try upgrading / reflashing the firmware of the wrv54g to the latest available from www.linksys.com/download
try changing the MTU size on the client router to 1452
check whether it makes any difference

  • Installing Quick VPN Client on Windows 8.1

    Hi Guys
We use Quick VPN Client to connect to our office using the RV016 VPN Router.
The QuickVPN Client works fine on Windows XP, Windows 7. It also worked fine on Windows 8 initially.
Recently we noticed that when we try to use the QuickVPN Client to connect to our office VPN, the client application is just waiting and showing the message connection and not proceeding any further from that screen. Becuase of the we are unable to connect to our office VPN from Windows 8 or 8.1.
Does anyone here has some useful tips to make the QuickVPN Client work again successfully from Windows 8 or Windows 8.1?
Looking forward to hearing from you guys
    Regards
    Jo

I've been able to use Quick VPN successfully on several Windows 8 and 8.1 machines by doing the following:
Right-click on the Quick VPN desktop shortcut and then click on the compatibility tab. Under "compatibility mode, select, "Windows Vista (Service Pack 2); under "Settings", click, "Run the program as an administrator".
In Windows firewall advanced settings, add inbound and outbound allow rules for port 60443.
In Windows firewall advanced settings, add an outbound allow rule for ICMPv4
If you're using Adobe Creative Cloud, you'll need to quit the Creative Cloud Desktop application in order to use Qucik VPN. CEFHelper.exe (used by the Creative Cloud Desktop application) has a dependency/lock on wget.exe, and will cause Quick VPN to not respond at the certificate recognition phase. Quitting the Creative Cloud Desktop application (and thereby killing CEF Helper) allows Quick VPN access to wget.exe and it will then function normally.
**Edit; addendum** Windows updates as of 2013-04-20 require that rules in Windows firewall advanced settings be established that allow wget.exe both inbound and outbound. Path is %ProgramFiles% (x86)\Cisco Small Business\QuickVPN Client\wget.exe for 64-bit Windows machines.

  • RV042 quick VPN client cant ping lan network

    Hi guys,
I've just created a client2gateway IPSec tunnel on RV042 and use Quick VPN client on remote PC trying to connect this router.
Quick VPN showed the tunnel was establised. But I couldn't ping the Lan network behind the router RV042.
    Can anyone help me ?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I modified the client2gateway mode to Client access mode.
Now I can ping (from QuickVPN client) to 172.16.1.0/24 network behind the router RV042.
But if I put another subnet as 10.92.x.0 behind this router, I still can't ping. Since Client access configuration is too simple, I cannot find a way to modify the subnet.
Seems 172.16.1.0 is default. Am I right?

When I send traffic from 881G client side, in show cryto sessin detail I see encrypted packets. But with same command I dont see decrypted packet on ASA5505 side. On both devices Phase 1 and Phase 2 are UP.
VPN is working when I replace ASA5505 with ASA5510  correctly with have 8.4.6 software. But problem is that i need to do this VPN between ASA5505 and 881G.

  • Unable to access LAN behind RV042 from QUICK VPN Client once it connects

    Hi,
Very recently, we had implemented Site-to-Site VPN tunnel between two Linksys RV042 4-port VPN routers. Everybody in our remote site is accessing and sharing the data through this tunnel and it is working fine.
Now, we have a plan to implement the same for our mobile clients also. For this, we had followed all the basic configuration procedures and user got connected to Quick VPN tunnel. Here is a problem we had observed. The mobile client user is connected to the tunnel, but unable to access the office LAN from the PC.
What's the problem in configuration? What i have to do?
    Thanks

  • I cannot route to remote subnets from cisco vpn client and pptp client

    Hi guys,
I've a big problem, I configured a 877 cisco router as a cisco vpn server (the customer use it to connect to his network from pc) and a pptp vpn server (he use it to connet to the network from a smartphone).
In this router I created 2 vlan, one for wired network (192.168.10.0/24) and the second one (10.0.0.0/24) for wireless clients and I use fastethernet 3 port to connect these to the router.
this is the issue, when the customer try to connect to a wireless network from both of vpn clients he cannot do this, but if he try to connect to a wired network client all working fine.
following the addresses taken from the router.
    - encrypted vpn client -
    ip address. 192.168.10.20
    netmask 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway. none (blank)
    - pptp vpn client -
    ip address. 192.168.10.21
    netmask. 255.255.255.255
    Default Gateway. 192.168.10.21
Is possible that I cannot reach the remote subnet because the clients doesn't receive a gateway (in the first case) or receive the wrong subnet/gateway (in the second one)..?
There is anyone can help me..?
    Thank you very much.
    Many Kisses and Kindly Regards..
    Ilaria

The default gateway on your PC is not the problem, it will always show as the same IP address (this is no different when you dial up to an ISP, your DG will again be set to your negotiated IP address).
The issue will be routing within the campus network and more importantly on the PIX itself. The campus network needs a route to the VPN pool of addresses that eventually points back to the PIX.
The issue here is that the PIX will have a default gateway pointing back out towards your laptop. When you establish a VPN and try and go to an Internet address, the PIX is going to route this packet according to its routing table and send it back out the interface it came in on. The PIX won't do this, and the packet will be dropped. Unless you can set the PIX's routing table to forward Internet packets to the campus network, there's no way around this. Of course if you do that then you'll break connectivity thru the PIX for all the internal users.
The only way to do this is to configure split tunnelling on the PIX, so that packets destined for the Internet are sent directly from your laptop in the clear just like normal, and any packet destined for the campus network is encrypted and sent over the tunnel.
Here's the format of the command:

  • Assign Route to Windows 2K or XP VPN Client

Is it possible via radius, PIX vpdn, or IOS vpdn configuration to assign a route to a Windows 2K or XP VPN client?

it is possible in VPN concentrator where we can send a default route to the VPN client, not sure if it works in PIX.

  • IOS VPN will not respond to Cisco VPN Client connections.

    Hi all,
I am about to set my routers on fire here.
I have two 2921 ISRs both with Security licenses on separate leased lines. I have configured one to accept VPN connections from our Cisco VPN Client remote workers.
I have followed the set up process I used on another site with an 1841/Sec router and the same clients and I have also checked against the config given in the latest IOS15 EasyVPN guide.
With all debugs active, all I see is

    Hello Jennifer,
I can ping the 192.168.88.0/24 (host 88.3) from my PIX fine. The 88 subnet hangs off a 2950 switch. This is my diagram.
My configs are as follows. Please note I have left out the suggested lines of config from above as they had no effect.
Very much appreciate your time and effort with my issue.

  • Can't get Quick VPN to connect to my Cisco 120w

For the life of me I can’t get my quick VPN client to connect to my Cisco 120w. I have IPSec gateway to gateway setup and working just fine. I made my quick vpn client under vpn tab. I enabled remote management. Every time I try to connect I get the failed to establish connection. Using the same quick VPN software I can connect to a rv082 with no trouble. Can anyone help me with this?
    Thank you for your time
    Gary V.

first place to look is the logfile,
    C:\Program Files\Cisco Small Business\QuickVPN Client\Log.txt
    what does it say?

  • Quick VPN step-by-step guide!

    Hello.
Can someone please provide a step-by-step guide on how to configure the SA-520 for Quick VPN Access? The manual doesn't describe this scenario at all, so please someone give me instructions how to set the IKE and VPN policy so that Quick VPN can connect. I don't need any IP validation or anything, I just need it to work and take it from there...
    Thanks! Artur

Like Mr Roe explained you may need to call into the office and let an agent test the connection for you. However here are some quick steps that you need to take to get the quick vpn configured.
    1. You will need to access the set up screen for your SA520- You then need to click on the VPN tab.
    2. Select IPSEC Users. There you will find a drop down arrow box select CISCO QUICK VPN.
3.The Menu option may change slightly. A warning message will appear that you will need to make sure that the LAN subnets are different from your local and remote side.
    4. There will be another warning message advising you to enable remote management. You can find this area under the NETWORK MANAGEMENT TAB.
You will enable remote management from this page, by simply checking the box. you will need to grant access type by allowing all ip addresses or by range of addresses or for a particular PC which ever fits your need. All IP addresses is what I tested my VPN connection with and it was successful. The port you will use will be port 443. After you have configured this page save your settings.
    5. Now that you have verified that all of your basic setting needs are taken care of now you can return to the VPN tab and create your user's and assign passwords for there connection.
    6. Again you will choose the CISCO QUICK VPN from the drop down box and then assign your users.
    7. For the users who will be accessing this connection they will need to have downloaded the cisco quick vpn client from our websight to utilize this type of connection. The version number for this QUICK VPN CLIENT is 1.4.1.2.
    8. All users who try and access this quick VPN connection will need to have the QVPN client Utility saved on there desktop for access.
    hope this was helpful.

  • Cisco VPN Client connects, but doesn't....

Have an issue where the workstation connects to the remote router using Cisco VPN Client successfully, but cannot receive traffic, but can...... I can see the connection with sh cry isa sa, and can see the packets encrypt/decrypt via sh cry ipse sa, as well as see the encrypt/decrypt in the VPN Client status, these numbers match up with the number of pings that are sent across the tunne.  I can also see the ougoing and incoming packets with wireshark on the Cisco adapter on the workstation that is connected over the tunnel, icmp to:x.x.x.37 from:x.x.x.100, icmp from:x.x.x.100 to:x.x.x.37. Even with wireshark seeing the traffic, the requests time out. Any ideas?

    Matthew,
If you are seeing packets encrypted/decrypted on both sites, but not getting an actual response, it sounds like tough one.
Have you tried disabling the client's firewall?
Also, you to discard a possible problem with the VPN virtual adapter have you tried to uninstall/reinstall the VPN Client?
Sorry, the suggetions I'm giving you are very basic but it definetely sounds kind of a weird problem...
Let me know how it goes.
    Raga

  • WRVS4400N as VPN Client?

    Hello Cisco Support.
I have a Cisco WRVS4400N Small Busniess router standing - I rent a VPN connection with BeeVPN where I am taking advantage of the Cisco AnyConnect to connect to my VPN at BeeVPN. But instead of using AnyConnect, will I hear if it is possible to setup my router as a VPN client? So i don't need to run AnyConnect on my computer every time i start it up.
Thanks in advance for your help -
    Best regards Nikolaj
