Routing policy problem !!!

Hi everybody,
Sr because my English skill is not good so much.
Pls help me to solve the problem like this: I create the Network  with policy routing with source address. The policy is: packet from 172.16.6.1 to 4.4.4.4 must go to next-hop Pigpen (172.16.4.3). And when link from SW to Pigpen down, traffic must go to Lucy.
But it cannot switchover from the next-hop address that I config to the normal routing when the next-hop not available. I have config set ip next-hop verify-availability with track, but it not ok. CDP enable on all router.
Config on Linus:
Linus#show ip access-lists

    try this.
    get back into your router's settings and start deleting devices that are not connected to your router.
    you can also delete the ones that are connected - they'll connect again.
    on the DHCP side of it, increase the amount of users that can connect/log in to your router.
    see if that sorts it out for you.
    good luck.

  • Does a route-policy override BGP split-horizon rule in IOS-XR?

    If I receive a default route from a non-client, can I turn around and send it to another non client if I have the following applied to the non-client?
    prefix-set send-default
      0.0.0.0/0
    end-set
    route-policy DEFAULT-POLICY
      if destination in send-default then
        pass

        drop
      endif
    end-policy

       route-policy DEFAULT-POLICY out
       soft-reconfiguration inbound always
     neighbor X.X.X.X
      use neighbor-group BLAH

    Hi Carlopez,
    For BGP to inject a default rotue you need the "default-information originate" command, unfortunately, you can't redistribute or regenerate a route via the RPL method you described.

  • Url filtering Route policy Firewall ?

    Hello,
    I'd like to know if it's possible to make a route policy (based on an identity matched by url white list) that redirect http trafic to a firewall (Juniper SSG550M).
    The objectif is to separate traffic depending on url request as professionnal and non professionnal traffic, but Juniper can't be used as Upstream Proxy because it can't be use as a proxy. So, is it possible to create 2 "Direct connection" routing policies and specify 2 différents gateway ?
    Or, if you have any other idea to separate traffic depending on url, I take it !
    Regards,
    Romain.

    Hi Stella
    AFAIK you can do URL filtering provided that you have a websense server installed at your site.
    do refer this link for more info on the same..

  • In which add-family,routing policy should apply for MPBGP ?

    Hi,
    IN MPBGP protocol, where i will apply routing policy to apply  as- path prepand    so that Route  would be secondary to  neighbor.
    IGP-OSPF and BGP over MPLS is running.
    on Which  address-familiy nbr,should i apply, is it in VPNV4 or IPV4 or IPV4  VRF ?
    if i want 10.36.128.0/26 prefix should go to Neigbhor MPLS R2, what should i use access-list or Prefix list?
    please provide the reply with its config .
    Topology like

    Hi Harlold,
    Thanks for reply...
    Please find the topology diagram
    1. Yes ,both are MPLS Network.
    2. L3VPN intraAS.
    3.Mpls router 1 and 2  are PE to connect the SPs MPLS rtr.
    4.My administration is upto Router R1.
    5.Both MPLS Router R1 and R2 belongs to other Vendor which giving us mpls service . and they want from to advertise only VRF MGMT subnets only with AS Prepend .
    So i want to where should Route-map apply? is it in address-family vpnv4 or ?
    router bgp 64513

    ip prefix-list ONM_TO_AIR permit 10.49.30.128/26
    will it work?
    or I have to match extcommuntity in Route-map   as it apply to vpnv4 add-family ?

  • WiFi only works close to router, DNS fail, Signal Bars present but Safari says no Internet, I've deleted and readded through to reset and full reset, I had no problem with 4.3.2 only 4.3.3 both my iPhone4 and my iPad2. I am now beside router - no problem

    Help
    WiFi only works close to router, DNS fail, Signal Bars present but Safari says no Internet, I've deleted and re-added through to reset and full reset, I had no problem with 4.3.2 only 4.3.3 both my iPhone4 and my iPad2. I am now beside router - no problem, but go 20 metres and WiFi becomes unstable. Only way to get either to work is disable WiFi either as a Hot Spot or turn it off and use the 3G connection. This worked with 4.3 & 4.3.2 what has gone wrong? I raised it at the Apple Store in Belfast as a problem but was told that there was no problem with Apple but I must have a faulty router - yeah - that's a lot of faulty routers, my home, my office, my holiday home, Starbucks, my friends house, my son's house. I've tried all the 'fixes'. I think it is a plan to force us to buy Apple Routers

    Two ways out, I added two more Belkin Access Points in my house in Spain so that I'm not more than 10Mtrs away, (Reinforced Concrete & solar glass 2010)
    I bought 3 Apple Airports, 1 x Extreme and 2 x Express (1 as a hard wired AP, 1 as an extender) for my other house (Brick construction 1930's)
    Everthing now works perfectly, as I said 'an apple plot', so either blast them with signal or visit your nearest apple store.
    Early beta iOS5 (iPad) is also much inproved in Beta 3, I have not had any problem with 'Lion'
    Happy hunting!

  • ASR 9000 route-policy on ipv4 and vpnv4 neighbors

    Hi
    To reduce configuraton i would like to use the same route-policy for ipv4 and vpnv4 routes from the same neighbors on ASR 9000.
    I know that a "pass all" route-policy will work just fine, also a route-policy like this works fine:
    route-policy eBGP_NEIGHBORS
        set local-preference 50
      endif
    end-policy
    But why doesn´t this route-policy work?
    rd-set EXT_SERVICES_PRIMARY
      1.1.1.1:*
    end-set
    rd-set EXT_SERVICES_SECUNDARY
      2.2.2.2:*
    end-set
    route-policy eBGP_NEIGHBORS
      if rd in EXT_SERVICES_PRIMARY then
        set local-preference 120
      elseif rd in EXT_SERVICES_SECUNDARY then
        set local-preference 20
      else
        set local-preference 80
      endif
    end-policy
    The effect of this is that vpnv4 routes looks just fine but ipv4 routes is missing in bgp table. I have tryed all kind of configs but it just will not work, what am i missing?
    The idea of this route-policy is that routes advertised by rd 1.1.1.1 will act as primary and rd 2.2.2.2 as secundary.
    1.1.1.1 and 2.2.2.2 is handleing the same routes.
    1.1.1.1 is located in one AS and 2.2.2.2 in an other AS
    my ASR that i am working on is in a third AS
    And alla other routes will have a default local-pref of 80

    If you watch the if statement, you're challenging that if the RD is something, or else, else... but, maybe, it doesn't work if you don't have an RD.
    Based on the Mohit's answer I think that maybe, that's the reason.
    route-policy eBGP_NEIGHBORS
      if rd in EXT_SERVICES_PRIMARY then
        set local-preference 120
      elseif rd in EXT_SERVICES_SECUNDARY then
        set local-preference 20
      else   <<< So if not "EXT_SERVICES_PRIMARY" and not "EXT_SERVICES_SECUNDARY", but stills in "if rd.."
        set local-preference 80
      endif
    Mohit's:
    route-policy eBGP_NEIGHBORS
      if rd in EXT_SERVICES_PRIMARY then
        set local-preference 120
      elseif rd in EXT_SERVICES_SECUNDARY then
        set local-preference 20
      endif
        set local-preference 80 >>>> Outside the if statement!
      end-policy.
    Let us know if the Mohit's answer worked! Just to learn something new :)

  • Rt-filter or route-policy in a route-reflector

    Hi,
    I want to implement a route reflector that i will use in two differents networks with differents VPNL3. So i do not want that my route reflector advertise the prefixes form a network to the other. I am using an ASR9000 with IOS XR 4.3.2 as route reflector.
    I tried two differents configurations in a testing enviroment and both work fine, one applying route-policy filtering by RD, and another using RT-filter. But i do not know what is better to implement on production. I will appreciate if somebody could help me to decide what is the best to implement in a production Network, thinking in the resources of the network and in the IPv6 deployment (i could not configure RT Filter with address-family ipv6)
    With route-policy
    rd-set RD_XXX
    65000:*
    end-set
    route-policy to_XXX
    if rd in RD_XXX then
       pass
      else
       drop
      endif
    end-policy
    route-policy to_YYY
    if rd in RD_XXX then
      drop
    else
      pass
    endif
    end-policy
    router bgp 65001
    neighbor-group XXX
      remote-as 65001
    address-family vpnv4 unicast
      route-reflector-client
      route-policy to_XXX out
    neighbor-group YYY
       remote-as 650001
       update-source Loopback0
      address-family vpnv4 unicast
        route-reflector-client
        route-policy to_YYY out
    with RT-Filter
    router bgp 65001
    address-family ipv4 rt-filter
    neighbor-group XXX
      address-family ipv4 rt-filter
       route-reflector-client
       soft-reconfiguration inbound always
    neighbor-group YYY
      address-family ipv4 rt-filter
       route-reflector-client
       soft-reconfiguration inbound always
    Regards

    Hi,
    One benefit I see with rt-filter is, this feature provides considerable savings in CPU cycles and transient memory usage, generally this will be beneficial when you have large number of prefixes to be filtered, as you do not need to define route-policy for all the prefixes, and also it simple to configure (only one command )
    Look at the  Restrictions for BGP: RT Constrained Route Distribution in below document

  • BGP Route Policy for transit AS

    Hello,
    Can anyone could tell me how route policy in (RPL) should look like - some best practice .
    Simple situation. I have two ISP's, one Client ( I am transit AS for Client).
    ISP1  AS 100  ------
                                    ----------    MY AS 300  ( I am BGP transit for  client)       ------------  My BGP CLIENT AS 400
    ISP2  AS 200 ------
    What I configured already are 4 route-policy ( two for isp's  in/out  and two for client in/out)
    route-policy client-in
    route-policy client-out
    route-policy  isp-in
    route-policy  isp-out
    as-path-set aspath_Other
      ios-regex '.*'
    end-set
    as-path-set aspath_Local_plus_Client
      ios-regex '^$',
      ios-regex '^400'
    end-set
    as-path-set aspath_Client
        ios-regex '^400'
    end-set
    route-policy isp-in
        pass
    end-policy
    route-policy isp-out
      if (as-path in aspath_Local_plus_Client) then
        pass
      elseif (as-path in aspath_Other) then
        drop
      endif
    end-policy
    route-policy client-out
      pass
    end-policy
    route-policy client-in
      if (as-path in aspath_Client) then
        pass
      elseif (as-path in aspath_Other) then
        drop
      endif
    end-policy
    I am not sure about route-policy client-in  ( should I use aspath like above or e.g prefix-list  .. )?
    regards,

    Hi,
    you may find this reference useful that talks about inline vs named lists when it comes to RPL.
    named lists are easier to edit and preferred when the lists are long, but inline sets are faster to process.
    When stating faster, you should think in usec improvements.
    One improvement I see is that you can change this:
    route-policy client-in
      if (as-path in aspath_Client) then
        pass
      elseif (as-path in aspath_Other) then
        drop
      endif
    end-policy
    to this:
    route-policy client-in
      if (as-path in aspath_Client) then
        pass
      else
        drop
      endif
    end-policy
    Considering the aspath other is a catch all it is a waste of cycles to invoke regex to make sure that it is matches any.
    On the topic of using prefix sets vs AS paths there are probably different opinions about it.
    If your client originates prefixes that are not theirs your policy still accepts them and will result in rogue routing and hijacking of prefixes.
    So with that I would recomment using a prefix set to accept prefixes from my client, just to make sure that we accept legimate prefixes. You dont want to be the guy that sourced rogue prefixes because of a client misconfiguration.

  • Actiontec MI424WR Router Connection Problems

    Over the past several days I have continued to have intermittent internet connection problems. All my computers are wired eithernet connections to the Verizon FIOS Actiontec router. I called FIOS tech support yesterday and they were no help, the said they found no problems with the connection.  The tech support said it was most liley a problem with using Dell Computers as most problems that he has had to troubleshoot were Verizon Customers who used Dell Computers.  Well I have 3 Dell Computers and 2 are VIsat and 1 XP...All have the same intermittent internet connection problesms.   I notice that wihle  tying to connect to a webpage the Actiontec router looses connection, the WAN Coax and Internet lights go out.  It take the router 10 -30 secs to reconnect to the internet. I have re-booted and also have performed a hard re-set of the Actiontec router, same problem still ocurring again today. It has ocurring on all 3 computers and there is no specific website. Just a couple a minutes ago lost conneciton while reviewing the football scores on ESPN.com.
    Does this look like bad router or NAT Address problem that people are talking about.

    The first thing I would check is your coax connections.  You shouldn't be loosing your Coax wan connection.  Check it there are any old splitters on the coax, check the ends and make sur ethey aren't cruddy crimped connectors.  If everything is new I would call the fsc and tell them that your loosing your wan coax light and arrange to have a field tech visit.  It could be something as simple as wiring or something more involved such as replacing your ont.

  • Router connection problems - DISH satellite receivers or too many devices?

    (Sorry about that - I thought I had broken the message up.)
    I'm having significant issues with my Linksys router timing out, and need help. I'll try to be as detailed as I can.
    I have the following:
    - Linksys WRT54G v3 wireless router I purchased off eBay 3-4 years ago. Using 128-bit WEP secirity. Even though the model says WRT54G, my Linksys setup page says I have a WRT54GL. Don't know if that's pertinent but thought I'd include the info)
    - HP desktop running Vista Home Premium
    - Gateway Solo laptop (circa 3Q 2002) running WinXP SP3, and also have WPC54G - Wireless-G Notebook Adapter
    - Gateway M275 Notebook running Windows XP Tablet Edition w/SP3, internal wireless card
    - Linksys WRE54G Wireless Range Expander, v3
    My broadband internet connects to my cable modem, which then runs via ethernet to my router. I have my desktop connected to my router via (wired) ethernet cable (port 1), and the two laptops connect wirelessly. All three computers on my network run just fine and have had no connection issues until I had two (2) DISH satellite receivers installed this past Friday.
    Prior to installation, I knew I would need the two receivers hooked up to my network via ethernet cable. Since one receiver was in the same room as my router, it was easy to run an ethernet cable from my router to the receiver (port 2). I had a challenge with the upstairs receiver, because I didn't have a direct connection, and wasn't sure how to wire it. So, I used my range expander by plugging in the expander into a nearby outlet, then connecting the receiver to the expander via ethernet cable.
    I had some issues getting a good signal, and did some troubleshooting but made it work. Now I had five devices connected to my router: two with a wired ethernet cable and three wirelessly.
    I started having connection timeouts within about 3-4 hours of satellite [receiver] installation. All of the sudden I couldn't connect to the internet on ANY device; both laptops couldn't connect wirelessly, my desktop couldn't connect, and the receivers were telling me my connection was bad. I checked modem but there were no issues. Still, I unplugged the power cable from the modem for a minute, then reconnected - still no internet. I called my cable company to have them troubleshoot the modem, but they pinged it several times & got positive results - still no internet, so I ruled the modem out.
    I tried using the Windows connection troubleshooter to repair the problem, and got a DNS error message (which I don't know how to fix). I decided to unplug my router for 10-15 seconds, then plug back in - that got my internet connection going again. That lasted a couple hours & then failed. I unplugged the router again (is that a soft reset or a power cycle?), then reconnected & was able to connect to the internet. This happened a few more times over the weekend, and finally I decided the expander might be the issue (both DISH and Linksys tech support was not very helpful).
    I found a way to wire my second receiver via ethernet cable (port 3), so now I had three wired devices, and two wireless devices. I thought this would fix the problem; it didn't, but at least I learned how to wire CAT5 cable. So I got that going for me... which is nice.
    I plugged the ethernet cable directly from my modem to my desktop to test the timeout, but had no issues - the modem just wasn't the problem.
    I was getting some IP address conflicts on my Norton Inernet Security, so I uninstalled that from my desktop, disconnected the power from the modem, disconnected the power from the router, shut down all devices, reset the IP addresses on the receivers, deleted the wireless connection from the laptops, shut down the desktop, and just left the whole mess alone for half a day. Then I reinstalled the Norton Internet Security, connected my wired devices, plugged the modem in, plugged the router in, reset my security, connected wirelessly with my laptops.
    Within an hour my connection timed out.
    Trying to chat with tech support wasn't feasible, as my connection kept going out. A guy at work said I shoudl ping my IP address, and let it repeat until my connection goes out. So I unplugged the router and plugged it back in to get an internet connection, the opened a cmd prompt and typed
    ping 192.168.1.1 -t
    I left it alone for a few hours, and when I came back, my internet connection was down, but I was still getting active pings - no problems there.
    At this point I thought I had done everything except replacing my router (which I'm still tempted to do), but I called my broadband provider to see if there was anything they could do. One of the techs said I had too many devices connected to the internet, but I thought these routers were supposed to handle dozens of devices?
    I finally called Linksys Tech Support and had a conversation for 90 minutes. We went through all the steps of unplugging the the modem, router & all connected devices, resetting the router, etc, etc. The only thing different he did was had me change my security from WPA to 64-bit WEP, and added passwords for DNA1 and DNS 2 (same password for each).
    That was at 1:30am last night, and when I woke up to check my connection this morning, it was still connected. I have to check it again when I get home, but I'm wondering if I should just be prepared to get another router (and if so, any recommendations), or if there's something I'm still not doing that could resolve my issue - if I still have connection losses.
    Also, I'm concerned about the security thing. If changing from WEP 128 or WPA to WEP 64 fixed my problem, I'm not sure I feel completely protected from intrusion - isn't that pretty much the least amount of security I can have (without forgoing it altogether)??
    Finally, I've read a few threads suggesting possibly changing to static IP from DHCP; however, my satellite receiver installation documentation specifically advises against this for the receivers.
    Anyway, I would very much appreciate some help.

  • Linksys wireless router G problem with ASUS Eee PC 1000H laptop

    This is a new laptop with a Ralink rt2860 chipset. Problem: I have trouble connecting to the router at my office. When I can connect, I often get such a low connection speed that the signal drops out and I lose the connection entirely. I have no trouble connecting to other routers. ASUS tech support says this is not a problem with the laptop. The rep told me that some "older" routers have a problem recognizing the Ralink chipset. Logically, if I can connect but it drops out, does this indicate a need for a signal booster? Does anyone know about any related compatibility issues? Thanks for any help; this is driving me nutty!

    I know just enough to be dangerous. How is the change the channel on the router changed? Sounds like a system administrator job...

  • Routing engine problems: partition_id AND frequent exceptions in responses

    Hi.
    I want to use Oracle routing engine with Oracle Spatial 10gR2 for Europe.
    I have tables NODE, EDGE, SIGN_POST and PARTITION populated okay with data from a data vendor.
    I have 600000 edges and 415000 nodes. 128 partitions were generated by
    using: exec SDO_ROUTER_PARTITION.partition_router('NODE_PART', 4000);
    Two issues occur to me:
    1. select num_nodes from partition where partition_id = 0; returns 390 nodes, but neither in table node nor edge are records with partition_id = 0, which is as I have learned the Highway Partition. Does that make sense?
    2. Route requests sometimes return correct results, but more frequently routing engine exceptions:
    Most popular are:
    - Route not found between destination/source node and highway network!
    - mbrAwareAStarSearch could not find a route!
    What might be wrong?
    I also experience both problems with the NAVTEQ example data for San Francisco extracted from sf_routing.zip.
    Below find requests leading to exceptions indicated using NAVTEQ example data extracted from sf_routing.zip in order to make the described reproducable:
    1. Route not found between destination/source node and highway network!:
    <?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>
    <route_request id="8"
    route_preference="shortest"
    road_preference="highway"
    return_driving_directions="false"
    distance_unit="km"
    time_unit="hour"
         return_route_geometry="true"
    pre_geocoded_locations="true">
    <start_location>
    <pre_geocoded_location id="1">
    <edge_id>-37847628</edge_id>
    <percent>.5</percent>
    <side>L</side>
    </pre_geocoded_location>
    </start_location>
    <end_location>
    <pre_geocoded_location id="2">
    <edge_id>-37846969</edge_id>
    <percent>.5</percent>
    <side>R</side>
    </pre_geocoded_location>
    </end_location>
    </route_request>
    2. - mbrAwareAStarSearch could not find a route!
    <?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>
    <route_request id="8"
    route_preference="shortest"
    road_preference="highway"
    return_driving_directions="false"
    distance_unit="km"
    time_unit="hour"
         return_route_geometry="true"
    pre_geocoded_locations="true">
    <start_location>
    <pre_geocoded_location id="1">
    <edge_id>-37827163</edge_id>
    <percent>.5</percent>
    <side>R</side>
    </pre_geocoded_location>
    </start_location>
    <end_location>
    <pre_geocoded_location id="2">
    <edge_id>-37847628</edge_id>
    <percent>.5</percent>
    <side>R</side>
    </pre_geocoded_location>
    </end_location>
    </route_request>

    The highway partition, partition zero, is "logical" idea. That is it only exists in the partition table. Each node and edge in the data belongs to a partition that it shares with other nodes or edges in the same physical area. This physical relationship is shown in the partition ids stored in the edge and node tables. Once these partitions are figured out each edge is looked at to see if it's a highway edge, that is, it has a func_class of 1 or 2. Once this is done these edges have their start and end nodes classified as highway nodes and those are considered to be in partition zero also.
    I've run into the MBR error you're seeing in my testing and have been looking into it. Forgive my poor analogy, but there appear to be "holes" in the highway system. If one has a major artery, say interstate 95 coming out of FL, all routes between FL and VA are going to want to use that major artery. If there was a "hole" in interstate 95, a section that was not classified as a highway section thus not in partition 0, those routes would be dropped as unusable. If all the routes get dropped in this way you get the mbrAwareAStarSearch error.
    I haven't seen the other error but I'll use your example and have a look into it.

  • IChat problem - is router the problem and can I do anything to solve it?

    I am in Ireland at the moment visiting my family. We all have Macs - IBook G4, MacBook and mine is MacBook (new this August). I can use iChat (video etc) with my family back in the U.S. and with my brother-in-law who lives in Ireland. The problem is with a iBookG4, which my sister has. She has a Netopia router with Eircom (on DSL). We've been able to video conference with each other in the same house, but neither of us can do a video conference with anyone else, so we think that the problem is with the router. It is "Type 0X21" and has 12 VDC, 800mA - this is written on the backside of it. Not sure if that means anything, but I thought I would include it, just in case. Is there anything I can do via either computer to access the firewall(s) in the router that I could change? Or any other suggestions? I have already set the Quicktime speeds etc. like suggested in other forums. And as I can iChat very successfully from my brother-in-law's house, I guess the problem does not lie within my computer.
    Thanks - Geraldine

    I was able to solve the problem. I contacted Eircom and the agent told me to set my firewall at "low" - and that helped for a while. I was able to video conference from my computer and my sister's. Then they both stopped working again. My husband did some research (not sure where) but he gave me some port numbers to add and that seemed to do the trick. Once in a while I cannot make a connection, but I think that is due to traffic on the DSL.
    Just in case this might help some other Irish iChatter with Eircom and Netopia
    here is what my husband found for me
    Apple Menu ->System Preferences ->,from View Menu ->Sharing ->Firewall tab -> New ->Port ->Other ->Port Number (Range or Series Field) type in:
    5060, 5190, 5297, 5298, 5678
    In the Description Field type in: iChat AV.
    Click OK.
