RPE-00249 when running a shell cmd

Getting error RPE-02249: Control Center property Shell.security_constraint has invalid value NATIVE_JAVA . when running a shell cmd. the vlaue set in the Runtime.properties file is set to NATIVE_JAVA.
Cannot find anything about this error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Guido

I already have the properties set as NATIVE_JAVA and restarted the service. My problem is that when running a workflow that has a user defined step in it to call a shell script, I get error 02249 (not 02248).
Does the Workflow user need to be set up as an OS users perhaps?

  • Issue with Enter-PSSession when running from the shell and via script

    Hello
    Can someone please help me with the following issue
    If I open the PowerShell console and do the following
    Enter-PSSession -computername Server1
    "This is a test" > C:\Log.txt
    Exit-PSSession
    It works e.g. the Log.txt file is create as expected on Server1
    However if I put the exact same command in a script and execute the script.
    ./TestScript.ps1
    The Log.txt file is created on my Client (e.g. PC) and not the Server1
    I also tried using $Session = New-PSSession -ComputerName Server1 etc.....
    then Enter-PSSession -Session $Session
    I also tried Enter-PSSession etc....
    Start-Sleep -seconds 60
    "This is a test" > C:\Log.txt
    Exit-PSSession
    Again no luck when running from shell all OK, then executing as a script (again from the command line) files is created on client
    Any ideas why this is happening please and how to resolve, I am using PowerShell v4 on the client and PowerShell v2 on the Server
    Thanks

    No, the command is explicitly designed for interactive use, not within a script. If you see
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh849707.aspx you'll even see it clearly state that it "Starts an interactive session with a remote computer".
    There are quite a few threads elsewhere on the same subject, all of which say the same thing, for instance
    http://powershell.com/cs/blogs/tips/archive/2010/11/15/enter-pssession-do-s-and-don-ts.aspx and
    http://powershell.org/wp/forums/topic/running-multiple-remote-commands-with-enter-pssession/ and
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/heyscriptingguy/archive/2009/10/29/hey-scripting-guy-october-29-2009.aspx and
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/scriptcenter/en-US/7e89b957-ff5b-42c4-b107-d7e18752fcf1/enterpssession-within-a-script
    So when you run it interactively, you've started the interactive connection to the remote computer and are now running the relevant commands on that machine. When you run it from the script it starts the remote connection, but crucially it doesn't use that
    new connection, the script is still being run in the current local session.
    When you think about it makes sense. Using the Invoke-command method you're connecting to a remote machine, sending the script block to the remote machine, and then running that block of code on the remote machine. The remote machine only knows about the
    code you send it, not the rest of the script (which is why if you use variables you have to pass them to invoke-command otherwise they won't be available to the script block on the remote machine. Conversely, when you use the Enter-PSSession method, you've
    connected to the remote machine, but you haven't passed any code to it. At that point you're on the remote machine, but it has no way to know what you want it to do since your script code is on the local machine. It can then either return to the local
    machine and run the next line of code locally (which it does), or sit there connected to the remote machine waiting input that will never come (which would be even less useful).

  • Inconsistent result when running in c# and running in dos shell

    Hi,
         I ran the following script in the MSDOS prompt and it worked fine and I get the string value:
    But if I run it in c# with this routine:
       cmd = "cscript"
       arg = "/c RemoteReadReg.vbs " + computername + keypath;
         PInfo = new ProcessStartInfo (cmd, arg );
         PInfo.UseShellExecute = false;
         Process = Process.Start(PInfo);
         Process.WaitForExit();
    The vb return with the error :  script runtime error: Type mismatch in the line
        Wscript.Echo strValue
    Do you know why the behaviour is different when run in dos shell as opposed to running in c#?
    RemoteReadReg.vbs
    Dim objArgs: Set objArgs = WScript.Arguments
    Dim strComputer: strComputer=objArgs(0)
    Dim strUser, strPassword
    Dim objSWbemLocator, objSWbemServices, objReg
    Dim strKeyPath: strKeyPath = objArgs(1)
    Dim strEntryName
    If (objArgs.length > 2 ) Then
    strEntryName = objArgs(2)
    End If
    Dim strValue
    Const HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE = &H80000002
    strUser = strComputer & "\user"
    strPassword = "password"
    Set objSWbemLocator = CreateObject("wbemScripting.SwbemLocator")
    Set objSWbemServices = objSWbemLocator.ConnectServer _
    (strComputer, "root\default", strUser, strPassword)
    Set objReg = objSWbemServices.Get("StdRegProv")
    objReg.GetStringValue HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, strKeyPath, strEntryName, strValue
    Wscript.Echo strValue

    Since the error occurs in a VBS script you should ask in a scripting forum, for example here:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/scriptcenter/en-US/home?forum=ITCG&filter=alltypes&sort=lastpostdesc
    As far ProcessStartInfo is concerned I don't see an issue except a (probably) stray /c argument, cscript doesn't have such an option.
    The real question is why do you even bother with this script? Same information can be obtained via C#, see here for an example:
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1155633/how-to-obtain-a-registry-value-from-a-remote-machine-if-i-dont-know-its-type
    It's more complicated because it tries to deal with every registry value type but if you only care about string value you can simplify that code a lot.

    I opened the contents of the application and run the shell script for opening aplication there it worked very fine and application started working.. But if i open application directly through launchpad or finder it doesnt show up and console
    I tried running those commands in the terminal directly there they work.. But dunno whats wrong in here. and even if try to open the application through the terminal it all opens fine.. what could be the possible problem, is it with my mac..?

    i finally figured out the problem.. it is with the environmental variables.  the path for all those commands like "grep" is not being set for the GUI applications.  that is why i got that error.
    for those GUI applications which require path, we have to set path in the file /etc/launchd.conf  the environmental variables set in here are used by the gui applications and those which are launched through spotlight.
    that file may bot be present in most of the macs. No problem even if not present,we can create one and use.
    so  type in terminal
              $ sudo vi /etc/launchd.conf
    and in the editor add these lines
              setenv PATH = /new/path
    and save.  Note: replace /new/path with the path which you need to have for the commands used in the script.
    remeber that you need to restart your mac for applications to use these environmental variables.

  • Process.Start - getting different output when running command using this method than I am if I run same command in CMD prompt

    Hi
    Creating an application to analyze .dmp files - all working well except this odd issue
    If I open command prompt and enter this command:-
    kd -z C:\Windows\MiniDump\042414-24632-01.dmp -c "!analyze -v"
    Then it works and shows me all the output I need (shown at bottom of post)
    If I run same command in VB.net using following code - then it doesn't give the same output - the bits I need at the end created by the !analyze -v switch don't appear
    Any ideas why it is not seeing the switch correctly - setting a breakpoint and checking contents of startinfo seems to be showing correct cmd line i.e. "kd -z C:\windows\minidump\042414-24632-01.dmp -c "!analyze –v;q""
    Dim myprocess As New Process()
    myprocess.StartInfo.FileName = "C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\8.1\Debuggers\x86\kd"
    myprocess.StartInfo.Arguments = "-z C:\windows\minidump\042414-24632-01.dmp -c ""!analyze –v;q"""
    myprocess.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = False
    myprocess.StartInfo.RedirectStandardOutput = True
    myprocess.StartInfo.CreateNoWindow = True
    myprocess.Start()
    TextBox1.AppendText(myprocess.StandardOutput.ReadToEnd())
    Output when run from cmd prompt:-

    Try it by opening the Cmd prompt as the actual process and passing the Filename and its arguments as the arguments of the Cmd process.  If you notice there is a "-C" before the Filename and Arguments in this example.  The "-C"
    tells the cmd to execute the commands and then close itself.  You can also use a "-K" which tells the cmd to execute the commands and keep itself open.  Being you are not showing the cmd window you don`t want to keep it opened because the
    user can`t close it so, that is why i used "-C".
     I don`t have the program so, you can just experiment to see what it does.  Maybe you should try using "-K" and show the cmd window by commenting out the CreateNoWindow line so you can see what is in the cmd window while testing.

  • Cmd window appears when running sqldeveloper.exe for some users

    All,
    I'm wondering why a cmd window appears when I double click the sqldeveloper.exe executable?
    This is a Windows 2008 server.
    Also, when the user that installed SQL Developer runs it, the cmd window has no text in it but when other users are logged into the server and run the same executable, they have a lot of messages appearing in the cmd window similar to:
    at org.apache.log4j.xml.DOMConfigurator.doConfigure<DOMConfigurator.java:616)
    What I'd like to do is NOT have any cmd window appear when the users run sqldeveloper.exe

    There are two sqldeveloper.exe files. The one in the root of the sqldeveloper installation folder doesn't produce a console; the one in <sqldev>\sqldevloper\bin does.

  • Problems running .bat or .cmd file when sent to workstations via SCCM 2012

    I made a simple cmd file Named UnELM.cmd with this one line in it.
    wusa /uninstall /kb:2959936 /quiet /norestart
    I can logon to a workstations (Windows 7 Ent) as Admin and run the cmd file and it works.
    I can copy cmd file to workstations and ues psexec from a remote computer and execute it and it works.
    But when I send the cmd file to the workstations via SCCM package, it reports that it was successful but it does not uninstall the KB.
    In my testing I watch the workstations and I see the cmd fille run but it does not uninstall the KB.
    Does anyone know why this will not work or how to make it work?
    Thanks
    John Killgore

    TBH John I usually use a custom Task Sequence to remove a KB. Add in a Run Command Line step.
    Enter C:\Windows\System32\wusa.exe /uninstall /kb:2959936 /quiet /norestart as the command line and check 'Disable 64-bit file system redirection'. Make it a required deployment to run as soon as possible.

  • I'm getting error when running exec of Process class

    Hi
    I am running a standalone application in WSAD 5 and the platform is Windows XP. I get the following error each time when I run this :
    java.io.IOException: CreateProcess: C: error=5
    The code snippet is the following :
    if (Runtime.getRuntime().exec("C:").waitFor() == 0){
    System.out.println("Run start........");
    Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cd WSAD
    \\Projects_Vaio\\Replicator_Project\n\r").waitFor();
    How can I get rid of this error ?
    Thanks for help.
    George

    C: is a buit-in command of the shell (cmd.exe).
    You'd better stuff everything into one batch file and launch it.

    Hello All,
    I searched quite a number of forums before posting and all that I have come to know is that some have mentioned it to be related to COM. I do not have experience dealing with COM and no idea how I can sort this out. I hope someone can provide guidance on
    these:

    Question 2: When the same command "Get-Website" is run locally on the server then only 5 columns show by default; Name, ID, State, Physical Path & Bindings. Why then the command when run remotely returns slightly
    more data?
    PS: I have Win7 x64 on my desktop. Tried the commands from x86 as well as x64 shells and same results.

    Hi Yan,
    When I use Enter-PSSession, it works in the same manner as if the command is run locally. Hence the same output as local.
    I am not sure of the exact way to use [Reflection.Assembly]::LoadFile('C:\Windows\System32\inetsrv\Microsoft.Web.Administration.dll')
    I tried this and get an error:

  • Crashes when running applications from network share - "Windows cannot access the file for one of the following reasons"

    Hi,
    starting a couple of weeks ago, we get the following error(s) when running applications from a network share. We don't know what causes this, we are not aware of any major changes in our network infrastructure or client/Server configuration. We did upgrade
    a lot of machines to Windows 8, but the issue also occurs on older Win7 computers.
    We figured out a workaround though: The applications run fine when launching from a FQDN share (like
    \\share.domain.Company.com) and only cause problems when running from
    \\share directly. They have worked fine for years without FQDN though.
    Any ideas?

    User Action
    1. Open the file again. This situation might be a temporary problem that corrects itself when the program runs again.
    2. If the file still cannot be accessed and
    - It is on the network, your network administrator should verify that there is not a problem with the network and that the server can be contacted.
    - It is on a removable disk, for example, a floppy disk or CD-ROM, verify that the disk is fully inserted into the computer.
    3. Check and repair the file system by running CHKDSK. To run CHKDSK, click Start, click Run, type CMD, and then click OK. At the command prompt, type CHKDSK /F, and then press ENTER.
    4. If the problem persists, restore the file from a backup copy.
    5. Determine whether other files on the same disk can be opened. If not, the disk might be damaged. If it is a hard disk, contact your administrator or computer hardware vendor for further assistance.

    Hi,
    >>The applications run fine when launching from a FQDN share
    It sounds like a DNS suffix issue. When this issue occurs, please try to ping share on the client, then check if the corresponding IP address is correct. If the IP address is wrong, please adjust your settings of DNS to make sure that the client can resolve
    the share correctly.
    If it's very hard to change the settings of the DNS for some reason, as a work around, we can add the entry into the clients' hosts file.
    Best Regards.
