Row data to column conversion (Using PiVOT)

Hi,
I have a query and I want mentioned result below. I tried with some extend or different way even. But not able fetch all records.
Query with sample data: -
WITH data1(col_name,col_value) AS
SELECT 'Bike','Honda' FROM dual UNION ALL
SELECT 'Model','Zmr' FROM dual UNION ALL
SELECT 'Count','40' FROM dual UNION ALL
SELECT 'Bike','Yamaha' FROM dual UNION ALL
SELECT 'Model','R1' FROM dual UNION ALL
SELECT 'Count','45' FROM dual UNION ALL
SELECT 'Bike','Ducati' FROM dual UNION ALL
SELECT 'Model','Xxx' FROM dual UNION ALL
SELECT 'Count','25' FROM dual
SELECT * from data1
PIVOT ( MIN(col_value) -- checked:
FOR col_name IN ('Bike' As "BiKe", 'Model' AS "MoDeL", 'Count' "CNT")
-- I can use only aggregate functions here to get the result as expected, but it shows me one record( also not correctly)
Expected Output:-
BiKe   MoDeL  CNT
Honda  Zmr    40
Yamaha R1     45
Ducati Xxx    25Even, if it is not possible with pivot, then tell me some other way around. I tried with that common link(hierarchical links thread) in forum; but not able to get proper result in that.
I might have missed/lost somewhere in previous discussions. So excuse me if the question might get repeated! But I want to know right here on this thread as I tried lot to find out exactly or I might be missing something silly. So you can point me out too.
Thanks!

WITH data1 (col_name, col_value) AS

         SELECT 'Model', 'Zmr' FROM DUAL
         UNION ALL
         SELECT 'Count', '40' FROM DUAL

         UNION ALL
         SELECT 'Bike', 'Ducati' FROM DUAL
         UNION ALL
         SELECT 'Model', 'Xxx' FROM DUAL
         UNION ALL
         SELECT 'Count', '25' FROM DUAL)
SELECT bike, model, cnt

                       LEAD (col_value, 1, NULL)
OVER (PARTITION BY 1 ORDER BY 1)
                          t
                  FROM data1 a) a)
WHERE 1 = 1 AND col_name = 'Bike';output:
BIKE     MODEL     CNT

  • How to convert row data into columns without using pivot table?

    Hello guys
I have a report that has several columns about sales call type and call counts
    It looks like this:
    Calls Type Call Counts
    Missed 200
    Handled 3000000
    Rejected 40000
    Dropped 50000
Now I wanna create a report that look like this:
Missed call counts Handled Call counts Rejected Counts Drop counts Other Columns
    200 300000000 40000 50000 Data
So that I can perform other calculations on the difference and comparison of handled calls counts vs other call counts..
I know pivot table view can make the report look like in such way, but they cant do further calculations on that..
So I need to create new solid columns that capture call counts based on call types..
How would I be able to do that on Answers? I don't have access to the RPD, so is it possible to do it sololy on answers? Or should I just ask ETL support on this?
Any pointers will be deeply appreciated!
    Thank you

    Thanks MMA
I followed your guidance and I was able to create a few new columns of call missed count, call handled counts and call abandoned counts.. Then I create new columns of ave missed counts, ave handled counts and so forth..
Then I went to the pivot view, I realized there is a small problem.. Basically the report still includes the column "call types" which has 3 different types of call "miss, abandon and handled". When I exclude this column in my report, the rest of the measures will return wrong values. When I include this column in the report, it shows duplicate values by 3 rows. It looks like this:
Queue name Call types Call handled Call missed Call abondoned
    A Miss 8 10 15
    A Handled 8 10 15
    A Abandoned 8 10 15
in pivot table view, if I move call type to column area, the resulted measures will become 8X3, 10X3 and 15X3
So is there a way to eliminate duplicate rows or let the system know not to mulitply by 3?
Or is this as far as presentation service can go in terms of this? Or should I advice to provide better data from the back end?
    Please let me know, thanks

    Hi,
That's called a Pivot.  In Oracle 8.1 and higher, you can use ROW_NUMBER, CASE, and an aggregate function, such as MIN for pivoting. (Starting in Oracle 11, there's SELECT ... PIVOT.)
You didn't post CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements for your table, so I'll use scott.emp to illustrate:
    WITH   got_r_num   AS
        SELECT  deptno
        ,       job
        ,       ename
        ,       ROW_NUMBER () OVER ( PARTITION BY  deptno
                                     ,             job
                                     ORDER BY      ename
                                    )  AS r_num
        FROM    scott.emp
    SELECT    deptno
    ,         job
    ,         MIN (CASE WHEN r_num = 1 THEN ename END)   AS ename_1
    ,         MIN (CASE WHEN r_num = 2 THEN ename END)   AS ename_2
    ,         MIN (CASE WHEN r_num = 3 THEN ename END)   AS ename_3
    FROM      got_r_num
    GROUP BY  deptno
    ,         job
    ORDER BY  deptno
    ,         job
    Output:
        DEPTNO JOB       ENAME_1    ENAME_2    ENAME_3
            10 CLERK     MILLER
            10 MANAGER   CLARK
            10 PRESIDENT KING
            20 ANALYST   FORD       SCOTT
            20 CLERK     ADAMS      SMITH
            20 MANAGER   JONES
            30 CLERK     JAMES
            30 MANAGER   BLAKE
            30 SALESMAN  ALLEN      MARTIN     TURNER
If you do happen to have more than 3 items, the query still works, but only the first 3 are shown.  (In deptno=10, there is a 4th SALESMAN named WARD.)

  • How do I sort data in columns using Pages

How do I sort data in columns (alphabetically) using Pages?

If you are referring to text or numbers in a column (not table), then get the free Service plug-in WordService, from Devon Technologies. Put it in the
    /Users/yourlogin/Library/Services folder location.
Select your data to be sorted. From the Pages menu > Services > Sort Ascending will do the trick. This will work with Pages ’09 and Pages v5.2 or later, as well as Apple Mail, TextEdit, etc.
The WordService files include a PDF (Read Me) that describes the services included with the package.
The Service items will only appear in the Services submenu when you have selected your data prior to sort. If these WordService items do not appear in the Services menu as they should per the preceding sentence, then you will need to enable them.
System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Services. Scroll through the right hand list of services until you encounter Sort Ascending and ensure that it is selected.
If you were referring to sorting a column of data in a table:
    Pages ’09
Select all cells containing your unordered data. In the Table Inspector, under Edit Rows & Columns, choose Sort Ascending.
    Pages v5.2
Select cells as before. In the Table heading (A, B, C, etc.) when you roll over the letter, a down-arrow appears. Click, and choose Sort Ascending from the drop down menu.

    Hi,
I have found this is useful. But it is static. It wont work if we dont know the maximum number of rows present when grouped by ID.
Is there any other solution, which will give correct values, if we dont know the row count when grouped by ID.
    SELECT hrid,
    MAX(case when seq=1 then rel_name end) AS "rel_name1",
    MAX(case when seq=1 then rel_relation end) AS "rel_relation1",
    MAX(case when seq=1 then rel_phone end) AS "rel_phone1",
    MAX(case when seq=2 then rel_name end) AS "rel_name2",

Can you help me if is possible to create a pivottable binding to a one ViewObject and in code show/hide or compose the layout of the pivottable ??
I search in google and OTN oracle and not find any code.
Only find the code of the samples that is very complex for me , the code of the samples create the PivotTableModel from one Array , and i want to binding from one ADB BC ViewObject.
    Thanks in advance

The solution I presented for your use case an DOAG 2013 was to create a pivot table binding out of user defined attributes from the table. For the defined attributes a VO is dynamically created as well as the pivot binding. The pivot binding is then exchanged at runtime together with the activation of the dynamic VO needed to only get the data needed for the particularly pivot table.
Your solution using the CubicEditor is hard to implement due to the missing documentation. This was the reason I did not follow this approach, However it's not impossible (done it on a very small scale).
None of the solution are what I call simple. They are complicated, complex and in part not supported solution (exchanging the pivot table binding at runtime need to use internal classes, which is not supported).
I can't give you a working sample as it's too complex. I can make the slides available, however they are in German.

    Hi,
In 11g you can use pivot.
    example
    SQL> desc customers
    Name                                      Null?    Type
    CUST_ID                                            NUMBER(10)
    CUST_NAME                                          VARCHAR2(20)
    STATE_CODE                                         VARCHAR2(2)
    TIMES_PURCHASED                                    NUMBER(3)
    When this table is selected:
    select cust_id, state_code, times_purchased
    from customers
    order by cust_id;
    The output is:
    CUST_ID STATE_CODE TIMES_PURCHASED
          1 CT                       1
          2 NY                      10
          3 NJ                       2
          4 NY                       4
    ... and so on ...
Note how the data is represented as rows of values: For each customer, the record shows the customer's home state and how many times the customer purchased something from the store. As the customer purchases more items from the store, the column times_purchased is updated.
Now consider a case where you want to have a report of the purchase frequency each statethat is, how many customers bought something only once, twice, thrice and so on, from each state. In regular SQL, you can issue the following statement:
    select state_code, times_purchased, count(1) cnt
    from customers
    group by state_code, times_purchased;
    Here is the output:
    ST TIMES_PURCHASED        CNT
    CT               0         90
    CT               1        165
    CT               2        179
    CT               3        173
    CT               4        173
    CT               5        152
    ... and so on ...
This is the information you want but it's a little hard to read. A better way to represent the same data may be through the use of crosstab reports, in which you can organized the data vertically and states horizontally, just like a spreadsheet:
    Times_purchased
CT           NY         NJ      ... and so on ...
    1             0            1          0      ...
    2            23          119         37      ...
    3            17           45          1      ...
    ... and so on ...
Prior to Oracle Database 11g, you would do that via some sort of a decode function for each value and write each distinct value as a separate column. The technique is quite nonintuitive however.
Fortunately, you now have a great new feature called PIVOT for presenting any query in the crosstab format using a new operator, appropriately named pivot. Here is how you write the query:
    select * from (
       select times_purchased, state_code
       from customers t
    pivot
       count(state_code)
       for state_code in ('NY','CT','NJ','FL','MO')
    order by times_purchased
    Here is the output:
. TIMES_PURCHASED       'NY'       'CT'       'NJ'       'FL'       'MO'
                  0      16601         90          0          0          0
                  1      33048        165          0          0          0
                  2      33151        179          0          0          0
                  3      32978        173          0          0          0
                  4      33109        173          0          1          0
    ... and so on ...

  • Discoverer Export Problem - Column headers dropped & row data used instead

In Discoverer 9i, when I export the data for a 12 month period from one of my workbooks to Excel 2002, three of the twelve column headers are dropped in the spreadsheet and one piece of row data is used as a column header instead. The total number of records exported for the workbook is 33586 which is below the export limit for Excel. This problem does not happen when 11 months of data (28174 rows) is exported out to Excel. Any idea what may be causing this?
    Regards,
    Andrew

    pallen,
As usual the Express VI has its limitations.  It seems to be setup for a 2D array of info in this case.  The best way I've found is to name range in template and use the Excel Easy Table.vi.

  • How to transpose rows into multiple columns using pivot table

I have 1 row containing 12 columns with value "JAN", "FEB", "MAR", "J-1","F-1","M-1","J-2","F-2","M-2","J-3","F-3","M-3"
    I want to display as
    JAN J-1 F-1 M-1
    FEB J-2 F-2 M-2
    MAR J-3 F-3 M-3
How do I achieve the above?

Today you have only 3 months JAN, FEB, MAR. Is it always the same number of columns. What if there are more months added to this row?
Is your data really coming from relational source or some sort of text file?
There is a better way to do this in narrative view using HTML if your requirement is just to show them in multiple rows and do some calculations.
    Go to Narrative View;
    In prefix, use <html> <table>
In 'Narrative' text box add something like this
    <tr> <td> @1 </td> <td> @4 </td> <td> @7 </td> </tr>
    <tr> <td> @2 </td> <td> @5 </td> <td> @8 </td> </tr>
    <tr> <td> @3 </td> <td> @6 </td> <td> @9 </td> </tr>
    In Suffix, use </table> </html>
You can also add simple calculations like sum etc at the very bottom of these rows as grand totals.

  • How to transpose the data records (rows) to column(lists) using apd

    Hi,
how to transpose the data records (rows) to column (lists) using apd  in sap bw.
I do not want to use abap routine.only use the transpose rows to list  transformation .
Pls provide the step by step procedure .
    thanks,
    Nimai

Save youe file to transpose as a csv and in the header row of your file for the columns you want to transpose you need to put some soer of a tag before the column name (ie your colum header was for a period budget will be something lie 2011001:ZFIBDD)
    1. You will need to create a new apd process (rsanwb)
    2. Insert a "Read from Data File" data source object and map it file (,csv)
    3. insert a transpose object into your apd process (middle row 4th one over in the transformations section)
    4. under the definition tab in the transformation object select all the columns that are to be transposed into rows and move them to the transformed area, the grouping fields section should contain the rows that you want to now be columns
5.under the transformation tab enter in the seperator you selected  under the Field Name/Infoobject area (ie. ZFIBDD)
    6. under the details tab  you need to enter in all the fields to be transformed and tner the transposition field (ie ZFIBDD)
    7. Then you can insert a set of transformations and a DSO and link the newly transposed fields into that.
    hope that helps

  • Second row data -  First row data of other column?

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to show the second row data of the column1 as first row in column2. Please see the example below, where month is filtered <= 05.
    Month    Sales    Sales_New
    01         500      600
    02         600      700
    03         700      800
    04         800      900
05         900      NULLIn the above example for month 05, column Sales_New should show NULL because it is the last row of the query.
    Thanks in advance.

Something gone wrong with your config....!!
    How about
"In Criteria tab use Month descending order and in Pivot table use ascending order"
This is mandatory to achieve this..
FYI: I've tested this in my local.
If you need will send screenshot
I appreciate if you mark as correct ;) else let me know
