I have a Table Region, Columns Are Tied to ViewObject . Veiwobject is not tied to any Enitity. it is Only Logiical.
I have a subnit button , couple of text fields

Hi Nilesh,
   Instead of using the standard subform control..
try adding a normal button , and in Onclick event add the following script... which will create a new row..
eg... script
data.Main.form1.table.row.instanceManager.addInstance(1);

  • Single-row refresh in ADF tables, with PPR

    Hello everybody. I have an application in JDeveloper 11gR2 environment.
    Here are my requirements:
    1. I have a table, each cell is an input text;
    2. Some cell must be rendered differently depending on a specific key-field (for example, input or output text)
    3. Any manual change in the key-field must result in a re-rendering of the interested row, not the entire table.
    I addressed req 2 using an af:switcher which renders either a facet or another, evaluating the key-field.
    About req 3, I tried to set auto-submit to true on key-field and then specifying partialTriggers="key-field-id" in the column component including the switcher.
    It works, with 2 issues:
    a) the main one: it refreshes the entire table (which simply disappear/reappears when I tab out of the key-field);
    b) the second one: I'd prefer not to use the auto-submit 'cause I don't want to submit anything, yet: I just want to change rendering/values of other cells.
    Any idea?
    Thanks a lot,
    Emanuele

    Hi,
    I addressed req 2 using an af:switcher which renders either a facet or another, evaluating the key-field.
    I would have used an af:inputText field and set the readOnly property to true for the read only fields. This can be done through EL
    About req 3, I tried to set auto-submit to true on key-field and then specifying partialTriggers="key-field-id" in the column component including the switcher.
    It works, with 2 issues:
    You cannot just refresh a single row. The table is stamped at rendering, which means individual rows are not represented by their own object

  • Tabular: Row filter on USERNAME() still returns all rows if current user is NOT matched in table??

    I have a table (basically the same setup in the various dynamic security in tabular blogs) where the table contains WindowsUserName stored as domain\username.
    I have a Row Filter on the table: SecurityTable has a filter of =SecurityTable[WindowsUserName]=USERNAME()
    When a user connects to the tabular model AND their name is matched in one of the rows they return JUST the rows with their match.  Which makes sense.
    However, if a user connects and their Windows user name is NOT in a row in that table....they return ALL rows???
    That makes no sense to me.
    It behaves almost as if it is doing a check and if it DOESN'T find a match it just returns all values.
    What am I missing?
    --------------EDIT-----------
    Found the issue: that use was (unknown to me) a domain admin, so... admin rights trump all :)

    Resolved:
    User had admin rights, didn't realize this at the time.

  • How do you select n rows and not the whole table

    Hi
    I would like to only select the first 50 rows from a table and not the entire table. how do i accomplish this
    Thanks

    Sayeed's example will work great if you don't care which 50 rows you get back. If you do, you can use an inline view to sort them first and get back a ranked result set:
    select *
      from (select whatever
            from table
           order by key desc
    where rownum <= 50

  • Issues with Advance Table Add Row New Row not work in some scenarios.

    Hi,
    Wondering if there's any issue with Advanced Tables where it does not create any rows. I don't know if anyone tried this or not. I have one OA Page with Advanced Table and a button that when clicked open a new OA Page in a POP-UP Window. The pop-up page conatins one textbox where u enter a data and this gets saved in one of the VO's transient attribute. Now on the ase page if you don't click a button to open a pop-up page you can Add New Rows in the Advanced Table by clicking Add Row Button. But as soon as you open a popup window and close it Add New Rows button doesn't work and is not creating any new rows. Basically page stops working. Both the POP-UP and the base page share the same AM but have different controllers.
    POP-UP page is a custom page that I open giving the Destination URI value in the button item and target frame _blank.
    I even tried creating rows programmatically for Advance Table but this too doesn't work once u open a pop-up. Also I have used pageContext.putTransactionValue in the pop-up page and am checking and removing this in the base page.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

  • How to dynamically display the data from a table base on row selection of another table in ADF

    Hi ,
    I have a requirement in ADF. I need to change the data of a table  based on row selection of another Table . Both the table have a Parent Child relationship between them. They have a common attribute say department_id.
                                                                                         For this I created bind variable in view object of employees table and wrote a where clause in the sql query using that bind variable. Then I created method for selection listener of department Table in java bean.
    My method is following
        public void onrowselection(SelectionEvent selectionEvent) {
            RichTable richTable = (RichTable)selectionEvent.getSource();
                            CollectionModel tableModel = (CollectionModel)richTable.getValue();
                            JUCtrlHierBinding adfTableBinding = (JUCtrlHierBinding)tableModel.getWrappedData();
                            Object selectedRowData = richTable.getSelectedRowData();
                            JUCtrlHierNodeBinding nodeBinding = (JUCtrlHierNodeBinding)selectedRowData;
                    oracle.jbo.domain.Number newVal = (oracle.jbo.domain.Number) nodeBinding.getAttribute("DepartmentId");
                    Number pallet = newVal.bigDecimalValue();
                    System.out.println("Selected values " + pallet);
            BindingContext bindingctx = BindingContext.getCurrent();
                          BindingContainer bindings = bindingctx.getCurrentBindingsEntry();
                          DCBindingContainer bindingsImpl = (DCBindingContainer) bindings;
                  DCIteratorBinding dciter = bindingsImpl.findIteratorBinding("EmployeesView1Iterator");//access the iterator by its ID value in the PageDef file
                          ViewObject vo =dciter.getViewObject();
                          vo.setNamedWhereClauseParam("DepartmentId", pallet);//enter your value
                          vo.executeQuery();
    It is printing the selected value of department id from department table in the log. But it is not able to pass the value to employees view. It is showing the following error in the log
    "Definition DepartmentId of type Variable is not found in EmployeesView1."
    I will be very thankful if someone helps me to solve this errror or is there any other way to achieve the same requirement.
    Thanks
    Nilesh

    Note quite sure why you simply wont create a viewlink for the viewobject the tables are based on..
    The viewlink attribute will be based on the departmentId and it's a simple master detail relationship which automatically uses ppr.
    However, if both tables are on the same page; using your hack about;
    On the underlying viewobject, define a viewcriteria e.g. "listById" and set your bind variable here.
    I would bind table two to a RichTable component:
    RichTable t2;
    public void onrowselection(SelectionEvent selectionEvent) {
            RichTable richTable = (RichTable)selectionEvent.getSource();
                            CollectionModel tableModel = (CollectionModel)richTable.getValue();
                            JUCtrlHierBinding adfTableBinding = (JUCtrlHierBinding)tableModel.getWrappedData();
                            Object selectedRowData = richTable.getSelectedRowData();
                            JUCtrlHierNodeBinding nodeBinding = (JUCtrlHierNodeBinding)selectedRowData;
                    oracle.jbo.domain.Number newVal = (oracle.jbo.domain.Number) nodeBinding.getAttribute("DepartmentId");
                    Number pallet = newVal.bigDecimalValue();
                    System.out.println("Selected values " + pallet);
                   refreshTable2(pallet);
            BindingContext bindingctx = BindingContext.getCurrent();
                          BindingContainer bindings = bindingctx.getCurrentBindingsEntry();
                          DCBindingContainer bindingsImpl = (DCBindingContainer) bindings;
                  DCIteratorBinding dciter = bindingsImpl.findIteratorBinding("EmployeesView1Iterator");//access the iterator by its ID value in the PageDef file
                          ViewObject vo =dciter.getViewObject();
                          vo.setNamedWhereClauseParam("DepartmentId", pallet);//enter your value
                          vo.executeQuery();
    private void refreshTable2(Number pallet){
    RichTable x=getT2();
    CollectionModel cm=(CollectionModel)x.getValue();
    JUCtrlHierBinding jcb=(JUCtrlHierBinding)cm.getWrappedData();
    BindingContainer bindings = bindingctx.getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    DCBindingContainer bindingsImpl = (DCBindingContainer) bindings;
    DCIteratorBinding dciter = bindingsImpl.findIteratorBinding(jcb.getName()+"Iterator");
    ViewObject vo =dciter.getViewObject();
    ViewCriteriaManager vcm=vo.getViewCriteriaManager();
    ViewCriteria vc=vcm.getViewCriteria("listById");
    vo.applyViewCriteria(vc);
    vo.setNamedWhereClauseParam("DepartmentId",pallet);
    vo.executeQuery();
    AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(getT2());

  • Maintain the current row position of a table after refresh.

    Hi,
    I use a poll to refresh tables continuously. when a table is refreshed, the current referring row is reset.
    To maintain the current row position after a refresh I use the following poll method.
    public void refreshTableT1(PollEvent pollEvent) {
    FacesContext fctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ValueBinding dcb = fctx.getApplication().createValueBinding("#{bindings}");
    DCBindingContainer bindings1 = (DCBindingContainer) dcb.getValue(fctx);
    DCIteratorBinding dciter = bindings1.findIteratorBinding("<VOIterator>");
    if(dciter!=null){
    if(dciter.getCurrentRow()!=null){
    Key current_row_key = dciter.getCurrentRow().getKey();
    dciter.executeQuery();
    if(current_row_key!=null){
    try{
    dciter.setCurrentRowWithKey(current_row_key.toStringFormat(true));
    }catch(Exception ex) {
    System.out.println("Exception in current_row_key");
    }This works for normal tables well. But when I use it to master-detail tables (pair of tables) it does not.
    At the master-detail tables, before the first data fetch, it works well. if we go below the first data fetch, it sets the current row into another position.
    how can I overcome this...??
    Thanks,
    Dinuka.

    Hi Mr.Frank,
    I have an association in two VOs.
    for example: There are 2 tables called Emp and Dept. Every Department has Employees. so there is an association (both tables have a common column). Master table is the Dept table. when you click on one record of the Dept table Detail table will show the details of the employees belongs to that selected department. That's what I referred as master-detail tables. first one is master table; second one is detail table.
    When the web page loads all the table data is not fetched from the db (it will depend on the fetch size). when we scroll down the table data fetch happens again and again.
    think my data fetch size is 25 rows per time.
    Suppose we use mine poll method and think I have clicked on the 20 ^th^ row of table1(master table). then the table2 will display details belongs to selected department. that is OK even after refresh. that works well.
    when I go to 30 ^th^ row data fetch will happen (my fetch size = 25)
    when I click on the 30 ^th^ row of the table1(master table), table2 will display details belongs to selected department. but after the poll method is called the selected row at the table1 disappears and is set to another position. now the 30 ^th^ row is not in the 30 ^th^ position. but it is the selected row and table2 displays correct details.
    I think you have got the problem now. :D
    Thanks a lot.
    Dinuka.

  • ADF master-detail master selection not updating detail tables properly

    Hi All,
    I am using JDev version : 11.1.2.0.0
    I created new Fusion Web Application Module. In that module I created a master-detail data model and added them to a page fragment with a query panel. When I run it as a separate module, It works perfectly and Master selection correctly updates detail tables.
    But when I integrate that module to another Fusion Application(Add application jar file to the Master Application libraries), Master-details master selection not updating detail tables properly. This problem occurred sequentially.
    The problem is that.
    After the page load, first selection of the Master Table works correctly and detail tables update correctly.
    But second selection doesn't work, means detail table doesn't get update according to the Master table.
    And again in the third selection works correctly.
    This happens in a sequential manner. I monitor the behavior using Firebug. Observations are as follows,
    When running correctly, Response of the Post Definition is

    I could not figure out what went wrong when integrating to another module.
    Can you please help me to rectify this problem.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    sound to be an implementation specific issue that is hard to comment on without knowing how to reproduce it. If you have a rerooducible test case based on the Oracle HR schema using JDeveloper 11.1.1.6, zip it up, rename the "zip "extension to "unzip" and sent it to the mail address you find in my OTN profile. If you don't have that test case, explain how this can be reproduced

  • Empty report with pagination,  rows not displayed

    Dear HTML DB Team,
    We have in our reports the next error: An empty report with pagination appears , no rows not displayed
    The test case to reproduce the error:
    1. Create "SQL report" with next report attributes in "Layout and Pagination"
         a. Row ranges 1-15 16-30 in select list (with pagination)
    b. Number of Rows : 15
    c. Number of Rows (Item): empty
    d. Max Row Count: empty
    2. Fill the table on which the report is based with 17 rows
    3. Go to the 2nd page of the report , pagination rows 16-17 of 17
    4. Remove 2 rows from the table, refresh report
    5, The pagination shows now 1 - 15 of 15 rows
    - no rows displayed
    - no "previous button" ( only )
    - no way to get the rows displayed, except logging out and in again
    Any suggestions?
    Erik

    Hello,
    i encountered the same problem while developing in HTMLDB.
    In application builder, i select application Application 106, then click on items, then click next ( the application has 22 global items). Now i want to take a look at the global items in application 105 (there are only 5). In the menu i click Builder - Application 106, select application 105 from Available Applications, click Go and Items. It shows no rows, but says that is displaying rows 1-5, and offers a Next button. No way to see/modify the items unless make a new session or go back to Application 106, Click Previous to see the first page of global items and then again switch to Appication 105 or click to the next button and then manually set pg_min_row=1 in URL.
    One more question - is this forum the right place to report bug suspicions, or is there some other special place for that?
    Best regards,
    Andres

  • How can I modify this script to return only certain rows of my mySQL table?

    Hi there,
    I have a php script that accesses a mySQL database and it was generated out of the Flex Builder wizard automatically. The script works great and there are no problems with it. It allows me to perform CRUD on a table by calling it from my Flex app. and it retrieves all the data and puts it into a nice MXML format.
    My question, currently when I call "findAll" to retrieve all the data in the table, well, it retrieves ALL the rows in the table. That's fine, but my table is starting to grow really large with thousands of rows.
    I want to modify this script so that I can pass a variable into it from Flex so that it only retrieves the rows that match the "$subscriber_id" variable that I pass. In this way the results are not the entire table's data, only the rows that match 'subscriber_id'.
    I know how to pass a variable from Flex into php and the code on the php side to pick it up would look like this:
    $subscriberID = $_POST['subscriberID'];
    Can anyone shed light as to the proper code modification in "findAll" which will take my $subscriberID variable and compare it to the 'subscriber_id' field and then only return those rows that match? I think it has something to do with lines 98 to 101.
    Any help is appreciated.

  • Single row editing for multiple tables in a single page

    Hi!
    I have split a table with many many columns into more tables with a lower number of columns. There is an ID column (sequence generated) that is Primary Key common for all tables. Obviously, the relationship between these tables is 1 to 1, so it’s not about having to build master-detail pages.
    What I need now is to edit all these tables in a single page: one single row from each table. The Automated Row Fetch & Automatic Row Processing (DML) processes used for the old table must be replaced by something else.
    Is there a way to use in a single page more pairs of such processes for more tables?
    I want to avoid manually writing processes with lot of PL/SQL code to handle row fetch & update.
    Keep in mind that the page will have an ID item that can be used to identify unique rows in all my tables.
    Thanks,
    Sorin

    IMHO that is a very bad idea. There is nothing wrong with having many columns in a table. If you would like to split them to better "categorize" them, just create views on the table and expose different subsets of the columns.
    I want to avoid manually writing processes with lot of PL/SQL code to handle row fetch & update.
    That is unavoidable given how you have designed the underlying tables.
    You could try creating a view that joins all the tables by the PK and creating a form based on that view. Then write a INSTEAD OF trigger on the view that "doles out" the DML on the view to each of the underlying tables.

  • Extract Multiple Rows from a Single Table into a Single Row in a New Table

    I have a table in a database that contains contact data like name, address, phone number, etc.
    The folks who designed the database and wrote the application wrote it so that all contact records are placed in that table, regardless of contact type. In fact, the contacts table does not even have a column for "type" even though there are many
    different types of contacts present in that table.
    I am trying to write a mail merge style report in SRSS, that gets sent to a specific type of contact, based on criteria provided that must be obtained from another table, and that data is then used to get back to a specific set of contacts from the contacts
    table.
    The attached file directly below describes my problem and all related information in an extremely detailed way.
    SRSSMailMergeIssue.pdf
    Unless there is a way to make a SRSS Tablix point to two different data sets in SRSS, it looks like I have to combine multiple rows from the same table into a new table.
    If anyone can review the details in the attached pdf file and possibly point me in the direction I need to run to solve this probelm, I would greatly appreciate it.
    I also included a document (below) that shows the tables I reference in the probelm description.

    I found a solution.... and posted it below
