RPIPSR00 date type fro exceptions

Hi all,
I'm using RPIPSR00 for pay scale reclassification but since some employees do not have the correct PS group in IT0008 (some exceptions due to transfers from other systems, etc and can't register that historical records) but I have the transfer date in IT0008 so I would like to have an alternative PS group entry date. Is there any date in IT0041 for overriding the date in IT0008 used to calculate the next PS Group/PS Level reclassification?
I tried field "next increase" and it works, nevertheless I would prefer to register the PS group entry date and let the system propose the next increase.

Hello,
If you are going to use temporal type Date, then you should be using a java.sql.Date which prints off in the form yyyy-mm-dd for the query. Or, you can pass in the util.Date from Calendar.getInstance().getTime() directly to the query as a parameter using:

  • Same Input name with different data type cause the reflection exception

    I have a proxy contains couple RFCs. Two RFCs contain an argument named IN_COMPANY_CODE with data type of ZTRE_FX_BUKRSTable. Another RFC contains the same argument name of IN_COMPANY_CODE but hold different data type (String). All RFCs are in the same proxy. Complie and build the application with no issue.
    But when I ran the RFC, it generates the reflection exception below:
    Method SAPProxy1.Z_F_Tre_R_Pre_Trade_Fx can not be reflected. --> There was an error reflecting 'In_Company_Code'. > The XML element named 'IN_5fCOMPANY_--5fCODE' from namespace '' references distinct types System.String and MSTRFOREX.ZTRE_FX_BUKRSTable. Use XML attributes to specify another XML name or namespace for the element or types.
    I realize the conflict introduced by the same name with difference data type. But I would like to know if this is fixable as a bug or if there is any best practice and/or some manual intervention to make it work.

    Please install fix from OSS note 506603. After this, right-click .sapwsdl file and select "Run custom tool".

  • Flat file data load error: Exception with type CX_SY_CONVERSION_NO_NUM

    Hi Guys,
    I am trying to create a datasource from a flat file (excel data in csv format) and when I create infopackage on the datasource and trying to load, I am getting the error,
    Error 'An exception with the type CX_SY_CONVERSION_NO_NUM' at conversion exit RSDS_CONVERT_NUMBER (field FAB record 480, value 8)
    Can somebody help me with this.
    I am working in BI 7. In the excel sheet I have all cell with general format.
    I tried using PSA Typed and not Typed. Didnt work

    I selected Data Format as "Separated with Separated (for Example CSV),
    Data Separator ,
    Escape Sign ; (this i didnt understand where it comes in csv file) also I left the  Hex check boxes unchecked.
    PSA not Typed is also unchecked.
    Am I missing something? Data types in excel spreadsheet (csv file)?

  • URGENT: Illegal Argument Exception for  RAW data type in Web Dynpro

    I am getting this error in the following scenario.
    I want to save the text fields from an interactive form to SAP through RFC enabled function module. The type in the model and controller is byte[]. I have converted the string attribute from view to save to the model. But the model dictionary in Web Dynpro project (model) has this type as Binary (meta data model through EFC). The type in SAP is RAW. I am going nuts since a week to solve this.
    IS this a bug? I am using NW04s - SP12. and NWDS 7.0.9

    Issue with the RAW data types is resolved now. I have changed the data type of the field into String in the dictionary (web dynpro).. I have changed the corresponding getters and setter functions from byte[] to string. And everything working fine now. I got the Illegal Argument exception initially because I was trying to display the binary data type fields on the adobe form or view which I am not supposed to do.
    Also it is better to create separate view attributes in the context to get the values rather than mapping the model attributes directly in the form or view.

  • Handling RAW data types (from SAP) in Adobe forms - Illegal Arg Exception

          I have a scenario where I have to get data of type RAW in SAP to Adobe Forms using web dynpro java. What is the corresponding type in Web Dynpro / Adobe Forms.
    I am using Adaptive RFC and when I get the model from SAP function module, the RAW type is created as Binary type in the data dictionary of Web Dynpro.
    When I map the model context to controller context, the type is taken as byte[].
    I tried to set the attribute for this field and I got the Illegal Argument Exception error.
    I am using NWDS 7.0.9 and NW04s SP12. Pl help. I am working on this since 10 days but could get no solution.

  • JDBC MS Access--- cannot extract entry with null value with data type Meta

    I'm trying to extract a data entry with null value by using JDBC. The database is MS Access.
    The question is how to extract null entry with data type memo? The following code works when the label has data type Text, but it throws sqlException when the data type is memo.

    The question is how to extract null entry with data type memo?Okay, what you need to do is this:
    if (rs.getString("val") == null)
      // do something
    }This way, when it's a null value, you can check it first, and then handle it how you want, rather than getting an exception.

  • Issue when SelectOneChoice is used with Domain data type in JDev 11.1.2.0.0

    Hi,
    I am facing one issue while working with SelectOneChoice along with Custom Domain data type. Sample app to simulate the issue is available at http://www.filejumbo.com/Download/6FDF6ECF2922BD24
    Issue Details.
    Base view object’s attribute is of type CustomString, for which another static VO’s attribute is attached as LOV. LOV attribute is of type String. Because of this data type mismatch between LOV VO attribute and Base VO attribute, while working in screen, initially we were facing Class cast exception.
    Cannot convert <<LOV Attr. Val.>> of type class java.lang.String to class model.domain.common.CustomString This is not only for this type of SelectOneChoice but also for InputText field whose underlying VO attribute is of type CustomString (i.e. any Custom Domain type)
    On raising this in Jdeveloper forum, I came to know that adding a default oracle converter against the UI Component will take care of converting to respective data type. After added the converter for InputText and SelectOneChoice components, this issue got resolved. This was our lesson while working in Jdeveloper version 11.1.1.3.0. Converter we used,
    <f:converter converterId="oracle.genericDomain"/> When we try the same scenario in Jdev Version 11.1.1.4.0, without having the oracle converter itself, SelectOneChoice started working fine!! (i.e. it is able to set the base attribute with LOV attribute’s value but with proper base attribute’s domain data type). Anyhow, converter is required for InputText.
    When we try the same scenario in Jdeveloper new version 11.1.2.0.0, it started giving class cast exception when we don’t have oracle converter for SelectOneChoice. But by adding it, though it didn’t give such class cast exception message, though a selection is made in SelectOneChoice, VO attribute has not been updated with the new value. Instead it is updated with null value (Checked the setter method of view row impl by having break point) . Because of this, after a selection is made, when we try to read the attribute value from VO on button click, VO attribute always returns null.
    We have also tried our own converters but there is no change in the behavior.
    The above misbehavior can be tested either by having SOP programmatically or by refreshing the SelectOneChoice by giving its id as Partial trigger to itself with autosubmit set to true, so that the selected value will be reset to null irrespective of the selection made.

    I tested the behavior in Jdeveloper 11.1.2.0.0. The recent surprise is Select One Choice is behaving perfectly when it used in Grid layout and fail to work when it is form layout. I am getting surprised why behavior of component varies based on the way it refers the binding.

  • PLEASE HELP!!!  Problem with Java and SQLServer Text data type

    Hi there,
    I have a java app. that reads from an MS SQLServer database. Originally, all long text fields were declared as NVARCHAR(200). The program worked fine.
    Someone then advised that I change all long text fields to the TEXT data type. The program now crashes out with the following Exception:
    "java.sql.SQLException: [JRun][SQLServer JDBC Driver]This ResultSet can not re-read row data for column 25."
    Basically, I have a method that retrieves a resulset and iterates through it. The resultset is passed to another method during each iteration. In the example below, the 'specialNote' field used to be NVARCHAR(200). The code worked fine. Then when it was changed to TEXT, the program no longer works with the above Exception thrown.
    Anyone know any special way SQLServer TEXT data types need to be handled?

    Thanks for the suggestion. I originally had the code do what you suggested, ie, get the resultset then retrieve the data all within the same method. The data is then used to set properties in an object.
    When I had to create another method that also retrieved a resultset but using a different primary key, then also use the returned data to set the properties in the same type of object, I didn't want to repeat the setter code. That's why I decided to pass the resultsets to the same method that did the property setting.
    Unfortunately, it stopped working with the data type change.
    Any other thoughts?

  • Using a BLOB data type in a CMP Entity Bean: Error when send large files

    I've successfully impleenting BLOB in my EJB. But the main prob is, it can only work on small file which is around 3K. Any larger files than that will caused error (refer below). I got info from a friend which is using normal JDBC call to insert a file into BLOB column that you can't use java.sql.Blob data type which will have this limitation. He suggested that by using oracle.sql.BLOB, this prob won't exist.
    The problem is I'm unable to use oracle.sql.BLOB in my CMP EJB because in the jbosscmp-jdbc.xml, I'm able to specify the normal BLOB only which is java.sql.Blob (Refer below).

  • Unsigned data types in Java

    I know this is beating an old dead horse, but I find it frustrating that Java does not support unsigned types. I frequently work with binary file formats that store data in unsigned types. In Java there is no easy way to work with these files. For example, if the file has unsigned longs it is a problem. Also, if the file has unsigned ints, a very common occurrence, I have to "upcast" those numbers into longs. This is expensive from a time and space point of view since data files from satellites can be hundreds of megabytes or gigabytes in size and I have to double them in size just to capture the final bit. It is also inefficient to process these files because now I am using longs (64-bits) on systems that are usually optimized for 32-bits which means processing code takes a big performance hit.
    Also, there is simple confusion. For example, if I provide data from a file to a user and they see "long" where they know they data is an int they start asking questions and I have to start explaining why it is a long instead of an int. Scientists don't like data to be "translated" for integrity reasons so I have make these long explanations how upconverting to a long is not really a translation, etc. It just creates a lot of confusion and problems.
    Also, look at from a developer point of view. The developer has a spec in front of him listing the data types and is now reading the corresponding java class where the data gets loaded--all the data types are different because of the upconverting--it creates confusion.
    Is there any hope of having unsigned types or we all condemned to a lifetime of upconverting?

    Maybe it wasn't clear that I need to not only load the values but use them.You did fail to mention that.
    The files I load get passed on to other applications where the values get used and obviously that includes doing calculations on them so the values have to be correct. I cannot load a bunch of UInt32s into Java ints and say "pretend they are positive numbers".I get the impression you are not really interested in finding solution.
    It can be releasing to have a whinge but don't let it distract you from thinking outside the box.
    I think part of the problem here is that Java programmers do not have to work with binary files or binary protocols so they do not appreciate that doing this has serious problems in Java.I have done binary protocols. Not having unsigned scalars was never a problem.
    For example, take unsigned longs. If you are working with a binary source that has these you have no alternative except to use the BigInteger package and convert every value into an object, an incredibly painful and CPU-intensive operation if you dealing with files with gigabytes of data.You might want to consider alternatives, like
    unsigned right-shifting ('>>>') the incoming values for 64-bit scalar fields where dividing by 2 would be acceptable,
    etc.

  • Oracle Forms New Features - Your input.  Supporting data types

    I am interested to know IF we were to support any new database types in Oracle Forms 11g, which types would you like supported and why. I'd also like to know if you are currently working around the absence of a database type.
    Please note, this is not any kind of commitment to support new data types in Oracle Forms applications but we are interested to know if there is demand and if so, for what types.

    support for the "new" - well they exists since 9iR1 ... 2001 - data types TIMESTAMP, TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE, TIMESTAMP WITH LOCAL TIME ZONE, INTERVAL YEAR TO MONTH and INTERVAL DAY TO SECOND would be very helpful.
    Currently it's not possible to use the Data Block Wizard to create a data block for table/view that contains one of these columns.
    (In Forms Builder 10.1.2.3 it fails with a strange error message ... iewbdbc_oracle_to_id ... C:\forms\101220\src\ie\iewbdb.c:724 ...)
    So, one has to create the data block and the items manually. The items have to be CHARS.
    Then forms is able to fetch and display these columns. The user can edit them as normal.
    A WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM trigger can be used to make sure that the implicit conversion from CHAR to the "new" datatype works.
    For example, an INTERVAL YEAR TO MONTH column (b):

    end;It fails with "ORA-01804: failure to initialize timezone information", if the time zone is not like "-11:00", but like "EUROPE/PARIS". Don't know why...

  • How to use Call library function node for a function in dll with VOID data type

    Hi All,
    I would like to ask for your kind help,
    I am facing an issue with the call library node.
    I have a C++ function(stdcall), which has void as data type
    error code XXXX(hwnd, lID, getValue, *void data1, *void data2)
    the data1 and data2 types are always changing depending upoin the value of "getValue".
    Primarily i can use call library node multiple times and adapt each node according to the data types of data1 and data2, and extract the values and use in the code. Here is no issue. Real question is:
    My question:
    How can i just use one time call library node and make a case depending upon the "getvalue", which will control the data type of data1 and data2. Here i really looking for solutions.
    My trials:
    i used varaints as input to the call libray node for data1 and data2, and selected Parameters in call libraby node as " Adapt to type". here labview just crashed.
    i really appreciate your feedbackand suggestions.

    A variant is a very specific LabVIEW datatype (really a C++ type object internally) and trying to pass that to a function, which excepts a flat memory pointer there, for sure will crash very quickly.
    As to endianess, yes Unflatten will be able to adjust for endianess, which in this case however is most likely exectly NOT what you want. So make sure that the you select native type for the endianess input on Unflatten from String. LabVIEW internally works with whatever is the native endianess, as will most likely your C++ DLL. The platform independent big endian format does only come into play when you receive data streams over some streaming interface like a network connection. Here it is desirable to use an endian format that is independent from the actual platform that generates and consumes the data stream. LabVIEWs default endianes is big endian here.
    But as long as you pass data directly to native components like DLLs there is no difference in endianess between what LabVIEW uses and what those components use.
