RSS Subscribe Button point to old domain name?

Hey,
A .mac site I am help maintain is doing something strange with the RSS feeds.
http://web.mac.com/calvarymissions/CCMA/home.html
There are currently 2 blog style pages on there and both of the RSS feeds point to an old domain name address rather than the .mac address.
I've looked through the posts here, but haven't been able to find a solution. I've checked on another computer using iweb and this problem doesn't occur, so I figure it's a setting on that editing machine?
Any idea's?

Make sure that you have nothing set in the Personal Domain part of the .Mac account settings.

  • RSS subscribe button not working in my blog

    Hi there
I created a site for a game I am playing but the RSS subscribe button isn't working it just goes back to the home page.
The site is hosted on MobileMe and the url to the blog page is http://www.tttblog.co.uk/, and click on the blog link ( this isn't a shameless plug ) I just need get the RSS feed working
not sure what other information you require, I have set this to be my personal domain in the MobileMe console
    cheers
    JP

The URL to the blog page is :
         http://web.mac.com/johnpaul.temple/WFRP/Blog/Blog.html
And no, you haven't set you personal domain with http://www.tttblog.co.uk.
You're hiding the pages with it.
The MMe Help explains how to do it properly:

  • Rerouting old domain name

I would like to reroute my old domain name with Yahoo so that it goes to my new iWeb site.
Yahoo requests a primary and secondary host name. But as far as I know there's nobody to call at Apple for this information. Does anybody know what would be the primary and secondary host name?

I still don't understand what to write in place of my current Yahoo primary and secondary?
If these are nameservers, you keep them as they are. Your domain name is not going to move anywhere, it is just going to get pointed to your site at MobileMe. The pointing is done at the place which has your name (which cannot be Apple).
And BTW, is there an Apple help number for this stuff?
No. It really has nothing to do with Apple, everything is done at the place where you have your name (except the MobileMe account settings if you use CNAME pointing).

  • Old Domain Name showing in User Profiles

Sharepoint User Profile Sync is showing some users with our Old Domain name (from years ago).  This domain name is NOT  in our Active Directory.  I'm guessing that the profiles that show the old domain name must have been in our Sharepoint
2007 and got ported over when we upgraded to Sharepoint 2010.
This is causing conflicts and some workflows not to work (ones where its looking up a user's profile).  And when I look in Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager, there are some users listed with this error: Exception while trying to migrate user "abc\johndoe"
to "xyz\johndoe"..  Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: The user does not exist or is not unique.......
("abc" being the old domain name...and "xyz" being our current domain name)
I'm wondering what is the best way to get rid of the old domain name in our Sharepoint 2010 user profiles?  Should I update them in the User Profile database in SQL?
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Also, in Central Admin under Health monitoring, we have this message
"People search relevance is not optimized when the Active Directory has errors in the manager reporting structure. In Active Directory, only company leaders should have the 'manager' property set to NULL. As a result of errors, the Active Directory can
incorrectly have the 'manager' property set to NULL for other users that can cause a decrease in people search relevance. By specifying the actual leaders of
the company, these inconsistencies are not taken into account and the relevance problem is corrected.
    Remedy
Specify the company leaders explicitly. Use the following PowerShell
    commands: $upap = Get-SPServiceApplicationProxy [appid]; Add-SPProfileLeader
    $upap [Domain]\[UserName]. Run 'Get-SPProfileLeader $upap' to check whether the
leader was successfully added. As a last step, run a full crawl on the content
source containing the start address (URL) of the user profile application.
Not sure if this is related.
Any help would be much appreciated... thanks!

If Mysite Clean Up job is running then this issue should be fixed(removed all old profiles)  in couple of User Profile Sync( Full followed by couple of Incremental). Basically, FIMs
responsible to mark the user as deleted within the UPA then CleanUp Job purge these profile.
    http://www.harbar.net/archive/2011/02/10/account-deletion-and-sharepoint-2010-user-profile-synchronization.aspx
How many users you are seeing, are they showed in the Profile missing options? if less numbers then you can simply remove the IDs from USer Profile manually.
Please remember to mark your question as answered &Vote helpful,if this solves/helps your problem. ****************************************************************************************** Thanks -WS MCITP(SharePoint 2010, 2013) Blog: http://wscheema.com/blog

  • RSS Subscribe Button doesnt work

When I save my site to a folder and try to upload the folder to my host provider, the RSS subscribe button shows the following:
    http://www.cwa3407.org/LU3407/Blog/rss.xml
The problem seems to be that LU3407 needs to be taken out for this button to work. What is the best way to edit the html code for iWeb or the easiest way to fix this problem?
    The line should look like:
    http://www.cwa3407.org/Blog/rss.xml
I can not figure out a way to save my file, without this problem. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Rick

    the RSS subscribe button
    shows the following:
    http://www.cwa3407.org/LU3407/Blog/rss.xml
The problem seems to be that LU3407 needs to be taken
out for this button to work.
The RSS doesn't work because you broke the site structure created by iWeb by not uploading a key part of it. You need to upload the folder LU3407 and the index.html file published alongside it. If you just upload the contents of that folder, the links aren't right.

  • Pointing my new domain name too my .mac homepage

Hi, please can someone tell me how to point my new domain name to my .mac account? I usually have to change DNS settings but I can't find them anywhere on this site.
    Thanks

You may already figured this out, but I had the same problem and later learned that Apple will not provide a DNS number. I had to pay my domain host to forward my domain (aka "domain forwarding") so that someone typing in my domain is automatically forwarded to my Apple homepage. Even then, viewers will see the very long iWeb url in the domain/url field, and so to avoid that, you might consider paying a few more bucks to get "domain masking", which replaces the long winded iWeb urls with your domain. The only problem with that is no matter what page of your site the visiter is on it always says your domain (www.xxxxxx.com) in the domain/url field. Its a compromise, but at least you have the satisfaction of using your personalized domain name and the ease of use of Apple's iWeb system.

  • How does RSS SUBSCRIBE button work?

    Hello folks,
I am wondering, how do I input the information about my RSS feed, (like URL, etc.) into RSS SUBSCRIBE button. I insert this RSS BUTTON onto my podcast page, that's great. But how that button knows what URL of that feed is? What I mean is, don't I need to assign the information about my feed to that button somehow? I just don't understand, how would viewer be able to subscribe to my podcast by clicking on RSS SUBSCRIBE button when I did not assign feed URL to it. I have tried to find something in INSPECTOR, but I did not find any tools how to do this.
Thank you so much for any input.
    Cheers

    Hi Tom,
yes I had tried it on actual website, however, it was just very quick test, because I have that site for something completely different. But this is the scenario of what happened:
    website URL is www.icebergfilms.com
on that server I have a folder named: PODCAST and inside there is the feed called: bcoutdoor.xml
All podcast episodes are also inside this folder.
So when I paste this URL: http://www.icebergfilms.com/podcast/bcoutdoor.xml into iTunes, it uploads and plays that podcast fine. But when I publish my site (into the folder) with iWeb, typing www.icebergfilms.com into that box, and then upload it onto that server, the feed does not work if you click on SUBSCRIBE BUTTON.
That's what does not make sense to me, how would iWeb know to look for bcoutdoor.xml if I don't actually give it that information. (unless it just automaticaly looks for any .xml file on the server and makes link to it)
I would expect to have some tool in iWeb, how to assign ot attach that feed to that SUBSCRIBE BUTTON, but there in none.
Tom I really apologize for being such dummy and thank you again for your patience with me.
    Cheers

  • RSS & Subscribe Button Problems

Having major problems with subscribe button for Podcast on website created with iWeb... (www.jumpstartguidestv.com)
We publish everything to a folder and then drag the contents of exported folder onto the web server. The problem is the RSS refers to the exported folder itself.. is there a way to control/reprogram the RSS link in iWeb? I'm not sure if this makes any sense.
    Any help would be appreciated!

We publish everything to a folder and then drag the
contents of exported folder onto the web server.
You need to upload the folder which has the same name as your site does inside iWeb, plus the index.html file which is published alongside it. That is how iWeb is designed to work. By just putting the contents of that folder on the server you are breaking the site structure and the RSS links.
Since it is ugly to have your domain name repeated twice in your urls, best to rename your site inside iWeb to something short, like "jstv" instead of "jumpstartguidestv.com" and republish before reuploading correctly.

  • How can I get safari to change the website history to follow an old domain name to a different sitedifferent

I have a domain name that I changed to point to a different website. But it is still pointing to the old site. When I put the domain name in my iPad, it goes to the new site.  But the old site seems to be in the memory of Safari on my computer. Any ideas?

Delete the old bookmark and create a new one. If not bookmarked, just delete your History.

  • Pointing an existing domain name to business catalyst.

    Hi there,
I have an existing site called www.design180.co.nz. But I have designed a new site. I want to replace the old site with the new one Ive redesigned Adobe in muse. The hosting company has the domain name, I will need them to point the domain name to the business catalyst, where the new site will be hosted. Ive 5 free accounts so I will use one of them. This is where I am stuck... Does he point to "ns1.worldsecuresystems.com (54.236.190.129)" - primary DNS server.
At present the site is set up as a trial in Muse design18002.businesscatalyst.com
After he points to the site can i save the muse site as www.design180.co.nz

Hi there, I am guessing your reading the documentaiton. That is correct, if your pointing all traffic to your BC site you need to use those NS records.
What you then do is go into your site admin, into site settings and manage domains. You need to set up your domain in there.
Once you do that, it can take up to 24 hours for a .com, but for a .co.nz it should take about an hour or so tops to propergate. ISP's cache dns different so some may take longer, especially if someone is viewing outside NZ.

  • GPMC looks for old domain name after rename

    Greetings!
I've renamed my domain after reading white papers on the subject. The process went well except when I try to open the Group Policy Management Console it says the domain doesn't exist. It offers to let me select a different domain controller but it's looking
in the old domain. I can't change anything in the dialog to point it to the new domain name. I've tried from my Win 7 work station and from the domain controller with the PDC role. I moved that role to a different DC and get the same results. The domain is
at Server 2008 functionality level but all DCs are Server 2012R2. I did run gpfixup for both the DNS name and NB name. The only errors it produces relate to old software group policies that no longer are used and the file path has been removed. I need to get
this fixed. I'd even be willing to start fresh with just default polices but blowing up the domain and starting over isn't an option. Thanks for any suggestions offered.

Thanks for your reply, Frank. Yes, all the steps were followed. The gpfixup was reporting errors and stating they were not fatal, but they were because the gp fix never completed. Evidently it renames sysvol and that never happened.
It turns out the policies that gpfixup was dying on were long-abandoned policies that used DFS shares. I used ASDI Edit to find them and delete them. Then I was able to run gpfixup, which now completed successfully. Once that was done the GPMC would properly
run and access the group policies.
The actual domain rename went quite well and most users didn't notice this problem other than the workstations reverting to installing updates themselves instead of contacting my WSUS server.

  • Remove RSS subscribe button from Iweb 08

How do I remove the RSS feed button from some of my pages/photo galleries in iWeb 08?
I also noticed that my navigation bar does not show up in Dreamweaver CS3. The navigation bar would show up fine in the old iWeb. Is there a compatibility issue with the two?

Our wiki server in Xserve Intel was running smooth in 10.5.7 with a static IP in an intranet environment.

Snow Leopard did the same if you used the GUI. I responded to you in your other thread. You can also simply use a different Apache. Use Macports to install your own apache, which can be managed via command line or webmin. Thus, the apple one deals with Apple stuff, and, yours deals with everything else.
