works. I bought a temporary router from Walmart and I paid $35 for it. It is a Belink N600 DB. I can't believe that a $35 router is working a lot, lot, lot better than my previous $250 WRT1900AC router. Unbelievable. If the EA8500 doesn't work, I'm going to try and get my money back from Linksys, or contact The Consumerist or someone to get my money back and get a Nighthawk instead.

  • Alternate Access Mapping not working for Zone : Intranet

One of our client want to set Alternate Access Mappint (intranet) with url "intranet.theirDomain.com" with local IP address.
    is it possible?
subsequest to my previous question (

I want to ask one more question
Can we configure "intranet.theirDomain.com" with local IP address for any other zone?
    or
If there is ".com" within the url then it can't be configured for InTRAnet?
    Thanks
    S H A J A N

The names for the zones don't matter. You could use the 'extranet' zone for another intranet name if you wanted, the names are just to make it a bit more friendly for beginners.
What you describe sounds routine, you create a web application with a name, then use an AAM to allow users to access it with a more friendly name. Frequently you end up creating
    http://intranet.domain.com and
http://intranet as an AAM, or vice versa.
You can use .com for an intranet site, you would need to add the site as an A Host record in your DNS server so that traffic is sent to your internal server rather than out into the wider world.

    Hi Rashmi,
The problem would either be in cache update or your mapping. Please provide the sceenshot of mapping (after clicking the value mapping function).
you can also choose the option to throw error in value mapping function, so it will throw error when value not found.

  • Persistant routes sometimes not working

    This is the situation
We have a MSSQL cluster of 2 servers the SQL03A and SQL03B windows 2008 R2 enterprise on vmware 5.5
There are 2 persistant routes, they are for the backup:
    10.64.67.171 255.255.255.255 10.37.4.30
    10.64.67.169 255.255.255.255 10.37.4.29
Sometimes , one?s a month, the persistant route does not work and the backup wil not work.
We delete the persistant route and we make the persistant route again, than it wil work again.
    What could be the problem?

You need to use root print to list the available routes. When the problem gets reproduced again, please run it to see what are the available routes.
Also, you can double check that you are creating the routes properly. Here is an article about how to create persistent routes: http://www.itsyourip.com/networking/howto-add-persistent-static-routes-in-windows/comment-page-1/

apple maps not working on iMac the little thing just keeps turning

    Do a backup.
    Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.  Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.Maps.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart the computer, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

    ip policy route-map Use_Route1
It seems to take the command but when I look back with a show run interface vlan 10, it is not there.
Also when I look at the show route policy it indicates that 0 packets have been processed.
Is this a bug or am I missing something?

    Hi Richard,
Cisco 3850 even running on full IP services image will not support verify-availability command to track with IP SLA.
If you enable terminal monitor or configure the device using console you can see the syslog message when you try to configure the route-map with set ip next-hop verify-availability command
    %PLATFORM_PBR-3-UNSUPPORTED_RMAP: Route-map <name> not supported for Policy-Based Routing
You can see the route-map command showing up in the config BUT as soon as you try to apply to interface vlan10 the command will be not be applied and PBR will not work.
I hope Cisco find way to fix this!!
    Workaround:
You can use EEM Applet with IP SLA
    event manager applet internet_up
event syslog pattern "%TRACKING-5-STATE: 1 ip sla 1 reachability Down->Up"
    action 2.0 cli command "enable"
action 3.0 cli command "config t"
action 3.2 cli command "interface Vlan10"
action 3.3 cli command "ip policy router-map Use_Internet"
     action 3.4 cli command "exit"
    event manager applet internet_down
event syslog pattern "%TRACKING-5-STATE: 1 ip sla 1 reachability Up->Down"
    action 2.0 cli command "enable"
action 3.0 cli command "config t"
action 3.2 cli command "interface Vlan10"
action 3.3 cli command "no ip policy router-map Use_Internet"
     action 3.4 cli command "exit"
repeat the same process for other IP SLA tracking you have
    hope this helps
    Santhosh

    Hi folks,

    Any ideas?

  • Successmaker program not working behind Cisco SA520

My customer is a small school in British Columbia. They have used the Successmaker program (written by Pearson Education) to teach numeracy and literacy skills. Since installing a SA520 the teachers are saying that Successmaker does not work properly.
I am at my wits end.
I have disabled content filtering for the SA520, I have disabled IDS on the SA520. I am using the default outbound firewall rule allowing inside addresses access anywhere on the Internet, and I have created an inbound firewall rule allowing all traffic and all services from the Successmaker server IP address that their tech support gave us.Their app is still unable to work properly.
    What am I missing?
Before the SA520 was installed the school was using PAT to map different ports on the public IP on the school cable modem to inside addresses. The whole school was a big DMZ, and any port scanning would have reached into their network. The port mappings were never communicated to the Successmaker folks, so I doubt they were ever relevant to the issue. The Successmaker App is web based, and according to their tech support uses "transfer encoding:chunked" technology. I read up on this and it dates back pre Web 2.0 (pre flash, pre silverlight, pre basically the silicon chip). It is discussed in RFC 2616, the SA520 is Linux based, not IOS based. Does that mean that it does not understand RFC2616? I doubt it, and even if it didn't understand RFC 2616 surely all the steps I have taken above would blow a hole the size of a barn door through the firewall?
If this weren't a school would not be as emotionally connected as I am to their situation. Without this firewall they will be without much protection at all.
    Can you help?
Message was edited by: dirkventer - I added the feedback received from Successmaker tech support. It suggests that the Cisco SA520 may be a problem, something I don't want to believe.

    Hi Quendale
I'm sorry to say that putting a student computer in the DMZ didn't resolve the issue.
In setting up the DMZ I made the following changes -
    1) I confirmed that the Option interface was in DMZ mode, and that it had a static IP on a new subnet.
    2) We also configured the DMZ DHCP to assign addresses in the subnet, using the firewall DMZ IP as default gateway, and using the firewall DMZ IP as DNS server.
    3) I created a default firewall rule allowing all outbound traffic from the DMZ to the Internet, and created a firewall rule allowing all inbound traffic from the Successmaker server on the Internet (insecure) zone to the DMZ.
    4) I confirmed that IPS was off for the DMZ (Default) and that the content filter exception for the DMZ was still disabled.
The same problem occurred, which makes me believe that the reason for the application not working in the LAN zone had nothing to do with IPS or content filtering. As far as the firewall rule goes, the impact of the inbound rule seems to have been the same - i.e. ineffectual.
Connecting the PC running successmaker directly to the school cable modem works.
The possibility that the application in question has traffic blocked because of a RFC (2616?)  governing the way get and post requests should be formatted would still exist so long as integrity/compliance checking of packets is something that cannot be bypassed via the firewall configuration. Suffice it to say that the application appears dated and uses nothing of web 2.0. One of the options available to my customer is the purchase of the Web 2.0 version of successmaker ($600/seat), but they are only prepared to explore this option if the indications are that the older application, not the firewall is at fault. Pearson Education support swears blindly that thousands of BC school children continue to use the old app behind Cisco firewalls. I don't deny that the possibility exists that the Pearson support technician is stretching the truth, having an older application that has ceased to function with more sophisticated firewalls because RFC violations in packet formatting have become significant would doubtless present a solid easy-sell for their upgraded version, which is expensive, especially for a school.

Hold the reset button for 30seconds and the router will revert to it's factory defaults. The default pass will then be "admin"
